Review from John N.
Need a great bar to get away from the tourists? Spending some time with friends and trying to make it a blast? Don't want to break your wallet doing so? Look no further. This gem on Beretania is the place.
For as sports bar, this place has got it all. Billiards, darts, tv's playing sports, and enough booths for a large hangout. What sets it apart from other bars is the fact the food is inexpensive, portions are generous, and the drinks are cheap! Don't hesitate to check out their drink specials because those are among the best deals in town.
To top this off, they got this incredible touchscreen jukebox that has an enormous collection of music. Don't be afraid to feed it with some awesome music!
Service is fast, friendly, and attentive. All of them seem to work together as a team to make sure you are helped. Even my water was refilled quickly! -
Review from Robert D.
Good:
Darts and Billiards are awesome here, can't really say that for other sports bars.
They always have ESPN or live games on the TV's so whenever you just feel like kicking back and having a drink there's some form entertainment.
Drink prices are good and the owner is a very nice person, apparently my cousin and his friends come here so much she buy them a round.
Bad:
Parking is kinda hard to find even though you can use the lot next door.
Sometimes it can get a little crowded in here which makes it hard to move around or even find a seat for that matter.
OMGWTF:
Toma's is right next door and last time I was here someone ran out of Toma's puked right by me and got some of that shit on my jeans. First off, that's f**king gross, secondly lucky I didn't punch the @$$hole out those were new freaking jeans. -

Came here with my friend to say happy bday to his friend. The friend and group was running late so we hung around and drank some beers til they arrived and eventually shots in the room they reserved. They got darts, pool, of course a bar, and a section of tables to sit and chill/eat.
The restrooms are shared by fe/male, 2 restrooms. -

Cheap beers, good food, GREAT service and very clean restrooms. Workers there are all on top of their game when it comes to persistency. Daily specials every day of the week!
TUESDAY-THURSDAY 5 dollar domestic pitchers from 5-8 and also a 5 dollar pupu menu.
Salt pepper shrimp, salt pepper pork chop and salt pepper octopus is winnahz. Chinese chef so braddah man knows what he's doing back there. -
Review from Jhoren C.
OMG their Kimchee Fried rice was pretty tasty! could be a bit more spicy but other than that it was a hit! and the portions was huge. it satisfied both mine and my boyfriends tummy!
Garlic fries, let's just say I've experienced better! but again the portions were generous.
Calamari: this too was just alright, nothing great about it and it was actually kinda soggy, should've been fried a little more but the bf liked it and ate it all
Service: there were 3 waitress helping us and all 3 were very nice always checking up on us, except towards the end were we waited a good 10 miuntes to get our tab and have them bring it back.
I noticed mon-sunday they've always got draft/beer specials lined up so if you're ever in the area and looking for good bar food and drinks you might wanna hit this place up! -

I've never even heard of this place until my boyfriends moms friend said he had a pool tournament there and wanted us to go and watch. The place is tiny! Parking sucks. We had to park down the street and walk.
It's not too loud as I expected. Drinks were fairly priced for non happy hour. I got drunk pretty quickly there lol and then I ordered kalua pig nachos which was delicious!!
Waitresses were friendly. -

I could have sworn this place was open in the 90s, but Hae Young said not. Beer and ice, just like a local dive bar should be. Pool, darts, karoake, tvs with sports, ono grindz, but i can't ever remember what I ate.

Waitresses are always super friendly. Parking is kinda nutz, but what do you expect ovahere?!?!?Listed in: Hawaii dining

Review from Keane S.

Despite numerous friends going to eat or drink at Anasia and despite knowing 2-3 waitresses who have worked there as well, somehow it took me forever to finally try the place.
I usually head out to random places to eat with my coworker on Sundays, she's my Sunday wife, I'm her Sunday husband, we like food -- It works haha.
Anyway on to Anasia, pretty large place when we walked in bigger than expected and actually pretty decently crowded for a Sunday night too. A friend of my coworker mentioned that they have dart tournaments on Sundays so that's why there were so many people in there -- good idea to get some people in.
----- SERVICE -----
When we first sat down we got greeted pretty quickly and our first round of drinks came very fast. Our waitress was friendly, no complaints there, towards the end we waiting a little longer to be checked up on but we we're having a mellow night, drinking slow and a few other tables came in so it was completely understandable. So I'd say service was fine, not outstanding but not bad.
----- FOOD & DRINK -----
We were pretty excited to try some things on the menu after hearing good things about Anasia's food from yelp and friends. We opted for Agedashi Tofu, Miso Ramen and the Vietnamese style Pork Chops.
The Porkchops were ok, the asian slaw was good but the chops were a little dry and just average really.
The Miso Ramen had an odd flavor to the broth, usually when I think of Miso I would think of something more on the salty side but packed with flavor, this particular broth was much more on the watery side.
Agedashi Tofu was good, generous portion I think we had 6 pieces? The broth was good, they sprinkled cut seaweed on top too which I thought added good flavor.
They seem to have a good selection of drinks and specials, we even saw a little sign saying $1 Shots but it was a little hidden so we weren't sure if that's every night or just certain nights haha, imagine getting drunk for $10 -- probably not a good idea but interesting. They had a $2 jello shot as well but we didn't try that one.
-----OVERALL-----
That same guy who mentioned the darts also mentioned that the food used to be super good but they changed over chefs. Hilariously enough he actually said "I eat before I come", which I suppose speaks to where the menu is at now compared to before.
Seems like a cool bar to hang out with friends and have a few drinks and I'd still be interested to try more things on the menu however our initial experience was "meh so so" in every sense of the phrase. -
Review from Murray B.
Cafe Anasia is a cool place. It's clean, not the least bit pretentious and also has some of that dive bar feel to it. We went there on Saturday afternoon to watch some NFL.
They have pitchers of beer (mostly domestic), bottled beer and cocktails. There might be wine but I didn't notice. As far as seating, you can sit at the bar or in a booth. You don't feel like watching the game? No problem. They have pool tables, darts and...(drum roll;one of my personal favorites) a bar basketball game! You want some local flavor? We saw a guy rocking headphones and a santa hat. Apparently some people celebrate xmas all the way into the middle of January.
While the kitchen wasn't open during during our afternoon visit, I was surprised by the variety of food items on the menu. The bartender recommended the wings. She also supplied us with bar snacks (peanuts and popcorn). Although I suspect it gets busier at night and for UH football games, it was remarkably mellow for a playoff game. We could get drinks almost instantaneously. And last but not least. They have a tiny parking lot right in front with roughly 6-8 spaces. Hope you're feeling lucky when you go! -

