This is a great alternative to the Hatchery across the street when you are looking for breakfast. It's a little less pricey and has some nice breads and the option of getting "spicey" homefries, and feels like it has a few more locals than the Hatchery. It can feel a little cramped when you first arrive, but it is fine. Be forwarned - no credit cards.

I was in Vermont for the wedding of some friends this weekend. We had breakfast here on Saturday before the festivities got under way. As Brad F. said in his review - the inside was a bit cramped, but it was also super busy so it was understandable. We had to wait a bit for our food (everything is cooked to order) but they made sure to keep our coffee cups full in the meantime.
Breakfast is served all day, and they also do lunch. I had fried eggs with bacon, toast & home fries. The home fries were *awesome*, the eggs & bacon were great as well. I tried some of my bf's chocolate chip pancakes - so yummy, and his sausage was great as well - it came out as a large, flattened patty and was perfectly seasoned.
Some people were there complaining that they'd been there for a half hour & had yet to get their food. This isn't McDonalds, the food hasn't been sitting under heat lamps for hours, it's cooked to order, so be expected to wait, especially on a busy weekend morning. The staff was buzzing around like hummingbirds, they certainly never get a moment rest.
A perfect spot to get breakfast before heading to the slopes at Okemo (the mountain looms in the background). -

Cafe at Delight is a fairly decent small town breakfast/lunch cafe.
The pancakes are huge and filling - and they serve real VT maple syrup, which is a big big plus. I also had a side of sausage, which came as a patty - also quite good. The home fries were pretty much perfect. The coffee served here - while i didn't catch the brand is a clear cut above your standard diner/cafe coffee.
There is indoor and outdoor seating, inside is a little cramped, but that seems to always come with the territory with this sort of place. Outside there are 2-3 picnic tables.
Service is as expected not as fast as a chain - everything is cooked to order, so its well worth the wait. The wait staff make sure my coffee was never empty and were quite nice. -

I was in the area for a spa getaway & headed to downtown Ludlow for breakfast. Cafe at DeLight (the one light in Ludlow, that is) was a pleasant surprise. All food is cooked to order, so I ended up waiting a bit (30 min). But the wait was worth it! My sausage & mushroom omelette was not too dry, not too wet; sausage was flavorful but not overwhelming; and the mushrooms must have been marinated, they were incredible! Price was extremely reasonable (splurge the extra 15 cents for an English muffin), although I'd skip the spicy home fries next time. For diner-type food, this was a win! Don't expect much from the decor, and don't expect to pay with a debit/credit card.

i love small breakfast places. we ordered blueberry pancakes and lovedddd them. we also got omelettes which we all enjoyed. loved the feel of a local breakfast place. i loved that we could see the person cook our food. it was good breakfast food for the price. oh and importantly, the food didn't taste oily and greasy, which can be a problem sometimes with mom&pop places.
