I'm a big fan of thin crust pizza, interesting flavor combos, and chill vibe, and Cambridge 1 has all of the above. I had their potato pizza which was pretty tasty with 2 types of potatoes (sliced and mashed, chaos!). To be critical, it was a bit one-note and could have used something else (not sure what, maybe roasted red peppers or something?), but I'm a sucker for potatoes anyways so I was decently happy. Love the thin char-grilled crust (and the smell of the pizza cooking, mmm).

Service was standard, atmosphere was relaxed but classy, pitchers of beer are a plus. Menu is a bit limited, which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. I'm not adding Cambridge 1 to my regular rotation of restaurants, but I'd certainly be happy to go back if someone else suggested it and/or we were about to head over to a movie.

Mmm...the smell of charcoal right when you walk in, yummm.

I wanted to give this place 4 stars but I'm going to go with 3. The salad I got was very delicious (grilled chicken & romaine salad) but I wished there were more healthy/veg options on the menu instead of pizza. The ambiance was very nice but was dead on a Monday night. Service was spotty which should never be the case for a restaurant that only has a handful of guests.

Has a cool vibe though, I noted aloud that it had a more Harvard/Davis Square feel than Fenway. May repeat if I'm ever in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.

4.5 star pizza, 4 star ambiance, 2 star service.  Thanks to rounding, we've got ourselves a 4 star review.

If you're not able to get pizza cooked in a wood-fired clay or brick oven, get your pizza grilled.  You get the char of a Frank Pepe's and the flavor of a Santarpio's in about 3 or 4 minutes flat.

There are a wealth of pizza options that can be ordered in either a half or a whole, which is certainly a nice touch.  Why anyone would order a half, I don't know.  The downfall of the thin, delectable crust and artful, deliberate placement of toppings is that you'll need a whole to fill you.

You'll be eating your pizza in a very pleasant atmosphere, airy but dark, with LCDs above the bar showing whatever sport is on at the time.  It's certainly not crowded on a weeknight, but based on the location I could imagine it packs on weekends.

The only downfall was the service, in the form of a bemused waitress that forgot a pair of waters and couldn't muster a smile.  Forgivable, but it did take away from an otherwise excellent meal.

I'd recommend the place, as you will taste pizza you may have never tasted before.

My friend and I stopped here for dinner one night because we'd never been before and wanted to try something new.  It wasn't what I was expecting for the area and I was pleasantly surprised.  They have pretty unique pizza, I would recommend splitting and sharing so you can try more than one.  We went with the potato (#5) and the lobster (#10). They were both good although I especially enjoyed the potato and would definitely get it again.

I crave pizza all the time.  I think I finally found one I don't feel super guilty about eating!

Cambridge 1 is super thin crispy crust pizza with unique toppings.  My absolute favorite is the baby arugula pizza.  Omg I think my mouth is salivating right now.

I've gotten these for takeout too and people love them, but they tend to get cool fast because they are thin.  So just make sure you go in to get these!

So glad this is close to my house.  I think I found my new hangout!

They deserve their four stars  simply for their wicked good pizzas. Grilled pizzas are just amazing. Arugula Salad along with their Potato Pizza just makes me happy.

I like the interior of the restaurant but not so psyched about sharing table the cafeteria style. I have been there about three times and the service have not been so great at all. The server does not really check on us at all, at least every time I have been there.

I only make an exception to this place, good food overrides the below average service.

The only thing that would make this place 5 stars is if they served their pizzas by the slice.

This charcoal grilled thin crust pizza isn't topped by the traditional sauce and cheese. They have a great selection of toppings like lobster, arugala, and roasted onion.  My favorite by far is the potato pizza (#5). Pair that with the bibb lettuce salad and I've got the best lunch in Fenway.