Anasia is a chill local dive bar. It's a good spot to drink pitchers of beer with your friends. They have daily drink specials as well. The night we went, the special was Patron shots, so we got a round of those.
There is plenty of seating and there are a bunch of flat screens on the walls playing sports. They also have pool tables and darts to keep you entertained.
The waitresses were nice and always came around to see if we needed anything.
If you are looking for an unpretentious place to hang out with your friends away from the tourists, then this is a good place to check out. -
Review from Cin T.
It's a sad day. I just found out that Chef Shane's last day at Anasia is Saturday April 30th - that's tomorrow! He's closing up his kitchen, no word as to where his next place will be. I wonder if there will be anyone serving up food after he's gone. It won't be the same without his delicious recipes. I'm really going to miss the Sizzling Wafu Steak and homemade Kalua Pork Nachos *sobs*

So this place is like, 2 minutes away from where I work, and the ideal spot for the coworkers and I to chill and drink off the horrible nights on the job, since it is open until 2AM =). They also have dart boards and pool tables if you don't want to just drink and eat! So first of all, the food is pretty cheap if you're hungry. For our table, we ordered the karaage, the vegetable plate, the fries, the sliders, and honestly...I don't really remember, because everyone was more concentrating on the drinking. They always have different specials for each day, and on the particular day we went, I believe it was a special for the pitcher of Stella. Cheap drinks, for a huge group of people...you can't beat that at all! The service was spot on too, with the waitresses always checking up on us to see if we needed more drinks as the alcohol quantities went down on the table. But yes, check out this place on different nights, since each night comes with a different, but awesome special that you can't resist!

Alright, so I decided to scout this place to see if this was a good place to eat/chill/whateverthecrap with my friends and I didn't think it was too bad.
When I drove into the parking lot my first thought was what the %&$#.... because the parking lot was small and packed. Had to reverse back into the street. I wasn't too sure where to park and I was kind of egar to eat, so I said screw it and parked at longs. I later found out that YOU SHOULD PARK IN ONE OF THE PARKING LOTS THAT ARE ON THE BLOCK BEFORE ANASIA CAFE.
Just a heads up. I know how it feels when you want to check something out but people fail to mention that parking sucks and you end up hopelessly driving your stupid hungry self around looking for a little spot on the god forsaken asphalt to park your damn car.
Parking - blah.
Anyways, so the food part. I ordered the honey garlic chicken (or something like that) and I thought it was alright. $9 for the plate + $2 more for a scoop of mac salad and rice. I didn't want the mac salad though so they just gave me an extra scoop of rice. I would have liked to try more of their food, but unfortunately like most of you I can only eat so much in one sitting.
Food - Pretty satisfied.
Anasia Cafe is a sports bar, so like any other sports bar there are TVs hooked up around the seating areas and the pool table. Nothing fancy and nothing shabby. Nothing wrong there.
What I really liked about Anasia was that it was that more locals hung out there. I kind of only cruised in Waikiki before where everywhere I go there are tourists so this was a nice change. Also, the wait staff seemed pretty cool. Friendly and fun to talk to.
Overall I was happy with what I experienced here. I wasn't expecting anything amazing, so what I got was just fine. -

Anasia's pretty good. It's a cool, chill place to hang out at AND it's super-dee-duper close to where I live. Me and a friend went there to chill since it was only 9 o'clock. So what the hell? Play some darts and maybe even some pool right?
Anyways we got here and I met some people my friend knew. Chilled there with her friends, I find out that one of the people she knows, knows me. Played some darts which was super fun (GO TEAM BELLY), got some drinks, saw a few of my friends, listened to a guy sing "I swear" by "All 4 One" and yeah he made me not like that song anymore hahaha.
Anyways i can rant on and on about what happened at Anasia but to get to the point, Anasia is a cool bar, very down to earth. A place where you can TRY to sing songs, play darts and pool, or just chill with your buddies and have a drink.

