This small restaurant is near the Washington Square Park in North Beach near Chinatown. This place is located near many other great Italian restaurants in the area, so we figured the food must've be at least good (as in a few steps above canned "Italian" processed food from supermarkets).

When we sat down and ordered, bread with olive oil and pitted olives along with water was served almost immediately upon ordering. The water served in a green glass wine bottle, which was a classy touch. We ordered the Beef Bourguignonne & Roasted Chicken dinner. The portions were tasty and filling, so our night was great after the main entrees made us full.

The restaurant itself was fairly intimate, though the lighting was just okay. We will return here again sometime soon.

    It was a perfect dinner.
    Yes, it was.
    "Perfect dinner" means:
    1. Almost endless fun conversation.
    2. A surprising menu choice.
    3. Great timing of serving, means that no interruptions, the waitress, was wonderful, her timing was really perfect.

Right before we came here, we went to see a movie "Jiro Dreams of Sushi", The jackass SofB Sushi-Nazi who kicks Nobu in NY and Morimoto's lousy ass out very easily.
But, the perfect sushi won't be a "perfect dinner" because:
    1. Jiro won't even let you have a conversation w/ your date while he is serving sushi.
    2. You must leave soon after done eating sushi. Jiro won't let you stay. Jiro will say something like, "You want a talk, talk somewhere else, not in my shop! Just shut-up and eat."

There is ceremonial-rule in sushi that you must to follow.

I have read Jiro's book about 10 years ago when "Kai-Ten sushi" became popular in Japan. "Kai-Ten sushi" is a cheap-ass sushi joint almost all over Japan own by a corporation, they buy many fish at once, and created sushi-machine to sell sushi cheaper, so ruined many local small sushi business very badly.

Anyway, after we watched the "Sushi" movie, we know that we won't go for sushi for dinner because it won't be like Jiro's any where in SF, or US.
But we were sure looking for something "nice" because the movie we saw.
So we walked around North Beach and we came here around 7 pm.

    Appetizer:
Mixed sausage and cheese plate, it was the days special. forgot the price, i think it was about  $10 or $11, plenty sausage and cheese mix, I mean it was huge! The plate really surprised us.

    Prix-Fixe Roast Chicken Dinner:
The roast chicken was really juicy inside, and of course crispy out side. It comes with tasty baked long potatoes.
The dinner includes warm olives, mixed greens, cappuccino pots de creme, $19.95

    Pasta Dinner:
Baked Penne with Italian sausage, onion, roasted red bell peppers and goat cheese. Perfect baked, great flavor. Come w/ a cup of black been soup. $16.25

2008 Claude Thomas, Red, Zinfandel, $29, it was not too young, not too heavy, but it's a  high alcohol content, about 16%, I really liked it.

We were so lucky, i think it was luck, to have a great waitress. Her timing was just right for every thing the night.
I was already bombed when we were finishing the sausage and cheese plate with my 1st glass of wine. well, 14% alcohol does that.
We shared the cappuccino pots de creme, I really liked it even though I never had one before, but according to my gf, it was so perfect.

We were there for a long time, nearly 2 hours, conversation was non stop, lots of laugh.
I really don't know that we were just lucky, or its just the night or next visit would be different. I don't know.
But, Yes, it was 5 star, perfect dinner the night for us.
Hopin' next visit would be the same.

In any San Francisco neighborhood you go to, there's always the redheaded stepchild restaurant in close proximity to the favorite son eatery. If the favorite son's being stubborn, then you'll settle. That's what my girlfriend and I had to do when we were told that the 4.5 star Tony's Pizzeria in North Beach was a 45 minute wait at 2:30pm in the afternoon. We were too hungry to wait, despite our intense Draw Something games that were currently engaged in.

So we settled. Just a hop, skip and jump away is Cafe Divine, the "good enough" eatery in North Beach. It's neither mind blowingly good or terrible, it simply exists - most likely as the afterthought for Tony's would-be patrons.

While the Arnold Palmer I sipped on was delicious, my girlfriend and I weren't impressed by the Ceasar Salad and Margherita Pizza, respectively, that we ordered. They were good enough to satiate our appetites, but not memorable enough for me to write either a scathing or glowingly descriptive review. One positive note -- the artwork on the ceilings are lovely.

