This is probably the best club I have been a member of!  The guy, showers, courts, everything is always in pristine condition. The parking is great too since trees cover the whole area your car usually stays nice and cool.

Great lap pool if you are a swimmer.  What's really nice is the gym equipment and weight sets are always modern and brand new.

Great work!

I finally got to play a round of golf with my father-in-law, and it was at his home course: Calabasas Golf & Country Club. He's been a member out there for going on three decades, and has witnessed numerous changes in the club, including a re-routing of the front-nine. Not that it matters to you, but it was fun to play with someone who had the right to be crusty.

I thought the atmosphere was relaxed in the pro shop and the club house. The cart barn boys showed us a combination of deference and disdain, but who can blame them?

The course itself was very fun. A relatively short layout, but not without its challenges, and chock full of creative shots. I'm trying to remember if there were any repeat shots, and I'm pretty sure we got a different shot from each and every tee. The short par-5 closer is a great way to finish because it gives you such a good chance at finishing on a high note.

But the shot of the day for me was on the dogleg left 5th, facing 85 yards into the green over the lake, in full view of the clubhouse, I skull my approach with such violence that it skips off of the lake, through the green and into the fringe beyond the flag. Like I meant to do it.

Any time they have to hang clocks at various tees that say "If you started before this time you are running late" you know that pace of play is an issue. Too bad we were the slow ones out there that day.
