    EXCELLENT SERVICE!

The friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff definitely sets this Burger Lounge apart from your average burger restaurant. I feel so good when I eat here.

Got the Baby Quinoa Burger, a smaller, portion-control version of the regular Quinoa Burger for those of us who want to bust our belly flubber for bikini season. Simply satisfying. Left me full at the end too. Don't be fooled by the name "Baby" - it can still make you feel like you have a food baby in your belly. Albeit a mini food baby.

The great thing is that you can customize your burger at the cash register, while you're placing your order. They'll ask if you want grilled or fresh onions on your burger, if the thousand island dressing that normally comes with the burger is okay with you, and if you want all the burger toppings. Yes, yes, and yes, I will take all of the above.

This Burger Lounge passes my burger review with flying colors. Knocking off a star because like other reviewers have mentioned, it is pricey for what it is.

Was visiting my sister and came here based on the 4 star rating this joint has. I personally think it's three at best. I got the lounge burger and an order of half and half (fries and onion rings.) The burger certainly is not a horrible burger. I like to think of it as a good version of a burger you'd get pool side on a holiday from your friend manning the grill. Not bursting with eccentric flavors- just good ol' fashion quality ingredients. Price isn't bad considering one of my favorite places in LA & OC, Umami Burger, charges $11-$12 for theirs but they're delicious.

The half and half, I'd say it was more like 2/3 & 1/3 fries to onion rings ratio. I did like them though, the flavoring was real nice.

The staff was real friendly and the place was clean. Come here if you want a no frills good ol' fashion burger. My brother got the salmon burger which I didn't try but he said it was enjoyable.

i have been to burger lounge a few times.
i think the burgers are very good, and the french fries and onion rings are very good.
however, it's overpriced.  my dining companion and i had a burger and 1 side and drink each and the bill came out to $33!!!
thank goodness we didn't have to pay a tip!

Burger Lounge is one of many trendy burger places that seem to be popping up everywhere you look.

Looking at the menu, the prices seem to be in line with other places of similar style.  While the burgers are very good, the portions seemed a little small for the price you pay which justifies others comments that it is over priced.

That staff during my visit was outstanding and for that, the 4 stars.  They were very friendly, service was quick and the place was spotless.

There is a great outdoor seating area where you're able to sit back, enjoy your food and people watch those wandering through Little Italy.

Not a bad place by any means....just not somewhere I will be rushing back to.

I've only been to two Burger Lounges, the other being in Coronado on Orange Ave. But I like this one better because of the location and size.

I love that Burger Lounge serves healthy burgers because they have patties that are 100% American grass-fed beef. It's great because the patties are thick, tender, and tasty. Given that I'm spending roughly $8 for a burger, the portion isn't as generous. But the quality is definitely there. With that said, Burger Lounge clearly focuses more on quality vs. quantity. The fries here are in my Top 10. They're thinly sliced, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. My ideal fries.

The only con would be that Burger Lounge is expensive. I'd say eating here should be an occasional, rather than a frequent visit. But I still like it nonetheless. Since it's in Little Italy, I suggest walking around and checking out the stores nearby. And if you're really adventurous, then you can walk along the water toward Seaport Village, passing the USS Midway along the way.

Though Burger Lounge has always been unmistakably overpriced, I used to come here for lunch every once in a while to enjoy a Fresh Vegetable Salad and fries. Over the course of my last few visits, however, the quality of both the food and the service has decreased considerably. Salads have occasionally contained mixed greens of dubious freshness. The fries have often times been far from crispy. The speediness of the service has also decreased, especially in the late afternoons.

Four Stars? Really?! This place was mediocre at best. It was also expensive.

The burgers are TINY for $8. They do taste pretty good, but just not worth it for the price. In N Out Burgers taste just as good if not better.

