It's a pretty decent place. The boyfriend and I came in here hoping to eat some exotic burgers (ostrich, bison, venison) but we were crushed to see none of those choices on the menu. Apparently only the other Burgers &Cupcakes (is it on West 23rd?) serves those on a regular basis. We got over it because we were starving &ended up ordering some salmon burgers and chili cheese fries. The fries came in a huge basket, and every fry was covered! The chili was actually hearty and lean, I loved it. Our burgers came out perfect and moist. I kind of wished I ordered pizza from the adjacent kitchen, but I didn't want to be a weenie ordering pizza at a burger joint.

We were hoping to split a cupcake after dinner but there was no way we could get anything else down. Our waiter was so sweet, he gave us a box of 4 cupcakes on the house, apologizing again about the whole menu misunderstanding.

Oh, and the water is served in jam jars. The boyfriend's exact words: "I feel like I'm in a fcking barn!"

Burgers & Cupcakes might be my new favorite place to go when I visit New York.  Dustin R. and I were walking around the neighborhood where our hotel was located and stumbled upon this place.  Of course, after going here many people told me about it, and for good reason.  The cupcakes were delicious.  We each got one.  I had the mint chocolate chip and he had the red velvet. I loved my cupcake and the red velvet was decent.  We also got fizz drinks which were delicious.

Unfortunately, we didn't get a burger (we were meeting a friend for lunch somewhere else).  I think the fact that I didn't get a burger makes me really like this place even more.  It's like I NEED one.  I think that's a good sign of a great restaurant.

Re: cupcakes only

I was amused by the taped-on sheet of paper with the word "Cupcakes" in 16-point in front of the large display case of cupcakes. Um, thanks.

I actually only had one cupcake, a seasonal one at that - carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. But it was damn tasty and I bestow my rating thusly.

My friend was there for business and had eaten a peanut butter cupcake every day save her last - she was obsessed with 'em, but I wasn't that in awe of the bite I snuck.

First of all, I can't believe that I went to a place with a cliche name like this, but oh well, I was in the area and was hungry.  The decor is more take out pizza place vs. a restaurant.  Also, the place is the just south of the Port authority "no mans land" in the 30's.  The service was prompt and efficient.  The burger, however was average at best.  It was served on a gummy bun you get in a 10-pack at the supermarket.  That said, it was grilled nicely.  The burger itself had the I-grilled-this-myself-at-a-tailgate taste, which isn't bad, but I don't want to pay for food that makes me think "I cold have cooked this myself".  I shipped the fries to save room for a...what else... a cupcake.  I got the chocolate cake, chocolate ganache cupcake.  It was a good size and the cake was tasty, however there was too much frosting.

Good, juicy burgers. Fair service, and very good cupcakes.

I get that this place is a bit of a gimmick (right down to the drinks served in mason jars), but honestly the food is solid.

I would say that the burgers are pretty good, the size is not that big but there are a lot of topping choices.  I ordered a side of cheese fries and was disappointed that the cheese that came out was artificial and the fries were really thin and tiny.

I did not have room for the cupcakes but overall the service was a cross between a diner and a restaurant since we had to bring the bill up to pay and we seated ourselves.

For $28 we managed to get 2 burgers with 1 topping each, 1 side of fries, 1 cheese fries and 2 drinks.  Not bad but a little expensive for the portions.

I'm giving it only 3/5 stars because the food is pretty common, nothing to go back for. However the cupcakes are the selling point! I had a cinnamon roll cupcake, I was in heaven. The size is comparable to Crumbs (which is a good thing), but the moisture in these delicious treats are beyond Crumbs standards.

So Im walking down 9th Ave, trying to get back to 33rd and 7th before I get left by the bus headed for DC. Im dragging my overstuffed suitcase and carrying a bulging purse and Im starving.  What I really want to do is sit down somewhere and get something to eat.  Im looking for something quick but since I hate chain restaurants and typical fast food, I bypass all of those places. I stumbled upon Burgers and Cupcakes.  I stopped in this spot on 10/26/09 around 1:45pm. But first, I stood outside and read the menu....for what, i dont know since the restaurant name is pretty self explanatory.  I lugged my suitcase inside the crowded burger joint which seemed to be full of regulars and groups of lunchtime co-workers.

