Hearing about the $10.95 early bird special was just what I needed to get my gray-looking car back to its original black. Yes, my car was that dirty. It'd been months since the last cleaning, mostly due to budgetary reasons but also just plain laziness.
So today I took advantage of their $10.95 early bird special available Mon-Fri 7-10am, which includes wash exterior, hand dry, vacuum interior, clean windows inside & out, and dust dash, doors, & console. I arrived 9am and couldn't believe how many cars were already there - I counted at least 13. I asked one of the guys about the wait and he said 25 minutes - I was thinking some of that time would be spent just waiting for all the cars in front of me but my car spent the entire 25 minutes being cleaned. I watched my car go thru the conveyor belt car wash and then I moved over to the large windows in the waiting room that give customers full view of everyone's cars getting cleaned & vacuumed. What a great accountability system :)
I also checked out their spacious waiting area - nice flat screen TV, magazines, lots of seating, coffee bar & snacks, and computers (except I think only 2 of the 6 were working). I saw several customers on laptops so I'm guessing this place also has free WIFI.
And the final results? I don't think I'd ever seen my car so sparkling clean, inside & out. They also did a fabulous job cleaning my dirty windows - it was like seeing 20/20 again for the first time. Honestly they did a super job making my car look brand-new again. I'll definitely be back.
This place rocks..attention to detail and you can check your e-mail on a full size computer screen while you wait. The Buckhead location has a bit of tight squeez getting in and out but convienant location for a car wash.have not had a detail from them yet but price seem competitive.
I think cactus car was is great. Even when it is super busy you get in and out quickly. And it is good people watching. I like to play the game "who owns that car" to pass the wait.
They once damage the front bumper of my car when they rear ended the car infront of mine. They replaced my bumper (I have a land rover and it is not cheap) at buckhead collission right next door. I thought it was excellent service.
My only complaint is that when you are asking for what service you would like, they always try to upsell you on extras and don't tell you how much they are. Also they do not list the least expensive wash which is 12.95.
I just had to write an update after getting the email report of my "turn in" assessment for my car.
OH MY GOOD GREAT CACTUS!!!
I only owe Mercedes $21.60 - yep, you read that right - to turn in my car. And that "chargeable" amount, as they call it (they split them up into chargeable and non-chargeable) is for a cracked front/side safety light; I hadn't even noticed it. NOTHING for cosmetic wear and tear. And I'm the girl who probably got her car washed, oh, every six or nine months, and never got it detailed in three years!
My mouth dropped open when I opened the email report today, but if I wasn't convinced before now I know for sure: Cactus's detail shop is tops in my book!!!

Let me preface my review by saying two things: I have a nearly pathological dislike for taking my… Read more »
Cactus car wash is awesome! The only complaint I have is that the chicks at the registers are always bitchy. Every time I'm up there, they just look at me. They don't really ask for the receipt so I can pay. No thank you's, no smile. The times I see the two chicks smiling and laughing are when men are in their presence.
Overall, this IS where I take my car to get washed. They do a great job and the guys and gals who dry off my car are always super nice! There's 4 internet computers and a huge waiting area. I prefer standing out front and watching new cars pull up... especially the expensive ones.
I prefer washing my own car but that hasn't happened in at least two years now. And suddenly this a.m. while driving to work, the multiple layers of dust and grim and the bug guts and the smell of Martinez's stinky farts embedded in my passenger seat and the fossilized Skittles and McDonald's french fries I dropped beside my seat last Juvember....it was all just too much for me to bear. So I went to Cactus, spent $65 on a "mini detail" and now my shit looks shiny and new again!
Wait....make that shiny and clean with lots of dents and a hole in the front bumper.
But seriously, in 30 minutes they cleaned and polished and waxed and shined every nook and cranny inside and outside of my disgustingly dirty vehicle. They did almost as good as I would do if I had, say....
3 or 4 hours of free time, access to a place suitable for car washing, a bucket, a water hose connected to a working spigot, a giant spongy thing, car wash soap, tire cleaner, a vacuum cleaner, canned air, various sized brushes, a box of Q-tips, a bottle of Windex, a roll of paper towels, vinyl surface protector, microfiber towels, car wax, a sponge or whatever you use to apply wax, a ratty/slutty-looking car wash outfit, etc.