Cambridge 1, is another restaurant from the creators of Audubon Circle, the Miracle of Science, Torry Row and the infamous Middlesex lounge.  With an open kitchen and tons of wood paneling, this place invokes a calming feeling while the sparks flying from the kitchen offers up some excitement.  Now when I say wood paneling, I'm not talking about 70's rumpus room wood paneling, we're talking about the good stuff.  Maybe its teak, maybe it's oak.  I have no idea.  All I know is, it's shiny and I want to touch it.

We were a large party so I had the opportunity to try several items.  The menu is simple.  We're talking salads, pizzas and a few pasta dishes, which I can appreciate as I can easily be distracted by large menus.  We started off our meal with three salads.  A Charcuterie plate, an arugula salad with some shaved parmesan and an heirloom tomato Neapolitan (a fancy caprese salad.)   The first two salads were pretty mediocre but the heirloom tomato salad really took it to the next level.  It might have been that aged balsamic that added the extra zing.  Then we got a bunch of different pizzas.  I had high hopes for the steak and gorgonzola pizza and was disappointed when the pizza came out with slices of roast beef instead of steak.  The steak and gorgonzola pizza also had a ton of arugula on it.  Personally I don't think green stuff belongs on a meat pizza.  Maybe you agree, maybe you don't but this is my review.  There was another pie that I loved.  It had roasted tomatoes and super flavorful caramelized onions. It was the best pizza of the night.  The sausage pizza was kind of a let down.  It had to be the blandest sausage I've ever eaten. I really enjoyed the super thin crust on all the pizzas.

After several salads and a slice or two I was pretty full.  Would I come back?  Sure but I've got a better idea of what to get this time around.

Cambridge 1, you are so nice, but your food suffers a little.

First off everyone should read my review of Burton's Grill next door because of the douchery that ensued when I tried to make barside reservations there for a cast party for a local venue's show.

We ended up coming here as a second choice to make reservations and your bar lady was so helpful and kind and said we could do whatever we wanted.  You didn't want a deposit for a table of 25+ and you said we could split checks to a certain extent.  Amazing!

We ended up being 42 people and took up nearly 1/2 of your restaurant, but no one batted an eyelash.  We all got our food in less than 25 minutes and no one's was cold or sent back for this or that.

That night I had the chicken balsamic salad.  The dressing is fab, but the chicken was super dry and unseasoned tasting.  The lettuce was fine and cut in large hunks so it wasn't like picking at a taco or cole slaw like most places these days.

Everyone seemed happy with their food choices for the most part, but many complained they lacked a little spice, flavor or the like.

The breadsticks were amazing and probably the most spicy/flavorful thing served that night.  They are cripsy cracker breadsticks with a parmesean sprinkle.  Delish!

There was an issue with our huge bill and the waitress didn't freak, she just calmly explained there might be an error and there was and it was one person's fault and she just said she knows how it goes and helped us out of the jam.   So she got mad tips over the 15% that she was guaranteed on the receipt, which is smart, but that line was so tiny it was ALMOST overlooked and that wouldnt' have been fair in the long run ya know?

I went back a week later and got dinner.  I got the half a chicken pizza.  it was okay.  Again very bland.  Not even the tomato sauce or the chicken was at all seasoned I'd guess and the mozz cheese was so tasteless.  It's not like I'm expecting fake Pizza Hut seasonings here, but throw a touch of garlic or some salt and pepper on, or better yet some rosemary and thyme Italian mix or something with some fresh basil.  It really filled me up though.

I had your bellini.  The mixture was off and the champagne isn't the right kind to mix with a peach syrup.  It was WAY too dry and salty and it just tasted like watered down champagne, unfortunately.

The Toscannini's tiramisu gelato dessert (their only dessert option) was simply okay.  You are pretty new over there, but the gelato was already deeply freezer burnt.  You should test the gelato everytime before you serve it, because I can't imagine it goes out that often seeing as the two times I was there I was the only person ordering it.  It was VERY stale and freezer tasting, but the overall flavor I could tell had probably been very good.  It was super rich and I couldnt' finish it all.

