Best damned commercial burgers I have had in a long time (they do need a steak sandwich). The veggies are always fresh, the avocado is ripe and the peppers are spicy! The OPEN GRILL area lets you see them cooking, and you know they didn't drop your food and you can see the place is clean (even considering it is a burger joint)

Get the House Burger or the Ultimate Cheese Burger, and you better take a friend. These Monster burgers are HUGE, just like you would make at home. My burgers are shared with my wife and we get full sharing a burger, order of sweet potato fries and we each get a drink for just under $5 each.

For a small Dive-y place they have a really full menu, THAT INCLUDES A HUGE SALAD FOR YOU RABBITS OUT THERE! They have Gyros, Burgers, Salads and Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches to just name a few. The AC is usually playing catch up to the grill which does kill a star, but the buttery sweetness of the Sweet Potato Fries, gets it right back!!

There is an In and Out, McD's, Sub Joint and Taco Salad Joint very near by... They all lose out to the fresh cooked flavor of a fire grilled hamburger, sweet potato fries and cold sodas. Why eat preformed garbage that could sit on an unrefrigerated shelf for years without degrading or loosing color; when you can eat freshly hand pressed/sliced meat and veggies? Ever see that picture of the 2 year old Hamburger and Fries from the 4 leading fast food shops (http://officiallyscrew...) Copy that link and see if you recognize your last fast food meal!? I will never eat a preformed frozen plasticine burgers again!

Today 05/24/2012, we had the Chicken Cesar Salad, not bad, I wold give the freshness 4 stars, chicken 3, I like char on my chicken so cooking is a 5 and the wait time was minimal so 4 there... average **** out of 4 stars.

The short story is that this place serves very good burgers at a very good price.  Great selection, cooked when you order them, and if you haven't heard from other reviews, the burgers are HUGE!  Probably about 8 inches in diameter, and the patty actually is as big as the bun.  Fries are very good, and the onion rings are large, crispy, and tasty.
They put 1,000 Island dressing on every burger by default, which is somewhat odd, but it really lends a great dimension to the burger.  If you don't like it, ask that they don't put it on - simple. (The service here is friendly and quick - very efficient)
So far I've tried the Jalapeno burger, and the Blue Cheese burger - both were awesome.  Definitely will be back.
Beware of the lunch rush during the workweek - if you aren't there before 11:30 or after 12:30, you might wait maybe 10 minutes to order your burger.  Either way, it is definitely worth the wait - get in there and try it!

Today my co-worker and I had lunch here. We we're in awe of the size of the burger.
I ordered a regular cheeseburger - I loved every bite, I just coudn't finish the entire thing!
I loved that the burger was made medium rare - it was very tasteful although a bit greasy.. but hey it's a burger. I had a couple fries and absolutely loved the seasoning they added on top. The place itself was nice - we came in right around 1pm and it was kinda full - who would've thought?

If you're looking for that hole in the wall burger place - Burger Bueno is it.

They could use a better name but eh it is what it is.

The gf and I decided to try a new burger spot and hit up yelp to help guide us.  Initially w/out the use of yelp we listed the places we could go i.e. in n out, smashburger, jakes, jc burger house, mooyah.  Anyways, we couldn't decide so we yelped a new spot and burger bueno was it.

Small place, empty when we go there.  Simple menu of burgers and for a moment I was tempted to get a gyro but I didn't.  We ordered 2 jalapeno burgers with okra and sweet potato fries.  Burger was cooked fresh to order and came out quick (since we're the only ones there).  Whoa, burger was surprisingly huge and more delicious than expected.  It was juicy and the grilled onion and jalapenos were absolutely delicious.  Just writing about it make me want one!!!  The okra was good as was the sweet potato fries but the burger was the BOMB (can we still say that in the 21st century?)

Though I do like me a good cheap in n out burger, i suggest you give this mom and pop burger joint a shot.  I'm definitely going to put this place in my rotation.

Small place but has a good burger and size for ~$8. Worth a try. Yes In and Out burger is around the corner but these burgers are bigger and better and the fries actually have taste something In and Out has not figured out yet. Support a local business not a hyped California chain! I checked in on yelp and got a free drink.

