I am a challenge and a half for any skincare professional. I groom, I believe in pampering as a right of life, and well, I ask a LOT of questions and know exactly, exactly what I want. So that's enough for me to be a picky client and really put an esthetician through the ringer. That being said, in the past couple years, I have also just developed some really crappy skin issues. I have tried a myriad of methods to address this situation, from diet and lifestyle modification to different home care products and aggressive professional care. Nothing. I was spoiled, I had NO issues in my younger years and then BOOM, started wearing makeup to the gym because I was so peeved at my skin. Katrina is quite literally the first person to ever, ever, even remotely get a handle on my skin. Not only were her recommendations for home care products much more on-point for my issues, but what really has amazed me is how effective her actual facials are. I know this may seem like a no-brainer, but it is not always the case that my skin literally glows and like, actually feels ahhmazzing after a facial. Sometimes it just feels clean and tended to or whatever. Not so with this lovely lady. My skin texture and clarity are always top-notch and will be so for weeks after seeing her. And oh, the extractions, oh boy. Sometimes I have to literally tell someone, like 'Hey, get this crap outta my skin' and point before anything gets addressed. Katrina is so attentive to extractions and spends so much more (painless) time on them than anyone I have come across. There is just no evidence other than the improvement in my skin that better illustrates she knows what she's doing and will do everything in her sweet power to make me glow.
Now, about the brows. I had literally been letting my brows roam free for nearly two years in attempt to let them recover from past over-zealous brow work. They are just thin and have tricky spots where they don't grow, and I'm just the kind of gal who dreams about super thick statement arches. So anyway, no one had touched these babies in a great long while. After drooling over my friend's brows who Katrina had worked her magic on, I decided to let the artist do her thing. Who freakin knew she could do so much with so little! Again, let me repeat--I am one tough cookie to groom and she nailed it. She has my full confidence.
Also, Katrina is really quite adorable and fun to chat and giggle with, but will totally take your cue if you want to pass out while she works. A friendly, savvy gal who will make you a prettier version of you is why I heart Cake Skincare. -

Katrina is a fantastic eyebrow waxing extraordinaire. I am so sad to be leaving WA. now that I just found her.
The pricing for eyebrows was in the higher range but completely worth it. Her online booking system makes it a breeze for last minute people like me and she is able to look at the shape of your face with a creative eye so she can see what your eyebrows can become if they have been over-waxed like I have since learned some California salons love to do.
The frosting to the "cake" for me was when she mentioned I could bring my little dog in with me anytime! Since I have an invisible umbilical cord attached to the little guy, that was an awesome perk. -

Katrina is FANTASTIC! She is incredibly talented and truly cares about your skin care. I discovered Katrina through a friend who has fabulous eyebrows and I won't go to anyone else ever.
She listens carefully to you and pays close attention to what your skin is doing so she can provide the best possible treatment.
Going to see her is like visiting one of your best girlfriends, only better - she makes you pretty. -

Katrina Rising is the best person I've ever been to for waxing and skincare! I'm so glad she opened her own place, and Cake fits her perfectly because she is such a sweet and wonderful person!
She's definitely whipped my skin in to shape with her wonderful facials and skincare advice, and there's no one else I'd rather go to for waxing. You really can't do better than Katrina. -

Katrina Rising has finally gone off on her own and it couldn't be better! Cake's "sweet and sophisticated" skincare and waxing is awesome and Katrina is the best. I wouldn't think of going to anyone else for my waxing and facial needs and have consistently referred her to friends of mine throughout the years. You can also online book through Cake's website which is great!

LOVE Katrina. I was born rich in eyebrows, unibrow and all, and since adolescence have chased the holy grail of the perfect shape. Katrina has tamed my "challenging" eyebrows and atoned for my past sins, including a brief Drew-Barrymore-circa-1995 phase. I have searched far and wide, in four states, and have not found anyone like her. She's always my second stop (after home) whenever I visit Seattle - unfortunately hasn't happened in almost a year, so I have yet to see her new space in Queen Anne. Her warmth and care is unmatched and her work is impeccable. Now, if only I could find someone in Ann Arbor...

Loved visiting Katrina when she was at Red. At Cake, the experience is even better. Unrivaled brow design and a genuinely delightful person. Booking online makes things super convenient. Dreading moving out of the area and having to find someone else.
