Great prices, generous portions, good selection of toppings -- some unusual (cheesecake squares, lychee pieces). Plain plus one extra flavor (right now, it's passionfruit). Haven't tried their smoothies yet.
Very cute sidewalk setup!
cheap $3.50 for hefty sized raspberry flavor of the day w/yes, generous choc chips
the chairs outside are cute! clockwork orange/ milk bar type..
delicous.. will come back..
1 or 2 buildings south of 8th.. on the east side..
credit cards ok!
Hurry! Go there NOW for the Taro flavored yogurt. Awesome, a great flavor that's better than the usual favors of the week, which I usually just mix with plain. This place is much better than Pinkberry, though it's not Yogurtland (nothing else is!).

A really welcome addition to a very quiet stretch of Grand Ave. Flavors are very limited (always… Read more »
Okay I live near here and I would like everyone to come here and make it so busy that they stay open until 10 or 11pm, so I can have this yummy treat ALL the time.
It's super cute and if you like tart yogurt and toppings, you will be happy. I think they have much better toppings than yogurtland (their cheesecake and cookie dough are grody-city).
So come in for lunch, dinner, and at 7:56 (right before they close at 8pm) and maybe, just maybe, I will get to satisfy a 10pm yogurt craving because they have enough business to stay open later.
In my opinion, Caliyogurt's plain yogurt beats Pinkberry, Cefiore and Yogurtland. Great consistency, not too sweet, not too tart, fresh toppings. Quite a shame that it's in a dead location.
Pretty cool place on a quiet street in Downtown. I found it while walking around with my dad after lunch at Colori Kitchen. The interior has this cool spiky thing going on the wall which maybe deadens the sound, but overall the inside's pretty nice. The outside has this funky chairs that are form fitting for your butt.
Onto the yogurt, the plain wasn't very remarkable, not the depth one might expect at Pinkberry or Red Mango. The mango flavor was really tart, perhaps too much so, but the flavor-boost was more welcome. The mochi that I had was stall, almost too tough to chew. I like them very fresh and chewy, not like the stringy part of a steak.
Price was pretty good, around $3.50 swirled small size with one topping. Perhaps worth a stop if you go to FIDM or if you work in the area. Right now I only know of Cantaloop and this place in Downtown for tart froyo. There's Pinkberry and Yogurtland in Little Tokyo, but that's too much of a trek for me.
I live nearby and wasn't sure about this place. I liked when the space was a tucked away coffee shop, but apparently that didn't work out.
Anyway -- this place is AWESOME! You can tell they actually care about the quality of the ingredients. While similar to Pinkberry, I like this consistency of this yogurt better. It's a little more smooth. They didn't skimp on the toppings, had good stuff like pomegranate, and even fresh cut the banana right on top.
More than anything, I appreciate that this isn't just a chain. It's a good place that prides itself on quality. The woman who worked there was super nice, and even came outside and gave a few samples to my dog! :)
Cool, stark white interior with pointy walls.
Plain and flavored yogurt, with your usual choice of toppings: any berry/fruit, nuts, chips, and some more creative offerings like cheesecake and Cap'n Crunch.
They do smoothies too.
i love cali yogurt. my coworkers and i have this yogurt for lunch sometimes, but usually as an afternoon snack. people need to support this place because the yogurt is great, the owner is nice and it is way cheaper and better than pinkberry. please support, so they never go out of business!!!
Okay folks,
We all know that there are one hundred trillion frozen yogurt joints in this godforsaken town. I"m sure you would defend your fave pom pinkberry treat to the death or are currently planning your wedding at Cefiore (sorry, I couldn't input those hip/cool/trendy accentuations to the font), but if you want some nice decent yogurt without all the Pinkberry BS then go here. And before you start to poke needles in your voodoo doll of me, understand that my fat ass has eaten at EVERY fro yo place there is. Caliyogurt's fruit is ungodly fresh. The sliced strawberries placed atop my mountainous dessert were like slices of heaven, which I believe does exist in the form of Caliyogurt's treats. The place feels like you are in a cell at a mental institution but in a way that feels cool and hip, and if you need a good back scratch just lean against the pointy wall.
It's just next to the "Hotel Sh$twell" on Grand so if unfortunately you ended up there because you love flea-bag hotels that smell of rotten flesh you can drown your sorrows in some excellence at Caliyogurt. And come to think of it, even though it may be taboo to shout out a place in a review for another, I would rather sleep in the utility closet of Caliyogurt than spend three minutes in the sewerage-ambrosia that is the "Hotel Sh$twell"