Although I drive by Burger Bueno all the time during my commute, I've been here only twice. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try them. I finally did once In-n-Out moved in and some online reviewers pointed out BB's quality. I love In-n-Out--I'm a native Californian--but Burger Bueno is the kind of place you go if you want a really tasty, luscious burger instead of fast food. I had their jalapeno burger on my first visit. It was heaven on a bun, but I couldn't move afterwards; the burgers are HUGE and taste worth every (affordable) penny. I took my daughter here as well, and she loved it, although she likes her burgers only with condiments. The fries were very good, although I've had better.

The service is all right. The lady at the counter is very courteous and attentive, but I've never seen her as friendly as other reviewers indicated. But that's neither here nor there. Go for the burgers and enjoy. It's not made for a family with small children; there's no place to put a kid's seat on the stools. The ventilation system is also pretty noisy. Otherwise, it's one of the best burger joints you'll find in Dallas.

This is really a 4.5-4.75 place.  The burgers are great, fresh and the fries are solid.  It is everything a basic burger joint should be.  Owned by a family, decent prices, and food is very tasty.  I would say also that the burgers are huge!!  And I mean huge.  Go with your hunger as that is definitely what you need to finish these bad boys.

The joint is small and in a corner.  From the outside it doesn't look like much and the only reason I went here was on a friend's recommendation that they have the best burgers in town.  I'm not positive about that, but I agree they are absolutely top notch.

I will first start with the good...the Ultimate cheeseburger my hubby ordered was awesome! The service was great and the price for the amount of food you get is pretty darn good!

So now the bad...If you have little ones that need to be in highchairs think twice before coming. They don't have any booths or regular tables. It's all bar height which makes it difficult to feed your little one and plus they can't interact with you. My toddler was not happy with this.

I also wasn't impressed with my Mushroom burger. This is my usual at any burger place and I can honestly say that this has been my least favorite. They use cheddar cheese instead of Swiss which may have been my fault for not requesting it. The blend of the two does not go as well as it does with Swiss. Now I know why they put Swiss and mushrooms together.

The fries were OK. Nothing spectacular. I don't ever complain about fries because I love them but they didn't taste fresh to me.

If we are in the area we might give this place another try. But if we don't that's okay too.

I had a feeling this place was going to be good when I walked in the door and saw and heard food being grilled right behind the counter, but I was wrong, because Burger Bueno turned out to be better than that.
This place is right next to In-N-Out Burger, which I ate a day early and who's tiny so-called "burgers" and "fries" taste like cardboard in comparison.
To start off, the food here is gigantic and there are a ton of menu options. Me and my boyfriend split the chicken jalapeno sandwich and it was so juicy and smokey and delicious that we decided to try a gyro with a side of fries to top it off. Suffice to say, it was the best gyro I've ever had (in my limited gyro eating experience). The fries surpassed expectation as well. I keep getting sub-par fries everywhere I go (Denny's, In-N-Out Burger) so these were a warm and welcome change.
In the end I'm glad I didn't go with my cravings for Jack in the Box tacos, but came here instead. The food was truly "bueno".

I have heard good things about this burger place and figured I would give it a try.  My first instinct was to go balls out and get their fully loaded ultimate cheese burger, but I figured I wanted to get something where I could tell if it truly was a good burger.  I ended up getting the jalapeno burger because well, I love jalapenos.

After my first bite I sat there in amazement, not wanting to take another bite in fear that my mouth was playing a trick on me.  Could it really be this good?  Well, let me tell you...it was.  Without a doubt, this is the best burger in the area.

Better than the fast food burger joint that just moved in from California, not as greasy as Jakes, and not as expensive as Twisted Root.

Even though Lucy P. is cute, I have to disagree about the fries.  I thought they were pretty tasty.  I also had the fried jalapenos, and even though the ranch isn't fresh, they were pretty darn good.

    I will be back.

