BEST LAMB CHOP I'VE EVER HAD.  And it's very consistent, because every time I eat here the lamb chop is cooked to perfection in a delicious pan lamb jous sauce.  Overall my husband and my meal was absolutely amazing.  We started with a cheese course, with a soft cow's cheese and a semi-hard goat cheese.  They served it with grapes, figs, honey, almonds, and crasins.  It was a wonderful way to start the meal!  For appetizers I had hand made parpadelle pasta and my husband had tomato tartar.  Both were light and exquisite.  For the main course I had the lamb chops which are HEAVENLY.  I would highly recommend it to any meat lover!  My husband had the filet, which he very much enjoyed.  I didn't try his filet because I was too enthralled with my lamb.  For dessert we had the chocolate mousse.  I'm normally not a huge mousse fan because the texture becomes monotonous after a while, but their mouse was scrumptious!  The chocolate mouse was served with this crispy chocolate/sugar cookie/wafer things, so it gave the dessert a glorious texture.  I really cannot wait to go back!

The only time I've gone to Cafe on the Green has been for Sunday Brunch. It's pricey ($40 a person) but the food is good. They have an omelette station, bacon, sausage, sushi, pasta, salmon and an assortment of desserts. The brunch offers complimentary champagne and mimosas but don't expect to get more than one. On several occasions I've asked for a 2nd mimosa and IF I got it, it took 10 minutes or more. I've started ordering 2 (one for myself and one for my husband who doesn't drink mimosas) to combat this.
The restaurant is right by the pool grounds which are beautiful. If you are looking for an upscale Sunday brunch alternative, Cafe on the Green is perfect.

The meal we had at the Cafe on the Green was a memorable one and we couldn't be happier to end our week feasting over their new spring menu and recieving world class service. The Four Seasons is one of those resorts where you just know you're going to be taken care of - the staff address you by name, there's always people making sure you have what you need and are happy - its just a completely different caliber than other 5 star hotels which focus more so on luxury rather than service...and the Four Seasons has an equal balance of both.

I ordered the Branzini, which is a type of Mediterrean sea bass - incredibly delicious and my husband ordered a rib eye. For dessert, my husband had the creme brulee - and it was seriously the most ingenious, creative display of creme brulee we've ever seen! It's stacked on phyllo dough so there's crispiness all around but the center is a dense and rich creme....i had the carrott cake which came with a dollop of cream cheese ice cream. Again, really good food.

So you get the best of both worlds here - outstanding service and incredible food. It's worth every penny!

Ok, I am biased. I come here quite often. Specifically for this review I am going to highlight 2 brunches. First the Christmas Day brunch - an absolute blow out. Amazing food in amazing quantities! We went with a large group of friends and had the best time imaginable. A wide assortment of breakfast and lunch items - and surprisingly, for a buffet, great eggs benedict. Excellent service - an all around great (but rather pricy) time.
More recently a regular Sunday brunch - again very high quality. Oh and there is a dessert room, where the very talented Chef Gehman produces an assortment of to die for desserts, pastries, and other delicious things. Life is short, eat dessert first, in the middle and at the end!
Again a nice mixture of foods - from bacon and other breakfast things through sushi to roast meats and then dessert. Ahhh yes.
Full disclosure, I have got to know several of the people who work here, so may get special service, but frankly I don't think so.

My family and I ate here for brunch on Christmas day and it was "ok." I was disappointed because we'd eaten at the Four Seasons Houston for Thanksgiving and had one of the best meals of our lives. It simply wasn't so at Cafe on the Green.

The area they had the brunch set up in was too small. The dishes were crammed together, there wasn't a clear direction for foot traffic to proceed, and people were constantly having to dance around each other exchanging apologies.

The selection was ok. There were some rather delicious items--the lamb and turkey were perfection, the tortellini and duck were divine. The oyster I had was past its prime and the salmon ravioli was hard. The dessert was pretty awesome. All the dessert servings could be had in 5 bites or less. My fave was these spice cakes with a cranberry compote--easily one of the best flavor combinations ever to enter my mouth.

It was fun to eat here, but for the price I wouldn't do it again. Three stars.

I went here for my grandmother's birthday this past weekend for brunch with the family.  Cafe on the Green definitely met and exceeded all my expectations.  While a bit pricey at about $40.00 per person for adults, the brunch menu is filled with some really good items.  The shrimp cocktail and crab legs were delicious.  The shrimp were not watered down like at other buffets.  They had some nice breakfast type items such as a made to order omelette station, yummy berry and walnut french toast, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc...

