I'm rarely in Port Richmond since I'm lazy and I almost never drive anymore.  Still, when we threw a Superbowl party it was a no-brainer.  500 wings from Byrne's + 4 pizzas from Gianfranco's = 30 happy campers.

My number-one, all-time favorite bar dinner.   Wings, potato logs, extra blue cheese, draft beers for $2.25..... Byrne's is the ultimate neighborhood bar.  Real life here... even the slumming hipsters can't wreck it.  Boys, this is a good test for girlfriend candidates.  If she's too cool for Byrne's, say goodbye... and hello to your own bowl of wings.

Love the hot wings, logs and hot pork sandwichs.  The staff is awesome Joanne & Roxanne Rock.  Frank is the Best!

Great bar food and casual pub grub.  Tons of off street parking makes it worth the trip.  20 Oz Guiness with a shamrock dripped into the foam, a novelty in USA but typical of Ireland...nice touch.  Real neighborhood joint - kind of like Cheers where people talk to you-and the waitresses are great - seem to be having a lot of fun.  On a recent Sat nite visit - the bartender greeted a newbie with  - "What are you smilin' about?"  Great icebreaker ! TAsty crabs in season but i like the home made kielbassi (spelling?).  We played Quizzo there one Wed nite- gets very competitive between the river rat locals and the center city snots who act like they're slumming - the Quizzo dude is real miserable probably cause he is the only sober one in the place and takes it seriously - we caught him with some obvious errors but no blood was shed. Smallest ladies room in the world and the men's room has a glass door so dont turn sideways, guys! Locals are serious sports, Jeopardy and Millionaire watchers.  I have a feeling some serious wagering is happening.
