Best meal of the day? - Breakfast.  How on earth can you make it better?? Make breakfast into a chocolate feast is how!

The Saturday morning Chocolate Bar at Cafe Fleuri is amazing - I am a choco-addict, the BF's sweet tooth is a few and far between craving.  However, the chocolate bar had just about anything you could think of; all separated into chocolate type (dark, semi, milk, white, crepes, fountain, ice cream, and even vegan).  The house made hot chocolate was sooo good; if they served churros it would have been just like the Chocolateria San Gines in Madrid - thick, a hint of spice and so, so, sooo yummy.

Would I go back - oh most definitely, but I think it would be the death of me more than once a year ;)

I went there for the brunch and it was AMAZING.
Fine desserts were the big hit for us but they have omelets, crepes and seafood stations.
Nice place and very intimate place where you can take a date or a family and you will have a great time.
They had a jazz band on hand and made it very nice too.
    Will be going again.

While a hotel buffet normally would not be my scene, for a graduation brunch with a big family, Cafe Fleuri was perfect.

Buffet sushi (buffet food in general) scares the hell out of me, but here it was fresh and simply delicious.  Same goes for just about everything served.  I've never before been impressed by buffet food, but Cafe Fleuri genuinely surprised me.

Also, it takes a certain skill within the hospitality industry to maintain a high level of class and sophistication, and at the same time cater a chocolate fountain to small children.  Somehow the staff at Cafe Fleuri managed to do that.  Props to them all.

It's definitely a pricey excursion, but for those special occasions with a large group (especially those with discerning members), Cafe Fleuri is a great choice.

I am not sure what to say, it was a friggen Chocolate Buffet.  This is a once in a life time thing.  Meaning, you should do it at least once, but probably not more than once.  It was really amazing and the product was creative, well executed and very good.  That is not to say I liked everything, but when you have 300 things to choose from, you are not going to like it all.

It is a bit on the expensive side, especially if you are paying for a group.  But like I said, once in a life time and something to put in your memory book.

Went to Cafe Fleuri for a restaurant week lunch and this little hidden gem inside the Langham Hotel exceeded all of my expectations. I have worked across the street from here for a few years and never walked in. I guess that is because it is a little more intimidating than your standard takeout or bar food you find in the area. This is definitely a place were you would have a client lunch or a business meeting. I had:

Pan Roasted Mushrooms w/ White Cornmeal "Hasty Pudding" and Madeira - This was a really interesting dish, the mushrooms were fantastic, and they were on top of a white corn sponge cake. Surprisingly the combination really worked

Lobster Macaroni & Cheese - A lot of places try and do this dish well, and they do a great job here. The portion was perfect, no one wants to be in a food coma after lunch. The chunks of lobster were very flavorful

Milk Chocolate and Coconut Sorbet Almond Tuile - I chose this one not because it was my favorite option but because it was the healthy choice. That being said I still found it pretty good for a healthier choice.

I've been to Cafe Fleuri before... pre-Yelp.

Site of the Chocolate Bar (glad I've done it once, but probably never again as it is too rich for my wallet and my taste - I'm more of a fruity/creamy sort of gal than a chocoholic... AND I hear it is now $40 a head... yikes!), and of a summer restaurant week meal that included soft shell crab (mmmmm).

I was back for Winter Restaurant Week 2012.  The restaurant was pretty packed during our lunchtime visit, but not every party was there to partake of the RW menu.

For appetizers, we had the Wild Arugula, Vermont Gorgonzola and Roasted Red Pear Salad, Spiced Pecans and Honey Balsamic Dressing and the Pan Roasted Mushrooms, White Cornmeal "Hasty Pudding" and Madeira.  Even as a non-mushroom lover (actually I tend to avoid the fungus), even I would vote the latter the winner.  The salad was fresh and refreshing, but the mushroom and cornmeal dish was warming and something special.

For entrees, we ordered the North Star Farm Lamb Shepherd's Pie, Winter Vegetables and Potato Crust and the Lobster "Macaroni and Cheese", Buttery Cracker Crust, Amontillados Sherry and Organic Tomatoes.  Each arrived in a small dish (whether cast iron or porcelain), so the portion looked quite small.  But we were here for 3 courses, and I most definitely left stuffed.  A good amount of little lobster bits nestled among the huge shells of macaroni.  There was hardly any excess cheese sauce at the bottom of the dish, but it also wasn't too dry.  The shepherd's pie wasn't self-evident as lamb - perhaps if they had served the meat as cubed rather than as ground, it would have made a larger impact on my taste buds.