I ordered a Turkey Burger. That's it. I'm cheap, No fries or drink, just a burger which came to $7.08. But the cupcakes, so neatly arranged in the counter display to the right of the counter were calling my name. Im NOT a sweets person either. I dont need sugar with every meal or to make it through the day like some people but that didnt stop those little sweet monsters from staring me down. So the cashier says, "That's it? You're not gonna try a cupcake?" She seemed very perplexed....like "why did you even come in here". I hesitantly declined until this lady stormed in and ordered her preferred cupcake.  She knew exactly what she wanted as if it was her ritual. Turns out it was. She looked at me and started exclaiming how she couldnt resist these cupcakes and that she works down the street and comes in almost everyday. I personally found that a bit excessive for a $2.50 sweet and thought she may need to exercise some self control. Nevertheless, her high approval is what weakened me and so I purchased a red velvet cupcake. There were 2 versions. One adorned in Halloween decor and the other was regular. So I went for the gold and got the fancy halloween decorated cupcake.

While I waited, I looked around and saw pizzas and tasty looking fries.  I started to regret not getting the fries and I wondered if the pizzas might have been a better choice. They really looked great. But I reminded myself the place is called Burgers and Cupcakes so I should at least give the burgers a try. Since I was late, I got my food to go and I tortured myself by walking like 10 more blocks to the bus before eating it.  The burger was really good. FRESH lettuce tomato and red onion; but nothing special.  It was good but not the best burger I'd ever had.  The cupcake...what cupcake? All I can say is I gobbled it up in like 2 bites. Yum! I'll be back so I can try pizza and a cupcake next time. :)

100th Review of this place? Yea why not!

I've been here a few times because it is (Strategically) placed rite next door to my gf's apartment, so when we're feeling lazy and want some good food we'll stop by, after having been there months and not even setting foot inside of the place. I'm kind of sad we didn't because theire stuff is good.

Everyone's gripes are correct, the burgers are pretty small. But the food is good, and made the perfect size for my gf's little stomach! The burgers are small, but tasty, and yes there are alot of topping choices, however, it's ok to miss out on the burgers here, theyre good but not great. If you come here, it should definitely be for the sweet potato fries. First of all if you don't like sweet potato fries there's something wrong with you, i also refuse to take bakk that statement for it is a fact! And this place has them, and man are they good. Their cupcakes are good too, ALOT of frosting (some people like their frosting to cake ration to be a little closer to even, but hey) and pretty sweet, but good. But the best thing here...without QUESTION, has to be their milkshake. It's pricey ($4.50 i think) but MAN is it good, I've only had the vanilla one, but really i could have died consuming it because it was sooooooooo yummy...not the best I've ever had, but in the top 3 of all time, yes for sure....and i've had ALOT of milkshakes! I think it's a good place, with a cood idea, and very friendly staff....i say, chekk it out.

This is a fantastic idea in concept.  In execution, it's just okay.

Their burgers really are quite small - like, McDonald's-cheeseburger sized in diameter (although a bit thicker).  And as someone else mentioned they charge a buck for cheese (WTF?) and an additional buck for each additional topping beyond the standard lettuce/tomato/pickle.  I could easily see how someone could rack up a $12 burger and then have it come out and be so tiny and disappointing.

But, despite the size, the burger was tasty.  Nothing special, but tasty.  And the fries were tasty also.

Now on to the cupcake.  These are your standard-sized, muffin-tin cupcakes.  And although it was tasty, like the burger, I just didn't feel like I got $3 worth of cupcake.

Service was friendly if a bit slow...although we were there at an "off" time (4PM) so I'm not sure if they really had many servers staffed.

I once described Crumbs' cupcakes as being like a dessicated kitchen sponge with a whipped Crisco+sugar topping.

I would eat another Crumbs cupcake before I'd eat another cupcake from Burgers and Cupcakes.

If you smeared their peanut butter cupcake on the roof of a dog's mouth, he would steal your toothbrush and say, "Thou dithn't ethpecth me tuh lickth thith off, dith thou?"

And then the dog would bite the shit out of you for doing that to him.

Ate here with my parents this past Sunday after spending a fortune at B&H nearby. We didn't exactly want to drop another fortune for NY food so we opted for a lighter option. We went there for pizza but turns out they don't serve pizza on Sundays - this wasn't mentioned on their website! Boo :( But we ended up staying for the burgers.

