I wonder if after 100 reviews there is any point in continuing to review a location.  I mean, everyone else said it was amazing, why do you need one more person telling you so?  I've never had a bad dish here!  Delicious vegan options, a must-try for all vegetarians.

Good:
-everything
-particularly sitting in the garden/fountain/plant area (atrium)

Bad:
-the wait on weekends sometimes.  (avoid Mother's Day like the plague)

Cafe Flora is a fine choice for dining in the Madison Park area. As a usual meat-eater (when I'm walking down the street, people take their pets inside just in case), I'd always considered fine vegetarian dining a bit of an oxymoron. However, at Cafe Flora I didn't even notice the difference.

Met a friend here for lunch and first off, the atmosphere is well done. The floors are mostly stone with wood as the basic interior design theme. There are a vast number of tall plants which gives the impression of walking through a arboretum. It's sort of like having lunch in a quiet outdoor gazebo.

As for the food, I tried the oaxaca tacos which were wonderful; like their namesake it's a revolution in your mouth! There are blended cheeses (or what tasted like cheese, maybe it's best that I don't actually know), that were of perfect texture that made these a delicacy. My friend had the soup of the day, which was a type of bean soup that was deemed to be equally enchanting. And we couldn't help noticing the full bar directly to the side of us.....

their happy hour ends at 6pm. they have a house cocktail that is $5 and today i had this cocktail called Big Ben with lemon, gin, and egg white. It was amazing!

i really can't say anything negative about this place. I LOVE IT! i love the ambiance. sitting in the gazebo looking area with the water trickling in their fountain just takes me miles away from all the stress in my life.

the service is awesome and i always feel like there is no rush in here. i also make sure to go during the week to avoid the crowd.

get the yam fries! they also have gluten-free options and gluten-free pizza.

i made the mistake and good fortune of asking what they had for dessert. then he brought out the dessert tray. that's right, dessert tray! i couldn't resist.

One of my favorite spots to eat is in the Garden Atrium at Cafe Flora. It has such a serene beautiful atmosphere. (Except when some oblivious parent is letting their too-young-to-know-better toddler swim in the fountain and run around like like a manic dripping water everywhere. But....I digress.)

Last time I was there it was for lunch. We had the Oaxaca tacos and a Mushroom Po' Boy. Both were yummy and very satisfying. Its a little on the pricey side but its worth it for the ambiance as well as being able to choose from a wide variety of vegetarian options.

Cafe Flora on Madison was a great place to meet my dad for brunch. On a Sunday- at 11:30- the wait was about 20 minutes. We were seated in a patio of sorts by a indoor pool... it felt like I was in a clean version of a garden store. My dad ordered a chorizo hash with black beans, vegetables, tortillas, and poached eggs with a side of spiced tofu (he had never had it and was curious).  I ordered a grilled heirloom tomato scramble with fresh white corn and dill with cojita cheese on top- it came with grilled potatoes and a thin slice of blueberry bread.

Both dishes were flavored extremely well, and my dad kept raving to the server and myself. The food was also fresh and not heavy. This place (vegetarian) was an awesome find. My father commented on the restaurant characteristics and other menus(l/d) when we were leaving and I realized he thought he had real chorizo instead of fake and I had to tell him... he was in awe... and talked about the place on Facebook today because he loved it so much. I guess there is a very accurate reason why the place has been in Seattle with raves 10 years+.

We had fun conversation at Cafe Flora- with many many coffee pours offered- and much talk while our kind server participated in our conversation every once in a while. Cafe Flora and it's staff created a great atmosphere.

FYI's~
* Lots of traditional menu items with a slight twist to make then vegetarian
* Most meals on the breakfast menu were also available Vegan and Gluten Free
* Their coffee is Fair Trade and Organic
* Portions are hearty but not out of control
* Most breakfast prices were under $10

I went to brunch with two of my girlfriends here, and it was pretty great.

The service was decent, but a little awkward.  I can't really explain, but our server was just...  Just a little awkward.  Not bad or anything...  Just, yeah. Awkward.

The decor is great--I was expecting a tiny little place, but it's really more of a restaurant than a cafe.  We sat in the room with the fountain and the big skylight.  It was very pleasant, pretty, and not all that crowded.  (There were a lot of people, but the tables were spread out enough that it didn't seem like it.)