In addition to that, they offered tortilla soup that was reminiscent of the famous tortilla soup at the Mermaid Cafe at Neiman Marcus along with a made to order salad station.  I was too stuffed to try the prime rib myself but my husband said it was very good as well.  What Cafe on the Green has that not many brunches in the area have is a whole room, yes a whole room dedicated to desserts and pastries.  The brunch also featured mimosas which were quite good.

Cafe on the Green definitely lives up to the luxurious Four Seasons name.  It was definitely worth the $40.00 per person and I'm counting the days I go back for another Sunday brunch.

4 of us went for brunch and the buffet was delicious. Ample variety, lots of fresh options, tasty omelets made to order and beautifully presented. We sat in the atrium area overlooking the manicured grounds - very nice. BUT! Service was a big disappointment.
We were celebrating an event which I had made mgmt aware of when I booked the reservation a month ago. Our waitress, who was inattentive at best throughout the meal, stopped us on our way out to remind us of our celebration and handed a box of handmade chocolates to us. Perfect, since we can't enjoy them at our table now, let's see how far they make it in the car with it 106 degrees out. Not only did she deprive us of the opportunity of celebrating our guest's achievement by presenting this to us at the exit, but the "gift" was an inedible mess within 10 minutes. There are plenty of high-end options in the area and we'll choose one of those next time for our celebration. Recommend others do so as well.

Food - Good but not memorable. We started with the ahi tuna and crab cakes; the ahi tuna was bland and the crab cakes were average. I will give them points in that the crab cakes had little filler but were still not very special. For entrees we had the scallops and blackened cod; again both were good but nothing special. We finished the evening with their version of the chocolate bomb cake; good presentation, the espresso ice cream was nice and strong, the chocolate bomb was typical.

Atmosphere - The Cafe on the Green is a typically hotel one stop restaurant. For some reason the two times that I have gone, both with reservations made well in advance I have been sat close to the entry.

Service - This is the one area that Cafe on the Green and the Four Seasons in general excels, service. The entire staff at Cafe on the Green is very pleasant, timely and professional.

I'm here for work and I've got to eat, of course.  In fact, when traveling for work, a particularly special meal can turn an otherwise blah, yet breathtakingly busy day into a memorable moment.

Cafe on the Green fits in the memorable category.  Being the Four Seasons, service is stellar - everyone addresses you by name, watches (but not too much) to be sure you are comfortable, have every convenience, and are satisfied every step 'o the way.

The food - I started with the Crispy Calamari.  It arrived on a pile of greens tossed in an orange sweet chili vinaigrette.  The calamari was even more cozy inside a generous swirl of basil pesto aioli.  This was perhaps the best calamari I've ever consumed.  No thin tough squid tendrils here.  Instead, perfectly cooked nuggets of calamari juiciness juxtaposed with the hot chili, sweet orange nectar and fresh earthy basil.

For dinner - it's my first day in Texas - that means beef!  A nice thick slab of prime rib-eye steak.  Perfectly seared to medium-rare and accompanied with a roasted tomato + baby brussels sprouts with bacon.  The accompanying house-made sauces were the only slight disappointment.  In fairness, I like my steak plain.  But I gave each choice a try--Chimichurri which was primarily sun-dried tomatoes (meh), steak sauce (beats A-1 but still, meh), and a pepper sauce that just struck me as odd.

Dessert - I was too stuffed, but along with the check came this nice assortment of little chocolates to take my mind off the amount of money I had just--consumed?  Was it worth it?  Methinks-----Yes!

One last thing, were you wondering about the decor/ambience?  It's a round room with floor to ceiling windows that look over the championship golf course.  At night, the lights are low, it feels warm, comfy and an awful lot like any other high-end hotel restaurant in any US city.

We went here for lunch today and truly enjoyed the lunch buffet.  Everything I tasted was delicious!  Our visit started off on the wrong foot as it took forever to get helped, but they quickly made up for it and we enjoyed our visit.

I've been here on two occasions, once for the breakfast buffet, once for the lunch.  More than anything I'd say the cuisine is eclectic, perfectly fitting for hotel fare.  Though nothing is too special here, the offerings are pretty creative and tasty.  The salads in the center are pretty fun with things such as beet coleslaw, various chicken salads, and more.  The entrees such as blintzes are pretty well done, though they are a bit sweet.  Coconut fried shrimp and hanger steak were awesome, and ethnic chicken dishes are a plus.  Overall, a great hotel buffet with some out of the ordinary offerings.  Desserts are heavy on the chocolate; this is always a good thing.  Definitely reasonable, as you can sample many of the chef's specialties at a decent price.