The milkshake tasted terrible. I didn't even want to drink it then my girlfriend took a sip and threw it away because she didn't like it either. An In N Out Milkshake is WAY better and cheaper. I saw another post calling Burger Lounge a more expensive In N Out and I completely agree.

I will never spend my money here again.

we live just around the corner from here, and hadn't eaten here in a long time.  Right when it opened we had a meal here that was not very good, and it's not cheap.

But - we gave you a second chance!  Veggie burger - good!  Frings - Good!  Turkey Burger - Good!  Hipster working the register in skinny jeans bending over and showing everyone his hairy butt crack - sub par!

glad we gave you another go, maybe i can bump it up to 5 stars if there is not butt crack next time.

    Yum!

Some people seem to think this is expensive.  I think it's totally worth it.  If what you want is a burger, pure and simple (but of course you can doll it up if you like) then go here.  I haven't been to other locations, only this one. O-Rings!  I go every time I'm in town.  I know burgers.  I wish I had one of these in my city!

Burger Lounge reminds me of a gourmet style of In-N-Out. They taste very similar, but the trendier Burger Lounge carries a bigger price tag. They pride themselves on their 100% American grass-fed beef, and yeah, it tastes good, but I feel like the taste is way too similar to In-N-Out. If I'm gonna be paying $8 for a burger, I expect some originality to come with it. I want something that's going to excite my taste buds, instead of wishing I went I went to my local fast-food joint and paying under $3 for a burger that's slightly greasier and similar in taste.

Yeah, Burger Lounge might have nice modern decor, organic ingredients, yadda yadda yadda... but taste-wise, there are better gourmet burgers out there, especially in San Diego.

Great little burger joint.  Itis located in Little Italy, downtown.  I usually go there during my lunch break at work, since it is just two blocks away (I tell myself it's okay to eat there often since I walk there and back). They use grass-fed beef, so that's nice, if you're into that sort of thing.  Their Belgian-style fries are amazing.  Little pricy, but not ridiculous.  It's a quality burger and the staff is great, so I have no complaints.  I have yet to try their salad, which I hear is also very tasty.

I wish I didn't work so close to this glorious spot because I eat here too damn much.

I highly recommend the turkey burger.  I normally get a side of BBQ sauce and toss a little on to it.  Their BBQ sauce is really good.

I still need to try the salmon burger, I hear mixed reactions about it.  It looks delicious though.

I'm definitely NOT a burger aficionado. In fact, the thought of burgers and fries does not do anything for me; all I can think of is a greasy caloric nightmare in between two buns. Nevertheless, every once in a great moon something happens to undermine my preconceptions. In this case, that something was Burger Lounge.

I've walked past Burger Lounge countless times, yet I always sauntered by it dismissively without even one iota of consideration. Two weeks ago, however, for whatever reason, I stopped to peruse their menu. To my surprise, I noticed they had a myriad of sandwich options, of which included turkey and veggie burgers. Last Sunday, I decided to take the plunge and ordered the Quinoa Veggie Burger, and also shared the 1/2 and 1/2, an onion ring and french fry combo that is advertised to serve two individuals, with my dining companion.

My Quinoa Burger was composed of organic quinoa, brown rice, zucchini, garbanzo, carrot, corn, and chipotle. The burger is artfully constructed in a near-perfect circular shape with all of the condiments thoughtfully placed in a precise order. It looked like a gourmet burger. I was in heaven after the first bite. I think Craft & Commerce has a killer veggie burger, but Burger Lounge's interpretation is just as awesome, in my opinion.

The onion rings and french fries were nicely prepared. I really enjoyed the fact that they were not greasy. My dining companion took umbrage with the portion size of the 1/2 and 1/2; he felt that the portion size, on a practical level, is not suitable for two people. He may be right, but I was content and satisfied after finishing.

Sandwiches are nearly $8 each, certainly above what you will pay at a run-of-the-mill burger joint. Burger Lounge is not run-of-the-mill, though. I think quality is what Burger Lounge showcases, and it's certainly apparent in the products they serve their customers.