The food was pretty good.  It wasn't completely and utterly amazing, but it was very tasty.  We split beignets (which came with some sort of berry syrup on them; very tasty), the breakfast quesadilla (VERY good) and the heirloom tomato scramble (good, I guess, but not as good as the quesadilla--just not as flavorful).  The cheesy grits were good, and the muffin bread was a little stale.  (We did go a little late into brunch, though.  It probably would have been better if we'd gone earlier.)

We had originally wanted to get the quiche instead of the scramble, but they had run out (we tried to order it at probably 1:15 pm).

I also got an earl grey tea, which was pretty nice but kind of expensive ($4 for a small pot--maybe 3 small cups worth).

I enjoyed having so many vegetarian options, as well.  That was really nice.

So, in all, really nice atmosphere, and pretty yummy food.  A tiny bit spendy, but worth it on occasion.  I'll definitely be going back.

I ......love cafe flora. I love the food, I love the atmosphere and I love the neighborhood (for the most part).

Let me just say that I am a little biased in my opinion here because I have a strong emotional attachment to this place, I grew up eating here a lot, so I may tend to brush over any negatives I might actually think of. (Which is ....none, but still, a forewarning!)

SO. This place is home to some really delicious stuff. I mostly come for the breakfast, but the food here is good anytime of the day. Best french toast on the planet. I've experienced the Cranberry-Chai and Mango-Coconut varieties in the past few seasons.

The only issue I have w/this place is the wait on weekends. Word to the wise: No reservations, so even if you call ahead on weekends, expect to wait!

The dinner menu is great as well; definitely try the Oaxaca tacos, and the smoked mushroom French Dip is to DIE for!!!!!

Take advantage of the seasonal menu; it's really a great showcase of PNW food. The drink menu is great too.

All in all, this is a contender for my favorite restaurant in Seattle! BUY THE COOKBOOK! I can now make a good portion of their menu at home, so I can experience Cafe Flora even here in Los Angeles!

Insider tip: get here RIGHT when they open--Cafe Flora is so beautiful and serene when you're the only person in the restaurant, and it's a really great experience!

Three of us went for Sunday brunch.  We had high expectations and the food was good.  We arrived at around 9:30 AM  and requested atrium seating.  There was no wait and we were placed at a street front open window.  We needed to close the window a bit because of the morning breeze.  However, this was very refreshing and the atrium was an excellent choice because of the spacing and waterfall that white-noised out the other conversations.

However, the experience was not flawless.  Service was the issue.  First, after literally pointing to the item that I wanted and the waiter confirming the pronounciation of "chorizo", the wrong dish was delivered to our table.  The other guests received the correct orders and proceeded.  After being assured that my brunch was fast tracked "on a rail", I didn't see it until those with me had completed about half their meal.  Next, a simple request for salt went unheeded until after my meal arrived.  The request was made very early in the meal.  With the additional of several smaller slip-ups the service was deemed a 2 out of 5.  For us, that is very poor.

Food wise, Cafe Flora is excellent (when the bring it right thing, let it go).  We split an order of Beignets (there were 3 so it was perfect).  These were an excellent choice.  The meal choices are listed below with how each guest rated them.

Chorizo - potato hash and eggs 3 out 5
Heirloom tomato summer scramble - 3.5 out of 5
Grilled mushroom and spinach scramble - 3.5 out of 5

The second two meals had excellent presentation and the flavor variety was perfect.  The hash and eggs was good flavor but nothing very special after that.

A surprise hit was the Black Satin tea. It was Assam blended with cocoa bits, spearmint, dark chocolate and vanilla essence. We experiemented with leaving the tea steep throughout the meal.  One of us did and another removed the basket after about 5 minutes.  Removal is a good choice.  Allowing the basket to remain longer made the tea have a bitter after-taste.  This tea is an excellent coffee alternative for brunch.

We will try Cafe Flora again to make sure that this particular Sunday brunch experience was a one-off.  More later.

Hmmm. Not nearly as awesome as I remember it.

We went to escape the 102° heat and gets some lighter fare. The dining room turned out to be crowded (long wait) and not all that cool. Oh well.

On to the food. The starters were great as usual: cold soba noodle w/ seaweed salad, and fried avacado. Yum.

