This was a delightful surprise, as I'd have to admit I didn't expect so much from a Whidbey Island cafe right in the midst of a very populated (and captive) tourist area.  Although this place offers no views of the water, it was a cozy little place and we had a nice window seat good for people watching.  Our server was energetic, friendly and on top of her game.

Some once told me, always get the special.  And I'm glad I did (got the last one for the day too)!  The baked Pisticio (basically a Greek lasagne) was one of the most delicious Mediterranean dished I have ever enjoyed.  The side Greek salad was good too, with a nice amount of tomatoes, olives and feta cheese.

I had a beef gyros sandwich and the Greek egg lemon soup. Both were excellent. The sandwich was huge and full of veggies and large strips of freshly grilled meat. Nice atmosphere and good menu selection of Mediterranean dishes.

I enjoyed the Fruit Del Mar pasta dish and it was fantastic. Tons of mussels, scallops, and shrimp. The Raspberry Russian Cream dessert is good too. I would not plan going there with a large group. It is slightly cramped. We had 5 and felt crowded. I would also not bring kids here unless they are more adventurous eaters.

Came to Langley on a short weekend afternoon getaway before the sun disappears for the winter.  Never been here so decided to stop in at the cutesy little town.  After browsing around stopped here for lunch.  First greeted by a warm staff in a small, cozy dining area.  First thing our server did was turn down the music as it was a little loud, although I didn't notice until she said something.  It did make conversation much easier.  Had a gyro and greek salad, gf had a tuna sandwich.  Defitely would come back again

Langley is one of the few towns on Whidbey Island that seems to have more than a couple respectable-looking restaurants. We chose this particular place because my parents wanted soup and this seemed to be the best choice. I was afraid the menu would be full of boring sandwiches and typical cafe fare, but I was proven wrong (as I often am).

I had the grilled tuna sandwich which was a large hunk of tuna served on a tasty pita with a mango salsa. It was served with a gigantic Greek salad. My dad ordered the same thing; my mom had a bowl of tomato basil bisque. They ate every last bite of their food...I left a chunk of tuna just to prove I could stop at any time.

Next time I'm in Langley, I won't hesitate to go back.

Service was great; restaurant was clean; nice menu selection.

Best sit down lunch in Langley. The Mediterranean menu is appealing. The lamb is always perfectly prepared. The specials are usually good. The staff is attentive and friendly. Locals love it. If you want to eat there during summer evenings, be sure to make a reservation.

UPDATE - Since I am no longer eating red meat (and I can't eat dairy), I find it difficult to find much to eat here for dinner, but I do still like it for lunch. The specials are varied and always offer something different and appealing.

dinner saturday night was between 2 places: cafe langley and prima bistro, the italian place 2 doors down - both had 2 vegetarian options on the menu. hubby chose cafe langley.

the 2 items they offer are pasta acropolis and a vegetarian platter. the pasta was boring and bland, and had very little pasta under a huge mound of sauce. the vegetarian platter is a combo of babaganoush (the worst i've ever had, tasted bad and was pureed like baby food), hummus (too much garlic even for me), dolmas (small but very well spiced), spanakopita (overcooked, not enough filling), and marinated eggplant (eh).

middle eastern/mediterranean are usually the type of place where i can get traditional food that is vegetarian and done well. here they must focus solely on the meat, as other reviewers seem to like it a lot. we won't be back.