Overall.  I really respect what your'e doing here.  I love the simplistic furniture and open air kitchen and your waitstaff are all amazing, especially Winston.  But, hmm, I really wish you'd liven up your food.  There seem to be a few loose ends.  From a frequent pizza eater your pizza falls at about a one star out of five, but your atmosphere and service and the conceptual idea of how your place should be is like a 6 out of five, so I'm going to balance my review at a 3.

If you want a beer and a quick app.  This is the place before our after games or if you're just in the neighborhood.

I've not yet had their fantastic sounding pizzas, but what a great place to go when you want to have a tasty beer at the bar.  I really liked the minimalistic feel of the decor and our bartender was great.  Although their beer list is not huge, they do offer some decent selections on draft like Wachusett Country Ale and Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA.  I'm definitely going to try their pizza next time I'm in the neighborhood.

I've been twice now and it's just as tasty! The menu is limited to pizza and salad mostly but the flatbread pizza is amazing! I've had the lobster, the bolognese, and the mushroom - the mushroom was the best. They have a nice selection of beers and the price isn't bad. The only dessert is tiramisu ice cream (I'm pretty sure) but it is right next to berryline so you can hop in there too.

Definitely a solid choice for a relaxed, easy meal before or after a movie--or if you're just in Fenway and glad to finally have some more eating options besides a dire steak house.  The pizza's pretty good, the atmosphere has got a simple cosmopolitan feel, and there are lots of interesting beers.  I gave it an extra star for outdoor seating and very easy going staff.

My friend and I spent our weekly "let's go somewhere new" night at Cambridge 1. Living in Fenway, I was worried it would be the typical Red Sox crowd, small kids and a stuffy atmosphere. I was shocked to find this new addition to the Fenway community is a great place to hit the spot- without the boringness of cheese pizza. Definitely order a few types- and split them with everyone you are with. You'll learn a little of all is better than a lot of one! The atmosphere is very rustic and casual- but doesn't feel like you're sitting in College Pizza. Plus- the beer menu is impressive.

As a fan of the Cambridge outpost for years, I was so happy when I saw how close this one was to the Fenway Theaters.  It's exactly what that area needed.  I love that this Cambridge 1 is so much bigger than the original, making scoring a table before or after a movie not such a daunting task.  I do wish both places would offer a special now and then or mix up the menu once in a while, but the old standbys (mushroom and caramelized onions or potato pizza yum) are satisfying nonetheless.

Really it's proximity to the movie theater is the biggest draw, and it makes me want to see my mainstream movies at Fenway now rather than at Boston Common theater.

Where do you want to go after the game?  Cambridge 1.  The pizza isn't really pizza.  By no means is this a pizza place.  If your looking for a more typical dish here get a #6.  I just try something new everytime though. They have suprised me with stuff I didn't think I'd like before so I'll give anything here a chance.  The bartender-manager Willy is a good guy.  He knows a good cigar and a good bottle of wine. (They don't sell cigars but I know this just from chewing the fat with the guy.)  I am a firm believer that the people working in a place like this determine how enjoyable the experience will be, more than the decor, the beer and wine selection, or even the food.  This place stands out because everyone is very friendly, and they make it a point the make sure your happy.
They also have a little outdoor seating section for good weather which is a huge plus because you can pass gas out there and no one will notice.  One negative comment I could make about this place is it will take a little while from when you sit down to when they take your order if your not at the bar, but once they do get your order service is prompt, and friendly.  I will definitely be back soon.
Try the wings. 5 stars.

Stopped by for pizza and drinks after a flick. Service was SLOW but it was just one waitress who didn't seem all that energized. Pizza was the frou frou thin crust variety (i.e. not REAL pizza). Menu was very limited to pizza, pasta, and salads. Would it kill them to offer some apps?

Inside was nice with the wooden booths and open kitchen. HDTVs are a nice touch. Overall, nothing memorable or worth the trip. Next.

After dinner, why not enjoy a night cap or two.