The Tahitian Vanilla Crème Brulee, Pistachio Biscotti and Berries was simple and creamy, with a sugar crust that made no attempt to resist the blunt force of the spoon.  The Sticky Toffee Pudding, Vanilla Ice Cream, Booker's Bourbon Caramel and Spiced Walnuts was small but rich and satisfying.

We all know someone who would eat dessert for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Wait for their birthday/anniversary/promotion/whatever, then bring them here. I promise they will love you forever. And if you're the one who'd be happy living on chocolate, I suggest hitting up Cafe Fleuri this Saturday. No special occasion necessary.

It's important to know what you're getting into when you come here. Besides the crepe station and some hints of fruit, you're not getting breakfast -- you're getting dessert. Lots and lots of dessert.

Walking up to the second floor of the Langham hotel (don't get in the elevator, just walk through the lobby to the staircase) I didn't really know what to expect. I had read a lot about it but was still stunned to say the least. We arrived to a huge, sunny room with high ceilings and tables covered in white linens. Very classy. We were sat and told to head on into the all-you-can eat chocolate buffet. Hoooly chocolate. We had an 11 o'clock reservation (the earliest you can make) so everything was perfectly in place. There were tables upon tables filled with beautifully crafted desserts.

We decided to take a lap first to scope out the goods but only made it halfway before picking up plates and diving in for round 1. The chocolate bar has everything you'd expect (cookies, blondies, cupcakes) and some things you wouldn't (banana tart topped with bacon, guerrier chocolate pastry, cotton candy machine!). I probably tried 20+ desserts. I didn't love everything, of course, but walked out of the Cafe with a smile and a sugar high. Not a bad way to start a Saturday.

The service was impeccable. Our water glasses were always filled and there were tons of servers refilling the dessert stations, clearing finished plates, etc.

Cafe Fleuri really makes you feel like a kid -- from the ice cream sundae station and the chocolate fountain to the DJ playing 90's pop. Do yourself a solid one and make a reservation.

I came here for restaurant week and perhaps thats why the food was not very good. The decor is very old with gaudy carpet and old furniture. I think they need a renovation here...they even had random chairs sitting around at the corner of the cafe. I was disappointed especially because it's in the Langham hotel.

I started with the Arugula Salad with walnuts and pears. The greens were slightly bitter and didn't taste very fresh.

For my entree I got the Lobster Mac and Cheese which was not good at all. They gave very little lobster that wasn't very fresh at all. I'm guessing it's because of the restaurant week pricing. It was extremely creamy and the soft type of mac and cheese.

I got the Creme Brulee for dessert. This was a very huge dessert considering our entree was so tiny. Nothing special about the Creme Brulee in my opinion and way too much sugar on top of the custard.

I don't think I will be coming back here anytime soon.

    Jazz Brunch

It is officially spring and the weather has been beautiful lately.  Why not spend a Sunday afternoon at a Jazz Brunch at the Langham Hotel?  I really just can not get enough of this place.  On Saturday you can enjoy a Chocolate Shangri-La at the Chocolate Bar and you can come back on Sunday for the Jazz Brunch at Cafe Fleuri.  What a fantastic way to wind down your weekend with live Jazz and good food.

My best advice is to study the menu prior to your arrival so you can have a game plan!  I said this before and it really is the truth for Cafe Fleuri but you really have to see it to believe it!

This review is for the Chocolate Bar only which, I'm sad to say, left me with some very mixed feelings.

I had been looking forward to the Chocolate Bar ever since my brother, who had gone for his last birthday, talked about how amazing everything was. So, I decided to go this weekend. First of all, I will say that the hotel itself is very nice. I experienced impeccable service from when I called to make reservations until the check came. Everyone from the doorman to the hostess was amazing. When I was seated I asked, and was provided with, a small pitcher of milk. When I explained to the staff that I am allergic to 3 kinds of fruits, the pastry chef walked me through all of the very delicious desserts and told me which ones to avoid. Just generally REALLY good service. My water glass was always filled, empty plates were always cleared.