The pizzas we got, however, were just not all there. The crust was great, but the flavors didn't really come together.  One had heirloom tomato over pesto and corn. The tomato was good... but, not much else. The other was ratatouille pizza, which had good moments, but the goat cheese in the middle didn't really match.

Oh well, next time I'll make sure we just order all starters!

Just got back from a 3-hour dinner at Cafe Flora, and it was the best meal that I've had in a while. Everything about the meal was well-executed and solid.

For drinks, we got the combo (cranberry-ginger with lavender lemonade) and the ginger brew. The combo was delightfully refreshing even if there was a little too much going on, and the ginger brew came with a big slice of fresh ginger that smelt amazing. I love ginger and I want my ginger-flavored drinks to kick me in the face, and the ginger brew was the closest thing that I've found at a restaurant to getting there.

We then had the watermelon gazpacho and yam fries. The gazpacho was nice to have on a hot day, and I liked the jicama in it. The yam fries were perhaps the best yam fries I've had; the cayenne aioli that accompanied them really put the fries over the edge. They also came in a bucket, which was awesome and truthful to their name on the menu.

As mains, we got the oaxaca tacos and sweet corn and heirloom tomato pizza. I liked the kick of the pico de gallo that came with the tacos, and I was surprised how well mashed potatoes work in tacos. The pizza was similarly delicious with incredibly sweet corn and great tomatoes.

After all of this food, we hardly had room for dessert, but the flourless chocolate spice cake on cocoa nib brittle with chartreuse cream and honey wildflower caramel looked so appealing that we couldn't pass it up. Everything about the dessert worked, and it all went together so well. It was remarkably light yet creamy and rich.

For $30-something per person, I would definitely head back to Cafe Flora in a heartbeat. Every aspect of the meal was incredibly solid, and all things together made it one of the best meals I've had in Seattle.

I left my heart at Cafe Flora! This short review does not encompass the depth and breadth of my love.

After the first time my sweetheart and I ate here on our recent holiday in Seattle, every time the question of where to eat came up, my answer was: Cafe Flooooooooooora. With the exact sort of singsong delivery you might imagine. The only meal we didn't ever have here was breakfast, and they're not open for it.

The restaurant itself is lovely - the garden atrium is so pretty, calming and spacious. They could easily cram more seating in, but I love that they haven't. The waitstaff was unfailingly sweet and not overly hovery.

Everything that we had was tasty, fresh, and well-prepared. I especially recommend the lentil-pecan pâté, and "Oaxaca Tacos" is really fun to say five times fast. My omnivorous sweetheart even bought me a copy of their cookbook on our way out!

"Would you like to sit inside or in the arboretum?" ARBORETUM!!!! I have never had this question posed to me in regards to my eating location, and it was just beautiful. The food was delicious and unique, and I have to say I thought the service was amazing. Anywhere that pours my water from a glass vas is okay in my book. We had fried avocado with some kind of chipotle/mayo (veganaise?) dipping sauce and cabbage as an appetizer, and for my main course I had the sweet corn and heirloom tomato pizza. When paired with the rhubarb 'dry' soda, the experience was purely magical. My counterparts ordered, respectively, the polenta (with deliciously undercooked green beans and balsamic-marinated cherries) and the black bean burger, which was smokey and delicious. Mmmm! I hope the less-fortunate man to whom I gave my leftovers appreciated them as much as I did.

Creative vegetarian food is what they claim as their mission. And its true. At times a miss in the flavor department, at times too long a wait for table or for food. But its food done with love and I think the effort wins out.

I love fresh veggies all mixed up, but the seasonal rocket salad didn't have the right combinations. Peppery arugula fluffed with fresh feta and red pepper vinaigrette. Spicy, yet smooth. Then they threw it on top of a few pencil-thin sticks of roast asparagus and a pile of vinegary, limp cucumber. Separate, would have been fine. But together the char and the tang didn't vibe with salad element.

The French dip was a poppyseed, anise, and sesame baguette layered with sautéed portobellos, gooey cheese, and thinly sliced onions. Good flavors and a great dipping au jus.

The winner was fried avocado with a spicy aoli and island-fruit chutney. Half an avocado sliced up and fried in a delectable cornmeal crust. Fanned out over deep purple cabbage and a gleaming mound of sliced papaya and chile chutney. Their cayenne dipping sauce was firey, perfect for the smooth avocado and fresh crunch of the cornmeal.

