More than a little scary, especially the back area with the "golf course".

Still, cheap drinks and plenty of interesting people to talk with and about!

i had a smashing time at the bushwick country club.  other than the fact that i'm not sure if it's in bushwick or not ... it is in a pretty good location for locals.  if i lived in the hood, i'd come here on the regular.

yes, their mini golf course is very, very mini, but at least they have one!  the bartenders are nice, the drinks are cheap and strong.  they've got a video game booth and an outdoor patio.  it looks like a place where everyone would know your name if you were a regular.  not a destination bar, but should definitely be a neighborhood staple.

The put put is defunct! I've never seen a more depressing sight. Leaves, garbage strewn about. I half expected a tumbleweed to roll by the pbr windmill.

This place is pretty laid back, inexpensive beer, a great happy hour deal (2 for 1 tap beers), and in the ladies room...11 toilet paper roll holders! Genius! As soon as I saw them I thought "this is the best idea ever", and relished the experience. I don't really see myself coming here in the evenings, but if I did I'm sure I'd appreciate the abundance of toilet paper. Toilet paper free bathrooms make me want to claw my eyes out. Thank you, Bushwick Country Club. You care. Or pretend to.

I used to come here more. Then I guess I just started to think about it more. I think the fact that it looks like a dive tricks you into thinking that the drinks are a great deal--they're really not. Shot and beer special for 6 bucks (7 if you get the obligatory pickle shot) is really not  a great price...but it's a tall boy! what is that like 4 extra ounces of pabst? i'm ok.

The bartenders are never in a good mood, which I guess makes sense given that the place is pretty dismal. They do have the photo booth, the mini golf, and the filthy outside area, but still it doesn't really make it worth it to me.

There was also an incident a few weeks back, and while I don't know the whole story, i can say with a level of certainty that it resulted in a bartender hitting a patron in the head with a bucket. Dude needed 7  stitches.

Also, it's kind of lame that it claims to have some relation to Bushwick in its name, while being a healthy 2 miles away. Unless they're trying to make an obscure caddyshack reference, in which case it's fine.

I don't know much about good ole BCC except that I stumbled in with Ethan C. and Brian B. for a nightcap when I really shouldn't have been having a nightcap since the previous stops had taken their toll.

But it's ok. I worked off the booze by exercisin'. That's right, I know that I played a round of mini-golf in the back. Now this is my kind of clubbin' - intoxicated and playing golf on the biggest piece of shite course I've ever seen. I don't know who won, but I'm willing to venture it was me because loads of people tell me I look like Tiger Woods. Obviously his skills transfer over as a result?

With PBR tallboys guiding our strokes, the boys and I made quick work of the golf course, milled around the nice-sized back patio and then ventured back inside the Club, an ironically dive-y place.

Like an oasis in the desert, the photobooth materialized. One lonely, tiny stool awaited. It needed hot-blooded rumps on it. It was time. We went on in and drew the red curtain, much to the dismay of the inquiring masses. What ensued was the notorious "3 men, 1 photobooth" incident (also known as the "Ménage à Tromance") - a dirty delight and definitely NSFW.

BCC - I'm considering applying for membership.

...and it's not even in Bushwick. That's right, it's not the best of both worlds. It's in WILLIAMSBURG. Ha! Exposed! You're just a hipster like the rest of them; this time clothed in black and a sideways cap, denying the aim. Still too cool for school and still weak from the Midwest.

I once frequented for 4 weeks. I thought this was what Bushwick had to offer. It's not. Or, it is. Either way, I choose another venue. For now, I choose Legion. Tenfold.

Came here because we heard there was a mini golf course. The "outside" area is tiny, about the size of a townhouse backyard. The mini golf course was like three holes. Very surprised at the rudeness of the crowd there. No need to go back.

Let me preface this by saying that I read the other reviews about the horrifically awful bar staff, but when I went last night, we had the really nice bartender (the girl with numbers tattooed on her arm).  If I go back and encounter the bad people, I'll change my review.

For my photobooth list:  the photobooth is good quality, black-and-white strip with decent tone to the photos.

Happy hour is 2-for-1 until 8, and they give you cheese puffs, AND they have the Tallboy of PBR/Shot of Old Crow $6 special.  Nothing in the world is closer to my heart than this combo.

So far, so good.  I'll be back, and I'll keep my eye open for surly bartenders.

