First time I went here I was not impressed but co-workers suggested I go again. One reccomended the halibut cerviche and it is amazing. Served with avocado slices it is sooo yummy and I don't even like fish!

Also they make pretty good drinks here. Can't say much else about the place though. It will be one of those places I get the same thing at everytime.

The lady wanted a margarita, mainly, and a taco secondarily. So off to Burrito Loco we go.

Decent, if sweet, Hornitos margaritas. Sweetheart got the BBQ pork burrito. YUMmy pork. I got the beef tongue. I have never in my days had beef tongue before, so I thought I'd try it. I've had a lot of tongues in my mouth, people, and lots I didn't really know, but at least I have tried to stay in my species. Pretty good! Very tender and not all that flavorful. I have no reason not to chew on the tongues of other cows should the opportunity arise.

There's nothing outstanding about Burrito Loco, so far, anyway, but it's a decent place to get a margarita and some tonguing in Crown Hill.

Burrito Loco, located right across the street from Dick's. It's a bit of a lunchtime Sophie's Choice. Today, I chose Burrito Loco.

I've been here a few times to grab a quick lunch, and it hasn't disappointed me yet. As a bonus, my food is always ready in the time I would spend waiting in line at Dick's.

Burritos, tacos, enchiladas, chimichangas- it's exactly what you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant. If you ever find yourself in Crown Hill craving a burrito, don't hesitate to try it out.

I think I gave Burrito Loco a bad rap the first time I reviewed them.  Let's see, good chips and salsa, surprisingly good food this time, friendly service -- I'm still not blown away, but I think they deserve a spot in your rotation if you're a Mexican fan.  (That's "a fan of Mexican food," not "a person who is Mexican and also a fan of something.")

Blah! Both times I've eaten here, the tomato sauce tastes like Chef Boyardee, all bland and sicklysweet. The vegetables are FROZEN. I'm talking about little cubes of carrots and lima beans, people.

That's just nasty. If I wanted to eat like this, I'd go to my grandma's house. I don't have to pay her almost $9, either.

I love Burrito Loco.  I used to live in the Crown Hill area back in the 1990s, and started eating here way back then.  In the past year, now that I work in Ballard, I can happily dine on their lunch specials, which I find delicious.  I'm especially fond of their chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, and the chicken quesedilla.  And I just love the green salsa they serve with their chips.  The red one is a bit too fiery for me.

I just ate here this week, and found the service to be friendly and speedy. Everything I require and appreciate during lunchtime.  The food was delicious!

When Burrito Loco sprang up in the '90's, it was welcome competition for chain store Taco Del Mar's foil-wrapped monster burrito.
I lived nearby at around the time it appeared, and used to go there fairly often due its convenience and satisfying burritos.
I guess things change though, or at the very least, I do.

I was kind of dreaming about a burrito the other day while we were out shopping, so we decided to stop in and grab some food. Burrito Loco is still a cute little place, but I should have stuck with the burrito.

I guess I decided to get the Chicken en Mole, as we had been talking about sampling it at different places and have plans to go do that some more again this next week. I've had it before and it's been a long time, but I easily remembered it - thick, dark sauce that looks soooo enticing but ends up being merely satisfactory rather than as amazing as it looks.
Don't get me wrong, it was totally fine, BUT -
the margaritas also are only merely satisfactory;
all the food was merely satisfactory;
we waited for about forever for the bill;
I felt like our waitress was trying to sell us more margaritas;
I know it's a family friendly restaurant, but I really could have done without the crazy little kids in the next table who actually blew their straw wrappers at us.

I know that is NOT the restaurants fault, but I can make the reasonable assumption that those people will return and bring their children, and unfortunately the food was just not fabulous enough to make me want to go back and possibly end up next to that family again. Or any family with little kids for that matter. It's just too small a place.
I also could have given the less-than-amazing food a break if it was super cheap, but I may have even paid more there for a meal that included less margaritas than my favorite mexican place that is only a few blocks away, so why would I go back?

I may stop in again sometime to pick up a burrito to go, but I think I'll leave it at that.

I've been haunting Burrito Loco on Holman since I was little, and it may look like a little burrito joint from the outside, but if you go in, the salsa and the service will make you stay.

The green salsa is so good... I crave this when I think of mexican food. They also have a wide selection of unique mexican foods, and they are particularly considerate of there vegetarian friends.

Annabelle, one of the owners, is so sweet, she'll keep you coming back for years, just as I have.

Picked up take-out, and the wait wasn't too long. We shared the Chicken mole enchilada and the Machaca burrito. My only complaint is too many pinto beans. I'm just not a big fan. Decent food though. Just under 20 bucks for two entrees, but, sadly, no chips to munch on on the way home.