The food is good, especially seasonal offerings.  The ambiance is great.  The prices are expensive for my budget.  I like Cafe Flora...it's a nice place to take guests from out of town.  I just can't afford to go there regularly.  And sometimes I leave hungry because the portions are small but I don't want to throw down another $10 for more food.

I've been here several times now, and honestly I think it's just ok. The service is fine, but the food is hit or miss with me.

The most recent trip was during the heat wave in Seattle. We called ahead to see if they had air conditioning. They said yes, so we headed on down. Apparently, everyone else did too so there was quite a wait. It did feel cool near the entrance, but when we finally got seated (near the bathrooms) the air was hot and stagnant. That was unfortunate, but really I can't knock them for this. It was hot everywhere. So I'm reviewing based on the food, and the food was very so-so.

We ordered a fried avocado appetizer which was too encrusted and too fried (i know it almost seems sacrilegious to say it). You couldn't even taste that it was avocado. Their coconut tofu appetizer is much better. We also ordered two of their special pizzas. But both really lacked flavor or excitement.

I think my fav place like this is Carmelita up in Phinney Ridge. What they do with cheese is somethin' worth singing about. I think Cafe Flora could take notes from them. I dunno, maybe Cafe Flora just isn't my cuppa.

Cozy place to enjoy a sunny, crisp and chilly Sunday morning breakfast.
Great latte (cost extra if you add flavors).
Great seasonal food: Fall Forage Omelet.
Portions are just right for our small stomach. I don't mind the price, as long as we can enjoy to the last morsel.
Nice seating in the airy conservatory-like structure.
What more can we ask for a start of Sunday in Seattle?

wow. this places seems very overrated. My sister and I ordered the Oaxaca tacos as takeout for lunch.  We ordered the "full" order which ended up being 2 very small tacos (for $15).  The condiments were on the side.  I am glad they came with because if were not for those, they would be almost inedible. They were very bland and overpriced.
I still want to try this place again because all of the other reviews are fantastic.

Since it's pretty much right next door, I had to try Cafe Flora. First off, the place is beautiful. My gf and I were seated at the "romantic" table, mostly by luck, next to the fountain in the covered patio section. The waiter was an affable, knowledgeable guy, and service was quick and generally unobtrusive. I had a pretty tasty "ginger brew." I was expecting something closer to ginger beer (for those not in the know, ginger beer is a super gingery soda), but it was good for what it was.

The food was above average, that's for sure. Portions are a tad on the small side. I had a soba noodle salad, which was as good as a cold noodle plate can be. My gf's quesadillas were interesting. Being a Houston transplant, I have to say tha their quesadillas were hardly quesadillas in the traditional sense. But, they were pretty good, if a little busy (in a good way). We didn't really feel like having dessert, so I can't comment on that.

The major downside is the cost. Dishes are easily in the $15 range, drinks were $4 each, and the appetizers were maybe $9 each. I'm not entirely sure it's worth it, but I think I'd really like to try brunch here, or at least try some of the other stuff on the menu. So I think it deserves 5 stars for doing what it does well enough.

I was taken to this place on a date, so I went into it knowing nothing. It ended up being really really good. For starters, we tried the fried avocados and grilled peaches. The avocados were AMAZING. I highly recommended them. The peaches were extremely ripe and juicy, but I'm not too big of a peach fan, so I didn't like them as much as the avocado.

The menu is very interesting and has lots of combinations I had never heard of/thought of before (mashed potato tacos?). There are tons of options for gluten-free which is nice, and of course everything there is either vegetarian or vegan. There were lots of interesting sodas that you could order--my date had a ginger soda that was surprisingly good.

I thought that the service was just mid-range. Our waitress seemed a little awkward and confused. The decor was very nice. You can look out onto Madison and the entire place is very open, with lots of windows and light streaming in.

Overall I had a great time there and would highly recommend it to anyone.

A few years back I saw Cafe Flora featured on the Food Network show "Roker On The Road". Their vegan desserts were the topic of the show. Desserts? I'm totally in. And its a vegetarian place which appealed to me even more when I became a vegetarian myself. I always told myself I need to go yet never even tried to make the effort. For this year's Dining Out For Life, I found Cafe Flora on the list of participating restaurants. I must go. With my madre and hermana in tow, we went to Café Flora.