I hit the Bushwick Country Club with some friends on a Sunday afternoon in May.  We were drawn by promises of free food and booze milkshakes.  We found them.

A group of artists and musicians somehow attached to http://www.freeicecrea... hold events at the BCC throughout the summer.  Check them out, see for yourself.

The bar itself has that really trashy, hole-in-the-wall feel that I was raised in and around.  I just love bars that don't have pretensions that they're anything but a place to drink.  They have a decent selection of bottles and draughts, and my O'Hara's Stout came in a styrofoam cup.  They have a 2/1 happy hour on the weekends, not sure about weekdays.

The crowd was generally a cool lot of people without too many hipsters or wannabes, just a variety of people that were easy to chat with and didn't mind getting out of your way to blast some video wildebeest.  The bartenders were an odd lot of pirates and misfits that sling beer with a smile and give you little dinosaur trinkets for your happy hour specials.

One of the defining characteristics is the back patio area, where the golf course is located. It is the smallest, saddest mini-golf course in the world, and that is all of its charm.  It's just something to distract you, and it brings a smile to your face even if you think it's tiny and miserable.  There's some love in that astro-turf and rubberized pad set of holes.

Also, check out the vintage photo booth.  It fires off actual chemically-developed black and white photos for about $3.00.  Dig.

YIKES!

I wasn't going to waste my time reviewing this place but after reading some of the other horror stories about the bar staff I decided to contribute my own. And I'll preface by saying I've been here once prior for happy hour and the bartender who was working that day (female/birthday tattooed on forearm) was super friendly and NOT the one described in this incident.

So, I walk in this past friday night, around 10:30 w/ a party of 3 to hear this  tragic looking female-hipster bartender scoff "well, these kids are only here for 1 drink".

Okay?

So I order a $6 tiny glass of jack and coke and decide not to give her an extra dollar for tip. I'd like to add that I ALWAYS tip no matter how overpriced a drink is but part of me was feeling put off by her attitude and the other was thinking that MAYBE I'd give her a couple bucks next round if she could show any redeeming signs of being a decent human being.

Anyways what happened next was straight out of the twilight zone.

This girl stomps off down the bar and yells "You know we work for TIPS right?!?"

A few minutes pass and she approaches me at the bar and says "Are you always a fucking asshole?"

Huh?

She goes on for another few seconds about how she's working for tips and how I'm a piece of shit for not tipping her etc. then walks away again.

So at this point i'm really beside myself as to what this backwards-broad could be suffering from while simultaneously trying to get my friends to finish their drinks and get the hell out of there when she comes back to me for a THIRD time and yells "and don't you fucking stare me down! this is your LAST drink!"

Last drink? Don't do me any favors you miserable bitch!

Long story short I've never witnessed anything as immature or absurd as what I dealt with at Bushwick Country Club and how this girl can still have a job is beyond me. Normally I'd just chalk this kind of thing up to some jaded hag's coke dealer not coming through resulting in her going to her "dark place" , but based on what other people have written it seems like somewhat of a trend which reflects poorly on the bar as a whole.

Anyways, hopefully the owner(s) will catch wind of some of the incidents listed on these reviews and take action because in a city where dive bars are a dime a dozen it's going to continue to cost them precious billy-burg bucks. I, for one, will be taking mine elsewhere.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

THE GOOD:
+ for being only 1/2 a mile from my apartment
+ for the old fashioned photo booth!
+ for the super ghetto mini goft in the back
+ for feeling more like a house party than a bar
+ for good cheap drink specials and tall PBR's

THE BAD
- for feeling more like a house party than a bar (sometimes it's good, sometimes it isn't)

So overall I really like this spot. It's laid back. Just how I like a bar to be!

Like a few of the other people up here, I used to go to BCC fairly regularly cause I live around the block...Ugh but then I witnessed one of the most DISGUSTING scenes ever at this bar.   I was there one night a while back and one of the female bartenders was being all loud and surly all night.  Every time I ordered a drink she gave me this *stank* face which I took to mean that she was ungrateful for my patronage...but then later, right before closing, I realized that the true *stankosity* of her demeanor was cause the girl was drunk, tanked out of her mind.  She was leaning over with her head kind of under the bar, and I heard this awful choking sound followed by a loud SPLASH...I leaned over to see what had happened only to discover that she had puked into the service sink under her own bar!!!