Bottom line -- if it's a beautiful, weekend day in North Beach, you'll be hard pressed to quickly get a table at places like Mama's or Tony's to relieve the grumble in your tummy. Thankfully, that's why places like Caffe Divine exist. Just don't expect the food or service to be anything but the mundane.

The atmosphere was great - cozy, live music and a nice crowd. However, it wasnt crowded and there were available tables - and that should have told me the food was average.

I ordered a salad with walnuts and pear - they used overripe pears in the salad. You could also tell they needed to get rid of the pears they had (overripe!) so half the salad consisted of overripe pear!

Rock Cod was the special of the day - it was okay but nothing to write home about.

All in all, the food is average - not bad - but certainly not as good as other places in N Beach.

If you're looking for classics (bacon, home fries, and sunny side-up eggs), don't bother.  This place "only makes eggs benny" (or benedict).  Also, they're idea of home fries is large chunks of potatoes with a dash a pepper.  What kind of place makes eggs benedict but not sunny side-up?

Really should be closer to 3.5 stars, but I need to come back here for one of their Pizzas sometime.  That was what I wanted to order, as I was in that in between time for breakfast and lunch, but they were only serving breakfast.  So I ordered the Eggs Benedict.  Wow, very nice!  Great flavor, and the salmon was really tasty!  Service was a little slow.  Overall, solid place I would return to again.

This place didn't seem as popular as the restaurants next to it (Tony's PIzzeria and Original Joe's). My bf and I only decided to come here after we found out the wait at Original Joe's was 30 min.

I liked the atmosphere at this restaurant, but I didn't think the food was to die for. We got the roasted chicken and the baked penne with a side salad. The roasted chicken was pretty good; I really liked the sauce that covered it and would recommend to others. But the baked penne consisted of two tastes, tomato sauce and goat cheese, so it got kind of boring after a few bites. A lot of people seem to like it their breakfast, so maybe I should give that a go?

Reporting back after ripping through their menu.  Sadly, I just learned that I could have saved with a http://restaurant.com coupon:

Best for dessert in this order:
    (1) pies - can't go wrong.  My favorite is the blueberry but the others are just as good.
    (2) warm ginger cake with caramel - the best thing on the menu - bang'n
    (3) Chocolate cake - chocolate lovers who don't like flour in their cake - hit this
    (4) ice cream sunday your way - bang'n gelato your way w/ brownie
    (5) lemon tart - my least favorite dessert

Best pizza:  Paradiso - White pizza w/ mushrooms - pungent smell - divine taste.

Best salad: tough call because they are all good, but I like the roasted beet

    Wine selection: good

Ambiance: romantic at night, chill during the day w/ outside seating.  gets really busy.

Least favorite dish: roasted chicken dinner - tasty & free range but not my fave.

Cherry on the cake:  great coffee and tea.

Best meal here: brunch served til 1pm m-f and weekends til 2p.  Mmm waffles with bacon, cheddar, scallions and syrup.  Dessert always a good pick.

Curious to try the self proclaimed best eggs benedict in the world, we tried Cafe Divine for brunch Sunday morning. I was really excited for the smoked salmon that was on the eggs benedict, but it was not smoked salmon. It was baked salmon with some smokey seasoning. It would have been so good were it actually more like lox! This left me severely disappointed. The small redeeming factor were the potatoes, which were savory and I liked the fact that the some of the skin was left on.  The only other thing I'd consider coming back for would be the waffles with bacon.

The decor is great and open. Paintings and pictures line the walls. They also have a really nice outdoor patio area which faces Washington Square.

Cafe Divine as always is a warm and friendly spot in the heart of North Beach.  We had the ultimate pleasure of seeing Sony and Jerry Holland here again this past weekend.  What a fantastic concert and hope to see them there again very soon.

I wanted to particularly comment on the restaurant itself.  From making reservations to the waitstaff in general, they are extremely efficient, friendly, helpful and accommodating.

I've been to Cafe Divine many times over the years and pretty much had a taste of most of their foods and "DIVINE" desserts.  However, due to health issues now, I was very much limited to what I could eat.

I decided to try the Mediterranean tuna salad.  I had no idea what to expect, as I had not tried it during any previous outings there.  I absolutely loved it.  It was tasty, spicy -and I don't know what spices they used but it complimented the dish perfectly. It was also filling which surprised me.  My dinner companion had the quiche and field greens which I have had in the past and he was very pleased.  His chocolate cake and ice cream dessert was calling out to me in high pitched sweet whispers, however I was good and just watched while he savored each bite.

