This place really is as good as it gets. I have been coming here since I moved to Reno five years ago (actually, even before that) and always leave happy. My favorite is the half of the roast turkey sandwich with lingonberry. It is pretty much the most amazing thing I have tasted. They change out the sides with your sandwich every now and then. They used to do macaroni salad which was a shift, but ever so tasty. Today they had a pasta salad with fennel. Iced teas, hot teas, lattes are always good. If you really want to live on the edge, you need to go to their Sunday jazz brunches. Whew, to die for! Don't forget dessert, ever. Lemon bars are scrumptious.
Also, note their hours because they aren't open every day. I think this time when I went I saw Wed - Sun. -

What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon - lunch and art, followed by a mini-shopping spree in the museum shop!
While the menu is not overly extensive, the selections are varied enough that everyone should enjoy something. I chose a $9.95 sandwich which came on a giant crusty roll, thick slices of turkey, Havarti, spinach and ligonberry. Absolutely delicious. It came with a tiny dish of tart, tasty orzo.
I like that they have filtered water available (flavored with fresh slices of lemon and oranges). You order at the counter, then sit down and the food is delivered to your table in a few minutes. With the huge windows delivering sunlight, the light and airy environment is a delight and a positive way to start off your museum visit. -

I love this little Cafe. We always end up here because they are open the day after Thanksgiving and can be counted on for good food at affordable prices. I usually try to get their quiche of the day and/or their soup of the day. Their salads are HUGE and yummy too. This year I got the chicken fingers for something a little different when the soup and quiche selections didn't appeal to me. Check this place out. You won't be disappointed with the museum itself, the gift shop or this delightful little cafe!

Very nice cafe with wonderful selection of salads, hot and cold sandwiches and light desserts.
Several friends from work stopped by and we each enjoyed our choices. I had the Club sandwich which included grilled chicken, bacon, tomatoes, lettuce and a chipotle sauce. The flavors mixed well and I appreciated that the tomatoes were fresh and juicy.
One friend had the burger and loved it, one had the Asian Chicken salad which came piled high with fresh greens, chicken and crunchy noodles.
When I'm back in town, I wouldn't hesitate to give it another try. Very nice! -

I love Cafe Musee. The lunch specials are always good, and ingredients top notch. They serve Davidson's iced tea, which is a plus. The best part about this place is the service. All of the servers are warm and welcoming. Sara? (I really should know her name by now) always goes out of her way to smile, even when you can tell the pace is hectic.

My eating experience here has never disappointed. Fresh ingredients is what earmarks this place for me.
It's an order at the counter-get a table marker-server delivers kind of operation. I used to go there just for the portobello mushroom sandwich which I hope magically reappears on the menu one day. Eating in the museum adds to the ambiance.
You needn't have to go to the museum exhibits to be able to eat there. It has it's own side door entrance. It's menu and preparation aren't in a category to deserve a 5 star rating, but I'll gladly give it a 4. -

AMAZING fries! Beer battered goodness that's probably bad for you. Served in a cute little cone, you can stop by the fry station for some dipping sauce and wonderful water with a hint of citrus from the fresh slices floating inside. We did sandwiches at the Cheese Board across the street where they don't have the fries, and remembering how awesome those fries were years ago I had to go across the street for them with an espresso. Worth it. Great location inside the museum makes it great for a lazy Saturday looking at art and stopping to munch. The dessert case at the Cafe Musee looked delicious too, but we were too full from those huge sandwiches at the Cheese Board.

What is not to like about Cafe Musee? If you visit the fine collections at the Nevada Museum of Art, this is a great place to get a bite. The menu, though a bit pricey, is very fresh. Their specials change often and they offer some of the best salads in Reno. Food = Art, Art = Food.

Cafe Musee is one of the best places to eat in the Arlington - California Ave. area. They have great specials, soups, salads and service. Great atmosphere too.

While enjoying the museum and Woman with the Veil exhibit, I stopped by here for a half salad and sandwich. Very good. This is an enjoyable environment and a good little cafe with fresh salads, good sandwiches and beverages. On the expensive side I suppose if you add in the museum's admission price. But it makes for an enjoyable afternoon.Same owner/mgmt. as the CheeseBoard on Calif. St. I personally like this atmosphere and it reminds me of the many lunches I enjoyed at the cafe in the Museum Of Modern Art in NYC.
