Review from Grey D.
San Diego, CA
Soo, I had the unfortunate luck of having to visit El Centro in the month of July. No offense- great city but man is it HOT!
From walking distance of my hotel were numerous offerings for food but when given a choice I always prefer BK. Something about the charbroiled flavor of the burgers and especially the onion ring option that keeps me coming back.
This time, I was in luck- they were offering a special "A-1" burger, featuring the eponymous sauce and frizzled onions topping a huge 7 oz patty of their signature charbroiled flavor. With onion rings and a medium coke, my selection ran less than $7
For a "convenience food" burger I was not disappointed- man this was huge like something your uncle cooks on the back porch during your family reunion. Being far removed from my family, the memories were appreciated. Sorry, but this burger blows In and Out out of the water- no comparison.
Bottom line- a burger like uncle Sonny makes on the 4th of July in the backyard. Huge, filled with evocative flavors of a home cooked burger. Fast it was; fast food it was not. Having a penchant for onion rings over fries (given a choice) I must rate this experience at four stars, with BK remaining my favorite "convenience burger"
(note: I am the one who coined the term "convenience food" as a marketing euphemism over the banal "fast food" ((which unfortunately implies negative connotations with quality- not applicable in this case)). -

It's pretty much the same as any other Burger King. Clean enough, a little slow on the service, even when they're not busy. The drive-though always gets it right and is a bit faster than inside.