It was a wonderful weekend there and I look forward to coming back soon.

Went here with a family a while ago but didn't get a chance to review until now (lost my other account email/pw! grr).

Food was okay, I had the spaghetti while the rest of my family got the Prixe Fix dinner with chicken. It was pretty awesome how they had complimentary appetizers, which were needed since the the wait for the food was a bit longer than I expected. The spaghetti was okay, not BAM good, but okay.

The waiter messed up my brother's order, but being the nice fellow that my bro is, got out unscathed. My dad said the chicken was a bit dry, but the dessert was very heavenly. I guess that evens out!

Had brunch here last Sunday after a long bike ride across the GG bridge.  The wait for our food was a bit long, and the server wasn't particularly friendly, but the food and atmosphere (it's located right on the sunny Washington Square park) made up for it.

I had the Quiche Lorraine (fantastic) and a few of my friends ordered the pizza, also very delicious.

We were off to have Mama's brunch just down the block and figured that the rain might deter others - no such luck!  So we ended up at Cafe Devine instead - luckily!  The wait was about 15 - 20 minutes and well worth the wait.  We both had the bennies thing that was their take on eggs benedict and it was very tasty!  We highly recommend brunch here and would venture out in the rain again!

The decor was simplistic, which is surprising to me. Casual yet classy enviro.  High-ceilings and attentive wait staff.  My pal & I shared the Inferno pizza:  I dont like pepperoni, so was happy to find they use SALAMI.  That made all the difference & its Over-Fired y'all.... delicious intermingling of flavors!!

Don't miss this pizza experience!  I will return to try their brunch, my fave mealtime.

This place is great for date (first time or steady), out-of-town guests, small groups, takeout, or solo dining.

We ended here by default.  We were on our way to try Mama's which had a humongous line and we had hungry boys.  The breakfast choices are very limited not american type which gives everyone something to eat. My youngest is a picky eater and likes oatmeal only in the a.m. He settled for yogurt with granola, but frowned when he took his first taste and ended up just eating fresh fruit.  My eldest son had a bagel with hot chocolate which came with a "friend" the waitress took it and brought him a new one.

I had the breakfast sandwich which was delicious, but too much egg.  My coffee was not good as well; it kinda had an aroma of urine, but maybe it was because the door was open to the outdoors.

Our seats were near the front door and it was a cool day, so i did not enjoy this part of my breakfast.

Glad we stopped here, but not sure if we would stop here next time while in San Francisco.

This is a cute little bistro that offers up a wide range of food, most of which is quite good. We stopped in for a latest dinner after attending a show nearby so the place was not full at all. The servers are incredibly nice and attentive. They have a board that lists all of the specials for the day in addition to everything on the main menu. We were pretty hungry so we ordered quickly and they brought out so focaccia bread and an olive oil dip.

The salads came out shortly after, but then there was an INCREDIBLY long wait for the main course. We kept waiting and waiting and finally our server came over and apologized and offered us some soup or something else on the house. This was a very nice gesture, but also definitely the appropriate thing to do considering how long we were having to wait. They brought out our complimentary soup and appetizers and then the main courses came shortly after. The pizzas are very good and the chicken entree is delicious. Unfortunately, the quiche was really bad. It had absolutely no flavor. I ended up having to steal food from my dining companion's plates because I was really unimpressed by my dish. The side salad that came with it was okay.

For dessert we shared the cheesecake. Epic failure. Do not order this. It literally taste like nothing.

The prices here are fantastic especially considering the ideal location directly across from Washington Square. I'd definitely go back assuming I don't have to wait entirety to be fed again and I would never order the quiche.

Ok, so I'm with all the other reviews, we only came here because our first spot Momma's had a line around the corner so we decided to give Cafe Diving a shot.  Most of us ordered breakfast, which was not good at all!!!  One of my friends ordered the Eggs Benedict and her eggs were fully cooked, so she had to have her plate returned to have the eggs cooked properly.  I ordered the omelet which was decent, well actually now that I think of it, I've made better at home.  Ordered the waffle, when served was ice cold.  Horrible!  I think the only thing good on our table was my friend's pizza.  Maybe this place is horrible at breakfast and should just stick to serving lunch.  Who knows?  I wont ever know because I'll probably never return.