Could someone please answer me this, why is this place rated so high?  I gave this place two tries because i live so close and it was rated so high.  After the terrible experience I thought to myself that they cant let me down a second time, but i guess i was wrong.  Others have raved about the burgers, they were OK at best.  The older man behind the counter works in what seems to be like slow motion.  They also need to take a bottle of bleach to most of the counter space.  The food is not worth the wait.  Please just go to the crappy in and out burger next door.  And once again i always like to address the owners if they read up on these reviews.  Please clean your counters and restroom, people judge your cleanliness on the restroom, im a guy and was grossed out by what i saw.

The first time I try a burger, I always go with the single patty cheeseburger. Although they have several specialty burgers, I went with my norm. All the burgers come standard with Thousand Island dressing. I'm not into Thousand Island so I got it without the dressing and got mustard instead. When I took my first bite, my first thought was, this tastes like a homemade burger...in a GOOD way. Meat was delicious....veggies were fresh. I will definitely be back to try the gyro and olive burger!

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that I wasn't crazy about the fries. They were thin, and by the time we got them home they were kind of cold and tough.

This place beats out In N Out by a mile!!

My second Yelp review!  I chose Burger Bueno because it has lots of great reviews and I was in the area. I decided to go for the highly recommended avocado burger and sweet potato fries. I am going to have to ditto the recommendations. The meat was grilled well and was juicy  the vegetables (avocado, romaine, tomato and onion) tasted fresh. The fries were yummy and almost addictive.
I splurged and had a mango soda. It was a filling meal that I enjoyed at the bar.
    You too must try it.

GREAT burgers!  The burgers are huge and the best in town.  Remember to check in for a free drink.  The atmosphere is not that great, especially if you have small kids.  The staff are not that freindly, you'll probably never see a smile...but the food will make up for it.  The fries are great ONLY if you eat them there.  They don't hold up if they have to travel to the house.  This place is right by the brand new in-n-out burger ... go to Burger Bueno & you'll be glad you did.  Much better than in-n-out!  I'll be back many times and I'll be taking all my friends.

Giant burgers for under $6.  Sweet Potato Fries.  Stuffed Jalapenos.  Mexican sodas. Free Wireless.  and all of it tastes fantastic.  There is nothing about this place I do not love.

Sorry for the short review but sometimes in the face of sheer awesomeness words fail me.  I wish this place was located in Vallejo because if it was I would eat here constantly.  Then again, it's probably a good thing it's all the way out in texas because otherwise I'd be morbidly obese by the time I had my fill of the place.

As many already know, In N Out Burger is opening in the same parking area. What many may not be aware of is that for the last couple of years they have already had way better options than In N Out Burger.

Burger Bueno delivers a very interesting spin on your ordinary burger joint. The selection on the menu is enough to trap you there for a months worth of lunch outs and still come out trying something new each time.

    I like this place!

Family operated and very friendly. If you ask me it beats a lot of other places nearby.

I ate here a couple of months ago while staying in Dallas at the for a business trip, it was near my hotel, had pretty good reviews and was really the only place nearby so I decided to check it out.  I wasn't expecting much from the area and was just hoping to get a halfway decent burger to hold me over but I was very very pleasantly surprised by the several aspects of this restaurant.

The QUALITY of the food was fantastic... Fresh veggies and toppings, fresh, juicy burgers and I liked the criss cut fries

The CLEANLINESS of the restaurant was spot-on which is a big deal for me (not to be expected from the location, dont mean to sound snobby but)

The PRICE was excellent for the quality and portions served

I would like to see "fried egg" as a topping and I would also like to see a few less things on the menu, initially made me feel like I was in a place that served anything and everything rather than specializing in burgers...

Overall, I would definitely eat there again and will hopefully get the chance on my next trip to Dallas

oh yeah...not a very good name for a burger place

Mammoth-sized burgers for carnivores on a budget! All of their burgers have 1/2 lb patties... I had one with sautéed mushrooms for only $5.45 + free lg drink w/ check-in. The patties themselves, though, don't offer a kick to your tastebuds. BUT, the crispy and fresh veggies (green lettuce, tomato, and mushrooms) and nicely toasted bun made the experience well worth the 6 bucks. Plus, the burger overall was not too greasy. This burger joint, hands down, beats the In N' Out next door!

