Went with my family the other night and thoroughly enjoyed the place. The menu is extensive and ranges from classic Thai dishes like Pad Thai to more interesting fusion-type things.

I had the Golden Triangles appetizer which was wonderfully light and crispy, airy yet fried at the same time! As an entree I had the special of the night, the Refugee Noodles which was absolutely delicious - shrimp and chicken in soy broth over rice noodle "crepes" which were more like dumplings and were the highlight of the dish. The portions are immense and for a very good price. Service was extremely quick and polite, they also make a good margarita. Will definitely be back!

The decor at Busara is, in a word, ridiculous. It's very dark with accents of neon (and when I say neon, I mean NEON) and there's weird pop art and other crazy things on the wall. It's a far, far cry from the peaceful little garden in the back which has a lovely koi pond and trickling fountain. If you want a nice, quiet, enjoyable meal, request the garden and get through the main restaurant as quickly as you can.

The food was good. We started with chicken satay, calamari, and dumplings. The dumplings were definitely the best. All of the entrees were good, nothing surprising or overly special, but still good. Service was very attentive and the dessert (coconut ice cream and fried bananas) was divine.

So this is one of those places that you kind of have to be open minded to enjoy, but once you allow yourself to enjoy it, it will be one of your favorite restaurants in Washington...

My wife and I go to Busara and bring along our infant daughter.  We never feel out of place, even at the bar.  Everyone is extremely friendly, and from all walks of life.  A great neighborhood restaurant.

We are actually getting ready to move from Glover Park, and we are very sad.  We love the little spots that are mostly patronized by long-time Glover Park folks.  We will still come to Busara after we move.

The food is fantastic, but I still stick to one of three dishes on the menu, mainly because they are the spiciest.  I couldn't tell you the names, but I could tell you the numbers...

Great staff, great bar, great food.

Busara is a contemporary space with a really interesting decor that doesn't appeal to everyone, but is fun and interesting nevertheless. If that's not your thing you can always opt for dining on the patio in warmer weather.

I cannot promise that the Thai menu is super authentic or that everything is even supremely good, but I've never been disappointed (minus the Pad Thai - see below). It's a good basics place for a warm Thai meal that is, at the very least, solid.  I recommend the Spring Rolls, Larb Gai and Panang Gai. This is one of the few Thai places where I did not enjoy my Pad Thai which is a huge negative. Shouldn't all Thai places EXCEL at their Pad Thai? Isn't that the dish they are MOST famous for? Just a thought.

I lived in Glover Park for two years, and just moved in May. To be honest, I still crave Busara from time to time (at least twice a week). I've dragged a countless number of friends and family here over and over, and though they weren't really impressed with the place, I love it! Maybe it has something to do with how the interior decorating is copied straight out of the movie Beetlejuice. I am a sucker for Busara's spring rolls and panang tofu. But though I love Busara, I must admit that the suggestion we go there brings groans from some of my friends.

Busara is pretty decent Thai food that is worth checking out.  Most entrees are $10-$15.  I was always pleased with the satay and duck when I ordered them, but the curry dishes were not as good.  Make sure you ask for the special hot sauces, so you can add a little extra flavor to your meal.

I love this place, I usually go to drink and hang out with friends. Busara has a real friendly vibe to it. The drinks are good, staff is awsome, and everyone I know likes the food- I personally recommend the Pad Thai Pak.

More like basura...I'm going to agree with Stef that this was a place I wanted to like but something about it just wasn't doin it for me. The Tim Burtonesque decorations were probably my favorite thing about this place. The service wasn't that great and neither was my food.

Satisying Thai food in a 1980s-feel decor that is odd but not a turn-off--more just funnily quirky. Similar to so many of my experiences in Thai restaurants, it's easy to get a table, the staff is friendly and swift, and the food is mercifully affordable with copious vegetarian options, meaning lots of opportunities to feel like you're eating healthily even if you probably aren't.

They did up a fine Thai iced tea, I might add.

Well, this is a special place for me and my husband.  We went there quite a few times since its opening.  Before many Thai restaurants existed in the area, Busara was the first in the area to have this kind of decor. We love the food, the service, nice atmosphere.
It made it special for us because my huband (boyfriend) at that time, and I went to this restaurant and afterwards, he proposed me.
    Besides our own sentimental value....
this place is still great.  Good food, nice ambiance, good atmosphere.

    Busara is now officially closed.

But when it was open it was great for delivery - we live 3 blocks away and always got our food w/i 30 mins.  Tasty.
