Review from Galvin C.
I was in the area looking for Sassy's Sliders, a high-class White Castle I had stumbled across by accident a year earlier, but found only "Burger Heaven" in its place. I must have circled the block a half-dozen times before accepting the fact that Sassy's must be gone, and now, tired from walking and burger-starving from wanting a burger, I had only this cheesy-sounding place to console me. Not only were the chances extremely low that Burger Heaven would live up to its lofty title, but it probably wouldn't even be my favorite Heaven-themed restaurant. (That would be an Asian restaurant in my hometown of Reading, PA, "Panda Heaven II," whose name raises questions both theological and more practical--there's a "Panda Heaven I" somewhere?)
Despite the circumstances, however, my burger ended up being pretty tasty. I guess your standard diner burger (nothing wrong with that), but for some reason I found it extra enjoyable. I'm not usually a dessert person, but the burger had put me in a good mood, so I ordered up some cheesecake to finish off the meal, and mmmmmm-mm. Of course, I can never give a restaurant too much credit for its cheesecake, since I honestly don't think I've ever met a slice of cheesecake I didn't like. (Including the prepackaged Eli's slices Arby's used to sell for dessert, anyone else remember that?) Still, I did enjoy my visit to Burger Heaven, even though it was not only a last-minute substitute for what I really wanted to eat, but was actually built on its demolished remains. Given how uncompromisingly specific my cravings can get, that's not an easy trick to pull off. -

Don't be fooled by the name. They have much more than burgers. It's basically an awesome diner. I tried the turkey burger. WOW. Delicious! I also ordered the sweet potato fries....no ketchup required. These fries are deeeeelicious. Extremely fast service.
It's funny how people are bitching about this place. It's a DINER people. GET OVER IT! If you want a gourmet burger, go to a gourmet restaurant. -

Burger Heaven - no, it is Burger Third Circle* of Dante's Inferno. The clue should have been when it was almost empty on a Friday night. In theory, this is the place that you go to wanting a simple burger & onion rings. Reality, over priced, bad service - screwed up order and below average food. And if you are stupid like me and order the $4.50 house red wine, well then just save yourself the trouble and slap yourself now. Hint BEER goes with Burger Joints - repeat - BEER.
Me: cheddar cheese burger deluxe - substitute onion rings for $1.00 extra. And the "Red Wine" (actually, I think that it was unused salad dressing)
C: Sloppy Joe.
Verdict: my burger came naked. I asked where the lettuce, tomato and onion were. The server looked at me and said "but you ordered deluxe" I said yes, I did. He said "oh, I'll have to bring those separately" finally, he did. Burger below average. Onion rings thick, greasy batter - in a word - bleech.
C: said that the sloppy joe was good. I didn't taste it.
Total dinner for two $35.00 plus tip. Ouch! Not worth it. I have heard that the patty melt is good, too bad I'll never know. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I'll check out Sliders next door - lower on atmosphere and price but not much seating.
* Literary reference: Third Circle - Cerberus guards the gluttons, forced to lie in a vile slush made by freezing rain, black snow and hail. This symbolizes the garbage that the gluttons made of their lives on earth, slavering over food. Dante converses with a Florentine contemporary identified as Ciacco ("Hog" -- probably a nickname) regarding strife in Florence and the fate of prominent Florentines. (Canto VI) -

Burger Heaven is perfect for when you are craving crappy fast food and want to be pleasantly surprised by something better. Skip the mac and cheese, which is kraft velveeta with bread crumbs thrown on top.... homemade? really? Kind of a stretch.
Really fast delivery all over the UES. Literally 20 minutes. Plus they have online ordering, so if you're anything like me and find joy in the blissful anonymity and laziness of the internet.... click away on Menutopia and kick back (but not too hard, since the food will get there before you even have time to get comfortable). -

The burgers were okay, but like the previous reviews, I had higher expectations given the name of the establishment. For the price of a cheeseburger deluxe with bacon ($15), it's a bit overpriced.
On a positive side, I ordered it to go and the service was very quick. -

I was in the mood for a regular-old American hamburger and for some confounded reason chose not to go to Shake Shack. Never again.
We ordered online through Seemless Web and were informed that the delivery would take 15 minutes. After 40 minutes I called to check in and had an extremely difficult time communicating with the woman on the other end of the line. She said the food would be there in 5 minutes. After 10 more minutes, I called back. She assured me it was on its way. We waited an hour total for a burger and a sandwich.
When the food arrived it was lukewarm at best. Our Philly Cheese STEAK came with... no steak on one half of the sandwich! My burger didn't have the right condiments on it. If I can't have pickles on my burger I'm really not interested.
When I called back they were supremely unhelpful. They refused to give me a rebate on my order or give me a coupon for next time. He finally told me he would replace my order if he could have someone come pick up the first order to check that it was actually wrong. I wasn't in the mood to wait for another hour and declined the 'offer.' Never again! -