As we are eating, I notice most of the servers standing in front of the bar area, I suppose to wait and serve on customers, again who knows.  I get up to use the restroom and let me warn you...the restroom are disgusting.  I was even scared to flush the toilet, didn't want to touch the handle, grabbed a tissue and flushed the toilet.  You can tell the restroom has not been cleaned in months.  Probably only mopped w/the left over mop water from the restaurant.  YUCK  My advice, instead of having those waiters stand around and stare us down as we eat, they should make a cleaning schedule and share the duties in cleaning up their ONLY restroom.  My guess is if their restroom looks this bad then their kitchen is probably worse, oh god, so scary and to think I ate here grrrrrrrrrr.

So my recommendations, if Momma's line is too long, go somewhere else, if you're totally desperate and hungry then maybe order from their lunch menu and DO NOT use the restroom, hold it until you find another one.  Our first clue shouldve been that this restaurant has no lines out the door.

Yeah - Cafe Divine is not so divine.

Couldn't handle the wait any longer for Tony's across the street and decided to try this place out, although it wasn't very full despite the fact that it was fleet week and they are smack dab in the middle of North Beach.  I should have followed my instincts, but it was getting late and we were hungry and trying to make it to a movie.

Beef Bourguignon was horrible, I ended up picking out the meet but the sauce was just not good.  Not even sure how to describe it - it lacked any sort of intensity of beef flavor.

Jambalaya was the same, my husband ended up getting through about a quarter of it before giving up.  The only thing that was palatable was the sausage pizza my son ordered, not the best, but good enough.   As we sat there reviewing our check and lamenting about the poor quality of our meal  I got the call from Tony's to tell us that our table was ready....it took every ounce of strength to tell them to give the table to someone else since I was still hungry.

Moral of the story - if the place is empty while every other place on the block has a wait there's probably a really good reason for it.

My friend and I decided to grab a drink here while we waited for our table at Don Pistos.  Prior to this, I was a regular brunch customer.  The server was incredible; he let us try a whole bunch of wines before we decided which one we were getting.  We were so happy that we decided to give up on our Don Pistos table, and stay for dinner.

My friend and I shared the potato pancakes and Purgatorio pizza.  We were happy with the food!  This place is officially a win-win for me.

Yep, we initially tried to go to Mama's but the line was ridiculous by 9:30am. I was shocked. Regardless, we decided to try something else and wandered over to Cafe Divine.

Like my biscuits and gravy, I was lukewarm on the experience. The coffee was good and the atmosphere very brunchy -- take that as you will -- but I wasn't wowed. I would come here if I lived nearby but wouldn't say it's a worthy cross-town destination. I'd be happy coming back, but won't go out of my way to arrange my next visit.

My party of 3 ordered two pizzas--a mushroom/truffle one and a salami with pepperoni added to it. They were both very good, especially the mushroom one. The food arrived promptly. I ordered regular coffee after my meal and it was lukewarm. My refill was slightly above lukewarm. Good thing I don't use milk or I would have had an ice coffee! The special board advertized blueberry pie. We eyed this all evening with mouth-watering anticipation. Upon ordering our dessert, we were informed they were out of blueberry pie. We shared the brownie sundae and gingerbread cake. I thought the brownie was dry but my husband enjoyed it. The gingerbread cake was very yummy served with vanilla ice cream. I was disappointed that we were just a tad too early to order the chicken meal. I would like to go back again and try it. Prices were very reasonable. Will definately consider going back again.

    Pros:
    Awesome mushroom/truffle pizza
    Yummy gingerbread cake
    Nice, relaxing environment

    Cons:
    Lukewarm coffee
    Dry brownie
Unattentive server--slow to take our order, refill drinks, bring check
No blueberry pie when their special board advertized it
We were not allowed to order the chicken until 5pm.....we ordered at 4:45pm
    Reasonable prices

Do you know what you get when you wake up one hour late on your last morning in San Francisco? A way too long line at the restaurant you /really/ want to eat at. With only an hour or so available to us we ended up at Cafe Divine a little bummed we couldn't stand in line at another reputable breakfast place but still hopeful for a divine breakfast!