I know there are better burger joints out there, but I'm totally a fan of this spot. Not only is it just down the street from the office, but the food is always dependable for tasting fresh and tasty... my favorite is the turkey burger, which is juicy and has a great flavor of basil, accompained by onion rings... which are honestly one of the best onion rings I have ever had. What is suprisingly really great also, are the salads, especially the spring salad. There are so many fresh veggies, and the salad is such a vibrant mix of colors and flavors; you can even get chicken or a veggy patty on the side if you want it to be more filling!

The customer service is always friendly, and I love the modern, clean decor and the option of sitting outside on the patio and people watching, especially since I can bring my pup with me for lunch. The only bad thing is that the regular burger isn't really all that, in fact it's a bit on the dry side... so I'd recommend the turkey burger or even any of the salads for a tastier meal. Nevertheless, it's always refreshing to have another option in Little Italy if you're wanting just a sandwich or pasta. So thanks BL!

I love burgers.  Burger Lounge - you are a disgrace to the burger loving community.  Really.

We came here and I ordered the basic cheeseburger (whatever their specialty one was).  I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, and white cheddar.  When it came out, I couldn't believe how small the burger was.  It was all bun and lettuce.  The tomato was not a good red color - it was kind of pinkish and the meat was only so-so.  I bit down on a hard piece.  Not GOOD!

My other half ordered the baby turkey burger.  It looked delicious but they don't kid when they call it a baby.  It looked about 3 oz.  It was so small that it was like a bite and a half.  The flavor was good, but seriously - that was way too small.

We ordered the "Half and half" which was half fries, half onion rings.  This was a pretty sorry excuse for a side.  The onion rings were sparse, and neither item was very tasty.

The service was pretty good.  They were friendly enough, but this place is not good.  It is extremely expensive for what you get and the burgers are a step below Carls Jr.  Go there instead.

In all honesty I have never had a quinoa burger before but for a vegetarian option, this one is the best!

Simple easy menu. Today I got the turkey burger and it was delicious, not dried out, I definitely recommend it.

Food comes out rather quick and the staff are very friendly, even come around to check on your throughout your meal. Its sort of a mix between fast food and a sit down restaurant without having a server. You order, sit down and your food comes to you and they clear the table when you are finished.

The people who have given this place 1 and 2 stars are completely misinformed and not speaking about the truth of this place.

I live in Little Italy and this is my go-to place after a longs days work. The order comes out very quickly. The staff is very helpful and knowledgable when it comes to the actual ideaology of the Burget lounge. Sure, it's a little trendy going green and organic and stuff but this is by far the best burger and turkey burger around. The fries are seasoned w/ sea salt and basil and are so amazing. My lady is a vegetarian and loves the Quinoa burger! She can be quoted in saying, "The house made Thousand Island dressing is the tits!". Haha.

I will go back to this place over and over and over again.

Okay, so today I have been craving a burger ALL DAY!  I went out in search of a resteraunt that would grill me a big juicy burger.  I stumble across the BURGER LOUNGE, prayers answered?
UGH, I was not impressed.  I was soo hungry that when I ordered a burger, I was expecting, um, well....   A BURGER!
For cryin out loud this burger was smaller and thinner that a McDonalds happy meal burger.  All I could taste were the condiments and the cheese.   I left this place starving and with $14 less dollars.  I should have followed my better instincts and went to Wendy's.

Btw, I dont believe or buy into all the "grass fed" "organically fed" BS.  There is absolutley no oversight to ensure these companies are offering what they claim as in the case of Burger lounge.  Its rather silly for a burger place to have this as a selling point.   People who want burgers, guess what,  they WANT A BURGER if any that hype meant anything to a consumer chances are they are VEGETARIAN!

Honestly, with all the good food downtown, I'm not sure I want to fight to find a parking spot for this Burger Lounge when the one over near/in Kensington has an actual lot you can park in. So this a-ok rating is just for this particular location, not my rating of the chain in general.

