You know those disaster or alien invasion movies (i.e. Independence Day, War of the Worlds, Armageddon), where the roads and freeways are filled with bumper-to-bumper traffic because everyone is scared and running away? Well, this place was the exact opposite on Black Friday. Everyone was trying to get in! It was an absolute mess.

That being said, I'm glad we parked further away where there were plenty of parking spaces available. Yeah, the layout is whack. Everyone was trying to squeeze into the "main" section where the more popular stores are located. It doesn't hurt to walk, people. Burn some calories. I guess people are too lazy after a 5k calorie-filled prior night of gobble gobble gluttony.

I dislike shopping, and I loathe crowds. But in this case, shopping on Black Friday was inevitable. This was my first visit here, and I actually give this place the edge over Cabazon and Carlsbad. There were some brands that I hadn't seen anywhere else. Of course, it's all about your personal shopping preference. Overall, it's a nice stop if you're in the credit card sliding mode, especially going to or from Santa Barbara.

Camarillo Outlets aren't only a place you can consume for prices closer to what the product is actually worth without the mark up but, also a place where you can really see what America is all about, for better or for worse depending on your perspective.

From my perspective:
Reinforcing my firm support of birth control and family planning.
Healthy nutrition education.
Consumerists miss the meaning of the holidays.
Waste and excess.
I'm the Xmas Grinch.
How I could design the perfect freaking parking lot compared to the nincompoops who designed the Outlets.

I guess I should not have come at the end of the traditional shopping weekend, but scheduling sort of prevented going at any other time. Actually I expected the crowds to be a lot worse, and they were bad, but the parking situation is even worse. Take my advice, and don't try to park in the middle, park in the back lots and walk, you'll save yourself a head ache.

I generally hate shopping, but like I said there is something so satisfying about getting a product for half the price, closer to what it might actually be worth. It's like sticking it to the man, F-U Banana Republic I'm stealing your clothes and denying you that excess markup cash!

PS OMG they have Le Creuset and Merrill!

If you had a choice between Desert Hills Premium Outlets and Camarillo Premium Outlets, which would you pick?

1.  Camarillo has the only Off Fifth Saks Ave outlet in Southern California that carries high-end products such as Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Dior, and Louboutin.  The location at Desert Hills does not.

2.  Camarillo also has the nearest Neiman Marcus' Last Call outlet from Los Angeles.  Deserts Hills does not.

3.  Camarillo also just opened a huge ass Forever 21.  Desert Hills did not.

I think it's obvious who the winner is.

This place actually made it worth searching for a parking spot for 45 minutes on Black Friday. Yes, despite the driving nightmare and the long lines (even to get INTO the stores), the deals here made it absolutely worth it. Additional percentages off of already discounted merchandise? Let's just say I made out like a very smart and fashionable bandit.

I used to HATE coming here with the parentals when I was younger aka when I didn't know what shopping was. But now that I'm all grown up, I realize that this place is the closest thing to heaven- especially during major sale events. They have Saks Fifth, Barneys (marc jacobs & lucca couture = love), Neiman Marcus Last Call, Burberry, Betsey Johnson, American Apparel (striped sweaters ftw), J Crew, Gap, Pac Sun, a HUGE Forever 21 (coming soon), Uggs, Coach, Aldo, Papaya, Charlotte Russe, Calvin Klein, Puma, Guess, Aeropostale... and I'll stop there before I start listing the directory (as if I haven't listed half the stores already). But those are just a few of the stores I could remember off the top of my head after doing some hardcore midnight shopping on Black Friday. It's suitable for all ages, all income families, and all fashion styles. It's a good size for an outlet and they have huge lots for parking so no worries there. Definitely a good day trip out when in need of a shopping splurge, PLUS there's an in-n-out right around the corner. Now who wouldn't want a nice burger meal after a full day of shopping!

In general, I avoid outlet malls as they are usually depressing. Stuff no one wants goes to small town USA, and motor homes roll in to consume. Peeps from all walks of life converge and usually, the store are over-picked and filthy.