My dad and I shared a burger and my fiance and my mom shared a chicken sandwich. We just wanted a light snack and we figured we couldn't put away a standard American sandwich. However, when the food came out, we wished we each ordered our own! The sandwiches were about 3 inches in diameter which is just right for one person but there wasn't much to share. Thank goodness we ordered their sweet potato fries!! All the food was very tasty, we all finished everything. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy and not too greasy or too salty.

When we got up to pay, they offered us free cupcakes!! None of us are cupcake people but we got some to go to give to my nieces. However, we ended up sharing one of them and it was REALLY good! It wasn't too sweet which is such a nice change and the cake was moist but not too gooey. Yum. The genache was just perfectly bittersweet that I ended up licking my fingers as not to let any of it go to waste. I'd definitely go back for lunch if I am ever in the area again but this time, I'm getting my own damn sandwich!

Oh and the chicken sandwich we got had mozzarella on it that was very tasty so I bet they have excellent pizzas. I'd like to go back and give them a try.

Okay as a lunch spot on the west side. Beware if you're in a rush though. Given that this place makes, well, burgers and cupcakes it takes FOREVER to get your food. Last time I went there with co-workers, we were checking our watches after waiting for a half hour. It wasn't like the place was packed either. Not that we want some pre-made nonsense, but it shouldn't take half an hour to get a burger, especially when we didn't get fries with them! Service was nice though.

Burgers are on the small side. Satisfying for a lunch craving, but a bit expensive for the amount of food you get.

Admittedly, I've only had one cupcake from here. I didn't like it. The cake part was okay, but the frosting was all wrong. And again, kind of small for the $2.50 price tag.

And yet, it's close to work so I'll probably go back.

I thought B&C was a totally decent place for lunch.  Would I travel to go there from say midtown east? no chance.  But since I work in an area where getting good food is probably as difficult a task as if I were in I dunno, St Cloud, MN, B&C is def a place I would return to.

The burger is small which can be good or bad.  Good for me, cuz it's not one of those Irish Pub monsters that render you useless for the rest of the work day.  Bad, cuz, well, people want more for their money.  I would say for NYC, 6.50 (I think the price was) was fine for what it is, but knowing you can get a shackburger for the same price does not fare well for our lil hells kitchen establishment.

It tasted pretty good, a lil tough compared to some of the top burger places, but totally decent.

The sweet potato fries were actually very tasty, and I would rec them to anyone who comes here.

The cupcake was small too, which is good for those of us trying to watch what we eat to some extent.  I'm not sure is 2.50 is a fair price for this size cupcake.  Anyway, I thought the cupcake was very tasty.  I got the plain vanilla one, and the cream and the cake were deliscious without being too sweet.  I will make a run back there to pick up more of those..

another plus, for some reason, is the jars you get for soda..not that it matters, but i found it amusing.

In conclusion - price is fair...burgers are acceptable...cupcakes..very good, but too different to compare to crumbs/magnolia

I'm on 9th ave and I see a storefront that says Burgers and Cupcakes?
I then see a dude pick up a cigarette butt off the ground and trying to smoke it. I wonder if he would choose a burger or a cupcake? What's next, a store that sells Fish and pies?

I walk in and I see the cupcakes on display. I want to try one to report on yelp so I choose Red Velvet. Nice frosting, moist cupcake. 2.50 a pop?? My kids could make these things, 10 cupcakes would be awfully expensive if I had to pay $25 bucks.

I liked it here and I would go back. I'm not writing it off.

I had my hesitations about this place, but the turkey burger I had was actually quite juicy and delicious.  All the burgers start at $6.50 and start the steep unhill climb of $1 extra per topping, which seems a bit excessive to me, but the burgers were at least good.  Sweet potato fries were delicious too, but how hard is it to screw those up?

Contrary to other reviews, the red velvet cake we tried was moist and wonderful and the peanut butter & chocolate ganache cupcake was a little dryer than the red velvet, but still not bad at all.  It's not really a convenient location for me, but I'd be willing to go back.

Since I have not tried their burgers, I will instead make a case for their cupcakes...

When I work in NY, about four days into the trip, a white, nameless box always seems to appear out of nowhere and inside are three rows of fresh sugary goodness that picks everyone up for the rest of the long afternoon.  This past trip was no exception.  I sniffed out the box towards the end of the day and found it had already been ravaged, but there was a solid 1/4 of every cupcake left - so I did what every normal person would do and decided to sample one of each.  In other words, yes, I ate the rest of the box.  Wow - semi-commercial-made chocolate cake that actually tastes like chocolate, not sugar?  Rich buttercream that actually has butter in it?  Fresh blueberries lodged in a moist vanilla cake?  I had a hard time declaring the favorite, though the unassuming strawberry number really took me by surprise in the best possible way.  The sizes aren't gargantuan so you shouldn't feel guilty indulging in a whole cupcake, or about 3, as I did.  It's almost worth the trek to Manhattan and the insane work schedule just to be rewarded with a box of these babies.  Almost.

