Caffe Noi is a decent neighborhood joint which has more than it's fair share of hit and miss experiences!
-Their coffee is just OK, but the espressos are done right (difference in quality of beans?).
-The croissants are tasty but stay away from the "tiramisu in a cup"
-The staff are very pleasant but the lighting kind of kills the mood. Over caffeinated individuals and bright lights don't blend.

Nothing too exciting here. Not bad. But nothing to write home about.

I sat and worked on my computer with friends. Had lunch and tea. The eggplant sandwich with sliced egg (sorry, cheated on my vegan diet!), tahini and greens on ciabatta was outstanding. And the free wireless was nice. But the staff, while friendly, pleasant and hard-working, was clearly overwhelmed. In addition, the offset fluorescent lighting gives the place the feel of a hospital waiting room. I think Caffe Noi is best for take out or to sit and visit during off-peak hours.

Oh, BOOM, first to review!  Good thing, because this place just opened up on the UES a few weeks ago, and isn't very popular.  Caffe Noi is sandwiched right between Starbucks and various grocery stores/delis where quality coffee and food items are available for much cheaper prices.  I've been here a couple of times with my laptop to get some work done, and not only is the cafe environment not conducive to relaxation, but their prices are crazy.

The interior is clean and bright with menus displayed on flatscreen TVs, a good (but obviously not a lot of turnover) selection of baked items that they supposedly make in-house, no bathroom that I've seen, and an entirely Israeli staff.  My iced tea was $4.  Several people, including me, have been surprised by the fact that anything that says "iced" in their coffee menu turns out to be a drink blended with ice, not over ice as expected.  The male staff members will offer pretty girls free drinks, baked goods, and refills.

Caffe Noi is just okay as cafes go, since there is a severe lack of places one can get work done outside of one's apartment on the UES.  You can't sit there for extended periods of time without the staff hassling you or overheating--the inside is super-heated, and the music playing over the speakers is always some kind of really awkward house or trance.  I've seen a lot of people walk in out of curiosity, check out the menus, and leave straightaway--I would frankly be surprised if Noi makes it longer than a year.

Their food is sumptous and delicious, especially some of their baked goods and soups. Try the Santorini salad, and the almost croissant.

A pretty good place.  The staff is friendly, the coffee and pastries are very good, there are no debit card minimums (!!!!), free wifi is available, and you get a little punchcard that gets you a free coffee after you buy ten.

The biggest downside is the fluorescent lighting, which sort of ruins the atmosphere.  Prices are totally reasonable, and their coffees are cheaper than Starbucks -  a rare thing for an independent coffee shop.

Very bright and clean, cute little diner tables and GREAT sandwiches.  I had a mozzarella, tomato, basil panini, which generally would be pretty difficult to get wrong, but I'd never had one that was so very right.  It had the freshest mozzarella I've ever had on a sandwich and amazing pesto, all on delicious light foccaccia. With a very tasty side salad for 8.95 (all their sandwiches are the same price), I didn't think it was exorbitant for the UES.  I was a little surprised that my iced drink was blended, but it was still good.  I'll definitely go back in the morning and try the coffee and baked goods.
