Photo Op with stocks & double-decker buses (check).
An beer alphabet game that could take a century to complete (check).
A vertical display of onion rings (check).

I opted to give the 5th star being that I did not camp at this fine establishment.

This was really not my kind of place, so take it with a grain of salt.  We had done the seal walk, and therefore any port in a storm right?  This was the first place we saw.  I would have to review with some other visitors.  The place needs to be maintained just a little better to pass as a restaurant ("pub") instead of just a big bar.
The staff was nary very interested in us non-drinking folk (family of three with small kid).  Not unfriendly, just...disinterested.
The burger was good.  The fish and chips, unimpressive.
It might be a fun place to go for a group of adults looking for a loudish, drinking type place.  But not so fun for families.  Had my dad been with us, I'm sure we would have turned right back around and left.

    Hey Cameron's,

When it's a freezing, misty day, let's light a fire in the fireplace!

Was looking forward to introducing Cameron's to a dear friend.  We were seated next to the fireplace.  We very politely asked three people if it could be lit, and got zero response, until finally somebody said, "We don't know how."  Hmmm...

After that, our waitress treated us with contempt.  What's that all about?

What a disappointment.  I really wanted my friend to love Cameron's like I (once) did.

    Disappointed again.

If my kids did not love this place I would have put it on the"pass" list after the first few visits.  The beer selection is very good and the prices are OK but the place (buses and all) really need some TLC.  It is a cool idea to have the buses, video games and the dog friendly patio but please invest just a little of the profits into them!  Clean the buses, find working video games and put a heat lamp or 3 on the patio.

As for the food it is un inspired and bland.  For example, the fish and chips are not even fresh - come on - the harbor is so close! Even my kids no longer finish their burgers and fries, they are pretty tasteless and the are always cooked into hockey-pucks.

I love giving my business to my local owner/operators but they have to give back as well!

Went to Cameron's this past Saturday for a lazy lunch because we were in the mood for some edible, greasy food.  Being locals, we go to Cameron's when we feel like something simple but this time we never got any service after being handed menus when we walked in.  We sat in view of one end of the bar and I could see the wait people in a gaggle talking but never did one of them come over to take our order.  We took our time with the menus and gave them nearly 20 minutes in total but then we walked out.  I never have high expectations when I go to Cameron's and the service has never been great but I'll never go back after this experience.  Why bother when the people working there don't.

If you are looking for an inn that you can actually afford in Half Moon Bay, then this  is the place. Plus for about $100 a night where else can you stay that has the following things:
--foosball, outdoor horseshoes and volleyball, pinball, arcade games, darts, shuffleboard, and wait for it....a double decker bus parked permanently outside of this place--oh wait there are 2!!! Yup, they are the smokers busses ha ha hilarious.

Yup they call this place the Disneyland of Pubs and after driving up to park for free at an inn that only has 3 rooms total on top of their British Pub and Restaurant that even came with free wifi and free directTV, I knew we were in heaven. Who needs the Ritz Carlton up the road when you have a bar that brings in live cover bands for free? And that has karaoke for free too? Too bad the karaoke ended by midnight--didn't quite get back to our inn early enough to experience that, but next time I am in half moon bay, I definitely know where to stay.

Plus Cameron is a pretty nice guy---he is at this bar every day pretty much it seems, the staff is nice, and it definitely has its list of local regulars which I love. The food I  saw didn't look the most inventive, but the atmosphere and people here will definitely make up for anything else this place lacks in, and I know that this  place definitely does not lack in fun.

Looked forward to stopping at Camerons after many years of driving by.  The food was decent and the beer was good, although a little flat.  But the most dissapointing part was the horrible service, once we were served we never saw our waitress again until we went to the counter to pay. I would have understood if she was busy, but we were her ONLY customers.  I really don't see us returning.

We've passed Cameron's on trips up north to Half Moon Bay and finally decided to stop and check out the place with the double decker bus and boat out front.

The plus side--the decor is a picker's paradise.  Seriously, this place has more odds and ends to look at than your average antique shop/ vintage flea market.

