800 N State College Blvd**DISCLAIMER**: first, i'd like to state that i'm reviewing the graduation ceremonies only. i didn't go here. i'm sure its a fine academic establishment. hell, my friend went there for many years and didn't really complain. **END DISCLAIMER**
holy crap, csu fullerton. i get it. i understand that you want a big hoopla to show case all your wonderfulness. i love how you're building new buildings for students, expanding your business school, just being plain all around fabulous, but seriously... i don't need a 3 hour long 'general graduation ceremony' to hear it. i don't. publish a newsletter and hand it out at the department ceremonies or if you wanna 'go green' as it is so fashionable to do now-a-days, email it to me. don't make me wake up at 6:30am on a saturday morning to get there by 7:30am to find parking and sit in 95 degree heat to hear speeches given by people who bore the living crap out of me and the tens of thousands that showed up.
also, if you could, lets pick some good keynote speakers. the astronaut lady was pretty cool, but man, you really struck out on the others. also, spring for some signs that point people in the right direction to the actual REAL graduation ceremonies (department ceremonies). i've never seen so many geriatric nomads in my life. i thought they were all going to pass out from heatstroke before they saw they son/daughter walk up and get their ceritificate of completion.
so in short, some signs, maybe make graduation at night, and skip the general graduation ceremony and you'll be fine. my friend is so lucky i love him.
PS: Heres a list of items you'll need to survive:
1. Sunscreen. LIke SPF 50. and a tub of it. check out costco. its your friend.
2. Asston of water. unless you have cash on you for that $1.25 bottle of water, you're screwed.
3. Umbrella/Hat - screw those people behind you, they can move. if it means avoiding heatstroke i'm all for the umbrella. if you're a courteous individual, bring a hat.
4. Food - ceremony is long... both of them. bring some rations or you're gonna get bitchy.
5. Patience - without this, you'll never get out of the parking structure in one piece.

Let me breakdown my experience as CSUF. Class of 2004.
I transferred after my 2nd year at the o-so-popular San Diego State (kicks ass), to a more focused program at CSUF. It was the most miserable 2 years of my life, especially after a heart-warming 2 years at SDSU.
As an Alumni, I have the right to look back and make the following statements:
1) Everyone here is a zombie. Either they don't make eye-contact with any strangers, or think they're too good to talk to anyone. Sorry to say that most people are not friendly and apprehensive to meet new people.
2) I was walking towards a closing elevator door where nobody held open the door! HELLO jerks....it's called common decency! Learn some manners!
3) Where can you sneeze in a room full of fellow classmates, and not one single soul says, "Bless You?" Freaking Cal State Full-of-shit!!
4) This is the most segregated environment I've ever been in!!! You've got every stereotype imaginable! They keep to themselves, and if you don't fit in, you must be a martian. SO SO SO SAD.
5) Have you ever talked to a stranger sitting next to you in class and received a dirty look, or awkward response as if you were a scam-artist? What the heck...it's called an introduction and hello! Welcome to human-kind.
I was counting down the days I could move back to San Diego, where the people smile, make new friends, and welcome anyone into their circle. CSUF is a commuter school full of students just getting through their day, excluding themselves from a real college campus experience, unable to see outside of their bubble.
(SORRY TO BE HARSH....I guess this is an open forum and these are just my opinions)

Short Version: Cool theatre extension of the college.
Long Version: This is a branch of the theatre department of Cal State Fullerton. It has housing for the graduate students that is well kept and hip. It also houses several workspaces and stages for the theatre department, all of which are great for the students and the audiences that attend. This extension is a great idea and it works well. Check out a play here if you're in the neighborhood. Ticket prices are low and the work is good.

Woah you can write about universities? WHY NOT its Yelp! I am the class of 04 and transferred and I am SO GLAD i cam here instead of CSULB. Well brefily looking at other Yelpers. You can't compare San Diego State, come on its a mad party school and CSUF is a commuter school for sure! YEa thats why most people stick to themselves, unless you join a club. I came in and was only upper division classes so all the cliques were set. I didn't care, I came to graduate and get the hell out and work. For the most part I made some good acquaintences and had some all night studying sessions with classmates that I thought was fun. There are punks and yes there are segregated groups, but I can't stress enough of HOW much a commuter school this place is. This is one of the BEST BUSINESS SCHOOLS nationwide. From what I remember it was in the top 100, only ucb and ucr offer business. Unfortunately most poeple just come in and get out.