We were seated promptly but it took a while for a waiter to wait on us. The menu is small but it has a reasonable amount of interesting options. My mom ended up with the bacon, cheese and scallion waffle. This sounds like the best idea... ever... in the history of breakfast. I order bagels with lox  plus a side of fruit and a vanilla soy chai.

The food comes out fast but my mom gets the wrong order for breakfast. Since they've already put my fruit down in front of me I am mid watermelon in my fingers to my mouth when he picks up all our food and takes it away.  Not just my mom's. I'm curious if the plate I got back five minutes later was the same one or if someone got my fingered watermelon.

My mom's waffle (when she got the right one) was pretty good and very interesting. It was definitely the best meal on the table. My lox and bagels seemed almost old. The lox tasted a bit off and the bagel was cold and hard. They were supposed to come with capers but I had to ask for them. My chai came at least ten minutes after we had started eating and it was almost undrinkable. I left much of that behind as well.

The decor is super cute and the lunch/dinner menu has some really delicious looking and unique options. But as much promise as this restaurant had I felt very disappointed when I left. And a little hungry. In fact I felt many things but hardly divine.

Excellent brunch dishes that are fresh and well done - benedict is wonderful and their homemade cheddar biscuits and scones are perfect.  Atmosphere is great, good service, low-key/relaxing and fantastic coffee/espressos etc.

Don't want to say too much because I want to keep this place on the down low. Especially on Wednesday nights. All I have to say, great service and ambiance.Started with a local favorite of Anchor Steam beer and a Belgian ale. We had the stuffed Pasilla pepper to appetize(recommended by our server) and it was awesome. I had the fish of the day(artic char) again highly recommended by our server. Also ordered was the beef bourbuignonne. The arctic char was presented pleasantly and prepared just right. The beef bourbuignonne was served in a large white shallow bowl. Both dishes were consumed in utter satisfaction. I complimented my fish with chardonnay. Another bonus to our evening was the live music. It was Craig Ventresco and Merideth Axelrod playing early 20th century jazz, and they were awesome. It completed the evening pleasantly. We convinced ourselves for dessert and again we were recommended the gingerbread cake, and it completed a perfect meal with live entertainment. It's a definite must return for this experience.

I wonder how much of their business is directly proportionate to folks fed up with waiting in line for grub at Mama's down the way and just settling for an open table at Cafe Divine? My guess is that it's a pretty large chunk.

While not mind blowing by any means, Cafe Divine does the trick for a nice first meal of the day. Plenty of familiar favorites like scrambles, eggs benny creations, etc... nothing that'll turn heads, but decent fare for sure.

Though I've not been in any other time but breakfast, they apparently have a pretty nice happy hour with inexpensive beer and wine, and they have daily specials that the locals seem to dig. Will have to return and try for myself one of these days!

The food was divine, indeed. I ate my entire manicotti, shamelessly. (I really should have been a little ashamed. It was huge. But I couldn't help it!) It was savory and rich, without being too greasy or saucy or any of those things that make McDonald's fries a guilty pleasure. (Don't judge me.) The lentil soup was a perfect little appetizer and my husband's roast chicken was surprisingly delicious (chicken is always a little disappointing, but in this case it was well-accomplished). And yes, even after all of that, I still managed to dig my grubby little paws into the cappuccino pots de creme... a preposterous, but oh-so-rewarding decision that sent my taste buds and sweet tooth into salivating delirium.

We had a hiccup with the bill, since we had a Travelzoo coupon that they suddenly didn't want to accept... Apparently, the prix-fixe dinner listed on the menu is different than the one for the coupon, although in reality only one of the courses is slightly different (I think it was a lamb entree instead of chicken or something). After some awkward back and forth with the waitress, she consulted the manager  and, eventually, they allowed us to use the coupon... anything else would've honestly been ridiculous, since the coupon does not mention anything about a separate prix-fixe dinner menu or about letting them know before ordering. In any case, all turned out well in the end and, for $25, we had ourselves an absolutely lovely meal.

Our waitress was, even during the final altercation, charming and accommodating, and the venue is very unassuming and cozy, with views of the park and the lively North Beach streets. I think the prix-fixe menu is the best this cafe has to offer and, having experienced it at a heavily discounted rate, don't think I'll necessarily repeat, but I'm extremely glad to have tried it and had myself a wonderful evening and fulfilling meal. I highly recommend the prix-fixe menu if you're in the area and looking for a tasty sit-down dinner without the over-hype and annoying lines!