Don't be lured in by the enticing name!

I've only sampled two cupcakes but I will never be back again!

Okay, maybe I'll give the burgers a chance, they never did anything to me, we'll see...they are definitely not top of my list!!!

Raspberry: Slightly better than the Strawberry but texture of cupcake was exactly the kind I despise, that crummy, 'bready' can separate the particles with your eyes  - 0.7/5

Strawberry cupcake: while using real fruit is commendable, this was just awful. The fruit was soggy and looked old. Too much frosting, texture (see Raspberry)  - 0.3/5

Service 0.3. So bad! The manager and cashier had an argument in front of me. The poor cashier was trying to hurry the manager up to give me my change and the woman was so rude, letting me wait a good 3 minutes, I almost walk out.

Oh second thought, I could go with a Big Mac and never look back!

Avoid!

I came here for lunch, and the food was okay.  The place was bustling, and I felt lucky to get a table.  Altogether, my meal cost me $15....eeeh, so not worth it.  I ordered their cheeseburger (and extra dollar for a small bit of cheese, really?) and a red velvet cupcake with a glass of milk ($2).  The burger was small, but I like small portions, so that was okay with me.  Other than that, it was just a standard burger, nothing of note.  As for the cupcake....the way I see it, having a bad cupcake is like having bad sex: at least you get your fix.  I feel like the cupcakes at Burgers and Cupcakes are just that, a fix, nothing special, and I wouldn't go out of my way for seconds.  The staff was friendly.

Burgers and cupcakes are 2 particular foods New Yorkers are very particular about with boutique restaurants/bakeries for both all over town.  So unless you can do BOTH exquisitely well, why try to marry the 2 concepts?

Burgers and Cupcakes is not bad - but it isn't noteworthy either.

Located in Wasteland NYC, Burgers and Cupcakes is connected to Mitchel London's pizza restaurant.  So the trifecta of pizza, burgers and cupcakes are available for order at Burgers and Cupcakes, making this place quite possibly one of the most heart-attack inducing-est places in the city.  I think if I ever saw a morbidly obese person eating here I would be mortified.

The restaurant design is ok - the seating options for larger groups require pushing round tables together which is decidedly annoying.  There is a counter that appears to be where one would go order but there's actually table service, which is mediocre at best.  I think counter service is available for to-go cupcake orders, which are displayed in a case near this seeming order-taking counter.

For a burger restaurant, the burger options on the menu are pretty ordinary and unexciting.  So boring that I in fact ordered a salad instead!  The salad I got was actually quite good as I had added grilled chicken and grilled onions/mushrooms to my salad as well as avocado and tomatoes with a balsamic vinaigrette.  The orders of fries our table shared were crispy, greasy and delicious - both in sweet potato and regular varieties.  The burgers looked pretty standard as noone at our table raved about their being particularly good, unique or delicious.

At the end of our meal we ordered a variety cupcakes.  The cupcakes were a whole lot of ok - plus points for varieties like blueberry and having actual blueberry in them.  The actual cupcakes themselves were just ok - moist but not THAT moist and not particularly outstanding in taste.  The frosting tastes a little stale if that's possible - it's not creamy and smooth but tastes like its been sitting for a while.  The combination of weird flaky stale frosting and OK cake makes for a really weak cupcake experience.

If I was gonna be a fat girl and get cupcakes and burgers, I'd march down to shake shack and then Billy's Bakery.  While the fat girl convenience of Burgers and Cupcakes is a plus, it's just not good enough to warrant my hard-earned fat girl dollars.  As the Merriam-Webster dictionary recently just added, all I can say is "meh."

This one has got me wanting to split stars, but I can't just as an FYI, I'd review it at  3 1/2, if I could.

Like the other reviewer on here, I like burgers and I really like cupcakes, a lot. So how perfect is this? Well it wasn't but, it was pretty darn good, the food that is.

Came in on a beautiful day, late afternoon place wasn't too busy, maybe half full if that. Quick friendly greeting, quick to take order. All good. We ordered a salad, two burgers, one order of fries and drinks. Added a cupcake later.