I found the variety of chocolate dishes (and non-chocolate dishes) to be outstanding and, while unfortunately was not able to try all of them, was very impressed. My favorites included the crepes that everyone raves about, a raspberry chocolate mousse, a butterscotch/chocolate concoction in a tiny pie-shell, and the made-from scratch potato chips. I was relieved to see that they did have a little salt-station full of amazing potato chips, popcorn, and what appeared to be doughnut holes. Yum. Nibbling on salty items and sipping milk between desserts is vital. :)

I had brought a book and, at others' suggestions, planned to stay for most of the afternoon sampling each and every dish that was brought out, taking my time, eating slowly, and enjoying the ambiance. But I only made it 90 minutes. Okay, but not as long as I would have liked. The food was great, the service was great, I had a good table by the windows and enjoyed reading my book, but I eventually became just turned off by the loud music and all the kids. I really didn't think the music would be as loud as it was. And while I was seated a decent distance from it, every-time I went up to get desserts I felt the need to return to my table ASAP. It made me wonder if the loud music was some kind of subversive tactic to *prevent* people from staying all afternoon. I doubt that, but who knows?

The kids were mostly very well-dressed (cute) and very well-behaved. But they still ran, needed to be told not to touch things, and they were still underfoot. And when the couple with the whiny, sleepy, cranky toddlers were seated next to my table I decided to take my exit. (Time to put the kids down for a nap, folks. Not pump them full of sugar.)

I'm not sure I'll return to the Chocolate Bar mainly because with tax and tip it cost me $50, but also because of the loud music and the kids.

I would suggest that The Langham Hotel consider having kid-free and top-40-free days (maybe once a month?) where adults can relax, savor the sites, smells, and tastes of the chocolate bar, and enjoy more mellow music. For me, at least, a harpist or pianist  would have made the experience incredible. As it was, I felt like the class had just been taken down a notch.

That being said, great service, very delicious food, and many beautiful views. Just be aware of the price, the kids, and the music.

This is one restaurant that I am having difficulty rating.  I really do not want to give it a four but I do not want to give it a three either.  I prefer to rate it as a 3.5.

I have been going to this restaurant ever since I work in Boston more than a decade ago.  However, their menu options do not excite me anymore.  It's not obvious to me what makes them better than most restaurants.  Their service is not predictable.  They're good sometimes and lacking quality other times.

For example, my friend and I ordered each a dessert.  I ordered the pudding that supposed to have some sauce.  I think the sauce was supposed to be a bourbon butter sauce or something similar.

I was eating my pudding and I cannot figure out what sauce the menu was referring to.

I only figured out where the sauce was after I finished my pudding.  A pudding that I thought was dry for something that should had came with sauce.

The sauce was on the other side of the table, next to my friend who ordered creme brulee.  He did not use it because he thought that it did not go with his dessert.

I did not use it because I did not even notice it.  The most important thing to me is how things end.   Hence, dessert is the most important part of the meal for me.  Being disappointed at dessert made me feel unfulfilled and satisfied with my whole dining experience.

We came here to try the chocolate bar and it was an experience of a lifetime. I felt like I was in a modern day version of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory with 3 ft tall chocolate sculptures and sweets piled high everywhere I turned. Who in their right mind would pay $40 dollars to eat nothing but desserts? Don't answer that.

They had every imaginable dessert here and unfortunately we were more wowed by the presentation than the taste of the majority of the desserts. Don't get me wrong because all the sweets were still good but just not spectacular. I got to give the pastry chefs props for mass producing such a wide array of desserts. The standout desserts were the chocolate croissant bread pudding(my fav) and bacon chocolate tart. We tried an endless array of layered cakes, tiramisu, mousse parfaits, tartlets, truffles, and crepes. After our sweets marathon, we were a little green and sick to our stomachs...as expected. This is the perfect place for a sweets aficionado.

What better way to take in St. Patty's day in Boston other than a trip to the Chocolate Bar at Cafe Fleuri. This may be the ultimate indulgence!

This place has it all, from chocolate shots to a chocolaty fountain and everything in between. All items are separated out in to chocolate sections. Dark, Milk, White and Semi sweet, plus cotton candy for the kids or the kids in us all. I'm a bigger fan of the dark and spent most of my time there, though one of the best things I ate wasn't even chocolate, but a sweet warm beignets, which shows their dedication to excellence.

Don't forget the reservation and head on over, as you won't regret it!

2 of my girlfriends and I came here for a holiday celebration and their birthdays.  We came for the chocolate bar.