After bailing out on the ridic Mama's line up the block, Café Divine provided a nice, decent breakfast on the much, much quicker tip - satisfying hungry bellies and averting a mean case of the hangries.

The guy working the door was a little more than frazzled by what was relatively a small waiting list, but the remainder of the service was on point, quick and smiley. The food itself was very quick to arrive, and while satisfying was nothing I would, say, wait in a long line for. My scramble sandwich was somewhat on the bland side, which necessitated the addition of S&P, but I did note that it was much less greasy than your average scramble. Decently healthy, which was a pleasant surprise.

Priced right, not too heavy of a wait on a Saturday, and decent product. A-OK.

Went here for breakfast on a weekend, wasn't too packed around noon. Service was good and friendly but the waffles were not that big and weren't that tasty.

I want this place to be my go-to since I live in the area, but it's just not there. Last time they screwed up my order and let me know like 20 mins after I ordered that they were out... I mean really?! Of course it was one of those nights that I was so starving. I also went there for brunch and thought it was a little over priced for what it was. I think the total came to about 50 bucks for two people, no alcohol. Now if the food had blown my hair back I wouldn't have minded, but it was just so-so.

All in all it's not a bad place, so go see for yourself.

I had mixed feelings about this place after yelping it. BUT it turned out to be a pretty solid breakfast.

I got the "Bennies from Heaven" which was GREAT, but pretty pricey and very filling for breakfast... $13.75.
The turkey sandwich is yummy too.

The one thing I did notice is that the breakfast menu is VERY small.
I don't know if it's how the menu is set up but it was hard to find something I wanted on the menu (hence why I chose something so expensive). But ya, very unlike me since I usually want 5 different things on the menu and can never decide.

    Definitely worth trying!

After a poor experience at nearby restaurant, my party of three came here to have brunch. After waiting 10 minutes, we were seated. It took almost 30 minutes for our food to come out. I didn't think it would take 30 minutes to make some eggs. The poached eggs wasn't as runny as I wouldn't liked. The home-style fries/potatoes were bland and the cheddar biscuit was a bit dry. My friend had the pizza, which he said was ok and it probably was that - just ok.

Overall, I'd stop by another place, or wait it out at Mama's, for brunch.

4 Stars for great food and great service.
1 more Super Star for live music, reasonable prices and great value!

I am typically skeptical trying out any restaurants in the North Beach area as this is the heart of Espresso town.  Restaurants here are better known for their killer coffee / espresso + dessert and not their food ... but Cafe Divine changed all that and impressed me and my party of 6!

Their Prix-Fixe menu is a great deal and half of us ordered that:  Glass of wine (very good) or Dessert + Soup or Salad + Entree for $20.
Half of us ordered the Prix-Fixe and the other half ordered their "Blue Plate Special" and "Fish of the Day".

Everything is yummy!!!  Bread is nice and warm, perfectly salted.  The warm olives that came with the Prix-Fixe are so tasty.

Wait staff have amazing memory (didn't jog down our orders -- you know how that goes, there's typically some hiccups when they do that) but everything came out 100% correct and in the right order / seating.  Everyone is friendly and never missed a beat.

Food came out hot and our favorites were : The Chicken Entree that came with the Prix-Fixe, the Lamb Stew, Salmon, Clam Chowder... again, everything is yummy and nice portions.

To top it off, there's live music (we went on a Sunday night) so that made our dinner so much more nicer and special.

Plus, we were able to just enjoy dinner and don't have to look for another nearby coffee place... we had dessert (killer apple pie, though pricey $9) and our espresso right there after our dinner!!

    We will definitely be back.

Came with a TravelZoo deal for 2 pre fixe dinners.

    Food:

White Bean Soup - Watery and bland
    Salad - Very good

    Roast Chicken - Delicious
Lamb and Lentil Stew - Little bland, but good

Cappuccino Pot De Creme - Huge! Plenty to split and very tasty!.

    Service:

Awful! Once they heard that we told him we had the deal, he was absent. We had to ask twice for water and regular menu. He didn't bother to remember who had what, he placed both dishes on the edge of the table away from us - so rude! We live a block away and I can't imagine coming back. I suppose since they are on Washington Square park, they do not need regulars.