However, today I made an exception because I needed something made by Nike which I didn't feel like ordering off the web. So, we headed down the PCH and cut over threw fields of tomatoes and artichokes to Camarillo's Premium Outlets.

Wow! I was shocked. This is really a nice outlet mall. No mobile homes! The stores were full of happy people (note: it wasn't the weekend), and the merchandise seemed neat and orderly. I didn't hit every store, but needed a few other items like gifts being brought to Japan.

After buying what seemed to be a ton of merchandise from the Nike store and having only a $117 tab, we proceeded to hit Coach, Adidas, Restoration Hardware, Hugo Boss, Polo and a few others.

At this point, we were shopped out. The car was loaded and I knew I'd be cleaning out my closet. We missed Barney's, Neiman's, Sak's and a few others just because we were exhausted.

The only reason this mall doesn't get 5 stars, is no food. Sure, there's a Subway, but I was astonished to find no coffee chains, or food spots to take a break. As Outlet Malls go, this has to be one of the best I've seen other than Destin Florida, which sports a beautiful outlet mall-(with food).

Been coming to this Outlet for years.. Now when we come, we know which store we need to go to and we go in and out.. No more walking through the entire mall and wasting the entire day there. It's a great outlet because it has a lot of brand names shops. Coach, Saks, and Barney's is some of the main ones I go to. But Keep in mind some of the stores doesn't really have the cheapest prices. You just have to know the prices before you determine whether its a deal or not. And these days, stores like Coach, Gap and Bannana republic makes items just for their outlet stores only. And sometimes Quality may not be as good.

Food court sucks though! No Starbucks?!?! How could that be? lol

The outlets are pretty good!! there's a nice variety of stores. i like the Coach outlet the best :) There's also a sony store and many other unconventional outlet stores.

There isn't much of a selection of food places. So if that's your thing then these outlets aren't for you.

The prices are reasonable, but not any better than the clearance rack at most of the actual stores.

Stopped here with the wife on a Thursday afternoon while on our way to Santa Barbara.  Wife needed an outfit (dress, shoes, + purse) for a wedding and I wanted new bball shoes to compensate for my lack of game.  The outlet consists of 3 separate outdoor sections that spans nearly 3/4 mi where you get nearly anything under the sun.  That and the combination of us being limited in time and the lack of weekend deal hunting hordes inspired us to shop the outlet by car.  Instead of burning time walking between stores we wanted to check out, we saved time by driving and parking in front of the stores instead.  I think we did the whole outlet, all 3 sections, in about 1 hour.

Bonus; If you have AAA, go to management office before you get your shop on to get extra discount coupons for select stores.

This is a great and huge outdoor outlets. We came here on Thursday afternoon, so it was not as crowded as the weekends, and made the experience quite pleasant. They have great selections of stores and prices. Definitely would recommend to anybody to come especially during a weekday (off peak). It makes it easy for you to park right in front of the store you want to go to... =) Don't forget to use your AAA card to get the coupon book!

The only thing that I can think of that is simultaneously depressing and fun is outlet shopping. Outlets are sort of like a no man's land of foreign tourists, food courts populated with shady food vendors you've never heard of, and retail store sales personnel that you might find hanging out at a rest-stop McDonald's at three in the morning on a Tuesday.

That said, the Camarillo Outlets are among the best I've ever been to. I enjoy going to the Carlsbad outlets, and this is like one notch up from those. This place is ginormous, probably a good two to three mile walk if you were to course the entire perimeter. The Camarillo Outlets have all the usual suspects of good outlet stores (Gap, Banana, J. Crew, Nine West and Coach) that I normally love, and then some. It's sort of a hike to get up to this place from Orange County (I felt like the drive was at least more than halfway to Santa Barbara), but we got some good bargains. I don't know if we'll be back anytime soon, but it was definitely a sight to see, possibly the grand mutha of all outlet malls.

You have to shop around for the bargains. It's not like you go and every store has a bargain.

I was there about four weeks ago. Now that I'm a better bargain shopper, i can tell when it's a good deal and a bad deal.