The host greeted us with a Titanic sized smile. After informing him there would be three of us he gladly directed us to a table. Café Flora is quite the serene green space. Its spacious and airy making you feel as if you are in a greenhouse. The windows are enormous and plants line the windowsill. The floors are concrete and the furniture is all wood. There seemed to be a few rooms which you could dine in and we were seated near the bar.

We took our seats and the host passed out menus. I had taken a peak at Café Flora's website and found a rather interesting entrée: Oaxacan Tacos. They were filled with potatoes and served with black beans. I found them and instantly knew what I wanted. I browsed along the appetizers and found Coconut Tofu. I want that too! My mom decided to try a salad, my sister the same. Our waitress came back and explained to us the new Spring menu. I'm sure a few days ago she was incredibly excited about the menu change but having to relay the speech again and again it grew monotonous. Her tone was at one pitch and there were even moments her eyes closed. She's not going to fall asleep on us is she?

We ordered our meals with the addition of a quesadilla and patiently waited and waited some more. Our first round of food was three slices of bread and a cup of olive oil. Then the second round consisted of the Coconut Tofu and the quesadilla. The waitress suggested we cut the tofu and soak it in the sauce first to prevent sauce from running down our arms. Good to know. We wrapped our tofu in lettuce leaves and dipped it in the sauce. Very tasty. The coconut wasn't overpowering and the sauce was similar to the chili pepper carrot sauce that often accompanies spring rolls. The quesadillas were filled with sweet potatoes which I am typically not a fan of but enjoyed them in this fashion.

Our main entrees came. My Oaxacan Tacos looked splendid. The tacos filled with potatoes sat atop black beans with feta cheese, my favorite cheese in the world, sprinkled all over. My sister's salad was spinach and asparagus and my mom's salad was the kicker. Her noodles looked like worms and there was a line-up of not your everyday foods such as chunks of ginger, a pickled purple mass, and funny looking mushrooms. I felt like a child as I giggled at her unique dish. I did try the noodles although they were cold they tasted like peanuts. Not bad. My tacos were crunchy and the black beans were suitable. I must say it was a slightly awkward eating mashed potatoes wrapped in a baked tortilla. My mom and sister both agreed their meals were enjoyable.

After devouring our food, we agreed dessert had to follow. Our waitress came by with a tray of six desserts and explained what each one was. All I saw was chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. I am in heaven. I order a vegan chocolate cake with an avocado mint filling, my sister gets a cappuccino cake with ganuche, and we pressure my mom into ordering the lemon tart with hibiscus cream.

Here come the desserts! My cake was an impressive size. I dig in and if I wasn't told it was vegan, I would have thought it was a full dairy cake. It was incredible. I know that some may be suspicious of avocado being used in a dessert but it blended so well together with the mint, it mainly tasted like mint leaves and chocolate. My sister loved her cake and I tried some of my mom's lemon tart and fell in love. I can't overlook the hibiscus cream which was sweet and just luscious.

During our meal we saw the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. I didn't think the patrons of Café Flora were in their demographic for handing out condoms and lube. But they were there to promote Dining Our For Life and were grateful to find out our reason for being there was to help the cause. A few school buses with "North Kitsap" on the side parked alongside Café Flora. Through the windows these young girls saw the Sisters and freaked out. You're certainly not in North Kitsap anymore, children.

After completing dessert our bellies were full and round. Our bill followed and I was surprised at the amount. I was expected it to be much higher.

I enjoyed my time at Café Flora. The ambiance was excellent, the waitstaff friendly, and the food was yummy. I will certainly be back once again. I want to try more desserts.

Cafe Flora is now my official special occasion restaurant in my neighborhood after a (literally) near death experience with having been served fish at another restaurant in town (you can read my allergy list on Yelp for that).

The cake here is amazing. For real. For a vegan chocolate cake sitting on top of a red raspberry sauce, it's the best thing I've had cake-wise in years! I literally had one of those tears-in-the-eyes-salivating experiences since I never really get to enjoy cake too often since I'm lactose intolerant.

