Dr Joe is an amazing Chiropractor! He can help all types of sports injuries along with regular care. I've been going here for over 5 years and its consistently excellent! Definitely recommend! I've referred him to several of my friends including my girl friend and they all found him excellent! My girl friend had been afraid of chiropractors in the past (bone cracking and such) but Dr. Joe's friendly approach and rapport with customers now has her as a regular customer.

After attending an anatomy lecture a few days ago (which wasn't nearly as boring as it sounds), I decided it was high-time to make an appointment with my friendly neighborhood chiropractor. We have so many dang bones in our body, I figured this bag-o'-bones must be out of alignment somewhere. I have been having a bit of lower back pain lately which is probably due to some crazy contorted move I did in yoga, SO I decided to face my fears and head to the chiropractor.
I have to admit, I haven't been to the chiropractor much and get a little nervous with all of the cracking, popping and adjusting. Dr.Ortega immediately made me feel comfortable and did a stellar job at keeping me distracted with questions. I felt fantastic after my appointment!
After the adjustment, the nurse hooked these little sticky pads to my lower back that produced an electric shock feeling. You can control the intensity from 1-8. We came to find out that the first control box was apparently "low on batteries" and I got an unexpected level 8 zap to the lower spine...That'll wake you up!! When the nurse replaced it for a charged one, I had those little zappers steadily cruising at a level 4. When I was all set, I got to lay on this waterbed massager thingy (I am sure there are technical names for all of these things but I haven't the slightest clue what they are) for a relaxing massage. When I got up I had this feeling of euphoria and almost fell over! It was awesome!
I would highly recommend you give this office a visit to realign your bag-o'-bones. I was in-and-out in 30 minutes! -

I've been jaded with chiropractic care and didn't feel any different before stepping into Dr. Ortega's office. Considering I was experiencing some wicked nasty headaches and was walking with a slight tilt in my neck I knew I needed some help... fast.
Since my first chiropractic experience was far from astonishing, I really didn't know what to expect this time. I was willing to try anything to make my headaches and gangster lean walk go away and asked for some recommendations.
Guess what folks? Dr. Ortega is For Reals. (DOiFR)
After about a month and a half into treatment I felt vibrant as ever. My headaches went away almost immediately after the first few treatments and there was extra pep in my step. A lot of the pep does have to do with being able to sleep better after the treatments as well.
Dr. Ortega listens to what you have to say and actually cares to advise his patients on activities that may cause some wear and tear to your body. I'd like to call him the the restorer and preserver of your mind and body through his treatments and adjustments.

Sigh, a ghetto knee brought me back here this morning. And boy, oh boy, did I need a visit. I forgot how awesome Dr. Ortega is!
Yes, I did get lectured about how much chiropractors hate running, but after this half marathon on sunday, I don't think my knee can take long distance running anymore. *EDIT* Just kidding. no half marathon for Teresa :(... IT band is ultra painful now. Sigh.

So Happy I found Dr. Ortega!!! Him and his staff are absolutely awesome!!! He makes me feel better physically, and Xochitl makes me laugh!
My headaches are gone (unless I drink too much) and I love that when I go in he takes care of me and actually cares about his patients. It's not just a generic adjustment...

Dr. Ortega is an amazing doctor and California Chiropractic Care is a great facility! Conveniently located in Misson Valley, it's centrally located to most areas. There is ample parking.
The office itself is clean, modern and welcoming. The reception staff and masseuse are also fantastic! They are punctual and efficient. You'll be in and out in about 20 minutes each visit.
Best of all, they really care about their patients. My insurance sent me to Dr. Ortega back in 2003 after being in a bad car accident. I was in his care for several months and fully recuperated. Fast forward 5 years later to 2008, when some rear ends me again at a stoplight and now I treatment. I called Dr. Ortega on his cell and he remembered me right away, got me immediately and I'm on the road to recovery!
If you're looking for five star treatment in a professional and warm environment, I highly recommend giving Dr. Ortega at California Chiropractic Care a call. And tell them Danah said, "hi" will ya? -

Crack! Snap! Pop!
Boy, did I just grow 3 inches from having my back straighten out. Now wait a minute, that might sound nasty to the sickest ones out there. But seriously, Dr. Ortega is a professional and knows what he is doing.
I used to come here a few times last year from a spa package my wife used the vouchers on. It was worth the time being here because I learned a few things or two about my back.
My favorite is when they snap my neck in position. It has that awesome feeling of joints crackling all the way down your neck and echoing in your hallow mind.