Pretty much you have to go to the clearance rack to still look for a good deal. I found things at Ross that are better priced than the actual "outlet" store.

I had to hunt and go through all the clearance racks on Gap Outlet just two find a good bargain like $3.00 and $6.00 blouses. To me that's what an outlet should be.

Some of these places are ridiculous because the prices are more expensive or just as expensive as their retail stores. Not worth my gas nor my time.

I will only go when I want to get distracted and feel like shopping to a huge brand name mall. That's all it is.

When I  need to impress someone who is into the ghetto coach crap then I will go there, because coach actually does have the bargains. So girls if you feel like spending your welfare check on coach purses go there and save yourself some extra bucks to buy your children something. Buy coach because you like it not to impress your ghetto fabulous friends that you can afford one. EWw I'm getting off the subject..

Outlet? Please. They shouldn't even call it that. Stick with Ross or TJ MAXX your better off finding bargains there unless like I said you feel like going through the clearance. Then it could be very well worth your time.

Why two stars then? Well because it's huge. they do have allot of brand name stores and Pretzel dogs are good.

Now can any one tell me of a good outlet store? That has outlet prices...

Friend: Hey Oscar...it's been awhile.
Me: Indeed it has my good friend. too long, i would say.
Friend: Then let's hangout man...you doing anything today?
Me: You're in luck my good friend...it's my day off. You still live in Camarillo?
Friend: Yup. We'll figure out what we will do when you get here.

[I arrive at my friend's home]

Me: Ok, so what are we doing? First of all...what the hell is there to do in Camarillo? other than eat crappy Mexican food, have a shake at In-N-Out and go to the outlets?
Friend: Fuck you man...there's more to Camarillo than just those fuckin' outlets. Let's go have lunch.

[We ate lunch at a decent Mexican restaurant]

Me: It's early man...where can we go?
Friend: ......
Me: Well, what the shit man?! What are we going to do?!!
Friend: We can chill at the house...or just go to those fuckin' outlets

HA!!! Suck it friend!!! There is nothing to do in Camarillo other than the damn Outlets!!! And in no way am i dissing the lovely city of Camarillo, for it's also a great place to make a pit stop on the way to Santa Barbara.

I have visited many outlets in my life...for i am Mexican. My mom always made it a priority to stop at any Outlet mall on the way to Vegas...actually we stopped at any visible Outlet mall in just about every family road trip. The Camarillo Premium Outlets aren't that bad. I have found some good deals on dress shirts and ties in stores such as Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic.

Most people visit The Gap outlet store, but i rarely find any good clothes there. Seriously...Gap Outlet stores usually carry those clothing ideas that sound good at first, but when they are actually made, they look pretty damn bad. But, they sometimes have decent clothes. The Adidas store is a bit disappointing, as well as the Puma store. But the Nike Factory Store is sweet, and you could find some good bargains on running shoes and other gear.

There are many, many stores in Camarillo. There is plenty of parking, and there is also a food court, but i have not tried any of the restaurants there.

If you are dire need of clothes (especially dress clothes), then i recommend you get in your DeLorean, gun it to 88 MPH on the 101 N and go to Camarillo.

My favorite place to shop.  Deals are decent for holidays, parking is a bit of a pain so get there early or wear sneakers so your feet don't hurt from the walking.  I recommend taking someone with you to tag team (one of you stands in line while the other browses the store).  Weather is always perfect.

Eateries in the food court absolutely suck from prices to the quality.  Avoid the food-court adjacent bathroom at lunch.  Leave for lunch and come back to better parking.

Want higher end shops?  Go to Cabazon if you're not afraid of melting.

This isn't my most favorite outlet in CA, but it's definitely got a few stores that you usually don't see elsewhere.

Juicy Couture, Saks Fifth, and Barney's have outlets here.  Pretty expensive outlets here, especially in the Main Court.  Fashion Court does have a lot of cool outlets that I can usually hit up -- Guess, Gap, Nike, Kenneth Cole, DKNY, Adidas, Polo, etc.  It seems to also be the more popular side.