You walk in and its sort of empty.  Of course its a Wednesday night. The place smells like an ignauna's cage according to my bf.  It did smell a bit odd.

The decor , wood panelling and steel fridges- it feels like you are sitting in someones kitchen.  I love it!
The beer selection here is awesome. they have Wolaver's Oatmeal Stout ( soo so sooo yummy!!)
Seranac Promengranate Wheat, wow yum!
and of course you can go wrong with Dogfish Head 60 min IPA.

I love how they dont have the usual bud/budweisers here.  They do however have Coors on draft!
But you can also fancy that up by getting a demi citron/ demi peche which is made with Coors and teisseire sirop.

Our bartender was cool . Just a regular Joe.
a nice place.  They also play great music, from Beck to Cat Empire to Kings of Leon.

This would be a great stop before a Sox Game.

I f--kin' love this place. My low expectation might have helped to grant 5 stars but... I had a great time.

First, I was little worried by that they didn't have any appetizer. So we decided to have "baby arugula, shaved asiago, simple italian dressing" salad instead.

Yes, it was a bit pricey for salad. Quantity wasn't so big, but if you shift your appreciation to freshness and taste, I thought that pricing was fair. It was nicely chilled and crispy fresh. Dressing wasn't overwhelming hence I was still able to enjoy the flavor of actual produce.

For pizza, we ordered full size of  "italian sausage, ricotta, tomato, fontina". One reviewer complained this dish had too much sausage. But I found the quantity of sausage was very generous and never be too much of sausage if you ask for one.

The dough was nice and chewy. It could be my personal preference, but I love chewy pizza dough. Of course, the edge crust was crispy. That is a "must".

We were satisfied but that first dish made us wanted more. And we ordered "grilled chicken, roasted red pepper, mozzarella, romano". This was also absolutely gorgeous.

Their beer selection is also something I praise about. They have pretty good quantity of local micro brew.  I had a Wachusett Country Ale and it tasted great.

First I was a bit worried when I found the size of menu being small. But I later felt that they did great job to refine the selection and they did not miss my need at all.

Good beer, refreshing salad and great pizzas... I am so happy to find such a great joint in my neighborhood.

If I had known sooner that Cambridge 1 was owned by the same group that opened Audobon, there's a good chance that I would have made a beeline in here even sooner. In many ways, the two places are very similar- a sleek, clean, dark, modern aesthetic; a simple menu that tries to be the best at what it is, rather than something for everybody; a good drink list with an above average selection of beers and wines. Both restaurants also have some of the nicest, cleanest bathrooms I have ever seen, which is obviously never a bad thing.

My girlfriend and I split a pizza that was half grilled chicken, roasted red pepper, mozzarella, romano and half portobello, roasted onion, asiago. Service was extremely prompt, and the pizza was in front of us within about 10 minutes. While very tasty, the crust was probably just a bit too thin for the substantial amount of toppings it was supporting. The chicken and mozzarella really stood out from the one half, while the onions came close to dominating the other side- the best way to describe it would be french onion soup on a crust. Of course, as someone who loves french onion soup, I have no complaints whatsoever.

All told, definitely somewhere that I would go back to (especially before a Sox game) and a nice addition to the Fenway area.

Pizza grill meets neighborhood hangout in Fenway. Gourmet pizza's are prepared on a charcoal grill.
My Take:  This very chic minimalist restaurant is decorated in wood paneling and black slate counters. Two flat panel TVs  above a small bar will keep in you informed of up to the minute sports happenings. Decent beer section and prices that will keep enough change in your pocket for the $8 beers at nearby Fenway. What makes Cambridge 1 good is that it's completely different from that of every other place in Boston.

It looks cool - long high tables, dim "mood" lighting, lotsa gleaming wood, and they serve pizza.  But it's not that big ol' North End style stuff, it's pretty pizza.  You know, thin crust with toppings that mostly end in vowels and belong in salad bowls .... raddichio, arugula, and garden sorrel (!?).

