I've been coming to the 'Brew off and on for a couple of years.   While this place has always had a charm of it's own I must say that the renovations that are taking place are really what this place needed.

The service is always top notch and the atmosphere has always been very relaxing.  It is a great place to relax and have a good meal or sit at the bar and watch a game on tv.

The menu showcases a great selection of unique burgers and sandwiches but also features everything from Hot Wings to Rib Eye Steak (one of my favorites).  I have never been disappointed with the food and have always found the quality to be great value for the dollar.

I have to also say that this will be my stop from now on for St Pats.  The corned beef last night was some of the best I've ever had.  First Rate!

I guess I'll start out with the good; our server was really friendly and attentive and the vegetables on our burgers were surprisingly fresh.

That said, this place is surrounded by the stink of a dying restaurant. We walked in on a Friday night to a vast dining room and bar completely empty but for one table. The decor is so terrible it's almost kitschy, but the sparseness makes it fall short of that so in the end it's just depressing. The burgers were pre-made and frozen, reminiscent of what we would get in the cafeteria in junior high. The obviously not hand-cut fries had a good crunch to them, but that didn't make up for tastelessness.

I don't like to be so harsh, but I also don't understand the point in operating a restaurant if you take no pride in your food.

We dropped in on a Tuesday evening for burgers and brew.   Firstly, I was surprised at how busy they were--the parking lot was near full and, when we entered, the bar area was full as was one of the dining rooms.  I don't know what the deal was (especially since someone had mentioned coming on a Saturday evening to find it completely dead).

The service was fantastic.  We were promptly seated and our server was courteous and attentive throughout our meal.  They had popcorn available to munch on while waiting for your food (you had to get it yourself...but still...a plus for bar munchies).   We sat in the dining area, which had about as much ambiance as my beer guzzling Uncle Fred's "man room"--fortunately, however, it smelled better.  The beer selection was decent and if you're not a beer drinker, they have a full bar as well.  I ordered their cheeseburger and fries and my dining companion ordered their guacamole burger and fries.  The cheeseburger was solid--a bit ordinary, but overall fine.  My dining companion's guacamole burger was a little perplexing.  It is billed as one of their knife and fork burgers--the idea being that it is so smothered in loveliness that it would require a knife and fork to eat.  And, it did indeed come open-faced with a knife and fork, but it was completely unnecessary as it could have easily been eaten the traditional way without a problem.  The veggies on both of the burgers were fresh and my dining companion reported that the guacamole was made with fresh avocados.  The fries were decent and they offered us ketchup, ranch, or fry sauce with them (I do love when a place offers fry sauce--it's a Boise tradition).

Except for the wonderful service--overall, a sort of ho-humish experience--nothing was overly awful but nothing was terribly outstanding either.

Great food! Great service! Went here with my family the other night and had a wonderful time! It's a family friendly environment with nice flat screens all throughout the restaurant to check out any games going on.

I agree with what Georgia said, maybe not quite as harsh as junior high cafe food.  But it is forgettable and for the price you would expect more.  The beer selection is pretty good so i give it a +1 for that.