I originally went to Burger Bueno when Joe F's lone review was all it had going for them. It's in my hood, so I had driven past it hundreds of times.

Over my handful of visits I've tried a couple of burgers and the gyro. It's affordable, tastes pretty good, and close by.

Avocado burger doesn't skimp on the good stuff. (the avocado, duh) Gyro was satisfying when I wanted something filling after a long day of work. My pita bread was soft, there was a good portion of meat, and the sauce was tasty.
Fries are...waffle and not as good as CFA, but I mean, yeah, they are fries. I could probably do without them, but I like having something to break up the burger or gyro.

Dining in has been a meh experience for me, as the set up of the soda fountain is odd. You step behind the drink case to fill er up. In the summer, their a/c isn't the best, so things get sticky from the grease in the air. And by things, I mean everything. Condiment bottles, chairs, tables, you name it. Maybe it was a 1 time thing, but I didn't enjoy getting warm and perspiring during my lunch.

I'm good with getting in to grab some food and getting out.

Love this place. American food with a little middle eastern thrown in a long with every jarritos mexican soda you could ask for.
Their mushroom cheddar burger( I think it's called) is aaamazing. I love fried pickles and zucchini but I just don't like them here. They are too thick and greasy and I don't like the breading.
They're burgers are great, I haven't tried anything else their. Really good food for the price. The times I've been it's never been crowded.

I used to live in Richardon and drive down 75 to work.  so i have passed this place thousands of times.  one day i was hungry for a new burger so i stopped in.  here is the downlow:

The Good: Burgers are HUGE and cheap.
The Bad:  "outdoor seating"  means two tables right off of coit.
Bottom line:  if you want an ok burger that is big and only $5 this is the place.  if you are looking for the best burger you have ever had, continue onto 75

3 stars: i am not disapointed that i went and enjoyed the experience.  however, probably wont venture back too quickly.

This place has WONDERFUL burgers.  High quality ingredients at a great price.   Fries are good.  They have some kind of mint lemon water that is nice if you are not in the mood for a soda. We've been here many times and their food is consistently great.

I keep  meaning to try their Greek salad, as the owners are Greek.

Only thing lacking is the atmosphere. Minimal, clean, but not the most comfy  (along the comfort level of Chipotle).  I imagine they do a big lunch business because at dinner, we are usually alone or there may be one other party.

    Service is friendly.

This place is a hidden gem.

This place is run by a super friendly husband and wife. It's the epitome of a mom and pop shop: a family-owned operation that runs totally counter to the multiple lame, cookie-cutter chains that surround it. While I no longer live in Dallas, I always make it a point to eat at Burger Bueno when I am visiting.

At burger bueno, your food is cooked on an open fire grill, right in front of you. The toppings are plentiful and of the highest quality, and as far as bang for your buck I don't know of a better value in the DFW area. I have eaten at BB more times than I can count, and have tried multiple burgers and chicken sandwiches, along with the Philly cheesesteak and gyro. All have been top notch. Their waffle and sweet potato fries are also excellent.

On more than one occasion, I have been eating while the owner was cooking some off-the-menu items for her own pleasure. Last time, she was kind enough to offer me freshly made falafel pieces for free. They were very, very good, and I thought it was so kind of her to do that. Last I checked, that doesn't happen at any burger chain I know of.

Go and try out burger bueno if you get a chance. You will be very happy you did!

This place does a burger right. I've been her multiple times and it still wows me how this place can hit so many of the key points of a great burger that most places miss.

Burger Bueno does a great job in creating great texture out of the burger. You need to toast/heat the bun. Cold bun from the supermarket bag ruins the burger.  You also need a crust on your patty.  BB does both and you really get that when you bite into the sandwich.  I've had the avocado burger (freaking half of avocado people!) and the mushroom burger. Both were great.  The burger is big, but not massive. It's a good size and the toppings don't drop all over your plate.