I tried two pizzas:    potato, fontina, parmigiano, romano, rosemary, garlic
And:    grilled steak and cherry tomatoes, gorgonzola, arugula

Amazingly. the potato pizza was light, crispy, flavorful, and 5 different kinds of awesome.

The steak pizza was chewy, bland, and had WAY too much arugula which was soft, wilted, and did I mention bland?  For an amazing Steak/Gorgo pizza get thee to Upper Crust.  It's MUCH better...

I haven't tried the salads, but judging by the one heaped on top of my steak pizza, I'm not totally sure I want to...

The waitstaff was all young, hip, and pretty - but I don't think they're that impressed with the place either.  I noticed the host sitting at the front desk doing his homework, as we were leaving.   Note:  he was a music student, and all table-waiting, restaurant-working musicians deserve a free pass ... it's a law.

Ultimately, a good place ... not thrilling, but good.

I loved the smell of the wood burning stoves.
The decor is very basic, if not a little cold.  The pizza was fine, but for the price I was expecting a lot more.  There were 2 of us and we got 2 1/2 pizzas, and there were no left-overs.  The taste was ok, but not very memorable - maybe we just ordered the wrong ones.
I wish I had tried a salad too, and probably would get one if I return.
The service was pretty good, and since it wasn't too busy they were cool with just letting us sit and talk for a while - which I love.

I was here for an event.  I didn't choose the place, but when I read reviews of it I was excited.  I'm all for atypical pizzas, and I was psyched to see a pizza with potatoes on the menu.

And boy, was I disappointed.  They had reserved a section for our group, but provided not nearly enough seating in it for us.  The pizzas were okay, but with crusts not thick enough to support the toppings - so eating standing up wasn't really an option.  They also couldn't keep up with our group...we were a LARGE group, which I'm sure they knew well in advance, and they were far too slow to refill the water pitchers, salads, and pizzas available to us.  When you know about a group that large coming a month in advance, you ought to be more prepared for it.

The pizzas were fine, but you're better off heading to Bella Luna in JP if you're looking for pizza with a twist, good service, and far better atmosphere.

My mom and I needed some place to eat before the game.  Some place that didn't take to long, (however, that ended up not being important, since we spent the next 2 and a half hours sitting on bleachers, cold and wet) and some place that was cheap.  I'd never been to Cambridge 1 before, so we decided to go.

First thing, this place reminds me of Za's in Arlington.  The only things on their menu are pizza and salads.  Again, doesn't seem like this place should have waiter service, but it does.  The place is nice enough; half of their tables are elevated, which is kind of cool.  I didn't really like the tables though, because they were like long picnic-like tables, and therefore, one party would be on one side, and the other on the opposite side.  I'm one of those people that doesn't like it when I'm sitting right on top of another party.  It's just awkward for me.  Oh well...

Our server was pretty nice, and looking at their drink menu, noticed that they had Woodchuck's Granny Smith Cider! So I grabbed one of those.  My Mom and I decided to share the chicken with mozzarella and roasted red peppers.  It was $15.00, which is a pretty decent price.

Our pizza came really quick, but I noticed that a handful of other tables got what looked like mini-breadsticks.  We did not get any =( Oh well, no need to add to my gluttony.

The pizza was.....good.  It was REALLY thin pizza.  The thing with thin thin crust pizza, is that it gets burnt really easily, and unfortunately for Cambridge 1, this pizza was a tad burnt.  Still edible though.  Not the best I've had.  To add to it, while heading to the bathroom, it goes by the open kitchen, and I got a big whiff of burned pizza.  Eh.

My mom seemed to enjoy the pizza, however she still made me eat half of her half -_-

Verdict: Probably won't come back here in a hurry, but over all, pretty good.  They need to adjust the time they have their pizza in the oven, or they need to have thicker crust.

