Cute place, good location among the various area businesses, friendly service & very affordable....plus, everything was amazing to eat & drink!

The coffee was standard brew but it was dark & delicious. ($1.75 for regular)
Apricot scone was fantastic - like a bite of fresh apricot in every bite of the scone ($2)
Blini - they warm it up for you! Cream cheese filled & doughy, gooey, & covered in cinnamon sugar...I wish I had bought 3 or 4 of these. ($1.85)

Lunch menu looked pretty good too & the specialty drinks seemed popular with everyone else there.

It's too bad, Iveta has so much potential. The food there is delish. But, the lack of customer service is evident every time I go! I would rather go down the street to Kelly's Bakery, and deal with their annoying parking lot and get the same quality food, then go to Iveta. There is a reason Kelly's is crowded.
My order has been forgotten, my bagel order has been wrong, and I have also received a breakfest croissant when I ordered a lox bagel. Seriously.
To make things worse when you step inside, the music is loud. The young, college kids that work there shout over the music to talk to one another. While you're waiting (a long time) for your food, you can hear every conversation and detail about their social lives. Being a 30-something working adult this is considerably annoying. The employees should spend less time socializing and more time trying to make this business work.

It's fine for what it is. The staff is usually pretty friendly. Oftentimes I will be there and get super annoyed at the long line of high school students who have taken over the place during their lunch hour. Other times my order has been forgotten or made improperly. I do go here a lot though because its about three doors down from my job. My friends, who drink coffee, don't have a problem with it.

The scones are made with a simple prepared box mix and are nothing special. Then again, they are also pretty good for what they are. The biscuit egg sandwich is delicious. The bagels are good (I think they are from the Bagelry) but they don't give you too much cream cheese. The BLINI IS INSANE-O-MAZING and unbelievably good when heated up. The seasonal spritzers are also pretty good. I do love the BLT.

Overall, a good place to hit up when on the westside.

The only reason they got 1 star was because @ least my coffee was hot,,, seriously what is the big deal? Scones, coffee , baked goods, basic.you would think . WRONG !!!!!! 1 I don't like to have to say my order more than 2 times.2 bagel, toasted, cream cheese , lox, basic. WRONG !!!!!!!! I got an everything bagel with some kinda shmeer & what I think was @ 1 time avacado... Bummed. Turn down the music, pull your head out of your ass. Nobody wants to hear the latest in the life of a slug. I would have taken it back but was already @ work....

Just finished visiting the Butterfly Preserve at Natural Bridges when hunger pangs set in

We were just looking for something as a snack as we knew we had dinner rezzies that evening - Cafe Iveta pops into view

    OMG is this place super-scrumptious

Staff was nice as could be & they seemed genuinely happy to see us, happy to be there & happy about their delish treats

BF got the Roast Beef Sandwich & it was eye-roll-inducingly good.  He got it w/ the hot peppers & they were super hot & super gewd.  He really liked the overall combination & said the flavors were outstanding - sandwich scarfed!

I chose the Hummus Bagel ( on a Sea Salt Bagel ) & it was some of the best tasting homemade hummus I've ever had.  The freshness of the cool cucumbers & sprouts, combined w/ the HUGE pile of humus made this a treat I couldn't stop eating

I'd totally make this a must-stop when in Santa Cruz & would more especially look forward to trying out their pastries as they looked out of this world!

    Bread Pudding ......you're mine!!!

What a little diamond in the rough!  Tucked away in an industrial part of town, I was lucky to find this place as my boyfriend works i the next lot over.

Two words:  Bangin' Americano!   Plenty of seating, the menu for lunch looks awesome, and their scones are pretty tasty!

    5 stars all the way!

Use caution when reviewing this place. I have been a yelper for two years now and have NEVER had an experience like this one! I recently reviewed cafe Iveta. I had a bad experience but the scone was delish and the people were nice but a hair on my plate, i cant handle. So naturally as a yelper, I wanted to share my experience. Well....I had my yelp account hacked. After hours of sorting things out, I found out someone affiliated w cafe Iveta, bc of my neg review, hacked into my yelp account and disabled it. Removing my review from C.I. I already contacted yelp. Just use caution when reviewing this place.