God, it's so awkward, I saw her in Key Foods across the street recently buying those cheetos they toss out at the bar and she asked me why I don't come around anymore...guess she was so wasted that night that she doesn't even remember that I was there to witness her spewing at the bar.  If you look on the NY dept of Health website, one year they had 16 violations including one for "Improper personal hygiene practices and poor food-worker health."   Sick.

Now I have to cross the street to avoid even passing by it.  Awkward.

Talk about UPTIGHT!  All of the bad williamsburg stereotypes rolled into one fucking bar.  It's my favorite place to find ugly people being way too arrogant about their bad 2002 "rock n' roll" uniforms.  Holy shit, this place is a hilariously bad time.  All of the girl friends I came with told me about the dumbest dudes hitting on them to the point where it was just a great joke for them.  As far as bar owners go, this guy wasn't the worst, but definitely not cool.  The dumb fucking bartender and her stupid friends have to remind you that they aren't in their shitty small towns anymore and that they've made it to the big apple.  Judging by a lot of reviews, I'm guessing a lot of people can't wait til these lovely bartenders get mugged.  way 2 go!@#@ In West Virginia, this would probably be "the cool bar," but guess what, I have choices and I'll go where not everyone is such a fucking asshole.

Generally, I have a great distaste for bars fo the following reasons:
1. The loud music and patrons make it impossible to carry on a conversation.
2. They're hot and stuffy
3. A lot of them give off a douchey/pretentious vibe
4. The drinks are overpriced
5. There are no free cheese puffs.

However, the BCC has none of these traits,
1. The music is not too loud, and even on a Saturday night, it was not overly loud or crowded
2. There is an awesome outside area with minigolf (complete w/PBR windmill)
3. No douchey vibes...normal kids, funny decorations, good times
4. Drinks are cheap (for a bar)
5. Oh yes, and there are neverending cheesepuffs

Congrats BCC, you are officially the bar for people who hate bars.

No reason not to like this bar. They have Bushmills, which I prefer to Jameson, free cheese curls, nudey touch screen, outdoor seating, heavy pours...

The only reason it doesn't get full five stars is because my ex-boyfriend claimed it after we broke up. You are sure to find him there. Just yell out 'Hey Mac want a pickle-back shot? I'm buyin'' and he'll turn up. For the record we are on good terms and still like each other and have a bunch of mutual friends and stuff. But who wants to hang out with their ex all the time?

Oh and Angie is making out with the bartender...

A group of friends and I made our way to the BCC last night to do some pre-drinking before dancing the night away at the Union Pool.  While I have never been to the BCC before, I knew what I was getting myself into - this IS Williamsburg and all.
For a Saturday night it was not too crowded at all - we were all able to cram into the first booth to the left as you walk into the bar.  I was able to talk to everyone is out group because the music was not too loud - which is a HUGE plus.
I only drank the PBR tall cans (awsome) all night, but next time I go, I need to check out the drink specials.  I hear they make a Jake and Coke slushy which I am not sure how to feel about.
The bathroom was absolutely disgusting, but what else do you expect from a Williamsburg dive bar?
I plan on going back when the ait heats up to enjoy the back patio, BBQ, and mini golf course.
Even though I am giving this bar three stars, the first thing that I noticed when I walked in was the smell - ew.

Oh, BCC, I miss you so!  I've hardly been out of Williamsburg five minutes, and I'm already craving your Jim Beam Slushies!

It's always good times at the Bushwick Country Club.  Some nights it's crazy crowded, but when it's not, it's a great place to duck in for a few slushies, strongly-mixed drinks, a photo booth for those Kodak moments, and free snacks.  When it's cheese puff night (not an actual night, but their snack rotation includes these nastily tasty nibbles), I know you love me back.

It's pretty spacious both inside and in the back "garden."  By garden, I mean a cement-covered backyard space with mismatched patio furniture and a lopsided wooden bench.  In the warm months, the grill in the back is open for bbq's and other summer shenanigans.  It's a great place for gathering with friends and getting pissed.  And by pissed, I don't mean mad like I was all day today (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).

Play the minigolf in the back, but don't try and shoot your ball into the big aluminum roaster obstacle thing they have.  It eats balls.  Yeah, I said it.

The backyard is where it's AT on Sunday afternoons. You kind of feel like you're at someone's party. Everyone was drunk-ass. There were cute boys slutting themselves out for the free pulled pork sandwiches they were making. Great music. And they just put in a machine so they can make Jack and Coke slushies. Jack and Coke slushies?!? How awesome it that???