I am a huge fan of the Portabello/Onion pizza - I was really impressed with how quick, low key, and inexpensive Cambridge 1 was without looking like a typical hole-in-the-wall pizza place.  I'm from the suburbs of NYC where pizza is an art, and whenever I think of good food in Boston I pretty much put pizza at rock bottom.  However, restaurants like Upper Crust and Cambridge 1 are the exception to the rule.  And they serve alcohol! Wonderful.

Only awkwardness is that the tables are huge and so they double up on tables.  It's not that I mind sharing a table with people, but it just depends on the other patrons. As long as they give you some space it's no problem.

Wahooo!! When it comes to good pizza this place is the balls!! I love a thin crusted pizza and here the crust always has the perfect crunch! I must also say that I was impressed with the beer selection. I like going to a place and seeing things I have never tried before. But what I love about Cambridge 1 is that while it is just a pizza joint, its stands above and beyond the caliber of the usual pizza place because of its atmosphere and decor.

The high bench seats and over-sized tables are fun to sit at. I kinda like when my legs dangle from the seat. A little flashback to 1st grade is always cool!! There are high ceilings with track lighting, huge flat screens with some game on, a large window space to watch whats going on in the kitchen, and very friendly clean looking crew.

Just an overall good time at Cambridge 1. Rock on.

Hands down my new favorite place to go in the Fenway area.  It's a total hidden gem in a sea of everything-else-is-a-sports bar/grill.  We went here before a game on Friday night -- getting in right after work.  Our hostess greeted us with a warm smile & seated us immediately.
The waitress was just as friendly -- suggesting a Wachusett Country Ale for me to try.

I must say, while I was expecting something like Bud Light & Sam Adams on tap, I was pleasantly surprised that besides Coors Light, the taps were filled with local favorites like Brooklyn Lager & Wachusett.  They do, however, have a long list of bottled beer (& at $4.50-5 you'll def. want to try them all).

The decor is minimalist industrial & totally welcoming.  The softness of the wood benches & walls makes the concrete floors seem less harsh.  The tables brought me back to the days of 7th grade science & experimenting on preserved frogs -- it's that sort of stone.  The tables are big enough for six, but intimate enough for 2.  There is also some outdoor seating, which would be great for a lunch break.

I absolutely love the openness of the floor plan, too!  It is wicked cool that you can see them grilling up your pizza & the smell of the charcoal is one that summer can never forget.

We ordered 1/2 potato & 1/2 chicken & roasted peppers (our waitress let us know we could mix 'em up).  Both were absolutely delish!  The ingredients were so fresh I could swear they went out in the garden in the back to pick the herbs & peppers.  While it was enough food for both of us, it was light enough that when we left, we weren't in a total food coma.

If you like Salad, Pizza, Wine and Beer, you are in luck, because this is all these guys have on the menu. This place is probably most effective for an early night cap and late bite to eat.

The food is good, if not a bit too expensive, with a few pizzas lacking great flavor.  I definitely dig the wood/stainless steel vibe they have going on as well.

I'd go back, but I wouldn't be too enthusiastic about it.

I've come to Cambridge 1 a few times with some friends to eat the yummy (but decidedly nontraditional) pizzas.  The potato is my personal favorite, but the others have gotten good reviews from my dining companions as well.

The atmosphere is pretty cool and the tables are nice.  It can get crowded during games since for some unexplainable reason people want to watch the game on TV in crowded Fenway instead of staying in their own less crowded neighborhood, but whatever.  Even when it's been crazy in there I've always had good and fairly speedy service.

Cambridge 1 is a style-over substance pizzeria and I'm sure they don't care that I say that - they play by their own rules here. I mean, it's not exactly pizza they serve here and with this new location, Cambridge 1 isn't exactly in Cambridge anymore. Nope, it's now in Fenway - confusing.

So instead of typical pizza, what you get here are tasty freshly-cooked flatbreads with enough toppings on them to just about warrant being called pizza. I suppose you could classify them as Californian-style... gourmet pizza topped with non-traditional ingredients, especially fresh produce (arugula is used a ton here). You can blame Wolfgang Puck for popularizing this style in the 80s and 90s.