I've become a regular here at Cafe Iveta. Love their scones, especially the apricot ones.  I'll echo what others have said which is that this joint is friendly to those who are on a vegetarian and gluten-free diet.  Their iced lattes are badass and they have coconut flavoring, so this drink keeps me coming back for more!  I've had the Tunisian Tuna sandwich which I think is really tasty, but I tend to like tuna fish that isn't mixed with tons of mayo... when there's not as much mayo, the meat tastes more fishy.  If that's not your speed, try the BLT and add avocado AND the fried egg. Amazing, according to the hub.   Love the ambiance.  Although "cozy" inside, it's clean and bright with plenty of natural light.  There's an afternoon lunch rush but refreshingly quiet for most of the day.  The outdoor patio is lovely, particularly now that the summer weather is hitting!  Oh, two more things: 1) If you love the place and think you'll come back, start a frequent customer account and get points, and 2) If you have a large group coming, maybe for a bridal/baby shower, there's an upstairs loft that you can rent out. Inquire within.  Love Cafe Iveta!

I like their foamy cappuccino! There was a bit of a burnt after-taste though. The cafe itself is nice, but it looks kind of high-end (so it feels a little intimidating to go in). The staff was friendly and mentioned that the cafe was more well-known for the food.

A small cafe located in an industrial area has a built-in clientele with all the employees of the local businesses, AND with the high school next door, which leads me to this caveat: don't go during the weekday noon lunch crunch!  It's totally packed with high schoolers and can be quite a wait.

Having said that, the scones are good, not overly sweet, which isn't easy when the ingredients include lavender and white chocolate.  They offer gluten free, which I appreciate.  Sandwiches are decent, nothing to write home about.  Worth the wait: the fresh juice drinks.   Overall, I like the out of the way location and that it's a relaxing alternative to fluster cluck of crowds, long lines and increasingly mediocre food at that other local bakery down the road on Ingalls St.

I think this place tries to make something work in a horrible location however the business plan and atmosphere is off as are the staff.

First I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, egg and tomato only to overhear a loud conversation with staff that they were out of cream cheese and that the bread was left out all night and some issue with tomato. Made me wonder what I was going to get on my food...

Scones are yummy and coffee good but a place cannot make it on coffee and scones alone. I really don't get the location and highly suggest they take their baked goods mobile and wholesale to better locales as this is just not "it".

i love this place! the cinnamon chip scones are sooo good! the barista was nice enough to give us a free one in addition to the one we ordered! the chai is not overly spicy and not too sweet. and the iced peach black tea was very fragrant and not bitter. the place is super bright w/ all the natural lighting and nicely tucked away from the crowded dntn. i wish they would expand their hours :(. their menus looks sooo good at reasonable prices.

We got a deal off of http://campuscred.com to get $15 worth of Cafe Iveta's for $7 (which is still going on right now). Then my friend and I each got a roast beef sandwich.
This roast beef sandwich was gooooooooooooooooood. It had garlic butter with the crunchy french bread and the au jus sauce. It melted in my mouth. It was delicious. Scrumptious. The layers of roast beef combined with the powers of garlic and au jus to create the ultimate flavor eruption. Definitely gonna go back for these sandwiches.
Also, the scones were great with some hot chocolate afterwards.

If you like soft and moist scones, this is the place to go! It was perfect because the scones weren't too sweet --- just enough. I don't like the Starbucks scones because they tend to be hard and crumbly, but no so with these! They have 5-6 flavors in their display at any given point in time, and all very good! White choco lavender was exotic, but personally my favorite was the raspberry orange one! Each scone costs an inexpensive $2, but with the Groupons I had, we were able to go home with a box of six yummy scones, two boxes of scone mix, and also a jar of lemon curd.

This place is a little gem in Santa Cruz!!!

The location is a bit strange, very office-park looking, I wasn't sure if I was in the right place at first.  The inside is very white and sterile looking - reminds me of a professional kitchen. OK, on to the good stuff... I was welcomed with bright smiling faces including by those just hanging out - friendly, welcoming groupies, cool... really good cappuccinos here, excellent cookies that are loaded with flavor.  Cafe menu looks great.

Gluten-free scones and baking mixes here.

Met a friend for lunch here yesterday. I was told Delaware and Swift is where to meet and was surprised to find such a cute, modern lil cafe tucked into the commercial/industrial neighborhood.

