NEWS FLASH - SEPT 22 - A fire badly damaged the popular Burger Master Restaurant in the Eight Mile area of Prichard Thursday morning. Employees scrambled for safety and customers left behind half-eaten meals....Restaurant manager Larry Brooks said that he planned to meet with his insurance company and then rebuild and reopen as soon as possible. "Other than the brick walls, it's pretty gutted on the inside," Brooks said.
Everyone light a candle please and say a prayer that the fire didn't destroy something that can't be replaced (like the grill or something). I've been eating at Burger Master since I was a little girl (that's a lot of years!) and they truly have one of the best burgers anywhere.
When they do reopen - go a patronize them - this is a local TREASURE!! This is the kind of place that needs and deserves your business.
I read about this place winning the best burger award from the local paper and had to go try it out. I was not disappointed. It is not a fancy burger hiding behind lots of toppings and dressings disguising the essence of the burger. It is a good old fashioned burger. Get the Master Burger all the way and you will be a happy camper. They also have blue plates, assorted other sandwiches, daily special, and banana pudding that looks like it was made by my grandmother. Highly recommend.