Oh and their Wetzel Pretzel.  Always a stop for me when shopping here.

Parking is horrendous on the weekends when they're at their busiest.  You won't have any luck reparking, so make sure you're bringing comfortable shoes.

This outlet is pretty much equidistant to the Cabazon outlet stores from where I live. Even with the same mileage, I would definitely prefer going to the Cabazon stores.

We made a pit stop here for some power shopping on the way to Santa Barbara. Sunday afternoons are a bitch when it comes to parking, but we found a spot pretty fast. It's been a few years since my last visit to the Camarillo oulets, and they've added a few stores, but still missing a few of my favorites. :(

No Burberry store. Bah. They DO have a Kate Spade store tho, which the Cabazon outlets should add immediately. Layout of this outlet is not too crazy. They separate the stores into 2 different sections: the "main" shopping area, and the other one is "fashion" or something like that. Haha, I forgot what they're really called. :/

This is an outdoor mall, and the size is huge.  So be prepared to drive to the stores you want.  It maximizes shopping time, and saves your legs for serious shopping.  I've only ever been during the weekdays and it's always been warm up there and it has never been crowded.  also, the staff in each store I went into were all friendly - no attitudes.  Which makes a nice change of pace from the LA retail scene.

There are great deals to be found here, but make sure you stay focussed as there are plenty of other items that don't have the "outlet" bargain prices.  I've been here twice now and plan to go back again in a month.  We got Banana Republic logo tees for $8.  These Tees are excellent quality.  The last one I got from here a year ago still looks new, is sooo soft and never needs ironing.
We also hit Calvin Klein.  Once again, look for the sale items and you'll be sure to get a great deal.  I got 2 hats from here for $20.  A nice fedora and an army style cap. Quality was excellent and so was the price.  Their tees were pricey.  Once again, Ross and Marshalls, even Costco, for better deals on Tees.  But for other items, this store is great.
We also hit up DKNY who had 2 for one specials. My frined and I got a Tee each and got them for $20 per tee instead of $40.   But not that many great deals.  Ralph Lauren was expensive.  I'd avoid it and just stick to Ross and Marshalls for better deals.
Lastly, the makeup stores are great to save a few extra bucks on makeup.  I loaded up on MAC.  Also they have the small sized testers which make great gifts.  Like estee lauder, clinique, Lancome.  Got juicy tubes 2 for $4

Why not 5*****?  The food court is pretty bad. And not all stores have great deals.

As long as you stay focussed on getting a deal, you'll find some gems at Camarillo Outlets.

I used to live in the valley, but grew up in Santa Barbara so I made many trips there during my high school years. On my way home from Santa Barbara, I would always make a pit stop here to do a little shopping. It was THE place to shop for me. I hadn't been in years, but finally made my way out there yesterday. I was looking forward to the Esprit store the most. I didn't realize they had expanded! They have a whole new set of stores in an area called The Promenade, which is next to the main premium outlet stores. Parking was a breeze because I went a little later in the day. Man, even during a recession people will still shop! I sure did. The Esprit store shows a lot of potential. I had already done some damage at the Maidenform, Charlotte Russe, and Gap Outlet stores so I didn't buy anything at Esprit, but definitely next time. They had a lot of great stuff and I'm sure they'll have a nice sale July 4th weekend. Might do a little more damage then. hehe.

I like the selection of stores here. They even have a Neiman Marcus outlet at the Promenade. There are just some places I totally wouldn't be able to afford at regular malls, but they're so attainable at outlet malls. Like Barney's New York, Saks Fifth Avenue, Coach, Calypso, etc. I'm looking forward to accumulating my summer wardrobe here. :)

I will admit it. I have some pretty terrible experiences here as a child and it's really out of the outlet's control. When I was six, my parents wanted to introduce me to what outlet shopping is like. Not only did I get car sick, but I also got outlet sick. It was a hot and tiring day at Camarillo in the spring of 1991 and I just vomited all over the park lot in front of what once was a KB toy store outlet. To this day, every time I go, I get really nauseous after a while.

