I went to Cafe Goa this afternoon for lunch. We looked at the lunch menu, but didn't find anything Goan on it. So we asked if we could order off the dinner menu instead. We ordered the Chicken Xacuti and the Traditional Goan fish curry. Both were tasty, but I wouldn't have been able to tell them apart. I couldn't taste the coconut in the chicken or the tamarind in the fish. In terms of quantity, it's a decent portion size - but not worth the 15$ price tag per entree.
Our waiter was very nice, but seemed a bit rushed although there were just 3 other tables.
I'm not sure I'd stop by here even if I were in the neighborhood again... -

A hidden gem in the most unlikely of places! It's right on route 110 in Westford, nestled in a strip mall amongst a whole bunch of strip malls and an office park. You'd think this was blah office fare, right?
Totally totally wrong. I've been to this place three, four times now? This is not your average Indian fare -- sure, they have a buffet at lunch and sure, they have tikka masala and tandoori and lussies and all that good stuff -- but it's specifically Goan.
When you go in here, go to the last page of the menu where the specials are and order yourself a Goan specialty. They're mango, coconut, delicious fruity flavors mixed with curries and meats in the most delectable ways.
I love the Chicken Xacuti and find it hard not to order every time. This is Indian food to the next level.
The first time I went to this restaurant I was the guest of a Goan Indian woman who said the food was authentic and fantastic. I've taken my family here now several times and they adore it.
I get the feeling this place is crowded during lunch and dinners on weekdays, but every time we've gone on Sunday afternoons for lunch it's totally empty. The food is made-to-order so it was super fresh when we got it. But it doesn't matter when you go, just do yourself a favor and make a stop at Cafe Goa. Highly highly recommended. -

The first time I went there they were out to dal makanhi and tried to pass something else off on me. I guess they figured that I wouldn't know any better. Wrong!
So, you are probably wondering why I ever did business with them again. When I brought back the first order and complained, they bent over backwards to make it up to me. Since they had just opened, I was inclined to give them another chance. I am glad that I did.
I still think that Cafe Goa is the second best Indian restaurant in the area (behind India Palace), but it is good. Their menu is different than India Palace. There is more than enough room for both. I tend to go there when other people would like to. As I said, it is my second choice.
It is pricier than other Indian places in the area, but I don't think that you actually get better quality or quantity for that extra cash. The menu is different than other places around. So, I enjoy the variety. -
