When I'm hungover, only one category of food will do: greasy food. It could be breakfast greasy food or lunchtime greasy food, but whatever goes in my mouth the day after a bender better be greasy.

I arrived at Caitlin's with a pretty fuzzy brain and proceeded to look down the menu and a wide variety of options for both lunch and breakfast. Then I saw it: The green chili bacon burger. Oh yeah. That's what I wanted, but with one small modification.

The waitress brought us our coffee (which I'm told was delicious, but I hate all coffee and reserve it only for the worst emergencies) and water and we ordered. When I asked for cream cheese on my burger, she looked at me like I was crazy, but I tell you here and now, that is a required condiment when eating a green chili burger.

The burger arrived and the bottom bun was soaked in grease. That was a good sign. I got the cream cheese on the side and smeared on the top bun. The burger did not disappoint. I wolfed it down, along with the wedge french fries served with the burger.

I think my one complaint was that the service seemed to come to an abrupt halt after we got our food. I decided I wanted some soda during my meal and it took probably 30 minutes to flag down our server to get  what amounted to a tub of diet coke.

This place isn't at the top of my list for hangover cures and breakfast foods, but I will probably end up back here at some point, given that it is fairly close to my place.

I eat here for the traditional breakfast, toast and oatmeal good. Lots of breakfast choices. Good place to go for a decent breakfast.

Service is great--the folks are friendly as well as attentive.  The coffee is just what it should be--delicious and plentiful.  The food is consistently good, including the green chili.  (I make my own, typically, and have very high standards).  If you want to pay extra for more flair and lesser food, fine.  But if you want a consistently well-prepared breakfast served in a comfortable establishment by a great staff, go to Caitlin's.  You won't do better.

I'm always hunting for the latest and greatest breakfast joint, which is how I ended up at Caitlin's in Glendale. I really wanted to like this place, and a glance at their online menu suggested that I'd found a best-kept secret dishing out great breakfasts with a Mexican/New Mexican bent. Carnitas! Carne Adovada! New Mexican red chile!

Alas...I swear the salsa was Pace, haphazardly doctored up with cilantro, chopped onions, and canned green chiles. No kick whatsoever. Nada. The New Mexican red chile, quintessentially brick red, looked the part, but tasted as dull as a dirt.

On the upside, the strawberry lemonade bobs with fresh berries, the chips are scratch-made, and the portions will feed a little league team.