Every single time I go here, I am either 1) sweltering hot and melting in my own sweat or 2) completely freezing and windswept. I really hate the weather in Camarillo and I hate the fact that, with traffic, this place is an hour and half away from Los Angeles on the 101. I already dislike the 101 and I'm driving on it 90% of the way. Even my favorite radio stations doesn't reach here!

With that said, they do have great premium outlets if you're willing to brave the weather, the freeway, and the sucky radio signal. Juicy Couture, Saks Fifth, Kenneth Cole, DKNY, Coach and Adidas? Seriously, how great is that. The outlet is ridiculously huge and you're definitely going to want to wear some comfortable shoes and clothes when going here. It's definitely an adventure. All the stores looks pretty well kept and organized on a normal Friday. I haven't been here during a weekend yet and there's no way in hell I would brave here during Black Friday.

The last time my mother dragged me here was to get a nice Coach white leather purse for $199 as opposed to $450. I was also able to replace my dying leather wallet with a black leather one from Coach at $40 instead of $138. I was also able to make a stop at Kenneth Cole for a pair of dress slacks for $48 and gold leather ballet flats for $39. My favorite find though was a pair of perfectly fitted, but stretchy DKNY straight leg and dark wash jeans for $39.99 instead of $60.

Overall, if you're willing to brave all that it takes to get and shop here, you'll probably find some pretty damn great finds. If only this place were a little closer and not so nausea inducing. ^_^;

I've been to more outlet malls than any strait guy should. Along the lines of outlet malls, this one is very nice. It's missing a couple stores: Burberry and Burberry.
I like the layout of this mall. You can park in the center and have a nice walk around both sides of the mall, depending on how many bags you are carrying. I like to park in the center and hit the car truck when crossing over to the other side.
The Coach store here gets very busy. Lines. Sometimes a line to get in on an average Saturday. I always have to wait in line and then you are waiting in line to buy.
There's a lot of stores here. You can always find what you need and what you don't. Get there early for holiday sales.

Right now you will find some great deals here.  At least for men.  They are currently having a 50% off sale on all men's shoes (possibly women too).  I guess because of the economy, they are experiencing problems as well.  They discounted everything and if it wasn't discounted, the item was on clearance.  However, along with the great deals due to a weakened economy, expect horrible service.  I literally was in the shoe section for about 20 mins before I gave up and had to ASK for help.  Even then, the help wasn't very useful.  There was definitely a shortage of staff but even when I was able to get help, they weren't too knowledgeable about their products.

Lots of stores, lots of people, lots of good and bad.

I like the range of stores, from high end luxury goods (Cole Haan, Juicy)  to the standard stuff (Gap, Nike) so you can definitely make a day of it and pretty much have to because the stores are spread out into two main sections. Expect to walk a lot and except hordes of people and always always expect the Coach store to be a teeming sea of pushy women all vying for the same purse from last season that's now 50% off.

Parking wasn't a problem for me (on a Sunday) but then I was not adverse to walking a bit from the car to the stores. If you insist on parking up close, then be prepared to circle around.

The one thing that was incredibly disappointing was the food. What is it with "premium" outlet malls and their crap food courts? I didn't recognize a single food vendor they had and everything we tried was just blah or gross. Don't get the Thai food. Greasy and too sweet esp. the $3.99 bubble tea that I thought would be a good idea. NOT GOOD. There was a Johnny Rockets listed in the directory but it's closed. So much for that! Even in the shopping center across the street there is only McDonald's, Del Taco and Panda Express so really your only choices are fast food. Disappointing. I wish they would at least throw in an Olive Garden or something. I think the best place to eat is probably Wetzel Preztel or else a candy apple at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

It's such a hit or miss with the selection as well. I was all excited for the J.Crew outlet and then a lot of the prices are on par with the prices in the real store and actually the sale section in the regular store has better items for less. So yes, hit or miss. Sometimes you get lucky and other times not so much.

I suppose coming here every couple of months to scope out the deals is not a bad plan but overall I'm not going to say this place fulfills my bargain hunting dreams.

