2 reviews for Bynum's Steakhouse
Went here for my honey's birthday. He's a huge fan of prime rib, but we didn't want to spend a fortune for St. Elmo's or Mo's. Bynum's came up on Gyots's 10 best list of steakhouses in the Indy area, so we decided to give it a try.
The decor is western - lots of dark wood, nevermind the gigantic plastic cows outside haha. We were promptly seated (we had a reservation but they weren't busy). The waitress brought us a pitcher of iced tea when we both ordered it. That's a huge plus in my book - it seems like we're always waiting for refills.
When you order an entree, it comes with onion soup, house salad and a side of baked potato, rice or fries. We ordered the blooming onion type appetizer. It was wayyyy too much food.
I had the regular cut filet and it was pretty tasty, although I didn't eat much because I was so stuffed. I'm not a big prime rib eater, but my fiance said it was fantastic. It's huge too - like 32oz or something.
I tried their Chocolate Suicide dessert and he got a complementary cheesecake since it was his birthday.
Best part - total bill was $81. That would be just two steak, nothing else, at Morton's or something equivalent.
We definitely enjoyed the dinner. Our waitress was attentive, the food was good, the price was perfect. Definitely a good choice.
I have been to a variety of Steak places in Indianapolis and I really like Bynum's. For the money, I think it is prolly the best steakhouse in all of Indianapolis. The uncomfortable feeling associated with places where the waiters dress better then you wasn't there. You don't feel odd ordering a beer [or three] with your meal.
The cows are almost signature to this place and make it readily identifiable.
