Decent Hawaiian food - the interior needs a little help.
You have to give their breakfast a try - it's hard to eat it all.
Definitely family run but that is part of the charm. -

When it comes to the perfect restaurant, there's three things i look for: good food (duh!), portions that will satisfy my ravenous appetite and reasonable cost (that my broke self can afford). Cafe Hawaii does all three with ease. I was heading back from Mt. Ranier and there it was, the restaurant of my dreams. Now I don't have to make the trek to federal way (L&L) for my plate lunch fix. If you're a Hawaii local stuck in Tacoma and craving kal bi, lau lau, or kalua pork this is the place to be. And if you happen to be heading to Mt. Ranier, make sure you get a plate lunch to go and I would highly suggest stopping for a plate on the way back.