Also, this isn't reflected in my rating as it wasn't their fault, but driving across town with the burger before I ate it was a bad idea. Burger Lounge deserves to be eaten while hot...it's exponentially better that way.

But as always, I dig the decor, I dig the ethos and I really dig the friendly service.

I wanted to wait to write a review for Burger Lounge because the first time I came here, I wasn't terribly impressed.  But since I actually want to be fair and balanced, one more shot before I pass judgment!

So I know Burger Lounge's whole premise is grass-fed beef, but honestly I could care less about any of that.  What matters to me is whether I like how the beef tastes when I eat the burger, and this is the main reason why I'm only giving 3 stars.  Don't get me wrong, the Grilled Lounge Burger is a quality burger (and a lot better with grilled onions) and I could definitely taste the freshness in the burger itself, but I feel like it could do with a little more flavor in the beef.  You know how there's that moment when something explodes in your mouth on first bite?  Yeah, I don't get that here.  Furthermore, it's also a bit more expensive than I think it should be.

The fries were good, but I thought they could do with some extra flavoring as well.  They really need to give more fries considering how much they charge for them.  Onion rings are clutch and on-point though.

The only thing that really annoys me about coming to this particular location is that it's Little Italy and parking.  And I thought the parking in PB got bad...boy I was wrong.  Shame too, because I like how nice and quaint Little Italy is.

In the end, it's a quality meal and I'm not going to be dissatisfied coming here.  But I feel like I don't get what I pay for at the price I pay for it.  Otherwise, I'd give 4 stars rather than 3 stars.

The selection is solid, the burgers are done at a juicy medium, and the onion rings are super legit. I haven't gotten a milkshake here in forever, but I remember those were really good too! The red velvet cupcake is only okay, in my opinion. With all the pop up cupcake stops these days, its not hard to find one that tastes better.

Solid office lunch break stop, not sure if it'd be a good dinner stop. It is a little pricey for burgers, but its not like you're eating shoddy big macs.

Strolled on in to soak up a Chargers win last Sunday. The burger was bigger than I had expected. So much better than anything you would receive from a McDonald's type place.
The Fries were good but there was just something about them Onion Rings that really hit the spot.

I ate at the Kensington location a year or two ago while trying to find San Diego's best burger: Burger Lounge, Hodad's, and Rocky's with Rocky's winning the gold medal from my taste buds. (But I have since discovered that the burger at Tower 23 in PB has a flavor bursting burger that is a must try!)

I ordered the burger medium rare, half onion rings, half fries, and a Virgil's Root Beer. Very pricey at $17 and change but you get what you pay for.  The service was friendly.  One of the employees even got me some "house made" barbecue sauce that complemented the fries well.
The root beer had a subtle taste, not overwhelming like many root beers; I would definitely recommend it.

There is a decent sized patio so you can people watch (Little Italy) or enjoy the sunny SD weather.

In short, Burger Lounge has good service, tasty food selections, and an enjoyable Little Italy location.

This place has a pretty basic menu, but the burgers are well worth the trip. Not the best burger I have ever had, but really tasty and not too heavy on the stomach. My friends rave about this place and the burgers are lean and hit the spot, but Hodad's & Rocky's are still the best in my opinion.

The buns are made fresh on the premises and really lean. I like the white cheddar cheese option. They grill the burgers on a very hot grill so the patty has a caramelized outer surface and moist and juicy on the inside. The standard burger comes with Lounge Bun, Crisp Lettuce,  Fresh Tomato, House-Made 1000 Island, Organic Cheese - White Cheddar or American, Fresh or Grilled Onion. Their burgers are 100% American Grass-Fed Beef and they also have a All Natural Turkey with fresh basil. The patties are 6 oz and cooked to a medium heat unless otherwise specified.