Special mention for their fries because they are super crispy and the style I like the best.  Great taste and great texture in a no frill place. Enjoy a great burger people, just don't expect any mexican food. Need to try a gyro soon

This review is only for the gyro--haven't tried the burger yet but it didn't really look like the kind I like (burger was large, but patty was very thin and overcooked).  I'll probably try it anyway at some point and see if they can make it closer to medium.

The guy at the desk REALLY did not seem to want to be there.  He was very s l o w, no smile, didn't really listen to the order very carefully and was annoyed when he misheard "drink" instead of "onion rings" for BrianQ's order and had to change it.

Gyro was underwhelming.  I rather enjoyed the grilled pita bread, but the preparation was not the Greek style that I enjoy.  It was more like they put hamburger stuff in a pita with the gyro meat (and it wasn't as much meat as everyone was saying...i thought I was going to take some home but after a few bites there wasn't even much meat left TO take so I just ate it by itself), added some runny tzatziki ("Z sauce"), and sent you on your way.

Eh.  It's close to work but I was disappointed.  I'll be back to try the burger and dole out final judgement.

Did I write that you couldn't taste the burger before? That's a total lie. All I can remember right now is the juicy, meaty goodness of the burger patty at Burger Bueno.

This time I ordered the Jalepeno Burger ($4.95) with no sauce, and it was good. Lots of fresh veggies and burger, but perhaps with a tad too much burger grease. I guess that's the tradeoff of having a tasty burger though. **And probably explains why Texans are fatter than New Yorkers. Hurray for authenticity!

**Should probably stop reading at this point if you're a Texan with thin skin.

I've driven by this place many times and have never, ever considered walking in.  The only reason I gave it a try was because of the ratings here on Yelp.  I guess I had made assumptions about the restaurant based on the name assuming it would be some sort of weird Mexican burger (whatever that would mean...um, salsa, beans and rice?).

I'll admit it.  I was wrong.  My bad.

As I headed towards the order line, I tried to do a inconspicuous review of what everyone in the small restaurant was eating.  Excellent...this stuff looks good.  From the reviews I looked at beforehand, there seemed to be back and forth between the gyros and the burgers.  Decisions, decisions.  Do I get the burger?  Do I get the gyro?  Heaven forbid, do I get both?

I decided to go with the gyro only because I had eaten a burger the other day (plus it's been a while since I've had a gyro).  I also got it "to-go" with a drink.

I opened the to-go container and my first thought was "wow, they really do stuff it with a lot of gyro meat".  I also noticed the sauce seemed appropriate for the amount of meat on the pita.  Now came the moment of truth, the first bite...and it was good.

The meat was well seasoned and was complimented by the sauce.  The onions were not overbearing because the rest of the flavors evened them out.  They won me over.  If I had to complain about anything, I'd say the pita bread was more on the crispy side than the soft side, but I was able to live with it.

I definitely want to come back and try a burger next time.  For that reason alone, I will give them 3 stars.  I'm saving star #4 for that burger.

That time you played "raw steak keep-away" with the local unleashed pitbull will seem like a STROKE OF BLEEDING GENIUS if you make the weighty mistake of passing this place by.

Burger Bueno is a liar and a thief. It lies by looking all forgettable on the outside yet sporting a clean, modern interior inside. Burger Bueno is a thief because once you sample the cuisine here, your previous good burger memories will be wadded up and thrown away and you will LOATHE those other places because they are not Burger Bueno, and never will be.

Let's get down to brass tacks: As mentioned previously, the owners are greek and they have one hell of a grill cook. The burgers here are absolutely gargantuan (2 people sharing a burger is not uncommon here), and most are under five bucks.

The patties here are hand-formed, topped with a bit of greek grill seasoning, and are flame-grilled. The bacon is thick-cut, smoky, and crunchy, and my favorite burger sports grilled and lightly caramelized onions, grilled jalapenos, cheese, and fresh lettuce and tomatoes.