Everything was great, we were seated right away and were really looking forward to indulging.  One thing that we were not really fond of was the DJ.  He was great and I'd love to book him for our next evening out, but to have club music in the middle of the day at a nice hotel - it just didn't fit.  We all commented that it would have been nicer to have holiday music.  Santa was there, but only visited 1 table - maybe because we were adults he shied away, but it would have been nice to have a picture with Santa.

There were tons of kids there - which was fine and what we expected.  So some of the buffet sections were a little more chaotic than others.

Some of the deserts were amazing and some were ho-hum.  To be expected.  I was really excited about the crepe station - but was terribly disappointed.  The crepe was not cooked all the way (yes, that thin tiny little thing wasn't cooked fully) and the chocolate that was put inside never melted so there were big chips.  The only edible part was the fruit.  Luckily, I did not request banana's in my crepe as they were mushy brown yuck.

I would never go here again, it's not worth the $40.  But I am very glad I went.  It was a nice once in a lifetime treat.  I agree with the other person who commented that it might be better to go buy $40 worth of deserts and indulge that way!  You'd get more of what you like.

Oh, and I have no idea how you can prepare for this.  We could only make 2 passes at the buffet before we were sick.

Review for Chocolate Bar on Saturdays

Took a girl friend who was craving chocolate. We had reservations so there was no wait. Valet parking was only $15 (vs. $10 self park) at the hotel.

Everything looked great, but the taste and quality.... not so great. The pastries were dry and not very appetizing for $45pp  (usually $40 if it's not holiday season). It's good if you aren't too picky about your desserts.

Worth the calories: chocolate croissant bread pudding, crepe bar, fresh fruit and chocolate fountain.

    TIPS:

    1. Great place if you are under 18 since your palate can't really tell what "quality" is.

    2. if there is something you like but don't see, just ask the waiter and they will make it for you...

    Chocolate Brunch Review:

I had always wanted to check it out (being a self-confessed sugar/chocolate fiend), and what better occasion than my soon-to-be sister in law's bachelorette?

I would imagine it's infinitely more fun with a large-ish group of people, so you can share things and everyone can try stuff without feeling the burden of having to finish.

So, speaking of which, this thing is a TON - I repeat, TON - of sugar.  Not just chocolate (though it's definitely the feature).  You will have at least 50+ options of different sweets to try - prepare your belt buckle for the multiple trips - or better yet, wear something stretchy.

Also, do not expect any savory options.  None.  We went at the first reservation time - 11am - I recommend eating a hearty breakfast and doing a later reservation.  Stuff yourself with dessert, and then don't eat for 24 hours.  Healthy, right?

No, not so much, but quite delicious!  You'll try things you won't like, and others will knock your socks off.  My favorites were the crepe bar (go for the banana flambee), the chocolate shot, and the passion fruit mousse.  Another component of note is that they start bringing different things out after about 30-45 minutes.  The cheese-based items that came out when I was there were freaking awesome, so keep your eyes out on that 4th or 5th trip.

Bottom line is that I definitely recommend it for a special occasion, but hopefully one to which you can wear your thanksgiving clothes.

The Chocolate Bar on Saturdays is fantastic! Little pots of mousse, a crepe bar, chocolate fountain, sundae bar, cupcake station, hot chocolate of various types on demand--it is like a chocolate dreamworld.

There is a special price for children and indeed there were a number of children there, usually wearing princess costumes. I wished I'd worn one myself!

Sadly, there's nothing savory or proteiny to balance out all this sugar and caffeine, so eat eggs before you go or plan to feel awful after you crash down. Wonderful for a special day, but mind the crash.

I got to celebrate 30 years of me by attending the chocolate bar here.  It was a wonderfully indulgent experience and definitely satisfied my chocolate cravings for the next year.  Our server was helpful and offered great advice for where to find the best lobster roll after our ability to eat again came back.

I really tried my best to eat $40 dollars worth of chocolate.  However, while the first plate had me thinking about how to strategically try everything the third plate had me thinking "I'm gonna die..." Pure chocolate overload.

I enjoyed everything I tried and my only suggestion is that there is some sort of palate cleanser at the end to take off the edge of the chocolate.  Other than that, it was top notch and I would recommend it.

    Chocolate bar review!