Other menu items include Quinoa Veggie Burger (Organic Quinoa, Brown Rice, Zucchini, Garbanzo, Carrot, Corn, Chipotle), Chicken Tenders, Wild Salmon Burger (Wild Alaskan Salmon, Fried Green Tomato, House-Made BBQ Glaze) and Crispy Chicken Tenders (Served "on a stick", Panko Crusted with House-Made Buttermilk Ranch or BBQ). They have a few different salads, fries and onion rings (you can order a 1/2 & 1/2 that serves two people). Drinks include fountain soft drinks, beer & wine, floats and chocolate/vanilla shakes.

The onion rings are crisp and flavorful and not greasy at all. Fries I rate about average. The shakes are killer! They give you a large portion and use Dreyer's Ice Cream. Never tried the salads because that's not why I go to a burger joint. I eat at the Little Italy location and the staff seems to be attentive and friendly.

This is a healthy conscious burger joint that has great tasting burgers that don't put you in a food coma. Most people will probably need to includes some side dishes if you want to feel full. A burger, onion rings and shake hit the spot just right for me!

YUM! That's the highest praise I can give for a burger joint. Love this place. Their veggie burger is the best ever. It can get a little messy, but still the yummiest. I love their fries too...their service is also excellent. I have never had a bad experience at the three locations I've been to. Mostly the places are small, so you can only bring a few friends. Especially the one in Coronado...it's tough to get a seat there. I've tried a lot of the "best burger" places in town, and I still think that Burger Lounge is better. The quality of their food is top-drawer and the taste is stellar. I'll keep comparing BL to the others, but I always end up going back to BL because they just give good burger!

Great food.   Terrible service.   We have ordered take out several times and it usually takes about twice the time they quote you, but this time was ridiculous.   Quoted 5-8 min.   Gave them 15 min..  Got to the front door and about 10 people in front of me.   Spent 20 min waiting for one cashier to clear the line while 8 other employees stood around.   One was sitting at the counter,  one standing drinking a soda and several others just hanging out.  UTILIZE BOTH REGISTERS WHEN THERE IS A LINE OUT THE DOOR,  EMPLOYEES HANGING OUT IN PLAIN SIGHT AND ONLY 3 TABLES IN THE PLACE.  Sadly,  we will have to find another place for take out on our lunch hour.

Pass on the vegan burger.  Good fries.  Good onion rings.

Love their burgers and their green approach! It's delicious and I love the fries and onion rings! I tried the red velvet cupcake there once, not so great.. but doesn't matter because I happily fill up on their burgers and fries.

I have seen people getting salads there recently.. not sure why. Never tried it, never would want to.. This is a burger joint!!!

Location is great too and they allow dogs which is also a plus for me! Definitely the place for burger lovers.

Why are they stingy with ketchup?!?! We asked for extra, and got an extra thimbleful! Other than that delicious burger!

The turkey burger is delicious, fries and onion rings are tasty, but skip the veggie burger if you can... it turns into mush.

    I. Love. Burgers!!!  I love trying burgers everywhere the bf and I travel.  I found this place on Yelp, of course.  ;)  I had the Lounge Burger and the bf had the Wild Salmon Burger.  Both were good!  Juicy, flavorful, and worth the money.  We also got half fries and half onion rings, but in my opinion just get the fries alone or the onion rings alone.  Cause the half and half is really mostly just fries.  I would have rather had the fries alone.

I use to be a fan of burger lounge until I had a HORRIBLE experience! I went for lunch and lady messed up my order (no big deal), she failed to enter part of it.

When the rest of my order was ready I went to pay the additional amount to the cashier, she said "No it's ok, don't worry about it" That left me under the impression that it was complimentary since they messed up.

When I proceeded to leave (with my co-workers) the woman chased me an entire block to my car to inform me I failed to pay for part of my order. The entire thing was incredibly embarrassing especially since I attempted to pay.

Overall the food is okay but not worth the price! Get a burger elsewhere :)
