Brunch is good, I agree the selection is lacking...  The ceviche bar is my fav, when you can find someone to help.

They make a good italian  sausage pasta.

I have had the all you can eat Friday Night seafood buffet here several times and its was fantastic. That was years ago. This review is for lunch. The prices are high. The food is good and the service was outstanding. i went with the lunch buffet for $29.00 since I was starving. Good choice on my part. Took only 6 trips to fill me up. The hot selections were all served in single sized portions. Very good idea since it eliminates the waste and the food is fresh and hot. The seafood puff pastry was very tasty along with the sliced pork. The salad station was small but there were more than enuf selections to make it interesting.

The California Bistro at Four Seasons Aviara is simply amazing! So many individual sized choices that tempt you to try them all! The miniature sized pastries and desserts are by far my favorite part, from mint chocolate and oreo cheese cakes to mini creme brulee and tiny decadent fruit tarts- yum! My best friend loves to join me for lunch at the Bistro because she is on a strict Gluten-Free diet due to Celiac disease. They are so accommodating. They have full gluten free breakfast, lunch and dessert menus. The best part, once a month they offer an entire Gluten Free Buffet. They usually offer it on the first Wednesday of the month, so if you know anyone who is on a gluten-free diet- tell your friends! Like I said...delicious and amazing!

We went to the lunch buffet because we had a gift certificate.  It was gorgeous and so yummy!  My daughter got the chicken quesidilla off the kids menu.  She loved it.
My husband eats only fish and he kept going back for the fish entree.  The dips were good as well as the bread and crackers in the basket on our table.
The desserts were amazing!  The staff was so friendly--
After we ate, we went to the game room downstairs and played pool and fuse ball.  We want to go back--forget Chuck e cheese!  We love the Four Seasons in Aviara!!

I had THE best sirloin burger here for lunch a couple of weeks ago.  If only I lived closer and could have it more often :(

My dad had a salmon salad and loved it!

I checked out the buffet before ordering anything and wasn't too impressed with the selections.  I figured I might as well not pay like $30 for bits and pieces of food that didn't look appetizing to me.

Service was pretty standard for a 4 Seasons so no complaints there.

I don't know why this buffet has a bad rating...  Not enough selection?  The selection was very wide.  If you don't like seafood, don't go to a seafood buffet!

All you can eat lobster was great!  They also had sushi and sashimi as well...  The dessert selection was also good... just don't expect anything like Extraordinary Desserts because this is a _seafood_ buffet.

Service was also very good...  the waiters/waitresses respond pretty quickly.

If you want to try gourmet food at an astronomical price, this is the place for you. The food was good, but sorry, the selection IS lacking. They had about 4-5 main dishes out, but they are very small and they make a small "batch" (for lack of a better word), so if there are more than a few people, they run out and you have to wait.

The desserts were awesome, but this just isn't worth the price. The lunch was something like $38 and I made the mistake of assuming that drinks were included. At this price, they should be. They brought me a small bottle of coke, the 10 ounce size and when I received the check, that 10 ounce coke was $5. Yikes!

All in all, good food, but just not worth it. All parking is valet as well.

I don't know what happened to the Seafood Buffet, but the first time I had the Seafood Buffer at this place (~4 years ago, when it was still $43 a pop!!), it was very good (not excellent). The king crab claws were very good and fresh, sushi/sashimi selection were limited but nevertheless passable, and the lobster of course was decent, the dessert selections were adequate and very good. BUT, I went here again about a year ago and the quality of the seafood just went down the hill, particularly the crab claws, I could tell they were not fresh! And on top of that, they raised the price!

Well, I'd never go back here, since there are of course better alternatives.

Ugh...I went here Friday night to their Seafood Buffett.

I was not impressed.

Yes, they have all you can eat lobster, but there wasnt much else in the selection. Maybe because I went pretty late? Who knows, but I will not be back.

THe desserts were mediocre as well.

Dont waste your money on this place. If you want a really good all you can eat lobster, go to the Seafood Soire at The Westgate hotel in downtown.

Not worth it. And I think it made me a bit sick afterwards.

I'm basing my review on the lunch buffet as it's the only thing I've ever gotten here! But I love it... it's really a delicious buffet. Yes, it's pricey, but you are at the four seasons. The quality of the food is very good and it's all delicious. I love their salads especially and don't forget to save room for dessert as they have a huge selection of little treats. The atmosphere is nice and service is good. I've been 4 or 5 times and never had a complaint.

Service here is great, and given the prices, you'll probably want to order the buffet.  It always has lot of choices.

During breakfast, fresh omlettes, an assortment of sweet fruits, homemade belgian waffles, and bakery goods.  Heavenly...

During lunch, to be honest the salad/appetizers (cheese platter, couscous salad with pork, chicken artichoke salad, potato salad, etc) and the desserts (#1 fave the chocolate tartlet  :) were the best part of the spread.  The entree choices were descent.

It is cold in the dining room though so either eat a lot to create an extra layer of fat to help with insulation or bring a sweater of some sort.

We went there for our 10 year wedding anniversary. We are not into pricey food, but hey, once a decade is ok, right?
Food -- so-so, okay, meh. My husband can cook better meal.
Service -- excellent! The waitresses are friendly and quick.
Kids friendly! They got cute kids' buffet and my sons loved it!
Kids buffet had chicken tender, fries, cheese thingy, gummy bear, peas, cookie.
What we ordered:
Hubby: Rack of Lamb with wild rice - $33.
Me: Chicken -- $28
Kids' buffet: $15 times 2 -- $30
Drinks: Coffee for me and Beer for hubby -- $10
Total $110.
Parking is valet, but free because we dined there.

Overall, this place has good atmosphere, but don't have high expectation for food.
Would I go there again? Yes, when someone else is paying =)

I visited for the lunch buffet.  The selction was a little below average by Four Seasons standards, but everything on the slate was tasty and well prepared.  The service was a little sparse, I could have used a few more refills on my iced tea.  I'll give it another shot before reaching a verdict.

One of my favorite brunch buffets.  They have a little bit of everything you could possibly want: salads, seafood, prime rib, pasta, sushi, desserts, and mimosas.  And you feel this compulsion to try all of it.  I love the omellete station.  Every good brunch must have an omellete station.  Every time I have brunch at the California Bistro, I won't need to eat for the rest of the day.  It's pricey but worth the money if you love food.
