My main problem with Cafe Mavi is that the portions are way too small for what they charge. That being said I'll probably be back here because they have some really good sandwiches. The menu is small, yet curiously diverse - there is a strong halal influence on this place and this is made evident by the falafel / lamb kebab sandwich options, and the largely Mediterranean staff. Its kind of a cozy yet casual atmosphere and there's free WiFi. Tables can be kind of cramped when it's crowded.
I'll come back here but probably would first look for something that gives me more food for the same price. -

Had a great meatball soup and Appleseed salad.

I enjoy Cafe Mavi. When I am back home visiting the family this is where I always come to get my coffee. My family is addicted to Starbucks (I don't know why) especially when you have Mavi right here. My dad agrees with me that their coffee and espresso is far superior than anything else in town. They have pretty decent salads and wraps that are already made which I have enjoyed in the past. I have not sat down here to eat, but have heard good things. There Oatmeal is great!! When I think of Mavi coffee I think "Smooth".

Have now visited and had the coffee, and the hot chocolate, and the tea... and been inside on a windy blustery day.
Um, Summit why are you all hanging out at the horribly cliche and overpriced Starbucks a few doors down when you could be in a cute cozy Turkish coffee shop filled with wonderful love, food and drink?1 Previous Review: Show all »

I've been here a couple of times without a problem. Both times for lunch in nice weather.
It doesn't seem to stand out, though, so it gets 4 stars. Good smoothies! -

It pains me to give Cafe Mavi 2 stars.
Went for a late lunch with a friend. Had the baba ghanous, which was overly smoky and not of a very fine, smooth, consistency.
My standard yardstick to measure a Turkish restaurant is the Adana kebab. Mavi's rendition needs some work; exterior a bit soggy and not crispy, not a very flavorful cut of meat used (come on--a cut with more fat should not be expensive) and overall tasted more like a hamburger than an Adana kebab. My friend's chicken kebab was standard fare Greek diner-completely uninspiring and void of taste.
The outdoor seating area is pleasant and the service prompt, which is really what saves this place from a 1-star rating.

Went here for the first time today for breakfast, and was totally unimpressed. $8.95 for a bland Western Omelet with 3 slices of tomato as a side (which is what they substitute if you don't want the potatoes and toast!). I'll try them for lunch or dinner someday, but will never return for breakfast...definitely not worth the trip.

Nice Dunkin or Starbux alternative for breakfast. Better lunches and dinners at nearby places like Bona Vita