Now, I'm not a huge fan of Californian pizza - you get much smaller portions and you have to deal with some freaky shit like potato on your pizza - but these pizza-things were actually pretty tasty, and at $7 a go, I could be back here for lunch more often.

Where Cambridge 1 really excels though is style. Coming from the group that gave us Middlesex and Audubon, you get what's expected -  sleek interior and a great modern finish. They serve wine and beer and even have an outdoor area. Too many places in Boston fore-go their appearance and concentrate on the food. I forgive Cambridge 1 for doing it the other way round, Boston needs more style ASAP.

I knew this was a pizza place but I thought it was a BBQ joint as I walked in. It smelled smoky and all the booths and tables were made from unfinished wood.

I was the only one in the place besides the employees. I sat at the bar and the bartender was professional and knowledgeable; he sold me on the hot cherry, pepper, black forest ham, and manchega pizza which I ate every crumb of. I'd definitely return to try their other pizza concoctions. Bonus: they have chili olive oil to put on the pizza!!!!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen.  I got Rick Rolled at Cambridge 1.  Good thing the particularly hideous collection of 80s music (even I have a couple of secret shame 80s tunes that I adore, but that night's music was mind-numbing) was the only low point of my experience.

1. normally i'm all about the crust.  i'll take a deep dish sicilian over a thin-crust pizza pie almost any day.  but my last experience at cambridge 1 (which was actually my second experience, but who's counting) was so deliciously amazing that when that flatbread craving strikes, they'll unquestionably be atop my craving-killer list.

we shared the chicken + roasted pepper pizza and the arugula salad - and were very satisfied if not sliiiiightly stuffed afterward.  the crispy crust paired with the gooey discs of REAL mozzarella cheese (the kind that floats in water, not the kind that's sprinkled with some strange chemical powder to keep it from sticking together), light olive oil, smoky roasted peppers, and perfectly seasoned chicken was great.  and plus points for their signature sprinkle of scallions on their pizzas right before bringing them to the table.

though quite delectable separately, the two dishes also tasted great together (a little salad rolled up in a piece of the pizza).  mmmm!

2. accompanied by a pomegranate beer.  pretty good!  the fruit flavor was extremely subtle, but it could've simply been because the food was so flavorful i didn't have anything left in my tastebuds.

3. i dig the decor.  dark lighting, high stone tables, and open view of the kitchen (you can hear and see the flames!).  all the cooks were wearing redsox caps, which was more warm-fuzzy of an homage than obnoxious.

all in all, i really like it here and would heartily recommend.

The first time I went to a Cambridge 1 was in Harvard Square and I had a relatively fine experience.  I was pretty excited when one opened in Fenway, just blocks from my house because I figured since people LOVE this place, my one mediocre experience must have been a fluke.  Unforunately, it wasn't.  I don't love the pizza; the most recent one I had was sausage and there was just WAY too much sausage on it.  Also, their sauce is not really saucy, but tomato-y and for someone who HATES tomatoes (it's a seed thing---don't ask), it was really hard to eat this pizza without getting grossed out or without stripping the entire thing if all of its toppings.

I also ordered a salad which was really expensive and was literally a wedge of iceberg lettuce.  I have had some really good, really creative wedge salads in my life, but this was neither.

I would much rather go to Upper Crust or Pizza-Pier anyday.

I wandered in here one night with a few friends because we needed somewhere to watch the sox and this was the emptiest place around.

Cambridge 1 ended up being a cute little place and I've been back a couple times since.  I strongly suggest the demi peche to drink and either the potato or rosemary chicken pizzas. Both deelish!

Am I missing something here? I rarely find myself so significantly straying from popular opinion.

The pizza is cooked on flat-bread. Some may like this, I found it messy, textureless, and rather tasteless. I struggled with the menu for quite some time before picking #3. This place must be getting kick-backs from the onion industry since almost every one of their pizzas comes with caramelized onions (which for the record are tasteless and probably made with water and not stock).