The fat: A perfect place to feel comfortable for the very first time.
The skinny: Those $40 visits can add up if you don't have insurance. -

I love Dr Ortega! I met him out at health convention he was doing with Mind Body Partnerships. I was able to get a gift certificate to see him through their website http://mbpartnerships.com and thank goodness I did. Dr Ortega is not only very professional and knowledgeable but extremely personable and fun, and easy to talk to. It's always a great experience gong to see him.
His building is conveniently located and there is always parking. -

Dr Ortega is my FAVORITE!!! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone in need of chiropractic care! I am constantly telling my friends to pay him a visit to help with their body pain!!!
The staff is also very professional and kind! They take care of you so that you can leave feeling relaxed and relieved from your pain! Dr Ortega is one of the only doctors I've ever met who listens to my concerns and makes adjustments to help my with my neck and back pain. The only problem I have now is I've run out of visits through my insurance so I will not be able to go as much! :(
Dr Ortega is a really genuine man who likes to help people! Go see him! -

Does the word AWSOME mean anything to you? That's how I would describe Dr. Joe Ortega and his staff. In the seventies I had a hang glider accident where I fell about 70 ft and landed on my tail bone. Since that time I needed some type of Chiropractic care every few years to get my alignment back in order. I can tell you I have had a lot of experience with Chiropractor's and I have yet to find anyone who takes the time discussing your situation, comes up with a plan that truly fits your condition and without all the many added expenses that other doctors charge you.
After just one session I was up doing my regular routine and after three sessions I felt like new! Thanks Dr. Joe. -

With sports and working out, I noticed my back had tension and there was some tingling in my arms. My back just did not feel right and it was not getting better with stretching and trying to "crack" my back on my own. Dr. Ortega put me on a short term plan that was honest and very affordable. The heated water bed massage before treatments is a very nice touch, not to mention the in house massage therapy is convenient and affordable.
I have experienced Dr. Ortega and staff to be caring, knowledgeable and sincere. I highly recommend them. -

Dr Ortega has helped me on numerous occasions for various back-related problems. The difference is that he cares about his patients and also gives advice on ways to prevent future problems and helps to break bad habits (ie cracking your neck). He is a great person and an excellent chiro and is highly recommended by this yelper :-)

I have had chronic lower back problem since my late teens and I was totally against any Chiropractic care until I met Dr. Ortega. Not only has he taken care of the lower back pains but taught proper techniques and preventative maintenance that help kept the pain away. I continue to see him for monthly adjustments and such!

It's all true - California Chiropractic and Dr. Ortega are fantastic. I managed to screw up my neck a few weeks ago, and finally decided that I needed to get treatment. I hadn't been to a chiropractor since I'd been in San Diego, and because CCC got great reviews, was near my work, and accepted my insurance I decided to give them a shot. Boy, am I ever glad that I did. I gave them a call, and was in the office the next day! I went in for a consultation with Dr. Ortega, and he was very thorough in asking what my symptoms were, going through an exam, and then explaining the problems and the treatment. I got immediate relief after my first session, and when you're really in pain, that's a godsend! On top of all this, everyone in the office is really personable, so I highly recommend CCC for anyone looking for a good chiropractor, or who thinks they might need one.

the staff & dr. ortega r all superstars in their own right, had four adjustments and a 30min deep massage w/ Jenne in less than a wk. i found myself in need of gettin' my spine realigned due to my active workout schedule, but they're very accomodating, not 2 mention the facility is less than 10mins away from my hood of CV and i have Mind Body Partnerships to thank for the referral pkg! ur awesome, and my neck & back thanks ya!

Dr. Ortega has got to be one of the best chiropractors in San Diego. I have been seeing him for close to 9 years now. I have been seeing chiropractors since 10 yr.....and since moving to San Diego, hes the best. Ive tried alot but I'm sticking with Dr. Ortega. He's professional, kind and truly cares about his patients. Rare these days in any line of work. The office is clean, and friendly staff too. His other doctor, Paul Marsh, is great too. Dr. Marsh filled in a few times when Dr Ortega wasn't in. Both are awesome. THANKS.

I have been going here for years and would never even consider going anywhere else. Any time I have pain or just feel like an adjustment it is always easy to get in, and there is no question about his knowledge and experience. He has even made a house call when I injured myself swinging an axe in the yard and threw my back out bad. You never see that kind of dedication and care these days.