I might go back.

Just last week I ordered two burritos for take-out with extra guacamole (which I was charged for).  One burrito had extra guacamole and one burrito had ZERO guacamole.

Kitchen mishaps happen, but it seems like it happens a bit more than usual at this place.

Other than that, the service is very friendly.

I love that their mexican food isn't smothered in cheddar.  And their margaritas are made from fresh juices--yum!!

They have an excellent veg menu and outstanding vegetarian tamales.  My partner is a committed carnivore and he always seems happy with his meat dishes--especially the polo alla crema--but seemed a little underwhelmed with the carne asada.

Overall a great place!

Apparently Burrito Loco is more than its name would imply.

Living in Ballard for about 3 years or so, I have driven down Holman at least 324 times.  I always looked at Burrito Loco with some amount of disdain because it is in a strip mall and their signage is kind of goofy... But finally, after leaving El Chup abruptly after the surly waiter spilled pico de gallo juice all over my BF's crotch area and was none too apologetic about it, we decided to try the LOCO.  And I am VERY glad for it!  The inside of this place is much nicer than the outside would imply - nice, clean, cute wooden tables.  And our waiter, an older gentleman, was friendly, prompt, and the lack of attitude was much appreciated after our prior episode!  He quickly brought us our Coronas in these crazy frosted mugs - I have never been given one of these mugs in a restaurant - it was literally fuzzy with ice on the outside, and was the kind of mug that has water in it so you can freeze it.  Very cool, because warm Corona is GROSS.  I enjoyed their green and red salsas - the red was pleasantly spicy.  We ended up ordering a appetizer platter to share, and soft tacos.  The appetizer platter had halibut ceviche on mini tostada shells - and after a dollop of Tapatio - was fresh and delicious! Just what I crave on a hot day.  The rest of the appetizer plate was these little deep fried potato tacos.  Much less impressed with those - very bland and very fried - not a lot of redeeming qualities there.  But the true winner was the soft taco plate.  We ordered the carne asada tacos, and the meat was plentiful and very, very flavorful.  The beans that came with the meal were also very flavorful... the BF and I devoured ever last bit of the plate, from the greens to the beans to every last bit of the carne asada that had escaped from the confines of its corn tortilla ensconcer.  Seriously, yum.  I was not expecting this amount of flavor, and I was SO happy!  And even better was the fact that I didn't get a raging stomach ache afterwards.  The food to me seems a little on the expensive side, when I compare it to other places where you unfortunately get TONS of food - but I was still very solidly pleased with the quality of all of the food, so it is definitely worthwhile.  I highly recommend people to take a chance and try this place - and perhaps stray from the Burrito, despite having said item in their name.

Hmm, we decided to dine here this past weekend, when it was raining cats and dogs. We have missed our old favorite joint so we said "why the hell not?" It was pretty crowded, but of course it was a Saturday evening. After waiting for a bit to get our orders taken, we munched away on the chips and salsa. They used to give us two, but today was just the standard red one. No tomatillo avocado salsa. :-( So we put in our orders, I ordered my standard Enchiladas Verdes, and my man ordered the Burrito Loco Asada Wet, meaning it was uncovered by foil and slathered in their sauce. I also ordered the same for my bro who was sick at work, same as mine but with Tortilla soup. Our orders came after a while and I was kinda surprised to find my enchiladas drowned, I mean sunk in the tomatillo sauce. I took a bite, and boy did my mouth pucker. I know that tomatillos are a bit tart, but this was not that kind of tart, it tasted like they squeezed a whole lime in it. My love, told me he thought the tortilla tasted off in his burrito. Walking out a bit disappointed  by our meal, it was confirmed by my bro, that the food was indeed off that night. His soup he said tasted like chicken water, and the Enchiladas Verdes was eh. I hope they were having an "off" night, I guess we'll see in a few weeks, but I am reducing their stars to A-Ok, because well...it was just that.

Good, solid Mexican food with lots of vegetarian options. Looked like they had a full bar and some beers on tap. It was nice and cozy and overall a pretty easy going place.

The first thing I noticed about this place is that it has excellent free chips and salsa, both red and green. The red was about medium spicy; the green was milder and creamy, presumably with avocado. My friend and I each ordered the Burrito Loco, one with chicken and one with pork. The ingredients were fresh and the burritos were filling and satisfying, though not particularly inspired. The food was cheap ($5-7 burritos), but at around $7 for house gold tequila, the margaritas seemed overpriced.
