Cafe Istanbul was my introduction to Turkish food, which has since become my favorite. I can honestly say that I've thought about (and craved) their Iskender Kebab every single day since I had it for the first time back in March of this year. Perfectly cooked pieces of lamb over pieces of pita soaked in tomato sauce and yogurt - absolutely incredible. I didn't even like lamb until I had this dish! We usually order the vegetarian appetizer sampler plate also, which in and of itself would make a fantastic small dinner. Everything tastes fresh and delicious.
Their service has always been attentive, helpful and friendly. Dining on their outside patio during the summer, mangotini in hand, with the sights and sounds of the levee is one of my happiest memories! I always make a point to visit whenever I visit Cincinnati - can't wait to go back. -

Warm and well decorated, Cafe Istanbul is a beautiful space, golden and full of good smells. I ate there with my family on Christmas when all the other eateries in the city were closed. The food is excellent and worth every penny spent. The service at our table was timely and impeccable. I was a little shocked that we ended up there because my father has never been a fan of Mediterranean food but it was difficult for him to come up with anything bad to say about the place. Our calamari was crisp and not too rubbery. My tilapia was wonderful, not overpowered by flavors and dad was able to order a ribeye.

We stopped by Cafe Istanbul after we heard about from our friends. This restaurant is worth a visit is worth every penny. It was especially worth it for us because there were vegetarians in our group and they had no problem ordering from the menu. We got the Mercimek Çorba soup, falafel, Döner Kebab (which was simply delicious), Mixed grill kebab (this is like a sampler), a couple of vegetarian entrees and for desert we got Baklava. The spices were not overpowering. Will definitely visit again and recommend for someone who wants to try something new.