I think I found my new neighborhood bar.

The Country Club is a pretty chill spot. As a result, even when it is crowded, it is never PACKED. They have a great jukebox, and an oldschool black-and-white photo-booth. (Always fun!) The bartenders are wonderfully friendly. They have a "club card" that gives benefits and discounts to its members. ALSO, there is outdoor seating and mini-golf in the back yard! And an Elvis tapestry on the wall. Overall, a fun place to be!

If you're in the Williamsburg area, and looking for a place to have a birthday party, this place is awesome! The "birthday person" drinks free all night if he/she brings at least 15 friends.

This is the way bars should be, because if you start frequenting the Country Club, the bartenders will recognize you, know your favorite drinks, etc. Awesome -- one of my favorite hangouts. I miss it now that I don't live around the corner!

BCC is open late, has bottles of Delirium Tremens and employs friendly bartenders. There's lots of seating at the bar, and even more out back.

My only complaint was the Jack'n'Coke slushies were a bit weak. However, I was really drunk at that point, so maybe they weren't.

I met my first, real-life freemason here, too.

I'm not sure if this can be described as an dive bar, but I don't care. I love this bar! It's owed by one of my brothers, and it rocks. I love the golf course! I didn't play cause it was too cold, but I liked the idea. There are couches on the inside, seating on the outside... what else do you need? Full bar, fun things on the wall, and a different yet enjoyable array of beer. I went with friends and had a ball... there's also a picture booth. Who wouldn't have fun. Was there last night with some good friends, good times, very neighborhood feel, hot crowd (and cute bartenders). BCC's got a nice and kitchy feel, with the mandatory 70s lunch boxes and action figures to prove it.

The big draw, although not so much yesterday, is the makeshift mini-golf course out back, there's a windmill made out of flattened PBR cans.

Oh, they also have a photobooth to capture any and all lowbrow debauchery!

Too many shots later, we went back to my friend's loft and actually made our own golf course, but that's another story.

Pretty laidback bar, some interesting beers, smallish outdoor area with mini putt-putt in the back! I was there on a saturday night and it was packed at one point, but we managed to find a good table with booth seating all around.

I simultaneously had a bad and a good moment. I tried their slushy margarita machine, and WHOA. Do not get it. It's pure mix and sugar and just kind of nasty. The good part was that the bartender was really cool and let me replace it with a beer.... I don't know if that's just their thing, or if I asked nicely.

Everything was going well until a belligerent bartender asked my friend if that was all the tip he was going to give him. Talk about putting him on the spot. My friend honestly thought he had given a couple of bucks, but apparently he had only given one. Still, how tacky is that? Despite that, it's a good place to grab a beer and the move on to the next...

It's usually a foggy memory, but from what i do recall, every time i've entered the door of the bushwick country club i became tiger woods on the backyard mini-golf course, or a world-renown buck hunter professional.  fueled by PBR's or any of the variety of specialty beverages, BBC lets you become who you really came to be.  I frigging heart it.

Can never go wrong with BCC. Good location and I'll be damned if I cant enjoy the hell out of $3 PBR pints. This place is right across the street from my band's rehearsal spot. No better way to unwind after practice. Hell last time someone had left $3 in the Buck Hunter. The outdoor space in the back is spacious and great. While I've yet to play the mini golf, I will one of these days.

I enjoy coming here when I want to stay around the neighborhood.  I think the prices are fair, the music is usually good and the backyard is a plus.

the country club is probably the most worthy recipient of 5 stars on this website. the prices are great, the staff is great and i can think of no one who requires friendly (see also; tolerant) staff more than myself. (see also; tequila shots?)

it's the perfect night cap location, especially if your on a date with the misses and want to finish with a pbr pounder and a game of mini-golf.

i'm proud to say that i was one of the very first patrons at the country club and also one of the regulars for all my time in brooklyn. i'm madly in love with the staff and the seasonal drink specials. i'm also madly in love with all the nights i left there not remembering how it all ended. i actually even fell madly in love with my boyfriend over nights of bbqing and white trash specials in the back yard.

oh bcc i miss you so.

My other half, Allison G., threw her party party at BCC last night, and what fun it was! Our bartender wowed us with his patented Carolina Sours (think basically a whiskey sour with a splash of red wine), and the party was a smashing success, complete with weiner roast, photo booth love, and mini golf. Friendly staff, strong, tasty drinks and surprisingly easy to find helped making the party a smashing success!
