Review from Karen F.
It's OK - the one in Doylestown (not the same owners - at least i don't think so...) is better. Allessio had italian sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes. It is right on 611 and the traffic to get in & out can be tricky.
It's really not that good. It's also quite affordable.
Sorry. -

What a great property and promise for good food. Unfortunately, the Italian food is underwhelming. The sushi is the best of their offerings.
This was a good place 2 years ago. Something has changed. -

This will NOT be a place we'll be going back to..... The focaccia bread served is BORING - no taste. A waste of calories. I tried the crab-bacon bisque based on other reviews - It tasted like bland potato soup wtih a clump of cold crab meat tossed in the middle. The salad was served with roasted peppers that were spoiled (acidic & gross). Greens were fresh but they plop HOT toppings on top of a cold salad - NOT a good combo. Penne puttanesca was flavorless & after using an ABUNDANCE of salt still was BLAH. Do yourself a favor & skip this place - there are too many other GOOD places to go. The service was sucky too - the waitress was nice & friendly but service was very slooooooow.

If this place would serve ONLY appetizers and desserts it would be 4/5 stars. Not 5/5 for the poor service and rude waitstaff.
The appetizers were good, not great. I liked the eggplant rollatini, but it almost tasted like I could have gotten it from a microwavable meal made by Stouffer's - but it was still yummy. My fellow diners really liked the crab salsa and buffalo shrimp.
The dishes were terrible. No one liked theirs. Every single sauce was very watery and the pasta was overcooked. Apparently the veal was OK, and the tortellini with bacon and red peppers was slightly better. My vodka sauce was a pathetic attempt, and the chicken was not quality (I had more than one piece of tough meat with tendons or something in it) - did I also mention that the dish was more than $14? No one was satisfied, especially considering the prices.
The desserts were very good. Everyone liked theirs - the tiramisu was very good and the cannolis were too.
Also, it's a terrible location. Good luck getting out of that parking lot! And finally, the woman serving us was very rude in the beginning, and then someone in my party asked her to describe a dish which she did ambiguously and insisted that EVERYTHING on the menu was amazing. Now I know you work here, but I like it when staffers actually tell the truth - it shows that the place isn't desperate for business. The seats were also not very comfortable.
Definitely skip this place unless you enjoy watery sauces, overcooked pasta, and overly Americanized pseudo-Italian cuisine. Perhaps the other Cafe Alessio in Doylestown is worth a shot. -

Food at Cafe Alessio (Doylestown) is better than the service. But not good enough to over come the slow service. You will grow old waiting for your food after you order. They offer a bizarre mix of Italian food and Sushi. There is outdoor seating if you want to sit outside in a cafe-like setting.