This is a unique and delicious experience that everyone should try at least once when in Boston. I was taken here for my birthday and - being a foodie and certified chocoholic - it was pure bliss. The atmosphere and architecture of the Cafe is beautiful and classy. My boyfriend and I were seated outside of the buffet room under the glass ceiling and paper lanterns. Our waiter was attentive and funny and explained our options to us. I initially thought that the DJ spinning top 40 hits was a little out of place, but I came to see that loud pop-y music helpd to enhance the exhilarating 'kid in a candy store' feeling you get at an all-you-can-eat chocolate and sweets buffet.

The offerings included chocolate alcoholic drinks, a truffle bar, a chocolate fountain, a crepe station, spiced hot chocolate and apple cider dispensers, an ice cream station, and a cotton candy maker next to a table of whoopie pies and cupcakes. But the central focus was this year's chocolate theme - the five tastes, sweet, savory, bitter, sour, and salty - explored through chocolate. Five tables filled the center of the room with hundreds of artfully arranged single-serving plates and glasses holding exquisite chocolate (and several non-chocolate) creations. Some of my favorites were raspberry mouse (sweet), sour chocolate cream with brandied cherries (sour) and chocolate pudding with olive oil, sea salt and a breadstick (salty).

You want to try one of everything, and get your $40pp money's worth, but after your first plate, you realize that your stomach simply won't allow it, and just when you think you've nibbled everything you desire, the staff bring out new, different treats to replace the eaten ones! Attending the chocolate bar is a decadent excercise in stamina and self-control. I'd say it's best to attend after a very light breakfast or early lunch, and indulge slowly - then eat a salad for the rest of the day.

Overall, a fantastic experience, perfect for special occassions. I want to bring others back for future celebrations!

    The Chocolate Bar

Thanks for making my Bachelorette outing so yummy!

My friends took me to the Langham for the Chocolate Bar.  It was delicious!  there are a lot of very pretty options - various mousse options, pastries and cake bites.  there is a truffle station - hand rolled - fresh and delicious.  A lovely chef makes crepes to order, and will flambe them for you with your choice of liquor.  the ice cream bar only has a choice of vanilla or chocolate ice creams, mixed on a marble slab with your selection of toppings.
although it's not chocolate, i loved the cotton candy machine.
the service was great, the presentation was lovely.  there was even a dj spinning some tunes.

now to the less than positive points - do not expect any savory foods - no chocolate mole sauce or cocoa powder on fish.  when i asked about savory food, i was directed to the pretzels near the chocolate fountain.  FYI Langham, salt does not equal savory.

i think the concept is fantastic, but they don't take it far enough.  there is nothing original about this and you can only eat so much mousse.
the creme brule, which is my fave thing in the world, was awful!  it was so thick that it had the consistency of cheesecake and the top was not crisp.

good time, but definitely room for improvement.

Note this review is for regular restaurant and not for the chocolate bar: went into cafe with very high expectations but definitely was disappointed by certain aspects of the experience.  I found the overall noise level to be way too high due to the layout so it was hard to have a business lunch there.  The service was ok once we got a waiter but it took about 15 plus minutes for us to get one.  Then the food took forever to come out.  The meal itself was delicious but the wait was just way too much.  If you are hungry definitely get an appetizer bc the waif will be long!

This review is for the Chocolate Bar at Cafe Fleuri, which is open Saturdays from 11-3 from September-June.  I have eaten here twice, and the experiences have been very consistent.

While the sheer size of Cafe Fleuri's chocolate bar is impressive, they consistently sacrifice quality for quantity.  You will find a ton of chocolate here, but very few items that make you say "wow."  I'd go so far as to say only the crepes, chocolate bread pudding, and marble slab ice cream station are above average.  The hand-rolled truffles are also worth trying.

What really gets me about this place is that I really would expect better quality when you charge $40 per person.  Instead you get a lot of mediocre desserts... and a sick feeling in your stomach for the next few hours.

My recommendation: go explore the best desserts in Boston on your own, and save your $40.  But if you want to be impressed by the most chocolate in a single room, don't say I didn't warn you.

Come here if you have have no calorie restrictions and an expandable gut because Cafe Fleuri will make you FAT.

But what's to complain about getting fat? Getting fat here is totally worth it. I joined my best friend's uncles here for brunch on Sunday (mind you, Cafe Fleuri is like... the best Sunday brunch ever and you MUST make reservations!)... we had mimosas, bloody mary's, and way too many servings of.... all their good stuff! This is NOT your typical buffet where the food is abundant but the food is mediocre. Here, everything is delicious. They have a sushi station where the chef makes them fresh, a meat station, omelet station, crepe station, dessert station, salad station.... omg, stations that I didn't even get to because I just couldn't hit them all up.

