My first Cafe Rio experience and awwwww yeah. That barbacoa salad, I miss you in Wisconsin my friend.
To be honest, I wouldn't have gotten the salad if I came here on my own but Ute friends said it's what I should get and I'm glad I did. You walk into to what equivocates to the Chipotle and Qdoba kind of establishments we have in the midwest that in my opinion, only serve good burritos, and get a salad that is really high quality. Fantastic!
Not too much more to say, it's a solid choice in St. George and I'd recommend everyone tries the barbacoa salad at least once in their life. -

BBQ burrito is the best thing ever! Maybe it was the 5 mile hike earlier that day but I honestly am still dreaming about cafe rios shredded bbq burrito three weeks later! To make things better, the fresh limeade with mint was the bomb dot com. AMAZING! This place is busy so be prepared to stand in line for about 10-15 minutes, but its worth it!

The tortillas here were fresh - they reminded me of home. The food was very good and the portions were satisfying. The quality of the food was very good.

I was visiting St George and looking for something Mex on Easter Sunday - Cafe Rio is similar in style to Qdoba or Chipotle - where you step up to a counter and they build your burrito/enchilada from containers with all the goodies. This tried and true formula takes a slight twist here, as instead of steaming the shell, it is placed in a tin pan and flash heated - which allows the "wet" enchillada - wherein the product is covered with additional sauce and cheese.
The decor is funky and fun, the prices are reasonable, and the food tastes terrific and fresh. Both the steak burrito and the pork barbacoa were yummy. -

There's nothing Mexican about this Mexican restaurant. The food barely mediocre and is drawnning in the sauce. The staff rushed you through the purchase, and even when my wife inquired about certain charges, the cashier wasn't able to explain clearly.
This place is very popular judging by the number of people there, but we'd never return. -

This place never gets old. Having been in Provo for years and years I love eating at Cafe Rio and I am glad they have a location in St. George. Personal favorite is the Barbacoa Pork salad or burrito.
CAFE RIO NEEDS A WASHINGTON CITY LOCATION. -

Highly recommend the Tuesday special! The coconut shrimp tacos rock! Definitely my new favorite! Ask for the tomatillo dressing on the taco too.

I'm not sure if it was the fact that I was running on 4 hours sleep over the course of 38 hours, but Cafe Rio is pretty good. I had just gotten back from my trip to the good ol' UK and had a gift card to this place, so we decided to hit it up on our way back to Provo. I ordered the chicken tostada special, which is essentially a slightly smaller version of the chicken salad but a lot cheaper (plus it includes a drink - score!) and perfect for me because it meant that I could actually come closer to finishing my meal. While the lines are typically really long, the service is pretty speedy and the food never seems to disappoint.
One of the only grievances I have about Cafe Rio, aside from the fact that it's the popular place for all of the BYU students, is that they charge a pretty penny for their dishes. I guess it's not terrible, but there aren't really any entrees that run cheaper than $8 if you have any meat in them.
This place is way better than the other alternatives in St. George around this strip of fast food chains. Tasty and speedy. -
Review from Paolo D.
My friends tell me that this is the original Cafe Rio location. I have no reason to doubt them, but it's irrelevant. The important news is that their food is just as delicious as the other four locations I've tried. Yes, Cafe Rio is a chain. Yes, I've now reviewed all five that I've visited. But I figured that they all deserve my Yelp love.
After a long day hiking out at Zion, my friends and I stopped by for some carb replenishment. For the first time ever, I ordered something other than a burrito with enchilada sauce. They had a special that day for chili rellenos and I couldn't pass it up. No surprise - still delicious!
What's also interesting about this location is that there is a Nielsen's Frozen Custard right next door. This mirrors the Cafe Rio on S. Eastern in Vegas. For some reason, my one friend finds that fascinating. -

I love this place. It has stayed consistent for years. I rarely take someone here from out of town that doesn't just rave about it when we leave. The fideo on Fridays is a hidden pasta gem.

Homemade tortillas. So good we had to go back for more. Wouldn't go through St. George again without eating here!

We go out of our way to stop here when traveling through St. George, it is just that good. While slightly pricey, the portions are huge and my husband and I share the salad and walk away completely stuffed. The pork barbacoa is a must try. It's a sweet counterpoint to the slight spice of the salad and the delish creamy cilantro dressing. YUM. Worth the detour.

I was staying in St. George Utah visiting Zion and was trying to figure out where to eat. My boyfriend and I after driving around ended back at Cafe Rio which was likened to a Chipotle. I'm not a fan of Chipotle but I came away a fan of Cafe Rio. Much better than Chipotle, but similar in style in that you get to choose what you want on your burrito/taco/enchilada/salad. I had the pork salad and it was the best salad I've ever had! My boyfriend had the pork burrito. Food was reasonably price, very tasty, and fast. Highly recommend it. Wish there was one closer to where I live in LA!!!

Who knew there would be great tasting, fresh Mexican food in Utah? Delicious food, similar price as Chipotle, and nice atmosphere. I think it's a lot nicer to eat here for dinner.

Cafe was recommended by Foodie acquaintance and checked yelp reviews. On positive side nice fresh food prepared per order by friendly and helpful staff. On the other hand, after living all over US and regular trips all over Mexico, my husband and I were nonplussed by the rave reviews (pork barbacoa, what the???? OK if you eat sweets for main course). Think we'll keep looking for good Mexican food.

Cafe Rio is pretty much one of my favorite resteraunts ever.... If you get anything make sure it's got the pork in it... Otherwise it just isn't worth it.