Which is a good thing because you will need to look at something or play the trivial pursuit cards quite a bit since the service is slow and the waitresses are a bit clueless at times.  We went when the place was not even busy and the waitress managed to pass our table not once but twice with our drinks.  Even my husband, who could forgive alot in a service situation was frustrated.

The beer selection is decent, not extensive but some nice brews on tap.  The food, however, is mediocre and priced too high for what they are offering.

Our curiosity satisfied, I don't think we'll be back.

Non of you reviewers have mentioned the special events Cameron hosts in the back room or outside. I hosted a major event - birthday party for 70-year old beer-loving Brit. 45+ guests ordered off the menu and service was awesome. Cameron himself helped out! The old folks were comfy and the kids had great video games and other activities to keep them happy.

I've also discovered that Cameron's has the best pizza in town. I'm a local and I've tried all the pizza establishments between Moss Beach and Pescadero. Cameron's beats them hands down! The crust is somewhere between thick and thin, there's no grease floating around the bottom of the pan and the toppings are generous.

We also love the comfortable feel of the bar. You don't leave without having met a traveler or a local.

Overall, it's my favorite place to 'hang out' in the area.

Groupon brought me here, and i won't be back.

We stayed in HMB for the anniversary weekend and this was the worst part of the trip.

I got the killer burger. It tasted like burnt bacon.
The lover got the prime rib sandwich special, it was Saturday.
It made him become a vegetarian.

The killer burger is nothing special, beef patty and bacon.
The prime rib sandwich was two soggy pieces of bread holding two gigantic pieces of meat with a lot of fat, it was sickening.

The waitress was terrible, not only did she not check up on us after giving us food, when she came over at the very end when we were done, my bf had only eaten the bread and fries and a bunch of meat was left over on the plate, and she didn't even think to ask why he hadn't touched it.

I might go try the soup one day......MAYBE.

We've passed this place a few times and wanted to stop and check it out.  It looked fun and interesting!

As far as the decor goes, it IS fun and interesting!  You can drink & smoke on the double decker bus and it feels like you are really in an English pub!

The only reason I have it 2 stars and not 1 is because of the fun atmosphere.  The food is HORRID.  We had a party of 5 and we all ordered something different and NONE of us even found the food be even mediocre.  It was just all AWFUL.
We waited over an HOUR and 15 minutes for our food.  The wait staff was sweet but soooooooooooo SLOW.
They offered "Pumpkin Soup".  It was NOT pumpkin ANYTHING.  It was canned minestrone soup!  WTH?  Pumpkin soup is NOT minestrone soup.  The fried appetizers were over cooked and looked/tasted like they had been set under a heat lamp for a looooong time.  I used to work in the food industry, so I can tell when food sits too long.
I had the "special" of prime rib sandwich.  It was soggy bread with fatty, DRY roast beef and cold french fries.
We never got checked on after a different waitress brought our food finally and we had to get up and go to the bar OURSELVES for drink refills due to the fact that no one ever came back to our table!  Unacceptable.

We went there ONCE and that will be the one and ONLY time we go.
If we want shitty food and shitty service in an English pub atmosphere, we'll go to Britannia Arms down the street.

Service is deplorable!  I mean downright awful if they are busy at all.  Taking off one star for service is generous but..

-If you are looking to hang out for 30 minutes before a server stops by to take your drink order..

-If you want to wait 20 min plus for someone to stop by and ask if you need a refill...

-If you enjoy waiting 20 min before finally tracking down another server to print out your check..

-If you want to go somewhere that warrants little or no tip...THIS IS YOUR PLACE!

To be fair though, their clam chowder is excellent; best i've had in the bay area thus far.  Appetizer with bread and roasted garlic and brie cheese is worth the lofty price tag.  Fish and chips are good, but overpriced.  Same thing with the beer.  Nice atmosphere, location and double decker cigar bus.

Incidently, the last visit when the service was so poor, we purposely waited for our server to reappear for the comedy of it all until it got old.

Sadly, as dismal as the service has been in my several visits, I will be back.  Geez  i'm such a pushover sometimes, LOL!

I've driven past many many times and it's hard not to notice that there's a giant double decker bus built into the side of the place, not to mention the British cab and telephone booth out front. If you're in Half Moon Bay and looking for something a little different, maybe even eccentric, this might be the place for you. Inside is more "all things British" decor and a number of different booths, alcoves, fire places, etc to eat around.