I have the most check-ins at Cafe Anasia on my nonexistent (the boy's) iPhone Yelp! app. I think it's fitting I now write a review.
Boy loves it here because he has his beer pitchers, pool tables, and dart boards. It's his watering hole along with all the other local Asian college students. It's a very chill environment.
Kalua pork nachos are the way to go as well as their slider sampler. Service is normally good.
Getting tipsy and the urge to sing is coming out?? No need to head over to Tomo's next door, they have karaoke at Anasia's! Can this place get any better???Listed in: My Faves

GREAT STAFF + CHEAP DRINKS
The next time someone on the mainland makes some comment about how expensive Hawaii is, I'm going to mention Cafe Anasia. My cuz and I got 3 Stoli sodas and 3 Crown and Cokes and our bill was....
***drum roll***
$26!
Unreal.
That plus cute, friendly servers? This place is a winnah and I haven't even tried the pho yet. -

staff - very friendly!

There's no reason not to give it 5 stars. If you think about it:
Service - the chicks are awesome. They are nice. They don't care if you're a guy or girl, they're nice to you. They also pool their tips at the end of the night (I don't know what that means exactly, maybe that it's a collective effort and they're not doing it just for the tip??)
Food - they've got pho. How many sports bars do you know of that serve pho? Of course, they also have their typical pupus. The price is VERY reasonable, and might I say, even cheaper than other pho places. Maybe the broth is not as good (kind of watered-down the last time I went but is usually OK) but instead of driving over to Zippy's late at night to sober up why not do it at the same bar you got drunk at ; P
Extra - They have two billiards tables, a basketball game thing, couple videogames, megatouches, some dart boards, nice amount of tvs, and I think some karaoke as well. You can sit at the bar, or in the booth, or in the separate room with the dartboards for groups.
Drinks - best thing about them is their price!!! -

second time i've been here but the first time i had the food! although i was the only one hungry at the time because i just got off of work, i was so glad that their kitchen closed at 1 am on a sunday!! it wasn't too crowded so that was a big plus for us. although it did take a while for the server to get to us i wasn't sweating it. the bartender acknowledged us before the server but at least she was keeping an eye on us. i made my friend go up to the server to try to get some food before the kitchen closed because i thought they closed at 12. i got the last pho and it was SOO yum! maybe it was the bottom of the pot but i don't care cause it was the best pho i've had in a long time. the garlic fries were really good too! although i had a couple that were ooovvercooked. i love coming here and will def come again. all in all, great food, good service, and a late night kitchen. LOVE IT!

anasias has come to be kind of a "comfort zone" for me now. i love staff (well most of them anyway), i love love love the food (especially the furikake salmon with crack sprinkled sauce), and i loooooove the prices (who can go wrong with cheap drinks?)!!! alright, so it IS a guy's bar (meaning not so up there in chicness) but who cares? they have a jukebox, basketball shooting game, pool, darts, and megatouch! they also regularly show the fights there.
i just wish it wasn't such a sausage-fest all the time and that the guys would put the gosh darn seat down after they use both community toilets!!!Listed in: bars! bars! bars!, fans unite!

So far, this has been a good place to watch the Lakers post-season. I sit down in front of the big screen TV and watch Kobe "MVP" Bryant do his thing. Not too many Laker-haters and not too testoterone-fueled, with real nice waitresses who call me "babe" as in "Here's your beer, babe!" - this is an excellent sports bar for ladies who love the Lakers.

Well I only know a handful of people in Hawaii, but chances are, on any given night of the week, they're at Anasia's tossing around some darts and drinking beer. That makes this place pretty cool as far as I'm concerned :)

Late night Pho and other treats, a few big screen televisions, and cold drinks. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are many dartboards and a few bar sized pool tables. Since this place is near the University, it can get crowded on some nights...nothing is perfect. I enjoy being known there...it's like Cheers! All the regulars are also helpful with the waitresses so drink orders are usually filled quickly.
My only gripe is that they took away the Golden Tee golf game and replaced it with Silver Strike Bowling. I would rather have Golden Tee. -

This place is the best! Great service and affordable prices. The customers are civil as well, not the usual drunk and overly belligerent behaviors seen. The pool table is also fun to be around. Great place and miss it! I wish Seattle had this!

Watched the UFC fight here last night. Fights were "meh", but food and drink here was excellent as usual.

The service is always excellent. Great place to watch sports or just drink at the bar. -

i initially couldn't stand this place, but because my friends would always go here, i decided to give it a shot. fast forward a few years and i have officially been here wayyyyy too many times. it's my official 'go to' bar. the food is really, really good... and as someone else mentioned, they have pho.. and it's really decent pho at that. also, it's something like $6 for a huge bowl of it. although the atmosphere might seem stale, this place is packed with regulars and the owners/staff are more than amazing. give this place a shot, whether it's for UFC, football, or just food/drinks.. you'll come back again and again.