Service was snappy and my pizza arrived fast food fast. I noticed quickly it was sparsely decorated with tomato sauce and cheese. But the onions were piled high. I must admit the scallions added after baking were a good touch since almost nothing else had any flavor and the spotty sauce and cheese coverage required some redistribution on my part. Maybe I had a fluke, so I tried both of my friend's pizzas - a #2 and #5. Both of which were rather bland and messily thrown together.

Their pizzas have no crust, and for crust aficionados like myself I found this very disappointing. Some may like this choice. But between poor combinations, bad distribution of said toppings, and an overall tasteless mushiness this place doesn't impress me. Not even the red pepper flakes and chili oil could save this gastronomical disaster.

The food here certainly gets points for using fresh ingredients. Something like this is very appreciated in the pizza world. However, I fail to see the creative side  of this place when someone can get far more innovative (and sometimes questionable) combinations at California Pizza Kitchen or the Upper Crust.

I will say I was happily surprised with their bottled beer menu. My Allagash White was the highlight of my meal. But I think in the future I'll get my pretentious pizza elsewhere even if I have to deal with not having such a great selection of craft brews.

I've enjoyed the Harvard Square location in the past, but I wasn't in a huge rush to get to the restaurant's Fenway location and I finally went here for dinner this week. I was a little underwhelmed with the experience. While the space was beautiful-looking (rich wood, pressed concrete, etc), the acoustics are insane -- the space was about half-full (granted, there were a few tables of 6 people who were chatting up a storm), but with the music blaring and general kitchen din, the waitress had to basically yell to be heard over the echoing noise. We didn't get the delicious breadsticks until our entrees were already on the table, which makes me think either the bread service is too slow or the meal service is too quick -- I'm actually going to lean toward the latter. While I appreciate a restaurant with a quick order-to-eat timespan as much as the next person, this experience made me question how much tender love and care actually went into my meal. And as soon as I put down my fork, the server took our plates and dropped the check, without questioning if we wanted dessert or another round. It's not like the place was really crowded -- what was the rush? As a party of two, we were in-and out in 25 minutes flat -- so much for a relaxing night out.
With that said, the food is good and decently priced -- the pizza crust is a little bland, but hey, if they spent even 2 more minutes putting some spice in the dough, it might be better. All of the ingredients are high-quality and taste fresh. Props for having a glass of rose on the menu (a fave in the summer). I'm sure I'll make it back here eventually, but again, I'm in no rush.

My husband and I  this place. I love it because they will make a pizza for me with half no cheese (I have a dairy allergy) and they have good wine. My husband loves it because of the tiramisu ice cream, the good pizza and the beer selection. But the prices are great and the bartender-manager is super nice...love this place :)

I have only ever eaten here at lunchtime during the work week, and all I can say is how shocked I am that it is always so empty! Especially since the food is really good and not all that expensive compared to Burton's next door.

Today I went with my whole department and we ordered about five pizzas off the menu and three salads for us all to share. So today I go to sample a wide variety of their food and I have to say, I liked it all! We had the steak and arugula pizza, the portabello, the classic, the potato, and the chicken and pepper pizza.

The menu is very simple but has something that should please everyone, and the rich flavors that go into the pizzas and salads are in great contrast the the overall look of the restaurant, which is minimalist to say the least. You basically feel as if you are in a sauna but without the heat and humidity. The walls are all rich wood and the tables are black slabs of slate. There is a tv by the bar and no paintings, so there is very little to distract you from your meal and company.

The service was very friendly, but we did not get refills on water which I could have used since I was being very liberal with the application of red pepper flakes and chili oil that was on the table!

The pizzas I tried were really yummy and my favorite thin crust!!!!  I had one complaint.  I ordered a steak pizza with greens and there were too many greens and not enough steak on the pizza.  It was delicious, but a disappointment for a meat lover like myself.  I also tried the chicken pizza and it was really good.
