I love this place.  I have always had a great meal here - wonderful vibes.  Jerry Scot on the piano both Tuesday and Sunday Brunch - what more can one ask?  Great hostess, Tracey, wonderful servers, Greg and Rachel and the greatest bartender, Kevin.  Highly recommended for great and comforting reasonably priced cuise.

Ever walk into a bar and get the sense that the entire 'staff' and all the 'patrons' had only just moments before committed a grisly murder and you're the first one to walk into the bar as they collectively struggle to keep a straight face? "EVERYONE BE COOL! BE COOL!" they might have just been heard to scream before we walked into Midtown East's very own Butler's.

"You guys gonna order food?" The goon bartender asked while straightening his tie, as if to say, 'There's nothing to see here.' I'd go back to Butler's, but I'm afraid that since they've seen my face, I'm now some sort of accomplice.

Having said all that, I guess the sweet potato fries were pretty good.

This neighborhood restaurant is called butler's because of its Gone With the Wind Theme.  The clientele are very geriatric, but that is a reflection of the neighborhood, and I've been living there for 26 years, so I'm used to it.

In conjunction with the theme of the restaurant, the menu has something of an Atlanta flare, but arbitrarily mixed in are typical bar menu items.  I went with the Cobb salad, which i requested as chopped.  It was delicious and i ate the entire thing.  Julian M. got the fried chicken.  It was well prepared, very crispy, but he insightfully called it Paula dean chicken because the batter was very sweet.  possibly honey or molasses infused.

The food really wasn't good enough to get us to return, but the piano player lounge singer just might be.  He was great.  Great voice, great setlist, and, in keeping with the theme, very old-fashioned.

Service is very poor - slow, impolite and rude sometimes - but live music (especially on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays)  makes it worth a try. After owners leave, bad workers make place look like no one is running the show. Some of them even go outside to smoke and forget about the clientele. Menu could be a bit more creative, but their main concern should be getting better staff.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, good food, and a fantastic friendly staff.  Complement that with the piano music and impromptu singing performances by some of the regulars (former stage actors) and you have a down right fun place where a good time is had by all.

This is a gem!  Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, great entertainment and excellent service.  Everything from the bread to the dessert was remarkable.  If your a baby back rib fan then it doesn't get much better than what Butler's serves up.  The onion rings were a great complement to the ribs.  The peach sorbet was terrific too.  Can't say enough good things about this place.  First timer that will definitely be back.