Here's where it starts to go off track, for those of you that have been there as you know they share the space with the pizza place next door. The pizza place makes the salads. They have a square pass thru with a ledge for the salads to be placed for the wait staff to pick up. Why there are tables right there is beyond me, however no one was sitting there at the time. There is also a bell on the ledge.

So the salad is up, I see it because we're in the middle row of tables, so ding goes the bell, hmm no pick up, ding again and again, I'm staring at the salad, guy at the pass thru is staring at me staring at the salad, awkward, huh?

So I get up and get the salad, then I go to the front and get silverware and napkins.  The waitress said, "oh I see you got your salad." I mumbled something like yeah, as I recall. I don't know if I was supposed to get the salad or? It wasn't explained.

It was a decent sized salad for two as an app, no problem. Our burgers came, not huge like some places, however I thought this was just fine. The quality was above average and they cooked it just right, mmm medium rare! The fries were also good and not greasy. So everything is going well, we're just about to forget about the whole salad thing.

I went upfront and picked out a cupcake to go, that arrived pretty quick. So did are check. We waited and waited to pay, and waited some more.

So my husband who is usually easy going, took his walk upfront to pay, he waited some more. He than got there attention by saying that he'd like to pay before he turn 90. Also while waiting, he noticed we were charged for 3 burgers.

Perhaps an off night...maybe. Will I go back, yes if I'm in the area while in NYC, the food was good. Just check your bill and make sure the TSA people didn't unpack your patience if you came in from out of town.

The cupcake, yeah it was good, not great. If given a choice between theirs and Crumbs, I'd pick the one from Crumbs first.

Oh yes, someone please explain the salad thing to me, are you supposed to get it or do they bring it? A simple but demanding person from Chicago needs to know.

It's 2pm. You're having a slow day at work. You check Facebook and realize it's your coworker's birthday. Everyone forgot. She looks crestfallen.

Oh, thank god for Burgers and Cupcakes. Within half an hour, two dozen fancy pants cupcakes arrive and you look like the hero. The coworker is delighted. Everyone fights over the red velvet while you move in on the double chocolate.

The cupcakes aren't that good, but $35 is a small price for your company card to pay for happiness (and a burger for your efforts).

I like burgers. I like cupcakes. Come on.

I had a turkey burger that was maybe the best turkey burger I've ever had. It wasn't treated like the bastard child of a regular hamburger.

The cupcake left something to be desired. Maybe because it was late in the day and they were closing soon, but the cupcakes weren't so great. Icing was blah and so was the flavor (red velvet). The peanut butter chocolate one was better but I was still unimpressed.

Good fries though.

I had both the burgers and the cupcakes.

I was coming back from Boston via bus and this place was conveniently right there and still open at such a late hour. Hungrily ate a burger. The burger was better than good but not best. Then, because they had some left over cupcakes at the end of the day, they gave us dessert for free. I didn't eat them that night but had them the following day. They were still good: still moist  and not too sweet. The cupcake's unique flavoring came through without being masked by butter and sugar.

It still wasn't cheap for the quality and thus it has three stars but the free dessert due to my luck makes me want to give it another half a star.

Three and Half.

HELL F**KING YEAH!!!

The service was above and beyond the call of duty.

It was kinda slow but they turned around and totally impressed the crap out of me.  I'll tell you about that soon....

I had brunch there.  The Big Boi breakfast and my gf got somekind of omelet thing.  They both tasted amazing!  The pancakes are to die for! I haven't had pancakes this good since... never!  They were fun silver dollar size pancakes maybe bigger.  It was so fluffy and tastes soo delicious.  I didn't have to add anything to it but with maple syrup it was godly!

THe place was clean and atmospshere was nice.  The people there were really nice.

Anyway about the service thing I was talking about.  There was no problem at first.  When the food came only my dish came.  So we waited a little bit, but nadda.  We asked the waitress where my gf meal was.  She was like, let me see.  Aster a small talk with another waitress she comes over.  and Apologizes profusely because she gave someone else her meal.  I was like "ugh oh man this sucks....".  Then she says I'm really sorry for everything I will be right back.  By now I already finished my food and just waiting for her's to come.  In a few minutes they come back with with another plate of delicious bacon and pancakes and her dish and tells us everything is on the house!  So yeah I might be a little biased in this review because of that but for any other restaurant owner reading this... THAT IS HOW YOU TAKE CARE OF A F**K UP.  Instead of giving attitude or giving the customer nothing but a late meal, you actually make up for what you did wrong.

