3 reviews for Cafe Van Go
Each cup I've had has been a pleasure that ends in mourning. Cafe Van Go serves the best coffee I've ever had. Jason, the barista, takes pride in what he puts in front of your eyes, under your nose, and in your mouth; it shows.
Just this past weekend I drove my family down from extreme-NW Tucson and was getting harassed by my wife re: the long drive past other coffee shops for the brew at Cafe Van Go. After sampling a few tastes of her drink, "Ok, it was totally worth it."
Cafe Van Go FTW! You can stay on top of what he's brewing most days by following him on twitter: @cafevango
Full disclosure: I'm more than a little responsible for Cafe Van Go's location and I work for Bookmans.
I'm an espressojunky. That's a very particular thing. Good espresso is such a rarity as to be cherished: a flashbulb of clarity in the moment, dancing flavors across your palette, then the lingering remnants. Each shot unique as a sunrise. Yet, it is an act of bravery to order an espresso in most shops. So when I'm at Cafe Van Go, I'll often offer to share a double shot. It's a revelation for many, but as I always warn them. "It's a slippery slope and you're near the top".
Oh, yeah. Jason wins stuff. Latte Art competitions. SW Regional Barista. The respect of peers. The beans he serves are from roaster of the year.
But try the espresso.
What an experience
Your host is a gentlemen
Your coffee will be sublime
Bravo