Overpriced, not a burger joint (more like a diner), decent cheeseburger (but sometimes very dry patty) and ultra-greasy fries. Skip and go to Goodburger if you can.
Now for the long version... The first thing that I noticed was that this is a sit and order place, not a order and wait for your number - this was the first sign that this wasn't really a burger place and it made the place a little pricier since we had to tip. The menu is huge: there's burger, pasta, omelets, toasts, grilled cheese, pancakes, it's basically a diner menu. We, being in "Burger Heaven" ordered burgers. I went with a "deluxe" cheeseburger (beef, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, fries), my wife ordered the regular bun-and-beef burger. It's worth noticing that we were expecting a pretty good burger for the price range (I think the deluxe cheeseburger cost me ~USD12, without drink).
The burger came and the diner sensation hit again: my deluxe burger came open, with a huge lettuce leaf on top and two thick tomato slices, as it was clear that I could just assemble that into one cheeseburger. But wasn't the worse part - the fries were. They were still oil-wet and therefore very, very, very greasy. We had to load up on ketchup to make them edible.
The good news is that my beef patty wasn't bad, it was nicely cooked and a little moist inside. My wife's wasn't - it was very, very dry. At that point, we gave up, ordered the check and left. Maybe we shouldn't have ordered a burger on "Burger Heaven"?
Total for a deluxe cheeseburger, one regular burger and one large soda: USD 26 (with tip). -

I just ordered from these guys on seamlessweb. I've been to other Burger Heaven locations in person and was never super-impressed, but this one was especially unimpressive. The best thing I can say about them is that they delivered promptly.
The fries were not very fresh or enjoyable, the seamlessweb receipt showed that I ordered lettuce, tomato, and onion but none were delivered, and the burger (ordered medium) was on the rare side of medium rare.
All this great service and food for only $15! Jackson hole is a better bet around here..and that's not saying much. -

The simplest way to put it is, I've had better, but I've had worse. It's a standard diner you'll find in Anytown, USA. I went here for lunch on Saturday afternoon, mainly because we were intrigued by the name. Any establishment that can call itself Burger Heaven had better have a darn good burger to fall back on.
My first gripe was that it took five or six minutes for our server to get to the table. By the time he did, we were ready to order (which was ok because we only had about 45 minutes). The price for a burger with American cheese was about $7.35, but if you want lettuce or tomato, you have to add an extra dollar. Also, fries are not included unless you order the deluxe plate which was another $2 or $3. I thought that was kind of cheesy, pardon the pun. I also split an order of curly fries and there were plenty on the plate for both of us.
The best part about Burger Heaven was the speed that the food came out. It was less than five minutes from the time we placed our order, if that.
I was impressed by the variety on the menu, but the prices seemed a little high for the quality.
I'll probably try it again for breakfast sometime. -

It's a disappointing place. It looks and sounds like a great place to catch a diner-style burger but, unfortunately, it is not.
I ordered the burger medium and it was pink and dry at the same time... how do you do that? The fries were good and dirty, like I like them, but the overall platter was not worth the $12 dollars I paid for it. The staff are not well trained or managed. The staff looked sloppy and they did not follow through with us at all. I ordered my burger special which means cole-slaw and pickles... I had to wait and look around for the waitress then flag her down to remind her of our order. But by this time she reappeared from the back we were more than half way done with our burgers. -

The burgers are ok, but not the best in the city. If you can, sit up at the breakfast bar, the service is pretty prompt. It's a diner, so expect diner food and quality. It's very clean inside.
I feel its very overpriced and just ok.
That's just my opinion... Oh, they do have sweet potato fries that are my favorite. -

Mistakenly ordered take out and received a soggy burger and tuna melt. I'll never go or order again. Gross.

This was a good tasting, value priced DINER. Service was casual but friendly and quick. The mozzerella sticks were good (but how can you screw that up?) and the chicken pita wrap with yogurt was delicious but not the most fulfilling chicken pita I've had.
My friend's burger looked great - she enjoyed how they gave you three plates of mushrooms, onions and coleslaw - control your onions to mushroom ratio... sweet!
Its a good neighborhood place and not that crowded. Its not worth traveling more than 5-10 blocks for, but if you want a quick casual meal with good service, I recommend it! -

Very good service. Fair prices. Kid friendly and very accommodating. Sent my fountain soda back for being flat and they gave me a can instead. Most places would just pass off another fountain pour. Now, granted, this isn't La Tour D'argent, but it's 5 stars for what it aims to be. The other reviewers are being way too hard on this place and they can join the other sheeple in line at the Fat Shack.