We drove into the parking lot and thought it was our lucky day because it was absolutely empty and there was no traffic on the way there.  We didn't have to fight with anyone for a parking spot.  I've never been to Camarillo so I looked up what they had here and they seemed to have a good selection of stores.

After about an hour of shopping reality hit us--I guess we didn't get the memo that there was nothing exciting worth buying here-that's why the place was empty.  Don't get me wrong they do have stores that I love, but everything looked picked over and it's not even Black Friday yet! WTF.

Camarillo why can't you be like your sister outlet Cabazon??   I always seem to find something there.  If I don't, I know Agua Caliente Casino is not too far.

Would I make the trek back to Camarillo--I'm afraid not!

i used to think that camarillo premium outlet was large, but now with the expansion it's HUGE! great selection - banana republic, gap, tommy, oakley, aldo, espirit (i didn't know it still existed), even the croc outlet! - and great prices, especially on holiday weekends (labor day, memorial day, etc). this place is the best on a weeknight since during the weekends it tends to get crowded and parking becomes difficult.

My boyfriend and I went here after we went to visit my family in Oxnard. I like these outlets better than Cabazon because it isn't in the desert and they have more selection.

Since Christmas is near and it's the weekend we weren't surprised there were crowds, so we headed to the parking lot in the back near Ralph Lauren and walked our way in a huge circle through all the stores.

Basically I had to convince myself that I was shopping for OTHERS and not myself. Banana Republic had good sales; I bought his mom a cardigan at 50% off. and his dad a Polo zip up turtleneck at 70% off. We walked into the American Apparal store and I had to walk out because they had a lot of stuff for half price.

I did however, walked out with a pair of 518s. I love going to the Levi's store during the holiday season because the jeans are discounted from $40+ to $25. They have a lot of sizes and lengths too.

Ladies there is a Cole Haan and Michael Kors for your purse fetish. And a Coach and Juicy store (don't  like so much). For the men there are a lot of sportswear from Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Oakley to Puma. Also, a Zales and Ultra Diamond store for that special someone. *cough*

As for food we passed a Subway and TCBY. They have a Rocky Mt. Chocolate factory here! I think the confection covered apples would be a great holiday gift for neighbors and coworkers.

After two hours of walking and browsing, we went to stop by the In N Out near the 101 S. Then home at last.

There are enough stores, but still they are going to expand it.

These are few of my favorite stores:
- J Crew.
- Banana Republic.
- Coach.
- Gap.
- Ann Taylor.

I thought some of the clothes were still expensive for an outlet.  For example, a dress I found on the "clearance" rack was still $90 at Banana Republic.

It's a solid 3.5 stars

WOW.

I have been to many outlets in my lifetime, but this one is by far the best! They have many of the usual stores you'd find at most outlets...Nike, Puma, GAP, Nine West, Coach...but there were a few stores I have never seen at an outlet before- such as UGG, Aeropostal and Betsey Johnson.

Parking was a bit of a hassle, but the outlets look very new and they even have a food court! We didn't check that out but compared to The Gilroy Outlets...this outlet is much nicer.

Wished Norcal would build an outlet like this one!

As a first impression I got surely surprised by the size, differentiation and the incredibly low prices of this outlet.
But let me start in a more architecturally wise order. The exterior part of the complex is pretty regular and rather modern, where the parking lot could not be any bigger, without necessarily invading San Francisco county, which as a starter is not bad at all.
Once you are out of the car you can let the variety of different stores suck you in this abyss of fashion that goes from GAP to Polo Ralph Lauren, to Armani and many other names you usually see on the piled up bags that cover Japanese people walking down the street on Via Condotti, with one difference: this time I CAN TOO! As a matter of fact, prices here are unbelievably cheap and if you add it to a very wide range of choices, you get simply a cheap version of a Westfield mall. Coming from one of the most expensive cities for fashion I can tell you that never in my life I had the chance to not only look, but also grab. (Example: Polo shirt in Rome= 154,00$, at the outlet 22,00$. current exchange rate).
However, this place comes with the downsides of every outlet in the world, fairly improved though, which are: less choice than retailing especially for sizes; not latest wearing apparel. Like I remarked already, these are physiological characteristics of outlets that enable them to keep their prices for garbs to the lowest level possible.
So if you are looking for one of the best outlets in its category, definitely go there;if instead you are looking for a place with the same variety of retailing stores and incredibly low prices, then stop looking for them because they don't exist.