If no one's ever spoken to you about the deep fried avocado appetizer here, TRY IT. It's seriously tasty and you'll wonder how you've actually managed to get by without having tried the crunchy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside avocados that come with 2 dipping sauces (also very yummy!).

Cafe Flora is just amazing, because they are very well aware of people who have allergies or eat by a certain diet (vegan, vegetarian, etc.). It's restaurants like these that make it worthwhile for me to go out and actually enjoy myself without having to worry about a server accidentally serving me seafood because the servers here are all aware of common allergens and it even says so in the menu!

I really enjoyed my second attempt at my 5th anniversary dinner here with my boyfriend, because the first restaurant we went to almost killed me by serving me fish even though I told them of my allergies.

With that, I highly recommend Cafe Flora for folks like myself who have severe allergies and food intolerances - they know their menu and ingredients!

Sitting in the atrium of Café Flora, I was next to a bubbling fountain, sipping pinot noir and feeling very zen.  It was the perfect setting for the next few hours of meditation on food.

Flora has wonderful vegetarian options, including some gluten free ones as well. I opted for the grilled veggie pizza with gluten-free crust. Sometimes gluten free can also mean taste free, but this crust was just right - full of crisp and subtle flavor. The grilled veggies were great, but I would have liked more and/ or bigger chunks.

The server was helpful but not hurried. Portions are average to generous, so I had enough pizza to take home for lunch the next day. Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is lovely, especially in the atrium. I'll be back for another meditation session soon.

Cafe Flora is soooo delicious! I a big fan of their breakfast. My favorite is the vegan tofu scramble!  Cafe Flora is where i go when i want a healthy breakfast. Sundays do get pretty crowded but it is worth the wait. I  also love that they  have a ton of art on the wall from local artisits.

I've been there twice for dinner and both times were delicious!  The first time was back in June and the second was just the other night.  Yam fries are yummy with the cayenne aioli!  We thought we'd go out on a limb and try the fried avocados, which were kind of weird but also delish!  I only wished there were more!  I ordered the black bean burger which was small, but filling.  The bf ordered a squash something or other (not the same dish on the current online dinner menu) and thought it was pretty darn amazing.  Really can't think of anything bad, except for the fact that the dishes are so filling you have to go back again and again to try everything you want!

Love! I want to start by saying that I am not a vegetarian but am so so in love with this restaurant.  I usually think that a dish is not a complete meal without meat in it. I'm a protein freak and feel like I won't get my fill from vegetarian options.

That being said, I came here with my friend and tried the smashed pea croquettes with veggies and sweet potatoes and it was so delicious and satisfying.  I also tried a bite of my friend's apple and stilton pizza and it was heaven in my mouth.

The setting is like sitting in an enclosed garden patio, so lovely.  I want to come back for brunch because it looks fabulous.  I am also allergic to dairy and eggs so all of the vegan options were so nice! No worrying.  Have the vegan chocolate cake, it will make you orgasm in your mouth. Explicit, but come on, who doesn't want that?

My recent visit gave me a terrific vibe.
All of the over sized slider windows were opened on a perfect Seattle day.
This airy atmosphere, with the garden like setting made it the right place to be.
Service was superb, our waitress and her support team were on top of everything, extremely pleasant, but not over bearing.
I had the Oaxacan taco's that were delicious - flavorful chard as a side dish, black beans with a refreshing salsa, crispy corn tortilla's with a wonderful blend of mash potatoes. Not sure what I was expecting, but I had no idea it would be that good - great complimentary tastes.
I'm not a frequent diner of vegetarian restaurants, but Cafe Flora is a real stand out.
This was our second time here and we'll certainly be back.
Thanks Cafe Flora!

Some friends took me here for brunch - loved it!  We had the apple cinnamon rolls - not too sweet and not too mushy.  Can hardly believe they were vegan!  I had the Hoppin John Fritters - savory black eyed pea cakes, spicy cayenne aioli, roasted red pepper & corn relish, smoked mushroom collard greens and roasted potatoes.  Spicy and yummy!  If you go on a weekend, there is usually and line - the three of us waited 30 mins and service was a bit slow too on account of the place being super duper busy.  Really pleased with the food though and will be back!

