Then you'll know why we decided to plant a vegetable garden.  Burpee has a fantastic selection of perennials, annuals, bulbs, and vegetables for great prices.  Plus, they offer a history for each plant type, and a rating system, so you can read about other customer experiences.

We make a special trip out here each year. Two areas: the outside area has all the plants. If you don't see what you want, ask and they'll check the green house.

The store has most of the items in the catalog, OR they'll get them for you if you call ahead.  They also have a section of returned/ discontinued/open items at a discount.  Sometimes the seeds are more expensive than at your local store, BUT they have MORE varieties and LARGER packages available. They also have seed potatoes, berry bushes, and garlic.

If you're doing the outside area, bring a hat, and for goodness sake, take a basket or cart.  It's a pain to find yourself at the end of the lot trying to juggle six or eight flats of damp plants.

Love all of the seeds that I have bought from this company -- which have included heirloom and organic selections -- that have blossomed to fruition.  Nothing like growing your own herbs and tomatoes and eating them out of the garden.  Nothing.