Walked in and J said they had great sandwiches so we chose two and shared. The space is very open and bright due to the large front windows. Their seating is minimal but enough for the small traffic they seem to have, although we did come in for a late lunch. The service is friendly and speedy enough.

The sandwiches were great though. We shared the Caprese and Roast Beef which both said were served on ciabatta but I am pretty sure the Roast Beef came on a sourdough roll. They were super yummy. The Caprese was well enhanced by the pest spread on the roll and the mozzarella was a wonderful texture. The Roast Beef featured giardiniera of jalapenos (http://www.coco-cooks....) which was awesome. It was a great spice and perfect for the tender slices of beef. We shared a bowl of their eggplant sou as well and thought it delightful. A hint of spiced character really did the trick.

Will show again for sure and try the scones. I hear the are all the crave.

Nestled in a small business park is this hidden gem. The staff is genuinely friendly and happy to provide suggestions. The heavens may have opened and angels may have been singing  upon the first bite of white chocolate lavender scone . Truly they have re-imagined scones to be delicate, sophisticated and delightful.  I've never had a scone quite like these, they're lovely. Second visit I tried the ginger scone, which was good - but not as extraordinary as the white chocolate lavender. The blinis were fantastic too - rich, flavorful and decadent.  The environment is white and sunny, rather than cozy, but there's a nice courtyard area.  It's also pretty neat they have gluten free scones too.

We happened by this new cafe after going for a run to Wilder Ranch. So curious about the sign board on the street we bought we'd check it out.
What a treat! We already buy their scone mix and love it. Now we can sample scones before trying a mix? How decadent! We ordered a bit of everything: The caprese sandwich was quite tasty with homemade pesto. We sampled the chocolate chip scone and a raspberry as well - quite tasty as well! We got 2 more for a snack later today. Also ordered decaf espresso drinks - a mocha and a latte - that were well prepared. Danielle was very friendly so stop by and show the. Some love!

Best mocha I've had in SC by far. Also tried the donut muffin - brilliant, low-guilt yumminess. Looks like we have a new cafe to make up for the demise of Beckmans on the westside!

Mom had the fritatta and biscuit, gave a big thumbs up. She's from the south, so that's quite an endorsement on the biscuit.

I have tried a lot of things on the menu, but the main things that stand out to me are the scones (white chocolate & lavender has been the best I've had and i hate white chocolate), the oatmeal comes w/ brown sugar and currants and is a good breakfast filler upper. The mocha sucks ass and so does the chai. The customer service is a hit or miss at times. The prices are sort of pricey,($3.50 oatmeal) but for Santa Cruz it's decent in pricing.

Love this place. I come here often (I work down the street) and always find the staff to be very nice and the food to be fresh and homemade. The scones are truly amazing. The only reason I didn't give this place 5 stars was because the baristas can get a little distracted when making my drinks and end up making me late. However, as I said before, they have make good drinks and have delicious scones and biscuits.

Tried Cafe Eveta for the first time last week.  The menu is limited--and none of the iced tea options were "unflavored" (grrr)--HOWEVER, I enjoyed the best beef sandwich I have EVER tasted.  For a small additional charge i added a mixture of spicy vegetables to the sandwich that sent it over the top.  The roll it was served on was exquisite, even though it was not baked on-site according to the very helpful counter-person.  My wife reported that her tuna salad sandwich was similarly a joy.  Prices were reasonable.

We have purchased Iveta scone mixes for several years; the resulting scones are easy to make and always a smash with whomever tastes them.

Go to their webste for shopping, http://www.iveta.com. They have the best scone mixes. I highly recommend the apricot scone mix and the apple spice mix. The mixes come in a nice box for gifting, but there is an option for a bag packaging that will save you money. I have tried many of the flavors of scones and never been disappointed. I am now ordering the biscuit mix... :)

Excellent espresso and quite possible the BEST homemade scone recipes in the greater bay area! Free Wifi, lots of natural light and generally not crowded (until discovered by SC's undergrad population). This cafe is well worth driving far out of your way for.  I have had a little variability in the consistency of their drinks since a few of their baristas have varied styles (like the way they finish a mocha, for example).  But always delicious!
