Recently had a great dinner  here with two other couples on a Friday night.

The atmosphere is upscale casual with soft lighting and tasteful decor.  The bar area boasts a nice horseshoe area for seating with friends with some smaller tables with comfy chairs for more intimate outings.

Met the other two couples at the "small" bar off the dining room right at our dinner reservation time.  A cozy, intimate little spot to have some before dinner chit-chat and relax with a cocktail.

We felt no pressure to go to the table but had just a gentle reminder from the hostess that our table was ready when we lost track of time over drinks.  Very classy and subtle.

We shared a few apps at the table  which were average but would not have been my choice...calamari and coconut shrimp were tasty, but not eye-popping.

The meals are always over-the-top delicious here.  This time was not any different.

I had the house special osso bucco that, per my request, was served over risottoa instead of red, mashed potatoes.  Their risotta is one of my favorites.  It is creamy and flavorful with an al-dente firmness nicely seasoned with fresh herbs.  The osso bucco was a tender, meaty delight...so good.

Our waiter was great.  Service was top-notch and attentive.

Just a short stroll from other great watering holes on Main St. in East Greenwich makes this place a good place to start your night out.

The food at Cafe Fresco will never disappoint. The portions are huge and delicious, although occasionally on the pricey side. The menu is eclectic, even the pizzas come in unusual as well as the popular varieties. I usually stop in for their fantastic pizza deal in the bar area.

Pizzas, risotto and seafood dishes are a must. I've never had a bad meal here. And you can go for a romantic evening for two, a business dinner and afterdinner drinks and find the atmosphere inviting. The bar area is very nice. Lowlit, spacious, a sprawling bar.

My friend and I went for dinner recently.  Siena was closed, so we decided on Cafe Fresco.  I wish I had gone to La Masseria instead.

Before I get into the food, I have to say that our waitress was very nice.  She made sure we were comfortable and very attentive.  Unfortunately, great service will not get me back into Cafe Fresco.  All of the food (with the exception of dessert) was extremely salty!!  I drank so much water.  Soup and entree bordered on inedible.  Had some tiramisu for dessert and it was so sugary, I could actually crunch on sugar crystals.

The waitress was kind enough to lower the bill for us.  However, I still won't come back until the kitchen can use a salt shaker properly.  Salting food seasons it...I should still taste the food.  I will not be coming back.

I had been to Fresco a few times since it opened several years ago and had found that while the food was pretty good, it was always too dark and crowded.  I decided to give it another shot last night, especially since they now have on-line reservations.

Since it was so cold last night, I wasn't surprised that it wasn't too crowded when we arrived for our 6:30 reservation.  Also, I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had lightened up the place with a lighter paint scheme and slightly brighter lighting.  I wasn't too happy when we were seated at a two-top jammed up against another two-top, whose occupants didn't seem to notice us trying to wedge ourselves into our seats (and the "gentleman" was pushed far out from his table).  I've never been one to make a stink about where I've been seated, unless we're so close to the bathroom that we can smell it or something, so we pulled our table back a bit and made do.

Anyway, on to the food.  The menu had been changed since the last time I had gone there, and there were plenty of things that I wanted to try.  Additionally, our server, who was professional and pleasant throughout the evening, recited an extensive list of specials.  We ordered the fried artichoke hearts special appetizer (good, but not awesome; something that I liked, but I would want to try something else next time), my fiancee had the seafood risotto, which she loved, and I had a scallops special, which I thought was also quite tasty.  We split the bread pudding dessert, which was yummy.  My fiancee also tried a couple of different martinis from their drink list and said they were strong and delicious.

Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience at Fresco.  I wish they would space the smaller tables out a little more, but I understand their desire to pack 'em in.  We will definitely return to try other items on their menu.

I really like it here. The appetizers alone are enought to satisfy one's hunger for delicousness.

We really enjoyed the grilled pizza. and these eggplant things...yummy. And the bread and olive oil concoction was amazing!

The seafood chowder was trying a bit too hard...you know pretending like it wasn't even trying. It was a clear broth with a small chunk of white fish, a whole clam, a whole mussel and a piece of shrimp. Really no flavor whatsover but I forgave the chef because everything else was sooooooooooooo good!!

The cocktails by the way are extremely generous!

Great food - service is always top notch too...can get crowded on Thursday-Saturday, but if you don't mind eating a bit later, show up after the crowds die down (after 8:30)...

    Great sirloin bruschetta...mmmm...

Really please with the quality of food and service. Large portions, servers were attentive but not overbearing. we had great martinis: the Marliyn Monroe and their Cucumber -gin martini....really excellent. I'd even recommend going there for drinks if you're in the area.
We had the swordfish special (not Italian but delicous) and the scallops over angel hair. I was pleasantly surprised and will be returning.

If it were solely based on the food, Cafe Fresco would get 5 stars from me.  The food here is absolutely awesome!  The service is unfortunately guard rail to guard rail.  So cross your fingers you get the good side of the road!
I've never had a bad meal here and the Pesto Encrusted Roast Pork Tenderloin is by far my favorite thing on the menu.  One time they were offering a special on Lamb Lollipops which were insanely good...so if they happen to have it when you're there (and you like lamb) get it.
One last thing - The bar here is a really cool place to get drinks and a meal.  It's comfortable, the lighting is cool and the music is generally good.
Overall, definitely check this place out.

Anything you order at this place, you'll love! Their calamari appetizer is delicious! It's a very unique flavor (asian) but great. I've had both chicken and pasta dishes. I think their specialty is pasta but their chicken was very good as well. The only issue i've had is that they always have TONS of specials so their waiters have to tell you this LONG list of foods (it is impressive that they memorize tho).

0 stars. I brought 12+ people for a staff party and received the worst service I had ever received in my life! The owner was rude and that trickles down to the staff that took pleasure in delivering a terrible evening. It was terrible, I will never be back and hope no one else has to experience the terrible treatment I received.

Don't hold the one star review from a Yelpie that hasn't posted more than ten reviews in two *freaking* years against Cafe Fresco.  Steak and Seafood is what my peer (and BTW his foodie wife who is a trained chef) said I could *not* go wrong with...good news is they were right!  Reading past reviews it seems as if the specials are where the menu shines.  I had the Surf and Turf special tonight and I must say the fillet totally rocked!!! I'm *so* picky on how the meat is aged and cooked that I almost never order steak when I'm dining out, however, well done Cafe Fresco!  Also, another peer ordered the Veal Chop and it too was out of this world! Rarely do you *ever* get veal that is tender and cooked properly these days, yet, Cafe Fresco nailed it!  In addition, all the seafood appetizers we ordered were cooked perfectly and depending on your taste profile you'll either be wowed or just satisfied.  The service was very attentive and I have to agree the restaurant was pretty dimly lit, however, if you're on a date then just say "that's amore!"

My wife and I ate here last night.  Food was just ok, nothing special.  Given the mediocre quality, we decided we won't return.