We didn't leave anything for the meal cause it was on the house but we gave a her a mother load of a tip =D.

I will come back to get the burgers and cupcakes and the milkshakes.  Anyway I think this is gonna be my sunday go to place.  The place looks family run, they are just good peeps!

I have no complaints about this simple eatery.
They are called burgers and cupcakes for a reason-- they make both damn well.
The turkey burger is by far my favorite.
I'm not a big cow eater but sometimes I get turned off by how dry turkey burgers can be.
But lo and behold, this place has certainly reinvented the turkey burger. It is plump, juicy and gives as much bite as any regular beefer. Their fries are really good- crispy and not at all greasy and I've never visited without getting the sweet potato fries. The cupcakes are good- petite and delicately made. Well done.

As I am walking all over Manhattan, and I see one of those "cupcake" places I am tempted to try them, one by one.  I have tried a few of these places and my usual cupcake favorite to try is the red velvet and this one was just okay.  Nothing special for them to mention cupcake in the name of their restaurant.

Have to lay off the cupcakes for now anyway.

The name totally does this place justice- who the heck would eat burgers and cupcakes... who makes burgers and cupcakes at the same store?

I walked in and walked out.  It's cute.  Cute doesn't cut it when it's eww.

So it'd been a year since i last visited B&C, and i thought, 'hey, i'm on west 34th street, i'm starving, maybe they've improved in the past 12.5 months,' so i wandered the block or two up 9th ave.

No such luck.

The veggie burger, which on my last visit i found to be merely unimpressive, was downright vomitous. It was mostly carrot, with some other unidentifiable vegetable bits mixed in. If i wanted to eat a carrot, i'd get a damn carrot. Yuck. They replaced the giant iceberg lettuce piece with smaller salad greens of some kind, which is total bonus points except that no amount of bonus points would make the burger edible.  After a single bite, i evicted the offending patty from the bun and just had a mustard, lettuce, tomato, and onion sandwich. It wasn't very satisfying.

My dining companion ordered a beef burger, and they asked how well he wanted it cooked, so he requested medium. What he got was on the rare side of medium-rare. He didn't finish his either.

The fries are still fantastic, the cupcakes are still boring and sweet enough to give you diabetes, and the service is still so slow that you wonder if the waitstaff has gone on strike.

My advice: skip this place. If you're right there and absolutely dying of starvation, order some fries to go, and eat them while you walk to some place with better food at faster service.

We couldn't decide on where to go for dinner, but my friend suggested we go here because she loves this place. I thought that the name was weird, but we gave it a go anyways.
It was great! The burgers were huge and the toppings were all organic and fresh. It's a little costly for a burger, but they are not skimpy on the meat, and it tastes so good and juicy that i don't think people will complain too much about the price. I had the turkey burger and I can honestly say that it is the juciest turkey burger i've ever tried. I really thought all turkey burgers were dry, but not after trying this one.
The cupcake part.. well i definitely had to get a cupcake! I mean, why would i go to burgers and cupcakes without getting a cupcake? We had the red velvet with cream cheese icing. DELISH! I loved loved loved it! =)
It was moist and very tasty =)
oh one more cool thing is that it's attached to a pizza joint which they also own, so you can even order pizza too! So that was pretty awesome! If I could eat a burger AND a pizza, i totally would have! =)
Bottom line; really great casual place to just hang out and eat great burgers =)

Work about a block away from these guys so have hit them up for lunch a few times. Best to call them up with your order first because you may have to wait a rather long time if you order when you get there. That's how busy they are during lunchtimes. The proprietress is nice though and gave us some free cupcakes once when the wait was super long.

Anyway, I used to love them because they were the only burger place I've been to where goat cheese was an option. But unfortunately the burger itself is kinda small for the price and doesn't even include fries. They do have these sweet potato fries that are quite good though. The burger itself is pretty good. Better than your typical fast food fare obviously and with fresh ingredients. Now if they could only just make it a bit larger...

As for the cupcakes, I like them. Thick slather of frosting on top is enough to give you sugar shock but sometimes that's exactly what you need in the middle of the afternoon. Red velvet, chocolate and cream cheese are my preferred flavors.

A really really great salmon burger served with a crispy pickley pickle, lettuce, tomato AND onion (onion is so key). Fresh and not so big or bready that I lost the yummy fish burger in the mess. haha, fish burger.