Yes yes yes we like this place!  If you need to buy a lot of clothes and don't mind that they aren't the newest styles... this place is super cool!  I went here with my family a couple months ago.  We pretty much made an entire day out of it because the drive was so long!!!

I think my best find here was a $150 tie that I got for 70 bucks... :-D

The armani store looks cool... they have REALLY nice suits and you can save like a thousand dollars shopping here....

It's right next to the camarillo airport so if you're super classy you can just fly right in!

Four stars cuz sometimes you have to shop next to fat people.

DAWN OF THE DEAD.

NOT an outlet.  Either a garbage bin or elite swapmeet filled with zombies looking for tacky gear and fresh brains....be careful.  If you get bit you are not allowed back in to South Coast Plaza due to their high tech Zombie Detection System.

I ventured up here yesterday after meeting a new client in LA--what a waste of gas and time!  They have a huge selection of promising boutiques--but once you browse through the selection you either find one of two things:

1.  The item is there for a reason--it is hideous and nobody wants it.
2.  The item is OK--but really just a few dollars (no joke) less than retail.

Perfect example--DIESEL.

Sure, they had some OK jeans.  But at only 30% off--when they were clearly outdated and unwanted styles..........I would rather buy exactly what I want and pay the extra $30.00.........that you spend in time and gas going here anyhow.

For those of you in Orange County--just go to South Coast and suck it up--buy what you want or at least window shop in peace--without the hundreds of zombies wandering around hunting for that million dollar item for a dollar that does not exist.

In June 2005, this was the absolute best outlet mall I had been to.  I dropped mad loot here in less than five hours.  I just paid off the debt in February of 2008!  No lie and I don't like to carry credit card debt, but I never considered taking anything back and i bought a huge piece of luggage here to accomodate everything I bought.  This was pre-extra baggage fee flying times.

Guerilla shopping at it's finest!  ;)

Do you honestly expect "good customer service / clean bathrooms / a nice cafeteria" when you're getting a STEAL on such a huge selection of designer duds?!?!?!

The Diesel and Betsey Johnson stores alone are worth the drive!

Customer service in the Kate Spade outlet store sucks! No greeting and no asking to help. I may be as white as Casper the friendly ghost, but I'm still visible.

A worker at Coach practically searched my Michael Kors bag. She asked to see what I got and I said a dress. She asked to see it, so as I was taking it out, I saw her looking in the bag like I'd just swiped a wallet or something. Whatever.

I've always been a fan of Camarillo outlets. But today, the Saturday after Thanksgiving was horrendous I tell you. Parking was a pain in the caboose....I had to pull an aggressive move to claim one my friend had spotted on the other side of the street.

But I wanted to go because all the sales are this weekend. Was it really worth it? I'm not sure. I think I could have skipped it but wanted to see what it was all about. Why people are willing to spend time in parking lot traffic and long store lines just to part with their hard earned cash. There were lines to get into Banana Republic...Coach....I skipped that. Its strange for me to stand in a line to enter a shop.

But yes there were some great sales going on that my friend and I took advantage of. And it was worth getting together to catch up and bond by facing throngs of people together!

Maybe because this place is only 15 minutes from me and I've been over this place since it opened, but it's nothing that special to me. The prices aren't all that great compared to a regular sale. The parking (which this place has a HUGE lot) is still crazy. It's mostly crowded during the weekend (almost a ghost town during the week).

There are some nice stores that I like out here, like the Kenneth Cole outlet, Nike outlet, and the Hugo Boss. I haven't gone here to personally shop as of late, because I don't like the crowds and haven't had a chance to go during the week.

They have a Auntie Anne's (the only one in Camarillo) and Subway right next to the Claire's here. The end.