    2 final words: Chocolate fountain.

    3 more: Shut. It. Dowwwwn....!

I wish I came here with an empty stomach!

This place gives you a relaxing atmosphere with the pretty decor..I felt like I was at a tea party haha. I really enjoyed all the desserts especially being able to create your own crepe to mixing your own ice cream sandwich :)

Definitely would go back the next time I ever go to Boston again...but with a half empty tummy :D

I love their Sunday brunch buffet.  There is plenty of variety, plenty of desserts and plenty of dishes for all palates (kids to fine dining).  It is expensive, so this is the splurge birthday, anniversary, special event place, but it is my top choice to celebrate such an event in a daytime setting.  I have yet to try the chocolate bar, but look forward to trying that sometime.

Want to have a great time with your kids on XMAS? Try the buffet at the Cafe Fleuri.  Roast beef, turkey and ham... sushi and more sushi. lobster bisque, shrimp, omelet stations, crepe stations, a bazillion desserts! Santa was hilarious, the balloon man was talented, the carolers were right out of the nutcracker - and Lincoln Center quality! My waiter was sooooo nice to us and his helpers were great. Four people on XMAS all perfectly happy. We'll be back!

    Sunday brunch review:

Live music was ok. Jazz trio. The bassist was staring at my date. I gave him the hairy eyeball and he stopped his shenanigans. Onward.

There's a ton of food. Standout items include:

Carpaccio of beef, salmon en croute, crab claws, roasted beet and goat cheese, and chocolate bread pudding.  The amount of choices is a bit overwhelming. I have to admit it made me feel a bit guilty. I mean, there was probably a homeless guy within 1/2 a mile of the place I was dropping 50 bucks for breakfast. Like, I couldve just had a bagel and donated money to a food pantry and the world (and my heart) wouldve been better off.

Meh. Brunch is wasted on me. It's 50 clams and who can eat that much? It's ok if you want to be super-indulgent, but I think you're better off hitting a diner for an omelet and getting yourself a really nice dinner somewhere later on. But that's just me. 3.5 depressing stars.

My husband and I love brunch, but we could never justify $52pp without a special occasion.  The food is good, some dishes better than others, but nothing stands out as particularly excellent.  They have lots of seafood (shrimp, oysters, lobster omelette) and a good selection of other things.  Fresh orange juice included, but it took forever to get a refill.
The French toast was dry (try cutting it thinner), and the cheese blintzes had been sitting in the warmer a little too long.  Definitely try the lobster mac and cheese.  I don't think we will be going back, as there are better brunches for much less $$.  Blue Room anyone?

A couple of weeks ago I went to the chocolate buffet on a Saturday.  It is almost like a dreamland with the amount of desserts that are everywhere.  For $40 you can have all you can eat dessert.  Most of it is chocolate, but there are some non chocolate items if you are not a big fan.  The cotton candy machine, homemade ice cream and crepe stand was a nice touch to the experience.  I did not care too much for the truffle stand.  I think this could be improved upon.

I think this place would be perfect for a birthday party, baby shower or wedding party.  How many places can you go to that encourage massive amounts of chocolate consumption....well, I guess maybe Switzerland or France, but Boston does a pretty good job at it now too.

Service was good too.  The host and server were very nice.

This review is for the chocolate bar.

I have been here twice now and had a wonderful time on both occasions. The first time it was just myself and a girlfriend. We were floored at the fact that this "ladies who luncheon" atmosphere had a DJ blasting hip hop and top 40. it was very odd, but definitely awesome...who doesnt want to listen to Ke$ha and GAGA as they're stuffing their face with chocolate goodness?! Someone commented that the music was very loud...I didnt think so, and in fact, the second time we came back, now with a larger party and sitting much closer to the main food area, I found the music being a lot more quiet than last time. So maybe management read some yelp reviews? look how considerate they are!!

in terms of wait staff, I thought they were very attentive in terms of refilling drinks and clearing plates...no complaints there. On my first visit we had this one guy, wish i could remember his name...it was something ethnic, who literally pulled out our chairs if he was in the area when we came to the table. Also, both times, while you're away from the table getting food, the servers will refold your napkins which i think is a really nice touch. Also, the second time we were there, the server from the first visit was there too and recognized us and told us how nice it was to see us back there. Very nice :)

Im excited to come back maybe during restaurant week and try the food.

