This is the best place for lunch in the Carson Valley, hands down. It's not fast food, and it's not fast food prices, but everything is very fresh and delicious. Most soups are prepared every morning (not days or weeks ahead-of-time), and everything made there is created using the freshest and best-tasting ingredients.
From the addictive salad dressing to the unique daily specials, it's difficult to find fault with anything at this establishment. Perhaps the only thing one should take into account is that it is quite often packed to the fullest and since everything is made fresh, it can sometimes take a bit longer than expected to get your food.
I never liked tomato soup until I tasted the Tomato Basil Bisque - it is incredible! The food at Cafe Girasole is big city, cutting edge taste in a small town, cozy, friendly atmosphere. Give this place a try - you won't be sorry! -

Cafe Girasole offers creative, delicious, healthy food that is freshly prepared each day. What a pleasant surprise to find such high quality, interesting gourmet food right in Garnerville!
The service is friendly, and helpful. On my first visit, I had a generous sandwich made with the tasty chicken salad of the day topped with fresh veggies and avocado on squaw bread. Perfect combination! The owner let me sample two side dishes (half each) instead of the one that's included. The curried orzo salad was divine, and the bow tie pasta salad was scrumptious! Also included with our sandwiches was a choice of unsweetened mango iced tea, or herb water. Both were refreshing and welcome! My companion's grilled panini sandwich was yummy and she loved her side dishes as well.
Since discovering Cafe Girasole, I have eaten there many times -- each time I visit my family in the Carson Valley. I will definitely continue to return to this terrific restaurant!

This is a great spot, and worthy of adding to your dining list.
Lea and I stopped in last week for a quick lunch and we were very happy. I had "The Girasole", a veggie sandwich comprised of four cheeses, caramelized onions, garlic aeoli and sunflower seeds. I loved it. My wife had a turkey sandwich and I can't remember the name of it, but she loved it, and the bite I tasted was good as well. Both were served with a side salad and our choice of dressings.
So, while there are a few really good options for lunch in town now, this establishment surely warrants inclusion on the short list.

So. Amazing.
This cafe is one of my favorite lunch places. It offers fresh sandwiches and various pasta-salad and cold side dishes. Like chicken. And Tortellini. And scrumptious stir-fried veggies.
But mostly sandwiches. There is a selection of pre-designed sandwiches but I generally create my own; the most common being a ham-and-swiss on sourdough. So flipping amazing.
The prices are not high for the food quality; I spent $10 on a sandwich with side salad and bottled water.
In conclusion: Go here. It's worth your time, and your money. -

my husband and i are here for a wedding in garnerville, nevada. our fave thing to do when out of town is to find the best local businesses thru yelp. we found a real gem this time. so much so the first thing i have done is to come back to the hotel and write a review.
cafe girasole is charming, cute with an outstanding menu. leslie the owner came out and spoke to us when she heard we loved their food. she then brought us a complimentary dessert because we were out of towners.
i had the curry chicken salad sandwich, and the hubs had the the bella vita. both were fresh, tasty, and made with top notch ingredients. the house salad on the side was to die for, as was the mango iced tea.
check this place out, folks. we are jealous this place isn't in california!! -

The food here is great the only problem I have with it is service. They are usually pretty good but not always. They are friendly but one day she completely forgot our order and had us waiting forever. But any way the food is very fresh and healthy which is a big thing for me. Its all made fresh and their cucumber water is nice and refreshing and although snug it is a very clean and pretty place. I wish it was open longer during the day.

This is a great place to have lunch. My girlfriend and I come here all the time and I order the same thing and its great. My girlfriend gets the panini's and can't stop talking about them and their tea. The mango tea is really refreshing and it always hits the spot. The price is reasonable and the service is great. Takeout is fast and is always perfect.

Food is amazing and lots of gluten free options!!! Soups, sandwiches, ice tea, coffee, desserts, service...all five stars! All of the soups are gluten free and amazing! They always have gf bread in stock, every sandwich I've ever had here has rocked my palate. If you haven't been here, go! Prices are right, I'd happily pay more. They are also going to start serving dinner soon too!

I love this place, however I can't give it more than four stars. The food here is beyond good and it makes my workday a little more tolerable when I have lunch here, but every time I call to order ahead no one answers and it is pretty common to wait if you don't order to go. I'm sure it is because they are so busy but it is still annoying - they could also use a bigger space (again because they are so busy). It is my favorite place for lunch in town (I hear they are now serving dinner - yay!) I just wish I had a longer lunch break to wait for my food.

The prices were reasonable. The owners were very friendly and the service fast. The food was outstanding. I had the special which was a grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, and a salad. The sandwich was the best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had - I am biased though I love pesto and basil both of which were in the sandwich. Highly recommended. I plan on stopping by here whenever I am in the area. Thanks to Lacey S. for reviewing and finding this little gem first.

Great, distinctive food. They have a good selection of paninis, salads, and soups. Go early or late for lunch, otherwise there is a line to get in. Seating is tight, and many of the chairs are the backless kind. They do take-out as well as catering. I'm predicting they will outgrow this location within the next year.