This is the only burger I have not wanted ketchup with.
Ketchup came up to me, all cocky, started to take off her top and I was like "BACK UP OFF ME, HO! Burger takes care of me now." The line cook looked up at this outburst.

No matter how good the burger, though, I must admit that I originally came here for the rumors of the gyros. I've been looking all over town for a good one, and the few I've been able to find are overpriced and underwhelming.

Burger Bueno simply offers the best gyro I've ever had.

For five bucks (the magic price point for food), you are given an enormous two-hands-needed grill-warmed pita piled high to overflowing with succulent slow-cooked gyro meat (beef and lamb mixture), lettuce, tomato, onion, and refreshing cucumber sauce. I should not eat this whole thing in one sitting but I do. I should not karate-chop salmon as they jump upstream to their spawning beds but I do (or at least I want to).

The fries here are a mixed bag: they are thin-cut, and the first time I had them they were soft and too oily. The next time I tried them (mooching off a friend's plate), they were crisp, hot, and sprinkled with an unidentified but awesome spice. Maybe the initial batch got stage fright and just couldn't perform?

The onion rings are beer-battered, golden, and very good, though after my gyro, I was too full to properly enjoy them.

There are some other options here that are quite delicious. The chicken sandwiches are 1/2 lb marinated breast fillets grilled to perfection, and topped with the aforementioned heavenly bacon or a slew of other toppings. The chicken florentine sandwich looks particularly good as it is served with grilled fresh spinach, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

The buffalo strips were probably my least favorite thing here. The sauce is quite tasty, but the strips are relatively small, unbreaded, and the same price as a burger. I got these and was instantly jealous of everyone else's food and their lives and the world at large. Put your money elsewhere.

For me, burgers fall into two categories: the small, greasy-spoon variety that are superbly done at places like Keller's, and the large, gourmet burger done at places like Twisted Root and others.

In my opinion, Burger Bueno outstrips the competition in the gourmet category by offering a supremely sublime burger, topped with fresh ingredients, and the best gyros in town.

    You! Put down that chapstick!
    You! Unhand that mailbox!
    You! Burn your novel-in-progress!
Do all these things and head straight over to Burger Bueno, the only friend you will ever need (until you need coronary bypass surgery).

It not a fancy place for sure, but the man behind the the counter knows how to make a juicy burger without much fanfare. Not a small sandwich, but not unmanageable either. I had the plain Cheese Burger, all the fixins, and a side of fried pickles. Yum.

And check out their beverage cooler: more sodas, health and energy drinks that 7-Eleven.  I did not get a chance to order the Turkish coffee: I will have to do that next time.

Stupid name, sexy burger. I would have never stopped at this unassuming (quite frankly, crappy) location way up North were it not for a recommendation from a friend. If you are wearing sweatpants with a hole in the crotch, are hungover as hell, haven't washed your hair in a week, and smell like cigarettes and regret...this is your walk of shame meal!

The place is run by a Greek couple (hence, awesome gyros), and all of their ingredients are fresh. They chop the lettuce themselves, they grill the bun, they grill the jalapenos (amazing!) and they use a freaking POUND of magnificent meat.

If I was a sissy, I would say split this bad boy. But I'm not. I'm extremely masculine and strong. But seriously, this is the biggest, baddest burger I've ever had. And I think it was like four dollars?!! And they had sweet 'tater fries! Lord have mercy on my fatty soul.

Another plus: they have lots of fun bottled drinks. Weird Asian ones and Topo Chico, too! So take off your pants and waddle on up...this trip up north is totally worth it. Your arteries will thank you, too.

In order for you to really enjoy the burgers here, you may want to do yourself a favor and leave off the house sauce - unless you are a huge fan of thousand island dressing ... that has the same "tangy zip" as Miracle Whip ... and tends to get warm spread on the burger's toasted bun (urk).  And since the burger is on the greasy drippy side it helps to hold it vertically and let the excess run off first, unless you want to risk a hot mess in your pants.