We took my in-laws to the Sunday brunch at the Langham when they were in town recently. The variety is hard to beat. My wife and father-in-law put a dent in the raw bar, with my 8 year old daughter helping out with the shashimi. I'm not a sushi guy myself so I took advantage of the made to order pasta and omelette bars. The pesto was great with both shrimp and chicken.

The array of desserts was impressive so we made sure to sample as many items as possible. The kids and grandma enjoyed the chocolate fountain while I preferred the gelato and cheese cakes.

It was a buffet but the service was still very good. Plates were quickly cleared and water promptly refilled. The rooms themselves are beautiful, and it is almost worth the price just to look into the Bond bar which my daughter would say is exquisite.

At the price, we won't become regulars, but fun to experience and a great place to go if you want to show off a little.

Without a doubt, the chocolate bar was one of the best experiences of my life.  I was fortunate enough to know somebody who works at the Langham Hotel and receive a 50% discount (KA-CHING!).  Otherwise, broke as I am, I probably would never have been able to experience this delectable smorgasbord of chocolate.

There is every kind of chocolate delicious dessert you could dream of.
    Chocolate pasta.
    Chocolate cake.
    Chocolate pie.
    Chocolate pizza.
    Eclairs.
    Creme brulee.
A huge variety of fruits to dip in chocolate or stuff inside your chocolate crepe and then top with chocolate sauce and marshmallows.
You can even order chocolate martinis!  (for extra $$)

I could go on and on, but you really should go try it for yourself.  I left feeling slightly ill, but it was completely worth it.

I really, really wanted to like the Chocolate Bar more than I ended up liking it.  As my time there wore on, a B-/C+ grade was forming in my mind and I kept hoping against hope something would turn it into an A.

Don't get me wrong, the Chocolate Bar is an exceedingly unique experience.  As it is a $40 all you can eat buffet of chocolate and desserts, how can it not be? But the execution just wasn't there. Some of the baked offerings were dry, others were clawing it their sweetness or bitterness. I felt as if I could recreate at least half the dishes in my home with a minimum of fuss and generate better results. That's not the kind of statistic I like to see after dropping $40 on food.

Still, it wasn't an awful experience.  The crepe station and ice cream station were nice touches. There was a DJ spinning live. And some of the items I tried were fair to good. While I wouldn't go back, I certainly don't regret going the first time. And honestly, I bet the majority of folks would get a kick out of it.

Can you say chocolate decadence?  Can you say sugar overload?  Can you say utter bliss?

The Chocolate Bar at Cafe Fleuri offers over 100 different sweet options.  It's a dessert lover's paradise.  Some of the highlights were the freshly-made crepes and the chocolate fountain.  I got the chocolate martini trio, but I couldn't tell the difference between dark, milk, and white!  Wtf, mate?  I would've expected AT LEAST a difference in the color of the drinks.  They were tasty, though, with only slight differences in flavor.

I must've gone on an off weekend because I didn't see the chocolate pizza or the pasta!!!!  Super sad face.

The vibe was pretty cool, fancy casual, and they had a DJ playing mostly Top 40 music.  There was a Sweet 16 party going on when I went, so a bunch of the girls went over to dance and flirt with the DJ.  It was amusing.

This is definitely a special occasion/one time thing outing.  If you love dessert, especially chocolate, definitely check it out.

Tip:  Don't come here with a completely empty stomach.  You don't want to come out with a sugar stomachache.

Came here for the Chocolate Buffet an embarrassingly large number of times (ok like 5). The perfect place for out of town guests, girly outings or birthdays. Let's do a quick cost benefit analysis, shall we?

    $25  = 5 Godiva chocolate covered strawberries.
$25 = entrance to the buffet = 5 chocolate covered strawberries plus the following:
an unlimited amount of strawberries (on top of those first 5 of course)
an unlimited amount of Mexican chocolate soup
an unlimited amount of chocolate croissant bread pudding
an unlimited amount of chocolate crepes made to order with your choice of toppings
    an unlimited amount of truffles
an unlimited amount of a dozen or so types of cakes (including those of the cream cheese variety)
an unlimited amount of mini tarts - with all sorts of fillings
an unlimited amount of CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN!
an unlimited amount of lots of other things that I can't remember because my mind keeps going back to the aforementioned bread pudding...

umm, it's pretty obvious where you can get more for your money.

make reservations and bring stretchy pants.