When I think of traditional British pub food, I think I a little more of drinks than food. We both wanted cider, which seemed like a British enough thing to get. My friend wanted pear cider and was pretty much limited to Woodchuck. Yes, I understand that technically Woodchuck is cider and is also made from pears, but Woodchuck is kind of like going to a restaurant and ordering a bowl of M&M's for dessert. In a pub that looks like this with a wall full of interesting beer cans, it would have been nice to have more choices.

I had the Shepard's Pie, which was OK. They are really known for their burgers. Since it is Half Moon Bay, some more fresh seafood options would be nice. Not many options if you are a vegetarian. Was a little pricey, but fun to stop in.

Since I'm talking about pear cider, I'll suggest two that might be nice to see on a menu somwhere:

    - Docs - Warwick, NY
    - Kopparberg - Sweden (OK, not British, but neither is Woodchuck)

You will read a review that describes the food as HORRID !!  And We very much so agree.  We both had reheated food.. but worse yet was the full rack of BBQ Ribs my husband ordered..and they were old tasting yet microwaved HOT..a taste no patron should experience. I would not recommend going but if you must ..  go for the decorations and beer, because even the soda was badly mixed.  Now if your in the area anyway..take the time to eat at Barbra Fish Trap..near Half Moon Bay Harbor..the fish n chips are fantastic as are the steamers with a side of cheesy garlic bread..heavenly..I promise!!

Ok, first off, the food here isn't great but just for the atmosphere you need to check this place out.  My wife's co-worker had been here before and suggested stopping by so we did on this long weekend.  Kind of odd that we went to a British place on 4th of July though right?

From the parking lot you can get a good sense of what type of adventure you're in for.  They have some double decker buses, an English pay phone, etc.  Inside it's decorated with over 3,000 beer cans and every other nick knack you can imagine.  They even have their own little British store in there where you can buy British goods.

I got the bangers sausage and a Guiness.  While the sausage was tasty it wasn't anything out of the ordinary and the Guiness was actually flat and didn't have the creamy texture it normally does.

Even if you don't eat here you have to check it out.

Been here several times with friends and family and the service was always very slow even when they were'nt busy. The last time confirmed it when 4 of us walked in and sat down at a table outside. We sat there for 10 minutes, and mind you, I am a very patient person. Just for laughs, we sat for another 5. We got up and left.
When you do get served, the food is pretty good and they have a full bar plus a shuffleboard table. Inside though, the place is very dark almost like a strip club.

My only squeeze and I dropped in on 4th of July after a day at the beach.

There weren't very many diners, about 3 other parties were there. Our server was very nice and attentive and greeted us right away. We started off with drinks - beer for my guy and a Bloody Mary for me. The Blood Mary, was the worst I've ever had. I don't even think it was a Bloody Mary because it just tasted like tomato juice and a corona. If I wanted a Michelada, I would have ordered it. And though I do enjoy micheladas very much, this one was the worst I've ever had.

The burgers were ok. I got the Cameron's killer and my guy got the Bacon. It was pretty big and not greasy, which is a huge plus. The games and decoration were what really made this place enjoyable. I'm a big kid at heart and it was nice to see pinball, arcade, and a foosball table in one place at a restaurant.

We ended up staying for over 2 hours because I was determined to beat my guy in at least one game of foosball, a goal I never achieved. We'll definitely be back. It looks like this place has a lot of activities going on and the people here are nice.

Meh. This place is ok. I found it by accident and thought t would be cool. The food was ok. The service could have been much better. I had to ask for coffee 3 times before the waitress remembered.

One thing I thought was weird was some of what I'm guessing were
locals were a bit nosey and rude.

It was just an OK experience.

The food was mediocre at best.
Our server was about as unfriendly as they get from beginning to end.

The condiment bar baffled me.  Not so much the condiment bar itself, as the Rules of the Condiment Bar.  Our server pointed out the Bar, mumbled something about helping ourselves.  So we did.  Tabasco and Colman's Mustard.  At the end of the meal, she brings our bill and says "Oh, I'll need to add the mustard to your bill."  Huh? She wanders off, comes back in a few minutes and says the same thing " ... add mustard to your bill."  We had to buy the jar of mustard?  But not the tabasco.  And the mustard was open before we used it, so why didn't the previous person who used it have to buy it?

