My wife would be a very happy woman if I was able to rate this above 1 star. If that was the case, it would have probably meant we'd actually been able to eat here. Even if the food is disgusting, at least I could have given them a 2/5 based on the fact the floor was clean, it wasn't infested with roaches, or something comparable.
However, this store is apparently never open for business. Once we went early afternoon on a weekend and were greeted with a dirty, hand-scrawled sign that claimed they were closed, and the staff would be back in "10 minutes". Ten minutes from when, we didn't know. Thirty minutes later (my wife had a considerable pastry craving), no one had returned, and I left in disgust. My wife left with me, mostly heartbroken.
Against her better judgement my wife later escaped the house, probably filled with guilt about giving this establishment another shot. She arrived at 8pm, and though their sign states they are open until 10PM, they were long closed for business.
Apparently other people have eaten here. I can't see how. It's a grueling journey to the middle of nowhere just to arrive. Those who don't perish on the trek are greeted by closed doors and no explanation.
As the clever gentleman from Holland we met while waiting the first time commented on the sign and our wait: "Maybe they're on French time".
For now, they're probably on borrowed time. I'd be surprised if this place stayed open for much longer. Who knows, maybe they're already closed?
Cafe "Parisien"-very funny!! I was told that the proprietors of this supposedly genuine French bakery are actually from France. Well, if they are, they were probably stripped of their citizenships and dumped on the next boat to The New World in appreciation of their baking talents. We had some croissants and pastries and coffee. The stuff was as puffy and oversized as any McMansion in Hunters Green. This is probably the reason why they set up business out there...just not fit for any urban setting with discerning customers. Just good enough for Minivanistan, where bread with a crust is considered fit only for croutons in a salad from a bag...anyway, stay away from this place, and bake your own bread!