As far as outlets go, this is a pretty cool one. In fact, where else is one to find an actual DRESS BARN. And if it's a CHICO's kinda day then you are set! ;)

It also houses a great Banana Republic, Gap, Kenneth Cole, Maidenform(hee hee) and many other outlets to waste your paycheck on while rationalizing a bright pink jumpsuit that retails for $458, but can be yours for $30! Hey, it's happened to all of us....or maybe...just...me. :)

Either way, check it out and as a warning, the area is loaded with farmer fields of stinky glory, so you may wanna have a pair of fingers handy to plug your nose as you pass the really pungent ones.

Yes, it's crowded.  Yes, you have to try hard to find true bargains.  But to me, it's worth it to score stuff they don't have at my neighborhood Banana or Kate Spade store.

My tip: go to the customer service center (in the same little hallway as the bathrooms near Le Gourmet Chef), show your AAA card, and get a VIP discount book.  An extra 15% off Banana purchases over $100, extra 10% off at American Apparel, etc.  Some new additions when I went last weekend were Restoration Hardware, J. Crew, and Kate Spade.

I will say that compared to the Vacaville J. Crew outlet, this one SUCKS.  No dresses or really any of the nicer stuff they have left from last season's catalogues (however, they did have a lot of cashmere).  And the Restoration Hardware outlet doesn't allow returns.  I despise stores that do that.

In any case, I love stopping in for a quick trip through my half-dozen favorite stores.  I can usually find a parking spot in the little part of the lot behind the Banana Republic outlet, and it makes for a quick and easy in and out, too.  Happy shopping!

This is a large outlet mall - It spans across two lots and there were a ton of stores.

We made a "quick" stop to the Camarillo outlets on our way back home from a visit to Los Angeles.  Even though it was a bit out of the way (had to take 'the' 101 north instead of staying on 'the' 5), they had a couple of stores we don't have up north and it made it worth the extra few minutes drive (instead of the Citadel outlets right off of 'the' 405 that has stores we already have up here) - specifically, I wanted to hit up the 'theory' outlet and the lacoste outlet.  A whole store filled with theory.  I was in heaven.  the outlet prices were decent, but i wouldn't say there were any STEALS.  I got a 1/2 sleeve cashmere cardigan for $49.  Pretty good deal....  Actually, in general, I didn't come across any SUPER HUGE deals, but all-in-all, there were some decent sales going on...

The BCBG outlet sale did not compare to my experience at Folsom (the jacket my friend got for $25 was still $75 on sale in Camarillo)...

The Lacoste outlet had their normally priced $80 polos for $59.  Their sizes were limited and for the most part, the colors were hideous.  I do not want to dress up my husband in hot pink or hot pink and yellow horizontal stripes... or fluorescent green.... nor would he ever allow it....some people can pull that off, but I would say the majority of the population cannot.

The outlet itself was a zoo.  I would equate the parking situation with holiday shopping season --- Every man/woman/teenager for him/herself ...ruthless parking (oh were you waiting for that spot? that's too bad, I'd rather ram into the front of your car while backing up to take the space from you that I technically already passed up... or .... let me just come screaming around the corner and not stop at the intersection because i saw a space in the next aisle over and I'm going to run everybody down (cars and humans) to get to it....)

Some new stores are on the horizon and I would love to go back to visit them -- Michael Kors and Giorgio Armani (and others, but I can't think of them at the moment).... ooohhhh...aaaaahhhh

They also had Coach, Aerosoles, Puma, Adidas, Clarks, Barneys, Banana Republic, Betsey Johnson, Zales, BCBG Girls, Calvin Klein, Ann Taylor Loft, Sony, Ugg (this was their outlet, but I scoffed when I picked up a pair of kids size classic shorts and the price tag on the bottom read 'Retail Price - $79.95, Outlet Price - $79.95' -- that was disappointing....and I also noticed there were a fair number of 'non-Ugg' brand shoes being sold in the store...)
and there were a ton more, but you can go to their website and see the entire list....

I would probably stop by these outlets again if I were in the area...