I didn't want to buy the used mustard. We threw a five on the table and I threw it in my bag.

Adding insult to injury, the mustard expires in two weeks.  wtf.

This review is for the bar, B&B, and grounds.

I bought a Groupon for the B&B, thinking it looked quaint and was located in Half Moon Bay, so it couldn't be all that bad. The area is lovely, with several beaches and decent restaurants. Having never stayed over night, I wanted to try it out. My husband & I booked room #3 about a month in advance, since after doing a little research, I realized the B&B has 3 rooms, only one of which has its' own bathroom. The other two rooms share a bathroom, which is very European, but not really what we wanted considering we were still in Cali.

We had no idea what to expect, but came with an open mind, since we both love an adventure. We arrived at the pub around 5PM, thinking we would be able to check in, then hit a restaurant we had rezzies to about 5 miles north. The check in, we found out, is at the bar, which is no biggie. We sat down, and were helped by Abe, the bar tender. He was accommodating, getting us 2 drinks, but letting us know right away that our room wasn't clean yet.

We sat at the bar, drinking and waiting for our room, then took a short stroll, with our drinks in hand, around the property. We met a few more people, some who worked there, some who were staying in the other rooms, and we got a little more comfortable since everyone was so friendly.

The grounds are vast: the restaurant, pub, and 2 double decker buses serve as indoor seating. The outdoor space has an outdoor radio, an industrial-size barbeque, a bar, a stage, and plenty of picnic tables. In the middle is a fire pit, which we used later that night. The area also has a sand volleyball court, plenty of parking, and a huge field that is used for RV camping. The beach is wallking distance down the road from the property.

    The Good:
The bar is fully stocked, beers from all over the world, Ace Cider on tap! Shuffleboard and trivia, along with other arcade games make this place a good time, solo or with friends. Lots of nooks & crannies to get cozy, or several larger tables to accommodate groups. Memorabilia covers every inch of wall space, so bring your reading glasses.

    The Bad:
If you expect decent, edible food, don't eat at a pub. I hate to say it, but all those Yelpers who gave this place negative ratings on the food have no grounds for complaining. This place doesn't try to hide the fact that it's main selling point is beer and atmosphere, not food. I recommend getting drunk prior to eating here; then, it might not taste so bad. You might regret it in the morning, tho.

    The Ugly:
The rooms are meager and leave much to be desired, even tho they have plenty of nautical chotchkies, live and plastic plants together in the same pots, as well as industrial toilet paper dispensers. If you are looking for a decent place to stay, go to the Comfort Inn down the road. The B&B stands for bed and beverage, not breakfast, as Cameron says. The rooms are basically crash pads-- people come here to drink and party, with no pretenses that the rooms are more than a comfy bed to fall drunk into at the end of the night. At least our room was clean, if nothing else.

All in all, we had a blast in this adventure, but it's not for everyone, especially those who have high expectations and limited humor.

    The pros:
    - Good beer selection
    - Cheesy but fun decor
    - Onion rings on a stick (I am a sucker for a gimmick)

    The cons:
    - Incredibly average food
    - Often crowded (with tourists)

In summary, decent place to grab a beer and/or take a potty break while cruising the coast.

Cute little pub. Our second stop after a long drive from Sacramento (we needed to get out of the heat!) They have an awesome, dog friendly  patio and my dog loved it!! We went there on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon and both had the fish and chips. It was VERY yummy. My doggie LOVED the french fries. Afterwards we strolled around the property before getting back in the car and heading to one of the many beaches in the area. It is an adorable place with with lots of beers to choose from. We plan on visiting again....and again, and again. We had a blast!

My boyfriend and I went here after a nice, tiring, and chilly time at the beach. We loved all of the interesting trinkets to look at and even played a fun little wooden game of tik - tac- toh while we waited for our food. It was super cozy and nice after the cold beach.

