14 reviews for Calamity Jane's Hamburger Parlour Restaurant
I love Calamity Jane's! They make amazing burgers, from 1/3 lb. to a huge 1 lb!
Last time I went though I didn't care for the Tombstone Burger, the jalapenos being soggy and lacking the "crunch" of good jalapenos, and I didn't care that much for the salsa. Thankfully that little issue is overlooked because they make the BEST BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. Not to mention the milkshakes are to die for. I ordered an Oreo Mint milkshake. :)
My 11-year-old sister ordered chicken fried steak that was humongous. She was only 1/3 done before she got full.
All in all, great place, although I recommend sticking to the burgers and dinner items for the main course. The reason why is because one time my sister ordered a corn dog that was microwaved and cold in the middle. I'm not decking off any points though mainly because corn dogs aren't their specialty.
5/5, looking forward to going next time.

Bring your appetite if you're going to eat here folks! That's why this is the perfect place to stop after boarding at Hood :) Conveniently about half way between the mountain and Portland, I try to stop here every time on the way down.
Chili cheese fries come with a moutain of fries and if you love cheese like I do, it can come with just as much melty gooey yummy cheese and chili goodness~
Soft drinks are served in huge 32 oz ,or something like that, glasses.
Burgers...you can choose between 3 sizes - regular, huge, and mammoth (they have catchy names for each size, like "City Slicker", but I can't remember them all). Toppings galore.
I wouldn't come out here if I was just craving a burger, but if you're a mountain rat, i highly recommend stopping by
Very average burger at this roadside joint. Our server claimed their burgers were in the Top 10 of US burgers but I have a feeling the list only exists in his head. It was mediocre at best.
The rings were pretty decent but their house Ranch tasted like a bland imitation of my favorite sauce.
Oh and skip the bathroom - not nice, not nice at all.
I am not joking. I threw-up after this meal.
Do not eat here!
If I could give a negative-5 stars I would.
Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick...
Just dont really go here. Not that good. If you are starving and cant wait to get back into portland because its almost 9 at night and you dont want to deal with cooking anything at home. Still dont go here.
If quantity not quality is your thing, Calamity Janes is the place for you.
The fries were pretty good though.
Calamity Jane's was a welcome blast of warmth on the way home from snow-adventure day.
Steering clear of the Pizza Burger selections (I did not see anyone try one of these so cannot say one way or the other), I picked a "City Slicker"-sized North Carolina Mushroom Burger from one of the 38-odd standard options. This turned out to be something like Beef Stroganoff minus the pasta, plus a bun. Wow.
Our waitress was a bit distracted, resulting in my milkshake coming at the end of the meal and our vegetarian friend ordering a "Nacho Cheese" veggie burger but getting a "NO Cheese" veggie burger. But still: a nacho cheese burger? Where else is that even an option?
Kitschy? For sure. Tasty? Yeah, sure. It's not a destination all on its own, but it's a fun stop on the way to/from the mountain.
Great Place to catch a true tase of the Mountain in a burger! Slush in with your snow pants on and grub! This place isn't afraid to put anything between two buns! Everything is supersized but the price!
Wow, this place has a crazy array of 'hamburgers' to offer. (Be sure to check out the "Inflation Burger" for a hardy har har laugh.)
I wouldn't say this place has great food, but its greasy atmosphere is welcome after a long day of snow sports.
Went here yesterday. The burgers were tasty. Their shakes are good too. I am giving 1 star because of poor service. Not coming back.
The only reason i give 2 stars and not 1 is the chocolate milk shakes are really good other than that the hamburger meat is of poor quality at best and very over priced for a burger that thinks it is a major League product. save your self a butt load of cash and go some place else or stop in and get a milk shake and Fry's with are OK and skip the burger
Saloon serves us best burgers in the west
Next time you're headed down from the slopes of Mt. Hood, make a pit stop at Calamity Jane's in Sandy for some darn good hamburgers.
The western saloon-type restaurant is about as down home as you can get, complete with a dozens of mouth-watering hamburgers on the menu. And there are some funky choices. I picked a somewhat conservative cajun burger, but my friend chose the George Washington burger with cherries and sour cream. He said it was awesome. Then there's another burger topped with marshmallow cream and hot fudge. That's right, an actual hot fudge sundae burger. People say that it tastes pretty good. Not sure about that one --- think I'll stick to keeping my burger and dessert on different plates.
Surprisingly, the hamburgers aren't my favorite thing on the menu. It's a toss up between their homemade lemonade and chocolate milkshake. So instead of choosing one, I just order both.
Tip: Leave a tip on the ceiling. Dozens of one dollar bills adorn the beams and ceiling here with inscriptions, so go ahead and leave yours too.
This place has some great burgers.
They have about 40 different types of burgers, with just about every topping you can imagine. Also, they have a good selection of Pizza burgers (though I have never tried those) and sandwiches. All these are priced very reasonably.
The atmosphere and decorations are all modeled after an old saloon, which is a nice touch.
All in all, I recommend whole-heartedly.
Edit: It seems the quality here has dropped significantly...what a sad turn.
Hmmm, the previous reviewers must have never had a good burger before - and I'm being kind in calling it a burger. What I had was shaped like a burger, but tasted like crumbly bits of leather. It was WAAAAYYY overcooked. I ordered "chili fries" and got a plate of gloppy, stringy, bitter, orange crap infested with green peppers (?) covering a bunch of overcooked, grainy potato wedges. Nasty! You'd be better off at McDonalds