Cactus' service was worth every penny to me b/c except for the slutty outfit, I'm fresh out of car wash supplies
So my dog throws up in my car....I clean it up but there is some residue left over...just dog food..she gets motion sickness...Bring it to Cactus...this is one of the reasons you go to a car wash...Anyway, get the $17 wash and clean.....I wait 15 minutes and then suddenly they come looking for me. They say we can't clean your seats because there are bodily fluids in the car...Are these guys kidding...Its a little dog puke...UGH...Love that they call it bodily fluids...Like I am driving around hospital patients....well, they say they can't clean it unless I want to pay $39 for seat details or get it fully detailed for $100...well this is ridiculous....I can see for myself that this is not a difficult clean up. I live in a condo so don't have a place to do it...
Anyway, I say ok, don't wipe it...just vacuum it...Nope, can't do that either...Are they kiddding????
Anyway, I ask for my money back..drive down the street to a gas station...spend 5 minutes vacuuming and 5 minutes wiping it up and WaaaLaa...its clean....leather seats don't need to be detailed from some silly dog puke...
Anyway, I am so unhappy with them...they wanted to get a lot of money out of me for nothing...I will not go back ever again and plan on spreading the word about there lack of customer service
Love my white car, hate the dirt.
If you're like me and grew up in sub-zero temps washing your car in 90+ temps is not an option. Save your arm, save your time, save yourself and take your car to the cactus car wash.
The pros: hand detailing, recycled water, awesome waiting area, and you're in and out in less than 20 minutes EVEN on the 1st sunny day in 30 days, it's less than $20 w/tip.
The cons: I have dual exhaust pipes and it is a haven for dirt. They never seem to wipe underneath them, and I always have to point it out. On the flip side - they let you point it out and correct it. As well, no matter how many times they wipe the driver's side window it always manages to have some water streaks when I leave.
Overall - this is the only place I will take my car to be washed.
I have a general dislike of car washes for personal reasons some of you may know, but this one is awesome. I have never washed my car in the past 10 years I have been living in Atlanta thanks to Cactus. I am too picky of a Virgo to let anyone do the interior but myself, but the exterior wash with a tire shine rocks! My car comes out looking brand new everytime for about eight bucks! woo hoo!
The frugal side of me would much more prefer to go to a do-it-yourself car wash for $5.00. A $18.00 car wash and up is a little to pricey to make my car loo all shiny and new.
However, I must admit, the hard workers of Cactus Car wash can put a mean buff shine into a car! This location is much more quick than the one on Ponce De Leon, I'm usually in and out in 10 minutes or so.
The only down fall, they are some what skimpy on the tire shine, if you have big SUV tires like I do. This is definitely a place I go to once in a blue moon if you are pinching pennies.
I'm one of those people who hates to wash their car by hand. I actually only tried it twice. It just doesn't work I cant think of washing anything with cold water let alone my car and I have never been able to get it as clean as they can. Cactus is my favorite car wash in Atlanta. I like being able to hang out and surf the net while I am waiting. The staff is very friendly and it is a fun place to people watch. You see the strangest people driving the strangest cars. I highly reccomend this location for your next car wash.
I'm one of those people that likes to wash and wax their car themselves. I like to make sure I'm getting all the dirt off and put on tire shine at the end and use GS27 to get the paint off that inconsiderate parking lot neighbors leave behind. In the winter time, however, I won't let water touch my skin while outdoors, so I'm forced to go to a car wash and I've been going here regularly since the drought. At Cactus, I prefer the "Express Wash." This is where you get to sit in your car yourself all the way through the carwash and then pull your car up for them to dry it. It's definitely the most fun option on the carwash menu anyway. This is not the best carwash I've ever been to, but it's the cheapest choice I have during the winter and the drought. I will say that I liked it a lot better and could tolerate the poor quality more easily when it was $4.95, before they raised it to $5.95. (This is the reason for 3 vs. 4 stars.) But $5.95 still beats chapped hands and a water ban ticket.