I got the sweet potato fries. Very good. I tried the onion rings. Also good.

I will go back to try the veggie burger and the portobello burger, as anyplace that can get a salmon burger right should have those two down. I hope I like them, as I plan on adding Burgers and Cupcakes to my lunchtime repetoire and really, too many fish burgers is gross. haha, fish burgers.

Friends enjoyed their beef burgers too.

Until today I'd only ever known them as the place our office manager got the cupcakes on birthdays. Decent cupcakes. But not awesome. 3 stars when I'm feeling generous. Their cake isn't that moist, and the icing not my style. I remain loyal - nothing comes close to Make My Cake in Harlem.

It was a four star lunch, but I'm taking away a star because the prices are not the best. $6.50 for a basic burger, $1 per topping. Fries extra. Also, even though it was hectic, it took an hour and a half (!!) to get a waitress, get our food and get out. But they were nice. No hard feelings. With a name like Burgers and Cupcakes, how could I stay mad??

It's Saturday afternoon, and my boyfriend, my brother, and I were all hankering for anything that wasn't pizza around the Javits Center.  Burgers and Cupcakes seemed like an oasis.

Burgers were pretty good; we all ordered something different from the other, one picking the salmon burger, the other the portabello mushroom, and the other selecting a good ol' beef burger.  Extras were a dollar each, so adding avocado to my mushroom burger cost me an additional buck.  The burgers came with red onion, tomato, lettuce and pickle on the side, so you could just put what you want and not have to struggle with taking out the elements you don't really care for.

We bought cupcakes to go, and for $2.50 I was kind of expecting them to be pretty spectacular.  Alas, that wasn't to be.  The red velvet wasn't so red -- it looked just like a regular chocolate cupcake and that's why my friends didn't realize it was a red velvet till I told them.

I'm not a burger fan, however if cooked properly with lots of flavor and juiciness I'm down for a good burger.  Burgers and Cupcakes certainly know how burgers are prepared.  I so love how the meat is very juicy and flavorable.  Burgers and cupcakes a odd combination but I love cupcakes for dessert.  Their icing is about an inch thick which is so good.  They have knowledgable cooks who know how to prepare burgers.  Family friendly environment and good with children.

It's not too oily unlike Five Guys or NYC Burger and Co.

Can't do no wrong with this combination.

Boring me settled for the grilled lemon chicken burger (burger? sandwich?) with avocado and grilled onions, not realizing that all the extras come in a generous, heaping serving in a little basket (two tomato slices, lettuce, raw onions--the works; cheese is extra). Like... enough greens that I ended up tackling it more as a side salad than as stuffing for my burger, so props for not skimping. The chicken itself was surprisingly good for being boring ol' grilled chicken. It was a little hard to pick up the burger, though--the bun was a little too greasy, and I didn't even realize they had stuffed two things of chicken in there until I was almost done.

Not a big fries fan, but theirs were pretty good. The onion rings are HUGE and definitely meant to be shared... or eaten as a meal on their own.

Cupcake was pretty good, although the frosting was a bit too much. Size-wise, though, it's not a massive lil' sucker, so it's manageable. They had no red velvet left, but the vanilla was far from being "just plain." Nice way to round out that gut after you've devoured your burger.

They've also got pizzas (personal or one to share), milkshakes, the usual fanfare that goes with burgers. Not a bad substitute for this area if you don't feel like making the trek over to Shake Shack.

I have tried the cupcakes twice and a turkey burger with mushrooms for lunch today.  The burgers are $6.50 and each topping is $1.00 - not bad for NYC.  The burger was juicey and flavorful on an "average white" bun.

Cupcakes here really are special.  They are (IMO) better than Magnolia - and on par with Buttercup Bakery (a Magnolia ex founded Buttercup.).  Thickly iced - usually with a flavored buttercream, the cakes are moist and often cream-filled.

I have tried the Strawberry ones are terrific with fruit on the INSIDE.  Also the chocolate cake filled with whipped cream and topped with a fudge rich ganachey-better cream hybrid.

Red Velvet here is OK - but not nearly as good as the 2 aforementioned.  I liked Buttercup's RV best.

Anyhow at $2.5 a pop - they ain't cheap but so worth it for a special party or occasion.

I am a FAN!

P.S.  They make pizza at the ajoining shop next door.  Looked good but I have yet to try it.
