Sweet and homey, Cafe Genevieve seems to attract mostly locals. It has adorable but understated decor, including a painting of "a most noble pig". It was a relief not to see the walls plastered with those overpriced posters of wildlife photography featured everywhere else in Jackson. Ok, talk about the food already...
I had an elk and buffalo chili, which took 2nd place in a local contest (so I'm told). It was delicious, but I guess I don't have much experience with um.. exotic meats. Think of a zesty, lean and slightly sweet chili. Others in my party were also pleased with their orders (a panini and the 2 egg breakfast). Must try the fries. I would eat them every day if I could. Hell, I would probably sleep in a nest of them and eat them in my sleep if i could. -

Oh boy... This place was really disappointing. Lucky it was buy 1 entree get one free because if I had to pay full price for this meal I would have complained.
There is so much they can do to make this place better. The bread was hard old and disgusting. Fresh dinner rolls would have been nice. Also they could offer you a soup or salad option and a side dish with your meal. Will not be coming here again until/if they clean up their act. -

The Crispy Striped Bass with Tasso, black eyed peas, corn and arugula pesto is the best execution of Striped Bass I have ever experienced. See the photo in the photo collection.

Went in for 2 for 1s. Atmosphere good, service spot on. Pork belly app and crab cakes were solid. I got beef short ribs as an entree and they were delicious. Wasn't too into the potato pie as the starch, and the chocolate bread pudding was disappointing, but not enough reason to not go back.

We went to get some breakfast at Jedediahs, only to learn that it was closed at this
location. It was now Cafe Genevieve. We decided to stay. What we got was a hot plate full of fresh breakfast fare. Everything on the plate was super good and fresh. We liked it so much that we decided to eat dinner there one night. I had the trout and it was very good. You can tell this place cares about putting out a great product. We ended up eating breakfast for lunch(breakfast served untl 3 PM) once more. No drop off. These were probably the best 3 meals we ate on our trip. -

I had the roast pulled pork sandwich. at $12.50 its a little steep for Pork Butt. There seasoning was non existent. If you taking the time to pull the pork, leave the fatty piece out of the sandwich. It looks and tastes like they make the potato chips, they were good.

The people were very nice, but the food came out a little cool. Weird considering the waiter warned us of the hot plate.

Genevieve is my local spot, and I'm there on a weekly basis. It is a cozy local spot that serves good food in a friendly atmosphere. Tomato soup and grilled cheese combo is a perfect lunch. Only indifferent meal I've had was the meatloaf, everything else is solid. In the summer they serve an iced white wine cocktail that sounds odd but is divine!

Really tasty and interesting twist on southern food. Definitely get the mac and cheese side dish with your meal since it is worth it. good meal after a full day on the slopes,

We stopped in for a late lunch after doing the local sleigh ride, and found this place to be delightful. My wife said that the grilled cheese was the best she'd ever had, and I really enjoyed my Italian Panini. One of their specialties is the 'candied pig,' which garnishes their Apple Fritter. They also have a full selection of espresso drinks and deserts.

Amazing breakfast to cure a hangover. Yummy mimosas and bloody marys. The portions are perfect. The atmosphere is a great house like setting!

Wandered into Cafe Genevieve after a day of sightseeing. So glad we did. The service was great and our food was top notch. An added bonus was a special two for one entree offer many restaurants in Jackson Hole offer during the off season. Highly recommend this wonderful slice of foodie heaven! Yum.