A good friend took my wife and I here for a Sunday brunch and I was definitely impressed.  It reminded me a bit of Food Dance Cafe in my hometown of Kalamazoo, MI.  The decor was gorgeous; I felt like I was eating brunch in a spa.  I ordered the Hoppin' John Fritters (black eyed pea cakes, collard greens and grits - all vegetarian) and it was excellent.  I tried a friend's tofu scramble and it was also amazing.  The fresh squeezed grapefruit juice was some of the best I've ever had.  Two thumbs up.  If I lived there, I'd be there often.

I've had good meals here before but last night was a clunker.  It started off with yam fries which were a bit too limp and soggy.  But the entree dish, linguini with mushrooms was a real disappointment.  The pasta was overcooked and mushy and the mushrooms which should have been soft and tender were hard as a rock. My dessert a berry crumble was warm and satisfying.

I love Cafe Flora! As a vegetarian, I am not used to being able order anything from the menu. so theirs often overwhelms me (in a VERY good way). Not only is their food creative and delicious, but they have a great variety of food. Their desserts are pretty amazing as well. Another great feature is that their staff really know the food and can tell you every detail, from if it is gluten free to where the ingredients come from.

Also, for meat eaters that are apprehensive, my mother from Oklahoma (a BIG meat eater) has loved eating here. She was not too excited the first time she went, but said that she has loved everything she tried. She was actually excited to go back after her first try.

Also, the cookbook is great. It makes you appreciate the place even more, because the recipes are COMPLICATED!  :)

This great Madison Park restaurant is a fabuous place to eat.  lI ike to take clients here for lunch and my family here for Sunday brunch. The food is all made in- house, so it tastes great   My favorit is the Oaxaca tacos.  A bit on the pricey side, but well worth it!

Went for Saturday brunch to treat my girlfriend.

The hostess was a snob, the waiter was cool and the food was yummy.

Our table was wobbly and we spent the entire time in between a couple feeding each other (ICK) and an older woman who had a MAJOR staring problem (where they look you up and down and can't seem to realize after God many years on this planet that it's rude to stare!).

Probably won't go back again just because of the experience, not because of the food.

Went back for dinner and had a great experience.  Our server was incredible and the meal was great.  It was summer time and my favorite items were back on the menu (Polenta) and for dessert PB&J cake WOW!! Non of the former servers I mentioned in past reviews were there (except for the bus-person who wears skirts so short dinner is like dinner AND a show) so I am wondering if they turned over the staff.  We also split a fried avocado app that was OOTW!  Place gets 3 stars this time only because of the inconsistency of experience.  OH!  I forgot to mention, I think they hired a new bartender as the high-school science project drink menu was changed and the offerings are more in-line with an adult bar.

Great veggie comfort food with vegan options.

You can bring anyone but the most closed-minded carnivore here for a weekend brunch, lunch or dinner. Do call ahead to get your name on the list or expect a bit of a wait if you come at prime time though.

Five stars for service that has been AWESOME lately, Fall Forager's scramble, organic wine and they just started serving Remedy Teas!!

Plus, my sausage-loving dad ordered the vegetarian Biscuits and Gravy and--shockingly--loved it!!!

Stopped in after a walk through the arboretum on a weekend morning.  I just had oatmeal (not very exciting, I know) and coffee.  I'll definitely head back and try a more interesting meal so I can give a more detailed review.

My one qualm is the decor.  I couldn't help feeling like I was in a Perkins (Midwestern family restaurant for you West Coasters).  It's pretty bland.

A friend introduced me to this place since I am new in town. i love vegan and vegetarian food although I am neither, I will def be coming back. Had a simple lunch of the vegetarian ceasar salad, and carrot ginger jalapeno soup. To drink i got the "combo" recommended by my friend, with was a wonderful concoction of lemonade and cranberry ginger. So good on a semi-hot day. Sit in the atrium, glass walls and ceiling make the place perfect for breakfast and lunch.. despite the cities typically rainy weather.

The food here was awesome. We had the vegetarian french dip.
The service was beyond poor. We were seated and ordered coffee. 15 minutes later, no coffee. (And I am not exaggerating. I am prone to, but this time, I am not.) The waitress was clearly overwhelmed with an 8 top, which I totally get, but 15 minutes? We finally asked the bus girl if she could get our coffee...she did. Then we ordered our food. Another 25 minutes later we had that too. It is odd to think that something as simple as beverage service can alter a whole experience, but this time, it actually did.
