GREAT STAFF + CHEAP DRINKS
The next time someone on the mainland makes some comment about how expensive Hawaii is, I'm going to mention Cafe Anasia. My cuz and I got 3 Stoli sodas and 3 Crown and Cokes and our bill was....
***drum roll***
$26!
Unreal.
That plus cute, friendly servers? This place is a winnah and I haven't even tried the pho yet.
Watched the UFC fight here last night. Fights were "meh", but food and drink here was excellent as usual.
I've been going to this place for years(over 10 now)...and I wil continue to go here for cheap drinks and good food.
The service is always excellent. Great place to watch sports or just drink at the bar.
OK a confession. Chimi likes the booze... a lot. I'm here all the time because they have so many specials. The problem is I can never tell which one is happening at what time. On the wall is a special from 8-12. In bathroom there's a special from 10-1. On table tents you order raspberry vodka drinks for $4. Another poster has the dailys with pitchers ranging from $7-9. On Thursday if you kill an elf you get double hit points, but only if you are a paladin. Dry erase board has more specials. If you play your cards right and learn all the specials, they will end up paying you to drink there.
i initially couldn't stand this place, but because my friends would always go here, i decided to give it a shot. fast forward a few years and i have officially been here wayyyyy too many times. it's my official 'go to' bar. the food is really, really good... and as someone else mentioned, they have pho.. and it's really decent pho at that. also, it's something like $6 for a huge bowl of it. although the atmosphere might seem stale, this place is packed with regulars and the owners/staff are more than amazing. give this place a shot, whether it's for UFC, football, or just food/drinks.. you'll come back again and again.
the common theme amongst us gentlemen is that Anasia has the cutest staff!
There's no reason not to give it 5 stars. If you think about it:
Service - the chicks are awesome. They are nice. They don't care if you're a guy or girl, they're nice to you. They also pool their tips at the end of the night (I don't know what that means exactly, maybe that it's a collective effort and they're not doing it just for the tip??)
Food - they've got pho. How many sports bars do you know of that serve pho? Of course, they also have their typical pupus. The price is VERY reasonable, and might I say, even cheaper than other pho places. Maybe the broth is not as good (kind of watered-down the last time I went but is usually OK) but instead of driving over to Zippy's late at night to sober up why not do it at the same bar you got drunk at ; P
Extra - They have two billiards tables, a basketball game thing, couple videogames, megatouches, some dart boards, nice amount of tvs, and I think some karaoke as well. You can sit at the bar, or in the booth, or in the separate room with the dartboards for groups.
Drinks - best thing about them is their price!!!
So far, this has been a good place to watch the Lakers post-season. I sit down in front of the big screen TV and watch Kobe "MVP" Bryant do his thing. Not too many Laker-haters and not too testoterone-fueled, with real nice waitresses who call me "babe" as in "Here's your beer, babe!" - this is an excellent sports bar for ladies who love the Lakers.
Well I only know a handful of people in Hawaii, but chances are, on any given night of the week, they're at Anasia's tossing around some darts and drinking beer. That makes this place pretty cool as far as I'm concerned :)
Late night Pho and other treats, a few big screen televisions, and cold drinks. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are many dartboards and a few bar sized pool tables. Since this place is near the University, it can get crowded on some nights...nothing is perfect. I enjoy being known there...it's like Cheers! All the regulars are also helpful with the waitresses so drink orders are usually filled quickly.
My only gripe is that they took away the Golden Tee golf game and replaced it with Silver Strike Bowling. I would rather have Golden Tee.
shaka bro' dis place for da homies...good to get away from touristas
my ex-girlfriend goes here a lot with her friends.. she likes to eat pho, drink couple beers, and play darts..i wanna check this place out.