We got fish and chips, as well as a cup of clam chowder. Both of us were very full after! The fish and chips were not as greasy as they are at most places. Overall great time!

Definitely unique and a great beer selection!

When thinking about this establishment I find myself on the fence about a lot of things. First is whether it deserves two or three stars. The food is mediocre and the atmosphere is lacking, the service is not good and server's attitudes are a bit cold.  The owner's personality is larger than life, as seen from the various clippings and whatnot scattered on the  heavily decorated walls, but borders on over-inflated ego.   Maybe it's just me, but you don't name a restaurant after yourself and then proceed to make yourself the mascot; especially when your food doesn't warrant it.

The gift shop was cool to look at; but as they say in Britain, mind the gap...the gap between the date and the expiration labels on the packaged foodstuffs that is. Seriously, who sells dusty packs of cookies nearly three months past date?

As a frequent traveler to HMB, Cameron's never comes to mind when thinking of where to eat, and with this small town's lack of dining variety, that's a very bad thing.

After reading all the negative reviews, I almost wanted to eat somewhere else but we had family visiting and I had told them how great this place is, a great photo opportunity and a lot of interesting and decorative rooms to see. There were five adults and one toddler and our wait time was short, our server checked on us often, our food was delicious and plentiful and the restaurant was packed. I had the fish and chips which were tasty, the fish in a non-greasy, light crust and the french fries hot and crispy. The portion size was filling. My daughter had the chicken pesto sandwich which she said tasted good. My spouse enjoyed the sandwich if the day, the prime rib sandwich which he enjoyed thoroughly. The kid's menu's chicken tenders are actually lightly breaded white chicken breast fillets, not the cheap nuggets other restaurants serve. They even had apple juice served in a covered cup for her! Our server was very friendly, efficient, professional and made us feel welcome. Even Cameron, the owner, introduced himself as we were standing outside taking photos. My family and I had a wonderful visit and plan on coming back! I'm so glad we visited!

    total crap.
I really, really, REALLY wanted to like this place. I really did.
And - I totally understood the handwritten sign on the door on the way in that issued a "disclaimer" about it being pumpkin festival, busiest day of the year, etc. It also said something along the lines of "if you're in a bad mood, don't come in here".

What it really should have said, however, was "if you're in a good mood, don't come in here... because we're likely to ruin it for you".

Hungry and wanting a good chill space, we went in. Found a awkward table (but worked) by the fireplace. There didn't appear to be table service, so up to the bar we went to order 2 drinks and our food. Was told food was going to be brought out.

30 minutes later, a group of 10 came in and sat next to us; 30 minutes later after that, their food was delivered....

went up to the bar, and the really not busy bartender pretended to ignore me for at least 5 minutes. Got her attention, ordered another drink, asked about our food and she casually said we were 2 tickets behind, and that was it.

    15 minutes later...

I was about to go up and ask for our money back (we'd already paid and tipped up front) but the food came. The turkey burger I ordered lacked turkey (it seemed to be a costco garden burger), and no lettuce, tomato, onion -  nada. I left hungry and bummed.

Sorry. Now that I live on the coast, I would love to go back, take family, enjoy with friends, but I will not be returning.

Being from Ireand and living in San Francisco for the last 15 years, i thought i bring the family down for a good down to earth English Pub meal which was one of the worse meals i have ever ate.
The Mash Potatoes were not real, Gravy was as though it came from a can, The Guinness was flat, no head on it, look as though it was a pint of coke,, Kids Pizza was layered with so much cheese that, it was hard to see the crust, wife had a prime Rib Sandwitch which tasted old and nothing to talk about, service was really poor and they had overcharged for another $12 meal. The pub got the the looks with the Double decker buses, mail box, phone box, pub decor, but service and food need more work. Good photo shot but not worth eating there.

A group of us stopped here after visiting a pumpkin patch. We were seated quickly (which was definitely not the case with people who arrived about an hour or so after us), but the experience spiraled downhill from there. All said and done, I can't imagine any of the 9 of us ever returning.

The food was mediocre (and especially for the price), but the nail in the coffin was the service, or lack thereof. It took ages for someone to take our drink order, then our actual order, then for the food to be delivered (most of which was done incorrectly). The wrong beer was brought to the table; another person in our party had to ask for his drink three times. It took so long for our server to bring us our check, I swear I thought that she had just up and left the restaurant.

