Opened in November of 2007, this African themed cafe stands on the corner of Aurora and 115th.  Walking by it for several weeks, I finally walked into it and without any remorse!  The coffee is good and the drip is fresh at all times of day.  Their iced drinks seem to hold their own in coldness for a lengthy time and mocha's are delicious, though not as sweet as you may be used to from other cafes.

Seating is arranged with several tables down the left side, counter to the right and couches/chairs in the back.  The music is light but at such a volume where you can enjoy either a mildly toned conversation or good read.

The owners are helpful and intent on remembering your face, which I can appreciate very much.  They've got excellent recs and love trying new ideas so come in and challenge them!  On another note, I came here on my walk to work this morning and asked for a business card.  The Barista ended up handing me a punch card (ensuring that would suffice, of course), and proceeded to stamp it several times for the last few weeks that I've been in.  That alone makes me want to come back!

Friendly, fast and genuine!  YAY!  I'm a fan.

This modest new cafe has a rather odd location that is convenient for NW Hospital visitors, Home Depot shoppers, and those attending a wake across the street at the cemetary. Located in the bottom floor of a condo building along 99 sounds good, but it's a risky location.

The decor is East African, the food (and music) is decidedly American: hamburgers, soups, and basic sandwiches to the the tunes of K-Tel 70's and 80's records. The main focus is coffee, although I'm hoping they learn to make it stronger and not so sweet. My burger was completely avoidable, but the seasoned fries were good.

So why 3 stars? Chutzpah and hope that this place -- the first with wifi within an easy walk of my house -- can improve and become viable. The owners are incredibly nice, and this is the kind of place whose success bodes very well for an area under-served by pedestrian businesses.