I'll give them 3 for the pretty good patty melt- but no more because they are ridiculously overpriced for the quality of food. I've actually been avoiding going here because of the price- but decided to splurge one day- I probably won't go back, it wasn't that good... and that woman who hands out menus at 86th St. to the people come home from work- COME ON- how annoying is that? Her job sucks.

This place was "alright" in the block you have a choice of fast food, coffee and donuts or this place. We were real hungry and there wasn't really anything in the area. The prices are a bit steep. I got the cheapest thing I could find on the menu which is the Philly Cheesesteak. It wasn't that bad. It was filling. The hero was perfectly toasted. Right amount of swiss cheese. I wished that there was more meat though rather than tons of onions.

Love Burger Heaven and chose to write a review about this one since it is the location my family and I visit most often.
If you are looking for a low key place to go with your children or just to hang out with friends, this is the place to be. They give children a Disney themed coloring page and if they love it, they put it up on their wall. If it is a slow day (usually a Sunday), they even give the children balloons.
The prices are on the higher scale but the service that you receive in this place is amazing. I would pay double what they charge for everything to be honest with you. It's New York City and the Upper East Side, if you want low prices, go to El Barrio.
The Chicken Fingers here are delicious and ordering the Sweet Potato Fries is an absolute MUST! I usually order the Burger Heaven burger while my wife orders the Turkey Burger, both are great. There is an oreo shake that my girls love. I am a personal fan of the good old fashioned chocolate shake which I only allow myself to have twice a year.
I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Just go in knowing that it isn't a cheap establishment but the prices are well worth it. -

i hope i'm reviewing the correct location.
yes it's just a diner, but the sweet potato fries are amazing, the veggie omelet was very tasty (my friend ordered it and i kept stealing bites), and for some reason the seven grain toast that came with my meal was so friggin' good i'd actually go back for more.
great variety. not just burgers.
mostly this place gets 4 stars 'cause as soon as we ordered the owner handed us each a print out from a coloring book of ponies and several boxes of crayons, color pencils, and oil pastels. the other 5 people in our party had to wait for me after dinner cause i ddin't want to leave without finishing coloring. sorry guys. the owner kept coming back to our table to chat and give us tips on coloring (he has a whole wall covered in other customer's creations as well as his own.)
very friendly manager (?). very yummy diner food. i love this place! -

Their buffalo burger was alright. The sauce that it came with was too tangy or strong for my taste. My egg cream was too chocolatey (I'm the only one that would probably complain about that). The service was satisfactory. Overall I would probably come back here for a cheap, casual lunch. There are a lot of other restaurants to choose from on this street actually, but if you want a super casual diner setting with decent food, this is your place.

Burger heaven is whack. But they do make a FREAKIN EXCELLENT sloppy joe, the only one on the ues. Get it without the cheese and with the bun on the side (otherwise it gets real soggy) and you have yourself an excellent sloppy joe (albeit for like $13).

Wow, I really don't like to do this, but the place forced my hand....so here it goes!
I can't believe I passed up going to Shake Shack with no line for this place! I chose this place before its close proximity to the AMC theater next door, since we were planning on going to watch a movie and thought it was the most convience place for getting some food. The place from the outside looked nice, decorated like a standard diner that would have frequent patrons. However, once inside, we realized it was seat yourself and somehow find your own menus and waiters kind of deal. It took a little to track down the menus then a little more time to track down the waiters... Things were not going well....next we ordered some standard issue food items, though prices were not standard... (everything was over $10! felt like times square a little). When my fish and chips came, it resembled something that even Gorton would deny from his own product line! The chopped salad with grilled chicken was edible, definitely hard to mess that up...but at the price of about $14, I think expectation were a lot higher. All in all, I feel like I've now wasted more of my time in blogging this, but figured it would be best for the yelp community to hear this gripe! -

Decent place for late night junk food cravings. They have a pretty decent grilled cheese sandwich, and the prices are very fair. The delivery is also very fast. The other food I've had here is really just ok. I mean, it hits the spot, but there are a lot of other places to go for a good burger or sandwich. It's pretty much diner quality, which isn't bad, but it's not the best. OH, one more thing, the steamed veggies are pretty good as a healthy side.

slow service, overpriced food (chopped salad for 16 bucks, fish n chips for 14...), only good thing about this place is it's close to a movie theater.. I would never eat in this restaurant again!