While we were waiting for our check, trying and trying and trying to track down our server--or really, ANY server--the line of people waiting for a table grew longer and longer. We heard people remarking that it must be because the Giants game was on.

No. It was because people couldn't freaking leave.

We came here because I had a craving for fish and chips, and we had a gift certificate! The place has a lot of cool things to look at, like beer cans, pictures, and little random facts. The food came out nice and hot and fresh. The fish was just okay, kind of reminded me of the frozen cod you can get from Trader Joes. The fries were good and crispy. Over all it was just okay!

Half Moon Bay is one of my mom's favorite towns after Carmel/Monterey. I try and schedule a day trip with her to go there at least once or twice a year. We love to window shop (there is a great antique store there). We always stop in the bakery and buy an over-priced pastry of some kind and lastly we have lunch at Original Joe's.

Well last weekend Original Joe's wasn't original Joe's anymore. I suggested to her that we drive down to the beach and see if we could find somewhere more promising to eat our lunch.

As we are driving, we pass this very funky looking place called Cameron's. It's got a red double decker bus out front, an old fashioned English taxi and a very colorful building. The parking lot was also full. We both commented that it looked like a fun place and agreed to stop there on our way back.

So this place is a restaurant, pub and an inn. The interior is very English pub (although I have nothing to compare it to) Lots of beer cans adorning the walls. Lots of memorabilia and a separate arcade room for the kids. Several tvs were on with all the games on.

The waitress tells us to sit anywhere we want. Front and center Giants game for us! The menu is quite extensive. But we spy the daily special is prime rib sandwiches. 2 of those please! And a Newcastle for me.

The food was not earth shattering but good enough. Prime rib served on garlic bread with au jus and horseradish, cole slaw and a side of crispy fries. And a second Newcastle for me. (It's a pub!)

My mom and I agreed that Cameron's was our new Half Moon Bay lunch spot. I look forward to trying something else on their menu and another beer selection.

If you're in the area, Cameron's is worth stopping in for, even if it's just for a cold pint and to take in the ambience.

Ive driven by this place many times and always wanted to stop. We recently in HMB and decided to stop for lunch so went here.
From the outside it looks really good, very British, the London bus and the taxi are good additions.
We had our dogs with us so ate outside in the patio area. It was a good 15 mins before someone came and took our order, we order some cider and fish n chips. Now being British myself I know good fish n chips! I was very disappointed when it arrived. The fish tasted like it had been frozen and the chips were in fact french fries, you would have thought that they would have made the extra bit of effort as they were a 'British pub'. The menu itself wasn't that British either, yes it had bangers and mash and a few pies and pasties, but on looking inside in the British shop - all those items were frozen. Seriously how hard is it to make shepherds pie or something else decent. Also I was expecting maybe strawberries and cream or apple crumble on the dessert menu but no.
The servers were slow and I had to ask 3 times for a glass of water and we had to go and find our own cutlery.
The shop inside was very dusty and clearly has a low turn over.
Inside the pub it looks British and they had some cool decorations and bar games.
Overall a very disappointing experience - I won't be going back

Wanted to like this place; we don't go to the Englander in San Leandro any more as they sell short measures. The beer was ok, the food was not. The bill was staggering. Restaurant prices for sub-fast food. Please try to make better food and/or re-examine your pricing policy.

For example, I am pretty sure I paid $10 for a garden burger in a (slightly stale) bun with some fries. No salad, no relish, no cheese, no butter even. This is about three times more than it was really worth.

Maybe next time we will just have a beer.

Stopped by here since it was the closest restaurant where we were at. It wasn't busy and the dining area where we ate at was very quiet. It kind of seem intimate, but even our waitress whispered to us when talking to us. Like we all should be very silent or something.

    Food:
You get to fill up on however much condiments you wanted at the condiments area if you order stuff like burgers or hot dogs.
My bf got the Cheese burger and I got the turkey burger. Both were good. I made a big mess on my plate b/c the condiments kept falling out when i took bites.

