Review from Greg A.
Broomfield, CO
In short: great food. Not so good coffee. Great environment. Fantastic Roosevelt Park across the street. Also across the street: a bus stop that connects you with Boulder, Denver, and cities to the North. Big old trees offer shade and comfort.
I'm a fan of Caffe Luna. I found Caffe Luna when I was down and out in the middle of the summer. The trees offered shade, and it was the most comfortable place around to get an internet connection and work for hours on improving my situation. I made friends there. I met fellow artists who could or would no longer tolerate the evolving yuppiedom and loss of spirit in Boulder. I made friends. I liked the place so much, I found an apartment nearby from which I am writing this review.
Longmont has fallen on hard times; hard hit by the recession. Sadly, this has affected Caffee Luna, with reduced staff and reduced hours. The internet is so spammed by nearby neighbors looking for a free connection, it is sometimes hard to connect with it.
Eggs are cooked using the steamer in the Expresso machine. This creates a lot of work (cleaning) for the staff, but it cooks the eggs in a delicious, unique way. The coffee is, sadly, not so great. Two carafes, one decaf, one regular, contain coffee that is usually more than 20 minutes old except perhaps during rush hour in the morning. The coffee at the 7-Eleven down the street is better. But who wants to consume coffee there? Nothing is perfect.
As other reviewers have mentioned, there is an awesome selection of books. No shortage of interesting reading material. -

Caffe Luna (it actually has two "f"s) makes its home in an adorable Victorian right on the edge of Roosevelt Park. It has a fabulous wrap-around porch which is just perfect for sitting, socializing, and sipping your coffee. It is a very relaxed cozy environment. The house itself is well-worn, which is a great departure from the sleek and shiny Starbuck's and wannabe Starbuck's that are fast encroaching upon Longmont.
My husband and I love to come here for breakfast on the weekend, and the owners, Mark and Josine, are just the nicest people. They remember what we always order and are shocked when we actually order something else! This is the epitome of a neighborhood cafe, where people know each others' names and are very friendly. The coffee is good -- better than nearby Ziggi's in our opinion -- and they have lots of pastries, pies, homemade breakfast options, burritos... it goes on -- it is actually a random mishmash of offerings. We usually get the ham and cheese croissant which is only $2.50. They have a great lox & bagel plate which is only $4.50. They have a number of sandwich options as well.
Word of warning - they do NOT take credit cards!Listed in: Places Worth Driving to…

Nothing like a delicious latte, familiar friends and a place that will remind you of Boulder in the early 70's.
Owned and operated by an adorable married couple.

Soooo.... let's jump right in to the dirty factor. This is not someplace you might want to observe the 5 second rule in. It's true. There is often a thin coating of grime. And yet - the charm! I LOVE this little house for a coffee getaway. There's something lovely about the big ol' porch and the books everywhere. I like the coffee here - prefer it to Ziggy's for sure - and like the culture even more.
Don't wear your best white outfit, don't cop an attitude, and don't only have plastic money. They take cash or checks. -

Coffee is fine, good pastries on hand, and I just love a coffee shop that has old mismatched furniture... and the porch! Very nice porch.
But here's the thing: whoever buys books for this place has excellent taste (it's a used bookstore too). Warren Commission report? Check. Philosophical books on architecture? Yes. Fiction, nonfiction, it's a bibliophile's gluetrap... I never leave without buying something. Be warned before you start perusing the shelves: they have what you didn't even know you wanted. -

Was going to meet a colleague here, but I arrived early and called her to change the location. (this was a couple of months ago, maybe January 2010)
There was something very unappealing about the place:
dank smell of dirty kitchen towels.
the emptiness.
the feng shui of the place
It was very different from the memory I had of the place from 4 or years ago.
I don't think I'll be back. -

The location is great, right across street from Roosevelt Park. That is the only thing I could say good about the place. The coffee was mediocre at best, the barista was unhelpful and sort of smug, until one of the apparent regulars came in, then he bent over backwards for the guy. The place was dirty inside, I dont believe they have been trained in ServeSafe or even proper temperature for milk etc. Oh the wifi was patchy at best.

Cafe Luna is a wonderful coffee shop in Longmont that's tucked away one block west of Main St. This funky looking house is a haven for affordable drinks, pastries, bagels and more. The laid-back nature of the establishment adds to it's charm. The walls are decorated with works of art from local artists and the relaxing atmosphere is enticing. There are a variety of baristas but my favorite is Lisa... once you meet her, you'll know why.

I love Caffe Luna! It is such a cozy place to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. The porch on the place is wonderful and has tons of trees so it is relaxing. I think I might go there now!

Longmont, CO
I love this place. There are now a number of coffee shops in Longmont. What distinguishes this place is the environment and the people. The shop is in an old house with indoor and outdoor tables. The food is prepared as you wait, and there are many more selections than the scones and cookies or reheated burritos and breggo that are the staples of most coffee shops around here. Plus the prices are right. I like the bagel, lox, and capers and which is under $5.
