I frequent Santa Ynez once or twice a year, and I absolutely love this winery: not necessarily for the quality of the wine, but because i always feel so welcome and the pourers are never pretentious like at Bridlewood or other boutique wine tasting rooms.

This place is always bright and airy. One time i came here during strawberry season, and they had set up tables in the back patio to pour wine flights, and had complimentary plates of succulent, organic strawberries and chips w/ homemade dipping sauces and salsas. All to die for.

The backyard/patio is very nice with tons of plants and tables to sit at.

I feel bad because my 8 friends and I caused a scene outside the cute little winery. We started bumpin' Pussycat Dolls from our rented SUV, and let's just say...a few of us were photographed dancing on top of the car by random strangers. We definitely left a dent on that thing, and an impression on that winery!

The wines themselves are mostly mixed varieties. merlot + cab + syrah or grenache. I've had much better reds elsewhere. But the service is attentive, and I love the artwork on the labels: its very atypical for wine.

Buttonwood is a really great winery and facility.  They have been a sponsor of the Cabernet Franc festival, and hit it right to be there for it once.

They have a number of very good wines (Sauvignon Blanc and Devin (their blend) are two of my favs).  Inside the main building is also a very cool gift shop with some pretty cool stuff.

They have continued to build out the area in the back, and has grown into a very nice garden area, and small orchard.