I didn't try the gyro (although a friend did say that it was good, all things considered) because I'm spoiled after having ones with shavings of real meat.  To order one made with slices of a giant cone-shaped hot dog just seems unnatural.  He also mentioned that the tzatziki sauce was heavy on the yogurt with not enough cucumber.  But like all the burgers here it was big and almost bursting at the seams near the end.

One suggestion about the sides - DO NOT order the fried mushrooms.  I could be mistaken but I think they used canned button mushrooms and they are way too heavy on the batter/breading.  And they are brought out to you scalding.

I ordered the straight up Cheeseburger - no jalapenos, avocado, olives, etc, and it was good all around for 4 bucks.  The thinner and wider patty probably makes it easier to bite into a burger piled high with the works, and they know when to take it off the grill when its still pink in the middle.  It's even assembled properly, lettuce under the meat, all the other stuff on top so the toasted bun doesn't get soggy.  Brilliant!

They're good here with other details too.  Whether you order a burger, gyro, or salad, the veggies will all be fresh.  And there's plenty of glass bottled beverages (Topo Chino, Jarritos, Celsius) to choose from as well.  Somehow I'm thinking the nearby Subway will be closed very soon ....

Last Thursday I was stuck up at work during lunch eating a crappy sandwich from our cafeteria when a couple coworkers came into the conference room to eat their lunches as well. You can imagine my surprise and depression when they both pulled out gigantic beef and lamb gyros. In complete awe of their awesome lunches while getting incredibly pissed off at my stupid turkey on wheat I asked where they got such a magnificent gyro. Their answer? Bueno Burger.

Now, if you're like you me you're thinking "What the hell is a Bueno Burger?" Ridiculous name, right? You think it has to be some fast food dump, right? The idea of pimply-faced teens in paper hats immediately pops into your head, right?

Well rest assured that is not the case here. I let the roommates know we needed to try this place out and at just past 12:30 on Saturday afternoon I found myself gawking at their menu. After a long debate, I decided to go with the gyro since it was the reason I made the trip. Luckily the girlfriend got my backup choice, the avocado burger, so I knew I could try it out as well.

For $5 I got a gyro that put just about every other Greek restaurant in town to shame. Ziziki's, Opa!, Cafe Greek and Fadi's were all put to shame in size and taste. I'll agree with my Greek roommate who noted that Kosta's is the only place that can give Bueno Burger a run for the gyro.

The meat was a great balance of lamb and beef and I ended up having to eat half the meat with a fork before I could even attempt to fold the pita. I really liked how they didn't smother the gyro in tzatziki sauce like a lot of other places. Just a light drizzle to help balance out the rich flavor of the meat. The tzatziki was a bit runnier than I was used to and didn't have that strong refreshing cucumber flavor like some places, but it was still very tasty.

Being the hedonist that I am, I didn't waste any time searching for a few bites of my girlfriend's avocado burger as soon as I finished up my food. Holy avocado, Batman! They must have used at least an entire avocado on her burger. It was caked on both sides of the gigantic beef patty (I want to say at least 1/3 lb of beef). The meat wasn't overly cooked and had a Greek seasoning on it that balanced really well with the avocado.

My roommate seemed pretty happy with his jalapeno burger. He let me know they used grilled jalapenos instead of the pickled crap and they didn't skimp on quantity there either.

We all got out for around $7 and extremely full stomachs (naps were almost mandatory afterwards). Definitely worth a visit if you live or work in the area.

Due to a tip from Yelp, this is where I now go to get my gyro fix. I still haven't tried the burgers that are their name sake for a couple of reasons. First, finding a good burger isn't too hard and I already have some go-to places to satisfy this craving, so it's really hard to pass up a good gyro when I go here. Second, at seeing the size of these burgers I'm not sure if I have the gastronomical capacity to eat one and this failure may throw in to question my prowess as an American male.

The gyros start with a large warm soft pita and stuffed full of savory gyro meat sliced from their dedicated vertical rotisserie and then grilled to a crispy-on-the-outside-tender-on-the-inside perfection.  Also included are onions and tomatoes that complement the flavor of the meat perfectly and everything is topped with a creamy cucumber sauce.  Delicious!