My friends and I were directed here from a restaurant across the street, where the wait was over an hour and a half. The hostess there assured us we would love it, and she was right. It's a small place, but they were happy to accommodate our party of eight. As a group, we tried just about everything on the small menu and no one was disappointed. The service was great and I felt the prices were reasonable for the kind of food we were served.
My friends particularly raved about the steak frites and the beef bourgignon. I had the wild mushroom papardelle w/goat cheese and it was delicious - very filling for a meatless dish. I finished it, even though I was full before I was halfway through. (That might have something to do with our delicious appetizer, though...) One of the couples we dined with went back here 3 nights in a row for dinner. I definitely would have gone back if there weren't several other restaurants I wanted to try out. I highly recommend it. -

Genevieve serves well-executed diner food with nice-restaurant setting and service. My wife had the corned beef hash and I had the eggs benedict, and both were quite good. The benedict came with perfectly roasted potatoes (much less greasy than hash browns!). The fruit plate had lots of fresh berries, not your standard throwaway melon slices.
That said, it's still diner food, so $40 for breakfast for two was a bit steep. Genevieve's a good choice if it's convenient and you're not too price-sensitive, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. -

We have to agree with Dan G., though set in a homey and rustic atmosphere, the food here was just a step up from what you could get at any local diner (but, since there are no local diners in touristy Jackson -- don't get us wrong, we love the town -- this has to suffice).
Overpriced and fancily served. -

Houston, TX
My cheeseburger tasted homemade, just like my moms (but with better bread). My husbands chicken panini was sooooooo darn good. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, just like your mom would make, assuming she is a good cook and all. I would have loved to try this place a second time but Texas beckoned me back too soon.

Fremont, CA
After peeking at many menus at restaurants near the town square with disappointment in the lack of anything truly interesting we were so happy we stumbled upon Cafe Genevieve! We really appreciate unpretentious places with inventive menus that feature fresh, local ingredients and Genevieve did not disappoint! We had a lovely dinner for 3 on the deck and enjoyed watching the Ravens and locals stroll by.
Each course was excellent, the service was attentive without being at all pushy and the desserts were especially remarkable. I won't comment on specific dishes as the menu likely changes frequently, but I can say we all enjoyed everything that we ordered.
The portions are very reasonable (not huge, but sane) and it is a bit pricey, but very worth it for the quality ingredients and presentation they are serving. Know that going in and your expectations will be well met.
A true little gem in Jackson! -

Montebello, CA
The food is not bad, but the portions are too small and the food is overpriced for what you get. The 3 times I ate there, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the coffee was always lukewarm. I had hoped each time I returned, things would be different, but they weren't.

Manhattan, NY
Today came in for a morning/lunch and i know there are tons of local that eat here plus there a awesome manager name jesse. We decided it was such a nice day so we sat outside and it was nice and warm. The food was not so good, i order a caprese panni w.homemade chips. The sandwich was bland and the chips were too fry for my taste. I wish i order the fried chicken and waffle but i was thinking right., My friend order the egg benedict and when it came out. It was the smallest egg benedict that i ever saw plus it was like $13, what a waste. Anyway don't think i will be coming back here anytime soon.

Really liked this place. Very nice menu with a few unusual items. I had the pasta with wild mushrooms, which was fantastic. My friend had the steak frites, but was disappointed in the steak (it was tough -- he should have sent it back). Wine list was very good and pretty reasonable.

Chicago, IL
We were warmly greeted and unlike many places in town, we felt truly welcome and not shuffled into a reservation schedule. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the evening was perfect for outdoor seating. We had fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, which were excellent. The sauce was very good too, spicy for me, but I still enjoyed it. I was slightly disappointed with the fried chicken I had seen recommended, it was very greasy and 2 of the 4 pieces were not great quality. Then again, it is fried chicken! The mac and cheese (the side) clearly was high quality cheese, even a layer of melted cheese before the breadcrumb topping. My companion had the jambalaya which was very spicy and somewhat dry. Given the salt content and spice, he drank a considerable amount of water to finish his meal. Our server was extremely accomodating and personable, service was excellent. We'd go back and try some of the other interesting menu items. We did feel it was somewhat higher priced, but then again, this is Jackson Hole. Our tab was $65 for 2, and we had no drinks.

Austin, TX
Great new place in Jackson - serves american comfort food -- had the bacon wrapped pork chop, others had blackened catfish and pasta with bison, veal and elk -- all delicious. Jackson has fairly pricey restaurants and then bar food so this place is a great mid priced restaurant and one that's now on our list of places to go.