Good place if you want peace and quiet. I don't think this place is for me though. I like noise =) I felt like i needed to to very quiet and its awkward.

I hate going to a restaurant, then writing a negative review - it's honestly not something I like to do, but maybe the owners of the restaurants really do read these.

I've lived in Half Moon Bay for a year and have never eaten at Cameron's.  I've stopped by and walked through, but my better instinct told me it wasn't a place for me.  The only reason I stopped by last Friday was because I was told by another resident that they have good burgers - and good burgers are hard to find in this area.  So I decided to give it a try.

There are two parts to Cameron's:  the restaurant and outside patio (with a "bed & breakfast" in the second story), and the bar on the other side.  I've never liked the bar because it's cold, unattractive, and to me, not a place where I'd like to spend any time.

As for the restaurant - I have to admit, the past reviews have scared me away - but I figured what the heck, perhaps they really do have good hamburgers.

Service was dismal at best.  I had to ask for everything, including salt, where the condiment bar was, and for a glass for the beer they served me with my meal.  I mean really, wouldn't you think they'd serve a glass with a beer to a woman?

Anyway, I had asked for the hamburger to be "rare".  Unfortunately, it was more raw than anything, but I was famished so I ate it anyway.  Besides, it was difficult to get the attention of the server.  The burger itself had a large, meaty patty - probably a good half pound, which was a plus (otherwise I would have given this review one star instead of two).  It was served on an oblong-shaped egg bun, which was toasted.  I had asked for grilled onions, which were not grilled - barely heated, then put on the burger.  It also came with a slice of cheese.  Whoever cooked that hamburger was in a hurry.

I asked where the "condiment bar" was, and was directed to the end of the room, where I found many bottles of condiments on shelves.  Didn't see the rest of the bar until I asked if I could have some pickles.  The area with the pickles, kraut, and other items was rather hidden - it could have used a sign.

I requested potato salad with the burger - it was sweet (I hate sweet potato salad), it had mustard in it, and it also had pimentos - uck, three strikes for me (I realize this is a matter of personal taste).  I only ate a small portion of it.  Hopefully their fries are better.

The dining room was filled with families with small children.  It's probably a good place if you want to take the kids out for fried food at the end of a long week.

The many, varied types of memorabilia on the walls are old, tattered, faded, and need to be replaced.  I've been in many places like it (i.e. St. John's Infirmary in Mt. View, in its heydey) and this place just looks cluttered and tired.  Also, a note to the owner:  please replace the ugly signs in front of the restaurant, which I pass every day.  They are not pleasant or pretty. They are ugly and badly done.

Unfortunately I won't go back again.

This review states 3, but it is 3.5.

My mom and I decided to have a mother-daughter trip to the CA coast from 92 to Pescadero Beach. On our way back, we decided to stop by a random diner. I like random, as long as the Yelp review is decent. I make an illegal U-turn and park in the small lot.

My first impression of the restaurant was, "O! There's a tourist group here." I was thrown off by the random bus stationed in front. Well, we couldn't have asked for a better "random" place to eat lunch.

Once we stepped inside, I felt more confident that the place would go well with our stomachs. The restaurant is very clean. Although there's a lot going on at the bar, the clutter is what creates the ambiance. When you see what the newspapers clippings and photos up close, the history of Cameron's Restaurant is revealed to you.

Food: I had the Tuna melt with coleslaw and my mom had the house salad. I know I failed as a food connoisseur- I should have tried something risky. However, if the basic tuna melt was bad, then I wouldn't be able to trust any other food. The tuna salad was not bad, but I found it too small. There was about one can of tuna used in my sandwich and one large slice of cheese. I'd like to see some tomatoes in my sandwich. Or, a real tuna salad with celery, eggs, and onions. I ended up putting my coleslaw and some of my mom's salad into my sandwich.

The food was not bad it just lacked substance.

Besides my lame order of a tuna sandwich. I liked the place. I would come back if I am in the neighborhood.

    - Jess

    P.S Tuna + Coleslaw = Surprisingly good

This place really makes you feel as if you were in England (bus & all!).
I didnt care much for their homebrew but the food (informal) was tasty. Service was ok; waitresses could be more friendly and smile every now & then!
